Happy Birthday! The Drake Hotel Turns 10!

Last Thursday The Drake Hotel celebrated it’s 10th birthday. I started the night on the roof sipping cocktails and catching up with some of the girls I used to work with at Community. BTW the lobster poutine and popcorn shrimp are both SO GOOD. Before heading home I joined in the birthday celebration fun that filled the building. Here’s a sneak peek into the festivities! It’s always a place you can go for a good time to start your night or finish it off. I’ve certainly closed down the place a few times. It’s a spot I always run into a familiar face or make new friends. Happy Birthday Drake Hotel, you’ll always have a special place in my heart. <3 CASIE

Last week I was invited to the Soho House as a guest of Grey Goose for an exclusive dinner for 10. It was an occasion called ‘Taste by Appointment’ where we learned all about taste, flavours, and of course, drank Grey Goose. I ran into my old friend Mr. Brainwash AGAIN too. (When I say old friend it’s because I met him there the week before!) I’ve been a fan of GG for ages and last year at Community Agency got to work w/ Grey Goose where I learned all about their latest FLY BEYOND campaign. The food at Soho is excellent and totally chowed down on the steak pictured below. Thanks to Ryan Emberley from C Daily for the photos, see the whole set here. Hello & happy Thursday to you! Keri always says Thursday is the best night of the week and for me this week, it’s the first night I don’t have anything planned. I’m going to go home, accept first Grocery Gateway delivery, make dinner, do some laundry, clean some of the house, and watch a movie on the Netflix with my love. (If you have a reco LMK!) There’s such comfort in being domestic when you are always on the go! Last night COMMUNITY had an event with Bacardi and the Blue Jays, huge thanks to friends who joined us to open Bacardi at the Park on level 200, section 233. We had @BacardiCanada trending in Toronto, which, for (me) the Social Media Director is the best. The PR team and I were all like… Also, I love Mean Girls and I WISH THIS WAS REAL. In other news.. The film I am “It’s All About ME“,  premieres NEXT MONTH on the BIG SCREEN and tickets are now on sale. Give a ring to the box office at 416-362-5570 or reach them online at commffest.com. I wanna grow up to be a famous person. Title is an Andy quote of course. I’ve always loved him for his work and outlook on life. I’d like to think I carry some of that around with me everywhere I go. NOISEY + VICE present: Before Monday Comes – Berlin

Exciting news! Meet my first post in a partnership with one of my fav companies in the world, VICE! I’ve been reading the mag for about 10 years after finding it outside a cool little boutique in Bondi Beach, Australia. I’ve blogged heaps about VICE since then and attended a ton of VICE parties in back alleys, abandoned spaces, and hipster hangouts. VICE’s music channel Noisey, is launching a new series called Before Monday Comes. The 8 episode series is the ultimate weekend adventure of eating, drinking, dancing, music, and partying across five cities in five countries.  It looks like a whole lotta fun, and partying, and fun. Check out this episode from Berlin and get  a glimpse into some of the worlds most exciting underground music scenes via Dismantle and Boxfresh.  The series is them travelling around and checking out party scenes in New York, Beijing, Berlin, Stockholm and London as part of a partnership with Boxfresh. The Tragically Hip to Play at Bridle Bash V on August 3

One of the BEST parties I’ve EVER been to is the Bridle Bash. It’s held at a friends private residence on the Bridle Path and brings together and awesome group of people, partiers, and musical guests. This year, THE TRAGICALLY HIP are playing in the ravine backyard for about 800 guests. It’s going to be so freaking awesome! Last time my sister and I went to BB, we ended up on the society page of the Globe & Mail, in the photo above. We put a  canoe in the pool and proceeded to give out vodka filled flasks to people all around. It was fantastic. Tickets for BBV can be purchased here and start at $500 each. All the money goes to the Bridle Bash Foundation which supports an array of charities and events in the city of Toronto. For more info on the bash visit the event website here.
