NFL season kicks off, President Obama’s kicks off a major jobs speech to a special joint session of Congress, and it’s also the kickoff of Toronto International Film Festival. We be kicking off with a TIFF related theme for each segment. Casie Study – We chat with Gordon Vasquez of realTVfilms.com who is in town from LA to shoot interviews and Jeff Musson of the Dynamite Network. Jeff and Gordon partnered during SXSW and are partnering again on a TIFF mobile app. We chat about their businesses and their TIFF partnership. Who knows who might pop in….. I’m determined to get to SXSW 2012. (Sounds like doomsday when you say 2012 after anything. Damn you Hollywood!) As I was saying, I am determined to be there. Speaking would be even cooler and that might happen. Lucia included me in her panel discussion called “Psychology of Narcissism & how it effects brands”. Something I can talk lots about (haha). Read the description below and if you like it, give us a thumbs up here. I love learning, talking about and being involved in influencer marketing and “peep culture”. I think this one is a winner. Description: Society spends increasingly more time online, watching and reading about strangers. Is peep culture creating more narcissists or simply helping us connect through the sharing of our intimacies? Do users share content that they are truly passionate about and believe in or do they simply share content that influences how others perceive them? This panel will duke out diverse opinions on how brands use the internet famous to spread buzz about products and services, what this means for the future of marketing and how this effects everyone’s behavior online. As time passes will positive sentiment towards an influencer inevitably change to negative? Is influencer marketing changing how we behave online and in our everyday? Is peep culture and narcissism shaping our world, playing a part in marketing and influencing our sharing and buying decisions? Some like it Hot…Docs!

No I’m not talking about my favourite Marilyn Monroe movie, I’m talking about the biggest documentary festival in North America! Hot Docs! The Toronto fest is running until May 8th so I’ve been trying to see as many docs as I can! So far? So awesome! Here are my top 3 must see documentaries from the fest: Dragonslayer Fast. Fun. Beautiful. Raw. Rad. It’s no wonder that it’s the SXSW 2011 Documentary winner. The film organically captures moments of punk skateboarder Josh “Screech” Sandoval’s life.  A mix of stunning cinematography and point of view hand-held footage. Not to mention the perfectly fitting soundtrack. You’ve Been Trumped – Thursday May 5th 1pm and Sunday May 8th 12:30pm @ The Cumberland Exposing the Donald for the ruthless monster that he is! Donald Trump taking over a small Scottish town + A journalist = trouble. I don’t want to give too much away, but I was shocked at Trumps behavior. Worth the watch without a doubt. Kumaré – Sunday May 8th 3:30pm @ The Cumberland My favourite of the fest so far. A funny yet very interesting look into what happens when a New Age skeptic decides to try his hand at becoming a Guru! I was sitting on the couch last night and I caved, I purchased the official replica of this ring. Fan girl, crazy, call me what you want. I love her and the Royal Wedding is one thing I really love. I will 100% be up watching despite the time difference. One of the best things about having a blog is keeping memories. I found this one post title “you wouldn’t believe me if i told you” from 2009. I had been asked to go to this fashion show for Puma and in my post after it I wrote: I’d love to do something else for Puma downtown or online please! I’m thinking something that involves me and clothes/shoes/accessories. Thank you, love Casie. Pretty neat I’m doing something with them now. Found this old post from May 2009 when I worked in Liberty Village. The title is a quote I was happy to find “the trouble with jogging is the ice falls out of your glass”. I like this video. Our Puma Social video from last night will be done this week. Stay tuned, you’ll see it here. Where am I, do you know? Oh, did you hear? DB & Posh Spice are having a baby girl. Breaking news via twitter. That kid is gonna be the most awesome, well, potentially. Let’s hope she get’s the right mix of both their looks. Speaking of looks…looks skinny & sexy to me. Carly & I, at it again! Life of the party 🙂 Thanks to Jason for stopping to shoot us & thanks to my planning, I’ve managed to get my work done today and attend two sessions. The afternoon one I went to was all about Women in Social Media and I learned I need to start being on panels. I’ve got lots to share about internet, personal branding, stalkers, privacy. I’ve been doing this internet thing since  before ICQ & I started blogging on that old myspace in 2005. In other daily news, got an email today for the SXSW panel picker for 2011. Had a great call about a campaign with a new client. Confirmed I’m a judge for the Canadian Online Publishing Awards. Heading over to Peach Berserk before getting my hair done  to see about a special MMVA dress too. I’m really excited about life and my friends and my job. All this stuff just makes me wanna work harder and set BIGGER goals! LOOK OUT WORLD HERE I COME! FTW! I got to thinking about that MTV TJ job everyone is buzzing about and looked back to that article about me in the Metro back in Jan. Made me feel pretty lucky/proud of how much I’ve grown since then and what I’m doing at work. I saw on the news this morning that there was a smash up between a police car and street car last night at King & Spadina. Minor injuries to two our officers. I was news reporting last night when I started #spadinawatch. Today was a really beautiful day. I had coffee with a friend and went a walk for about two hours. around the St. Lawrence Market, Bay Street, Queen Street, Spadina. I had coffee with a friend who was off to Opera rehearsal for the COC. Pretty cool! Today is PI Day – 3/14. I stopped by Black Market on Queen, everything in the store is $10 right now. Got a couple goodies! I ran into a few peeps walking around which is always awesome. I’m enjoying all the tweets from my friends at the SXSW Interactive conference in Austin, TX. Wish I was there too!

Partying! Imagine a sexy downtown loft filled with hot, young, internet innovators and cool kids. Dancing to downtown beats and raising glasses to each other…sounds good doesn’t it. Last night I had the pleasure of attending #GenyTO Meetup #2 at the Centre for Social Innovation. It was awesome. The bar was bubbling over with booze and there was even a movie premiere for Toronto’s 175 birthday (video below). This time the crowd was even larger as we joined forces with the SXSW & CanLIT groups.
