Let’s Get Visual: Instagram, Viddy, Art Parties, Blondetourage

I have been loving Viddy lately. I don’t work for them but I met some of the execs at CES in Vegas and we were insta-friends. The image above is a bunch of vids I’ve made. They’re so bright and colourful. Even this GROSS is not soooo bad. Random Love Note. Heard some really good tunes at FOAM – Future of Art & Music event this weekend. This week I got a vile of sweat in the mail from El Tabador, the lucha loving Mexican midget from Koodo. I’ve been a Koodonation ambassador for almost a year. Together we donated $20,000 in my name to a charity in Malawi called Moving Windmills. Posted a TED talk with the founder last year. Last night I went to this event that featured ‘Dirty Car Art’ check this out: The night before I FINALLY met Candice, aka Edgy Veg who is also a host on Coral TV. Another one for the babe BLONDETOURAGE! Look how happy we are, cute. We both have nerdy iPhones. I’m in Mississauga for the day at a clients office teaching the ways of the web. Love it! The Blondetourage Does Baseball

Yesterday was an epic day for a ball game. O’Nizz, Keri, the boys and I were invited to hang out with our friends from Keek.com for Roberto Alomar Hall of Fame Day. It was awesome! Check out our box! Roberto Alomar was my fav player as a kid. I loved being there to watch the Jays retire his number and hear him speak. You are legend! Where’s Waldo? Can you see him? Two mounties walking behind. I had a huge crush on him when I was little. Remember how much of a babe he was?  Swoon. He’s still pretty good looking TBH. I was fan girl crushing pretty hard. The entire stadium was PACKED. I heard the game was sold out! Whoa. His speech was very kind. My fav thing that he said was something his Mum always told him “be humble”. We had a ‘gay ol’ time’ singing “Take me out to the ball game”. I can only imagine how hot it would be to sit in the sun for the whole game. I didn’t see any umbrellas, are they even allowed? Probably not eh. Remind me to bring a huge hat if I ever sit down there. Hey there sports fans: Seany, Sammy, Ross. I can see my house! Two studs right here. Home run! It was Ross’ birthday. I can’t remember if we say HBD but we sure celebrated good! I’ve totally fallen in love with my new camera, Olympus Pen, you rule. This guy had two nipple piercings and a belly button. WOW! Miranda and I tried our hardest to get him to look up. HEY YOU! This is Roger,he’s the MAN. Thanks for the invite team. We <3 you 🙂

Got dressed up and went over to Brock & Lauren’s after work. He did a surprise proposal! I’m so excited for two of my BFFs to be getting married! They’re so great together, congrats guys! Sean and I also attended the TIFF premiere of the Triumph film ‘Rock & Roll Machine’. It was nice to be out for an event but to be honest, it was also weird. I’m so not used to being inside an event venue with a large group. Didn’t stay long and went back over to celebrate with Lauren & Brock. Lauren asked me to be her Maid of Honor. I’ve never been involved in planning a wedding before. Ahhhhh! Blondetourage wedding ftw!

Day 402: My Blog is 16 Today

A 16th birthday is a coming of age year, you’re a bit more mature and figuring out who you are. You’re in high school, you can get your license. I can hardly wrap my brain around the fact that I’ve been writing this for so long. And for 400+ consecutive days of a global pandemic. I would love to have had a post written with all kinds of favorite moments in blog history: travel adventures, red carpets, film festivals, tweetups, and events, but that life seems so incredibly far away right now. I didn’t have the energy but now thinking about it, going back in time seems kinda fun. Looking back, the thing I’m most grateful for is all the people I’ve met through this blog. Nearly everyone I know today is somehow connected to my blog, by way of social media, work, or events. It’s changed my whole life. I changed my whole life. The thing is, if you want to achieve something, or be something, you have to work at it. You need to do something each day that brings you closer to that goal. You get up early and work on it before your job, you think about it on your run, you stay up late, you work on it. You skip going out with your friends to learn HTML and use what little extra money you have to make stickers and cards with your name on them. You do something each day to bring you closer to your goal. You take a step forward each day. A couple of things I’m pretty proud of are being recognized by the Canadian Academy of Film & Television as an innovator & pioneer, receiving an Alumni of Distinction award from Conestoga College, and being recognized by Ontario as a…

It may be raining outside but there’s sunshine in here.

It’s been a bit gloomy up here the last 24 hours but I don’t really mind it. Hopefully we get some sunshine tomorrow. Jenie is coming to visit w/ her BF today and I can’t wait! Made a time lapse of the rain storm yesterday. It was magical with the sun shining through most the time. Posted the 15 second on Instagram here. Been doing some travelling w/ Kim Kardashian. I just can’t quit her! Looked at Sean’s old family albums and I knew he was cute but SERIOUSLY he is JUST SO DAMN CUTE. Look at this Jr. Blondetourage member! What a little legend. Hoping we can float in those big donuts I got on Amazon in the sunshine tomorrow. The rain is relaxing but also makes me sleepy. Reckon I’ll take a trip to town before I get cabin fever. Sun on the face. Senators only. Reflection. Welcome to Canada. Baby blue. “I’m melting” The Blondetourage: expressed as neon wolves made of ice at Winterlude 2012. Full circle. Walked from my hotel down to the mall, through the market, around Parliament, through Winterlude, across the canal and back. Kevin was a great tour guide and I posted all kinds of beautiful things you won’t see here I saw on Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest, Keek, Facebook and a 360 view from Parliament Hill. It’s fairly mild and the sun felt good on my face. I will remember this day forever. Don’t have hair & makeup till 7:30pm, it’s nap time. Might watch a movie too.

Über is launching in Toronto and a friend invited me to be one of the first to try it out. So, downloaded the app and booked a car. Less than five min and this fancy thing rolled up… I took it to my hair appt at Darren’s and as I hopped out of the car I had this moment where I was like “ahhh, this is more like it”. Felt like a diva and it was lovely. Walked to a meeting then called booked another Über to take me home. Luxury fleet is so damn glam compared to taxi! Met up w/ Shannon for a celebratory drink, then took one more Über to the Doc Martens party. Man, everybody and their dog blog was there! Helloooooo blondetourage & Beckerman babes! Cass & Em ILU. Had a few beers, (caved and) got maccas then went home to watch Criminal Minds. LIFE IS CRAZY, live it out!

We had all the blonde blogging babies out that night. Love those babies. Last night I watched Swingers and now all I wanna do is call my besties babies. All our boys were there too. Love these love birds. Lozzie & Seany. Emma is one of my style ICONS. You can find her managing my fav vintage shop @CTS_Queen. She is a beauty and always has the most rad outfits. She picked out my gold dress for the night from the shop, I cut it and added a bow + belt. Check the dance move of the guy in the background above. Ha! The cute baby boy with her below is her charming BF Brendan. Alliteration is my fav literary love. All photos are taken by my lovely PA Miss Kate Killet. THANKS KATE! These dudes were part of the dancing dragons. We were really at a Dim Sum spot. I didn’t eat any, I’m not really into Dim Sum. I heard there were serving lobster too. DANCING DRAGONS!! Welcome to the party. Please drink responsibly. The lights were  my love of the night. More of this please. So pretty. These shots are so tumblrey or hipster bride. If you are reading this and getting married (I know there’s a few!) and don’t know Hipster Bride yet, well, be thankful you are reading this now. It’s full of inspiration. This one is cool. Beautiful clear sky & bright moon tonight. I love this city. Reminded me a bit of the supermoon, that night was special. Bit of a stalk party, cameras everywhere. I bet they make a wicked video from the night. Saw a couple videographers capturing moments in time. Look at that sky & view, so nice. Loved people walking by wondering what the heck this ‘pop up party’ was. Lights and music were in everyones eyes & ears. You couldn’t miss it. There was a lineup the entire night. You‘re alright but I’m here, darling, to enjoy the party. Now THIS is cool. Never seen one of these before… Say, wha? What’s a beer pumper? Oh yes, this is a beer pumper my friends. Got a lotta crooks tryna steal your heart… Loving this track. Thank you Spotify for recommending new songs I didn’t know. People in Canada be hatin’ that I have a Spotify account but TBH, I don’t care what you say. I LOVE Spotify! We biked to the beach yesterday. It was SUCH a beautiful for a ride to the East. Was totally packed. Surprised by how many peeps were in the water. It’s safe I hear. I jus’ dipped in to cool off. Sun was real warm. This dog had the hugest balls ever. It was shocking. Fo’ reals. Not even joking. Took James Dean with me but my Wind stick didn’t feel like working so we were offline. Phone was dead too which was interesting because I was 100% no communicato. I had great company and it was nice to take a tech break. I usually find it harder and start scratching or something. Haha. Today I’m hitting up the Jays game with Keri, Lauren & some peeps.
