Yesterday I went for a bike ride. I had lunch with a lovely Newfie named Brent Winsor who went to his high school prom with Jessi from MTV. We had BQM he paid, it was tasty. Actually his mama paid, THANKS MA! He has a wee Newf accent, that shizzz cracks me right the efff up. ENJOY Toronto BRENT! He said I am way smaller in real life than I appear on Twitter. Deff not the first tme I’ve heard people thinking I appear taller online. Larger than life? We also chatted w/  a CBC reporter about how Rob Ford was totes gonna win. Brent was a huge supporter although he can’t vote here. He likes controversy I think. heh heh I also voted. Rob Ford won. Knew that would happen. Anyone who takes on Mayor is going to have a hard job. I would hate that job. Peeps are so angry he won. Someone freaked out I had a different photo here. I took a pic of a blank ballot and drew in a vote. Not funny eh? Is this better? I aim to please 😉 In other news… I’m so excited peeps!  I’m part of this awesome campaign that is soooo close to my heart.  Curious??? I’ve been avoiding wearing/getting a helmet despite Mum’s efforts to convince me I need one. This is going to be hard for Mum to read the most I think… Last night at the intersection where near my house, a 34 year old woman was  hit almost killed when a car struck her while biking. She was not wearing a helmet. The streets were closed off and as I rode by and saw the lonely bike standing beside the police car, my heart dropped. I took these photos on the way to meet Saul Colt for dinner. The accident happened while I was there and 3 blocks behind me in the photo. I’m going to get a helmet within the next week. NOTL – That’s what they call it. Like it’s a gangsta-short- code for something really bad ass. It’s a popular spot for wino’s and people from the State. If you enjoy people watching, grab a drink and score a seat because you’re sure to see some entertaining characters. I’m not sure where the people come from but it’s so much different than being in the city.  Here, it’s busy and noisy and there are so many people that you can’t even tell who the crazy ones are and you barely have time to watch the days go by. Good food at this place, Prince of Whales. I was a little shocked to see the below advertisement for Wine Tours combined with biking.  I’ve learned that biking and drinking, especially to multiple destinations, isn’t usually a good idea. By the time you get to your last stop you’re half in the bag and then you have to go all the way back home. I’m surprised that this place even exists. I wonder if I can take a dirt bike around to different breweries anywhere? Now, doesn’t that sound like a bright idea? This building made for pretty pictures. It’s a really old one covered in vines. I’m watching The Bachelorette and I think she’s a wild one. This could be an interesting show.  I dig that she drives a purple vintage classic. I think guys get snarkier than girls do and there will be some fights.  Shame the preview gives the show away and the guys are such dorks.

I asked my old roommate Chad to take me for a ride on his bike. After I gave him no choice I said “let me get ready!” and ran upstairs. The other two boy’s we lived with assumed I was heading upstairs to put on a jacket, pants, closed toed shoes maybe. No, not this girl. You know me much better than that. I put on the music, followed by my long blonde extensions, a micro mini and some red pumps. I was READY! I always wanted to ride on the back of a motercycle like that and god damnit, I did. Check that one off the list!

Tomorrow’s Sugar

Tomorrow’s Sugar

What a difference a day makes.  Your heart breaks, your body aches,  you need rest.  It’s a test, a level to pass.  The feelings you’re having won’t last.  Get some sun, read a book,  find a mirror, take a look.  Like hummingbirds at the feeder,  tomorrow’s sugar will be sweeter. I don’t know if it’s all this rain or a phase but I’ve been feeling down. I’m ready for spring and sunshine, long walks, bike rides, and park hangs. Maybe it’s the universe reminding me my birthday is days away? Every year, no matter how much I try to deny it, I get this feeling leading up to May 8th. I look back, I look forward, I look around, and feel each moment with my head and my heart.

New Scents & Bubbles!

This summer has flown by, how is it almost September?! Yes, we still have lots of warm days ahead but the nights are getting colder, and it’ll be spooky season before we know it. Got two great packages in the mail this week, new scents & bubbles! Both fit right into my weekend plans of relaxing, recharging, and treating myself to some self-care. The thing I love about September is the ‘new year’ energy it brings. I like to start things in September most people would kick off January 1st, that way, by the time the holidays come, I’m good and ready for the new year. Ok, now onto the packages… The first package was from MicroPerfumes, which just announced their expansion to Canada. I didn’t know about this well-kept beauty secret but I love the idea. Don’t wear a lot of perfume but I often buy the smallest size so I can travel with it or test it out. I’ve loved wearing Santal 33 for the past few years and before that was dedicated to a Dolce & Gabanna perfume that’s now discontinued. The cool thing about MicroPerfumes is you can order all kinds of designer scents in travel sizes for a fraction of the price. I got a gift set of three scents: Santal 33, Dolce & Gabbana Pour Femme Intense (similar to my old fav!), and Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille (unisex). The other weekend I was op at the cottage and ran into one of my cottage besties who works for Vitabath. Well, am I ever lucky! Today a gift box showed up full of bubble baths, bath salts, lotions, body wash, and more. She even sent some goodies from the men’s line for Sean. I can’t wait to run a nice bath this weekend and pamper myself.…

Holiday Hippie Market

Holiday Hippie Market

It was so lovely out today! Had a very slow morning watching holidays movies in bed and playing Nintendo. After doing some stuff around the house I put on a cute outfit and biked over to the Holiday Hippie Market on Ossington. This new location was so GOOD. Heaps of vendors and such a great vibe. It was pretty busy all day and there was a huge lineup when I left. Hopefully, that means they’ll be back to this same location again soon. Highly recommend checking it out, follow @hippiemarketlife on IG for updates. See posts from my past visits here. Stayed in last night, ordered pasta, and finally watched the first two episodes of ‘And Just Like That‘ (the new Sex and The City). I’m honestly not sure how I feel about it but I will 100% be tuning in as new episodes come out.

Day 592: Run for Your Life!

Went for such a nice run this evening and then a bike ride. It’s quite cold today but perfect for getting that heart rate up. Not looking forward to really cold temps but I love running in the winter, as long as it’s not slippery. I usually head out in the morning but today we had contractors over to fix one of our exterior walls at 8 am and Sean was already on his run. Someone had to be home! Planning to run the rail path before work tomorrow as I’m meeting some friends for dinner in the evening. I’ve not seen a couple of these ladies in almost a year so really looking forward to it. Hope your week is off to a great start!

Day 586: When Life Gives You Monday

After work, I biked over to a last-minute vintage sale on Queen West. April was going to meet me there but she had to work so I went solo. I wasn’t really looking for anything particular but I left with a beautiful silk blazer (with shoulder pads!) and a glass bowl I plan to use for plant propagation. Took home something for April in my bike basket. ? It was absolutely beautiful outside and it felt great to be on my bike in the sun. I cruised down the West Toronto Rail Path, down Dundas West, and back. Loving these warm October days and hope they stick around past Halloween. Day 579: Got a Mani-Pedi!

Before the pandemic, I was religious about having my nails done. Every 10 days or so, for about 4 years I’d pop into Ivy Nails for fresh shellac. Today was the first time since March 2020 that got a mani-pedi. ? I know salons have been open for a few weeks but I just wasn’t ready to sit inside and go through the process. But today I was home alone, work was good, the sun was shining, so I figured why not! I ordered one of those pedicure tools with a blade from Amazon so my feet weren’t that bad but it was time to make them look better. It felt so nice to have my nails fresh again! I got one hand pink and one hand orange but when I left, I realized they almost look exactly the same. Oh well! Left a nice tip then biked around the neighbourhood a bit. It was so lovely out, here’s hoping these warm temps last a few more weeks.
