quick saturday morning update:

First – GenyTO was fun. Thanks to Renee who really took the cake and made sure it went well. I left early after lots of congrats from familiar faces.  We raised a bunch for UNICEF! Thank you everyone for coming! Second – Zombie Walk is ON! No rain. I’ll be getting bloody and gross around 2pm and heading to Bellwoods to meet the other brain hungry kids for 3. Third – Will post the Harajuku Lovers contest winner after brunch.

she looks so pretty with blood on her face

It’s where beauty meets eats brains… So gross hot. I surprise myself all the time with my love for Zombies. I don’t like anything to do with blood or guts and cringe when I see them on TV. However…I love Zombie fun. I reckon I’ll be a Zombie pinup girl this year. If it rains tomorrow I will not be doing the Toronto Zombie Walk for the following reasons: It’s not fun to walk in the rain with a bunch of people Blood will stain my white wellies when it drips on them It’s not so fun to be a soaking wet cold Zombie Flesh woulds will wash off in the rain I don’t want to catch a cold before starting my new job

sentimental, sent a mental note

It’s one of those days, the kind when you’re waiting for something that could make a big difference in your life. Something you really want. Lisztomania plays on my phone waking me up and all I can think of is the brat pack mashup. I love the 80’s. It feels cold outside from inside here. I lay in my bed as I write this. I dreamt of NYC last night. I’m excited for the weekend. I’ve been waiting a year to be a zombie again. Saturday night I’m going to a ball. I woke up to emails filled with positive thoughts and one about a package and the post office. It’s too early to get up and get moving but I just can’t sleep. I just can’t sleep, there are too many things keeping my mind a race today…

did ya get my costumes from the cleaners?

It’s Monday morning…I’m looking forward to Friday and all the days in between. This week is jam packed with exciting things and it is going to be f-u-n. I’ve got my dress at the cleaners for the 1950’s Madwomen party on Tuesday. Wednesday is Fashion Week time with Notable TV‘s Fashion Week Affair in the evening. Thursday is my time. Friday is GenyTO. Saturday is zombie walk. Depending what you fancy there’s plenty of fun to be had. I’d like to wish Happy Birthday to the Amazing Saul Colt, Courtney ‘save it for later’ Greig and my friend I miss in NZ Simon a.k.a DJ MON. Thinking of you and your awesomeness. Have a great day guys 🙂

i think this brain would be pretty tasty

Zombies……I can’t stop thinking about them…. As soon as it turned October, it’s like my body knows it’s Halloween and I wanna dress up and wear masks and makeup and wigs and stuff. I don’t like scary movies or blood and gore but I love to dress up Zombie. The walk is coming up Oct. 24th. There’s gong to be a bunch of us and I’d love you to join in the bloody fun. I saw some photo’s on Tony’s blog of the Hollywood Walk last week and I’m pretty sure that’s what got my Zombie thoughts into overdrive. One more thing… I mentioned a while ago that fellow blogger and comic drawer extraordinaire Mr. Sean Ward has taken up residence in San Francisco.  His crew just produced this new video. Check ‘er out! Have a great day 🙂

tasty brain snack

Great sleep. Lots of rest. Following a bunch of new Tweeps. Sun is shining and it’s warm outside. I woke up thinking Zombie. I want to dress Zombie again. Did it a few times during October last year. I don’t like scary movies, blood, gore, surgery, guts, pretty much anything gross….but you put me in Zombie and I’m not even scared. Zombies eat brains.  Last year I went on my first Zombie walk. Starts in the pit at Trinity Bellwoods with hundreds of dead people then they climb out of the pit and take the streets.  Oh what fun it is to stride with all the bloody faces.  I put a bloody finger up my nose. It was sick. I’m gonna walk it again this year for sure.  I hope Karrera is back from BC. Soon as August rolls around I start thinking about Halloween. That’s my favorite day of the year. I love to dress up, I just love it.

shining right down on me

I biked  the boardwalk trail this morning beside the Lake. So brilliant the sun was shining down on me. The temperature as I left the house was already over 14 degrees and the clouds cleared shortly after 8am. This is my favorite mug. I’ve had it since I was little kid. It’s Care Bears and says “Make the most of every good thing”, I think that’s a pretty good philosophy. I loved Care Bears, used to watch at 8am before school. I woke up extra early, about 6:30. Something about summer mornings  makes me jump out of bed fleeing alive and ready to take on the day. Love this picture.  I often look out and see whats happening with this massive boat, its usually nothing, but it doesn’t mind me staring. Very busy today. Catering brought Penne a la vodka w/ chicken and it’s so yummy. Eating at desk and then going for coffee to draw cartoons of this guy and this girl.

i like when the leaves come on the building

I was walking into the office this morning and it was really beautiful outside. Sabrina and I were giggling our little asses off as I proceeded to say “I like then the leaves come on the building”. Being our immature selves she replied with “I like when you come on the building”. I hope you can imagine just how funny this was. I almost peed my pants. No, I did not make an error I wore pants today. I’m heading to Spin TO tonight at the MOD Club on College. SpinTO is a fundraising project that kicks off today and celebrates the Friends for Life Bike Rally from Toronto to Montreal in support of the Toronto People with AIDS Foundation. The theme is Solid Gold and I think you should all come if you can.  Tickets are on sale for like the next two hours but you can also get ’em at the door. There’s lots of fun stuff happpening there tonight.

today i am feeling a bit of a cold and possibly by the news reports with all the tragedy and gun fights that happened last night some others are feeling cold too i’m staying in all day and i’m wearing a pirate shirt and i put the zombie tattoo on again last night because i love it i’ve got pen and paper and links in my fingers to share and i’m going to write about things that i like because that is what like to do and it makes me happy when i do it and i’m glad to know that other people like reading it because there is nothing more fun than making art and sharing it with people you like andy warhol told me once that being good in business is the best kind of art and i totally agree with that its the best and most free that you can be just creating things and putting it out there borderlineartistic

sharing the randomness – 25 casie facts

This has been floating around Facebook since January. I figured since I’ve been tagged by a ton of friends it is about time I shared 25 random facts about me. The rules go as follows: Once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. Blah, blah, blah… Here we go: I was born in Canada to New Zealand parents and have dual citizenship (Canadian/New Zealand). I danced ballet, tap and jazz as a kid and completed in competitions across Ontario as well as Showstopper in NY & Myrtle Beach, SC. I was 5 with fake lashes and red lipstick! I wrote a book and became a published Canadian Author at 14. It was titled Jeans: An Anthology of Poetry and Prose. The Toronto Star wrote and article about me titled “Push Over Keats, Teen Muse Steps Ahead“. I went to Uni in Australia and lived at Bondi Beach. It was the best year because I learned the most about myself and WHO I really am. I hate scary movies. I get queezy and I don’t like to put bad images in my head. I’m crazy enough already! I still have all my Barbies and their vintage outfits. I hope to get them made in my size one day. I have a Green Belt in Tae Know Do and once knocked out a boy (Note: James Roszell) in grade 8 at school. Mum thought I’d get in trouble but I said “Mum, do you think he’s gonna tell anyone?“ I hate the number three. I don’t do anything in threes. I grew up around vintage cars and vintage clothes. My Dad…

Oh, What to be on Halloween?

I was a sexy pirate, but what should I be next? I went out as a Zombie and was sexier than the rest! I’ve been out as an Olsen with my sister Mary Kate. I’ve been a nasty nun . I was drunk with pregnant traits. I’ve been a super hero a ghost and a witch. I was an old lady and she was a sexy bitch. I don’t know what to wear, I’m pulling out my hair!! Oh, what to be on Halloween!!

that’s a scary thought

I was on Facebook this morning and I saw this pic in Armand Diego‘s album “NYC: Outsiders NY, VMAN party and the KOOL AID MAN”. Scarrrry thought. I’m considering being Sara Palin Zombie. I bet that would be a little too scary and I’d rather not give her the satisfaction of having me be her. Not that she would ever know or care but if I put it on the internet she could see it and comment on it. What if ‘Casie the Zombie Palin‘ became the new ‘Joe the Plumber‘. Like, seriously, am I really ready for that. Is she? Is anyone? I don’t think so. But…tomorrow is another day that is part of Halloween Week in the Wonderful World of Casie. I just found this out. Todd Mitchell Palin (born September 6, 1964)[3] is an American oil field production operator and the current First Gentleman (self-styled “First Dude”)[4] of Alaska. He has taken some college courses but does not have a degree. Gregg Erickson, columnist for the Anchorage Daily News, said that Palin “obviously plays an important role … I’ve seen him in the governor’s office, and I know she’s conducted interviews in the governor’s office with him present.” Mr. Palin is copied on e-mails dealing with official state business. He helped write the state budget, has been involved in personnel matters, and has called lawmakers when he or his wife have disagreed with what they have done.” Check Wikipedia.
