absolutely, a total need for something different

I’ve always been a little different. I when I little I would mix match the couple outfits Mum would lay out on the bed to wear and make my own. I wore two different socks one time, orange and green to match the shorts shirt combo. I remember it. A parent turned to Mum and said “You’re gonna let her go like that?” as Mum says, “If she feels confident like that then I’m not gonna stop her”. Thank you Mum. It’s important to be different. Mum made the dress I wore to the Notable TV party about 16 posts ago.

The video of the party just came out, go watch it now! Julian talked about the the Notable brand in his toast (3:28) which is my favorite part after Raymi and I at 2:40. haha j.k. There are some cool smart young people featured on Notable TV and I like how Julian wants to give people something different. I think that’s important. I truly love the amount of motivation & determination amongst Generation Y in Toronto. There are some really cool things going on in this city. Makes me proud!

interest in spying on people engaged in behaviors

So nice out yesterday. I could have let the day last forever. Today too.  I like it hot. They were talking about mozzies while we were sitting in the grass and I was like ‘no, what mosquitos? I don’t feel them’. Biggest loser. Today I’m scratchy-mc-scratcherton.

The baddest bikes around. Pete was having a one night stand with this one and testing it out. Cervelo got the green jerz in Tour de France and they’re partying this week. Picture makes me giggle cause the leg looks kinda like the bike to me.

I was in friend heaven last night hugging everyone so tight. I missed you guys! I haven’t seen so many favorite faces all together for a while. I met some cool new people and my purse is full of business cards. Lost my keys but my glasses have been located.

Pretty much everyone in the joint tweets. I met two people that were don’t, how weird. Follow @pinkbrickroad and @dariusbashar, they’re cool kids. Patio was beau-teeeee-ful. Fun, sun, friends, beer, music, like OMG can it get any better.

Then I met this guy who is nice (sorry I forgot your name) and we chatted but he had something to say, he doesn’t get my blog. Like really, what is the point? Um, well, ah….it started because I wanted to remember stuff better and I was bored and I like writing. Now, people read it and like it and some people even say I’m inspiring. How cool is THAT! Me thanks Mum and Daddio for inspiring me.

My stickers are always a hit. I make stickers because I think it’s better than a business card at this kind of thing. They get stuck on peoples clothes and name tags and they wear them around proudly. You can’t wear a business card around and look as cool as you do with a sticker. Plus, at the end of the night you have the sticker with my URL and Twitter  making me easy to find. Plus, the picure makes it hard to forget my pretty little face.  Ha!! Two points for me.
We all tuned in to hear the exciting news that Redwire is now Sprouter , “an application facilitating real-time discussion and networking”. Their next step in their mission “to provide exceptional tools for start up founders.” Just as I was listening in the door came Toronto bloggers Ad Girl and Tech Nerd.

Darius though it was really funny to pretend to toss my baby Bobby laptop around. haha, as in not funny! Darius runs the social network of do-googers Daily Challenge.  I’ve worked with them on a few great events over the last year and I also won my little blue steel camera in a Daily Challenge contest. Yahooo! I do good.

It was a busy day and all the beer fun has left me a little tired today. I’d like to be laying in the grass floating in pool with my sunnies on. Oh, remember when I was all gung-ho about Sobey’s opening next door and being 24 hours? I set up a Twitter account cause I thought it would be funny to say what was happening there in the wee hours of the morning etc. Well it’s not 24 hours but they DO want the Twitter account.  Badass.

it’s not always easy but it’s always fun

“i can’t write today somethings wrong i can’t smile today life is a sad song my heart hurts so does my foot in my shoe, today is a sad day without you. “

This is a little poem published in my book in 1996. I’m working on getting that site up so you can see all the good stuff I did when I was a teeny-bopper. It runs through my head when I get writers block, prime example…today.

I hate the days when I have so many thoughts I can’t even get them down. If I have to think too much about what to write I save a draft and start something new and random then see where it goes.  I’ve composed three today. My mind is racing with excitement about projects and a few other things. I’m really looking forward to Wired Wednesday tonight. I feel like I weird Wednesday right now.  Didn’t bike today, my dress is too pretty.

Dating: UK men vs Canadian men from Muireann Carey-Campbell on Vimeo.

I’ve met some really rad girls in the TO blogging scene. I want to share a video of Muireann from Bangs and Bun. I watched it today and I have a crush on her accent. We’re having brunch Sunday and I’m gonna let her do most of the talking!

Exploring Cycling from KeriCDN on Vimeo.

Keri  is the Canadian Explorer and I love reading about her adventures. Karly writes ‘Oh, hey there‘ a Tumblr blog. The girls have all become my friends on Twitter and I enjoy reading their blogs.  Check ’em out!

she’s young but has arthritis

oh, i love ustream now too by the way.

and one more for you of my outfit…

420 consecutive photos one train ride

and the photos took themselves on a journey

I’m really busy today. Meeting at lunch, meeting after work and I’m late to make a call right now. As I was riding the train last night there was no internet.I have made a time lapse video. I will add music this evening and you will see the train ride.

I wrote  this little rhyme in 2004, Mullet Man. That’s me at Niagara Falls about 20 years ago. The guy across the street from Mum’s house had a mad dirty 1988 mullet and he was fixing his van. I was inspired by him.  I knew he could do it.

Mullet man, Mullet Man
Out side the window,
Green van, blue van,
Mullet man plays out in the garage.
I look out there
Lights on, nothing wrong
Feeling strong fixin’ that van.
Mullet man,
You can, you can
Fix that van to run again.

Mullet man,you can, you can,
Run that van, you are the man.

thoughts on save and being safe

I feel good. I feel relaxed and happy.

I wrote something just before this and deleted it by accident. It happened just as I thought it was good. That means, I know, I know I can do it again and not to worry about losing it. Save your work.
I had just finished a thought about dealing with negative thoughts, negative people, self doubt really.  The truth is, I am the director of the movie that is my life, there’s no one else writing it for me. I can hear someone talking on another balcony. I’m sitting here and the rain has since stopped but it was fierce and roaring with thunder and there were flashes of lightening in sky.

i said gimme a lightening and then VOILA! it struck on 12seconds.tv

I’ve been up to a few things lately 1) tumblr 2) 12secondstv. I have more thoughts that process through my mind on a daily basis than this blog is ready to handle. I’ve been sharing snipits and stories about me and my life on what I like to call ‘The Casie Stewart Show’ on 12seconds.tv. It’s fun. There are so many really creative people pf Tumblr. Most younger than me that’s cool. I did some of my most creative stuff so far from 14-16 years old.

the likeness of man but more than average

She said I want to make a Frankenstein man, one with all different parts that’s mix of all the best parts. I laughed. I agreed, I’d like to make that kind of man too. The sun sun is really bright today. Drove with Sabrina and taking the train after work. Via rail for the first time.
Girls weekend away. Much needed, much deserved. I got the same cup today, the one about being mislead as a child. I think that day was a Friday too. I like Friday’s and Saturday’s and  I like Sunday’s even more. I’m still using mouse on left hand, home and work, tennis elbow aches have been the worst this week. More than it has been in a while. Tony Pierce told me it might be stress, now I think he’s right.
Last I recorded  12seconds a few times and posted a few things to my tumblr blog. It’s called Oh Casie, I think you’ll like it. It’s a big mix of all the shit I see on the internet.  Kinda like that spot in your house where you empty your pockets after a night out and then find that stuff again later.  For me, usually near the front door or bedroom table.  First time taking the train, oh the luxury of having wireless and the ability to order a drink. God I’m lucky. Thank you. Let’s go weekend, I’m ready for ya.

what life used to be like B.T

I knew right when I woke up that something wasn’t right. I had a knot in my stomach and I tossed and turned.  Ropes hit the window as I was getting ready and the window cleaning men saw me naked. I rode through a stop sign in front of a police man. Twitterberry was returning no signal and I figured I hate you you stupid phone.  I get to the office and think ‘oh no they blocked twitter gadget finally’. I pinned Kurt and Keri and Tiffany on BBM and said “IS TWITTER DOWN?”. I was in a bit of a panic and thought it has to be the office big brother. Asked Dr. Google for an answer prescription and I got all I needed to know…Twitter is down.

Some things I would have Tweeted:

  • Everything you can imagine is real. Pablo Picasso
  • Coupon for $2.00 off Tylenol Aches and Pains
  • MMMM roast chicken and mashed w. veggies from catering today. I love.
  • I woke up and imagined it was Friday
  • I Hope it doesn’t rain on my white dress today.

tasty brain snack

Great sleep. Lots of rest. Following a bunch of new Tweeps. Sun is shining and it’s warm outside. I woke up thinking Zombie. I want to dress Zombie again. Did it a few times during October last year. I don’t like scary movies, blood, gore, surgery, guts, pretty much anything gross….but you put me in Zombie and I’m not even scared. Zombies eat brains.  Last year I went on my first Zombie walk. Starts in the pit at Trinity Bellwoods with hundreds of dead people then they climb out of the pit and take the streets.  Oh what fun it is to stride with all the bloody faces.  I put a bloody finger up my nose. It was sick. I’m gonna walk it again this year for sure.  I hope Karrera is back from BC.

Soon as August rolls around I start thinking about Halloween. That’s my favorite day of the year. I love to dress up, I just love it.

you can’t rain on my parade

Good Morning! I feel like I could be a radio show today. I am happy to be at work. It’s a beautiful day might even thunderstorm later. The ride in is what I have been missing for the past two weeks. Breaks fixed. Wore my helmet and felt good about it. Smarter, like it keeps my thoughts all bunched up close together and in a jumble and now I sit here and they all flow out like waterfalls fast how I like them to.  Held my nose past the slaughterhouse, stinks bad man. Gross. NO strikers anymore. Good thing. Saw a soda pop  van covered in astro-turf grass. Breakfast Television has lost my interest but I like the news and weather of CP24.

Hot today still humid. Thunderstorm would be nice. I like to ride through the puddles. Dad’s got a sewing machine for me and I’ve got heaps of fabric and vintage patterns at home. Really excited. Twestival Local is coming up September 12th 2009, mark your calendar. In Twestival Global raised over $250,000.00 for charity: water. It was really fun. Twitter has grown so much since February. I hope it rains when I bike home.

it was really nice to see you yesterday

It’s been so nice out all weekend. I got just what I wanted which was lots of rest and home time.  Some friends did a drive by last night and fixed my break. THANKS GUYS!! I think it was the ropes for window cleaning that spooked me. Something to do with rock climbing and the impulsive desire to swing down them.

This seagull remind me of a magpie at Grandad’s batch in New Zealand on the coast near Glenburn Station. I think it was a magpie? Mum said they named it and it used to sit on a post just like this little guy here at the Harboufront.

beautiful day in the neighborhood

It’s really sunny and the air is warm and there’s a soft breeze blowing my hair around. For the first time I felt scared being up really high.  I’m not even afraid of heights…I guess I was kidding myself this whole time. I got some replacement glasses of the ones I gave you mum. Is there anything that rhymes with neighborhood other than gayborhood? I was trying to open the bag to get the tripod. Nice visit from Dad today. Good day for walking around. Took them to the music garden and harbourfront. So pretty by the water. Calm.

garage sale vintage steal

One time Jenie and I went out to a fashion party and we decided to wear these vintage dresses from the 1950’s. Mum snagged then at a garage sale. Probably from an old lady. It was awesome wearing them. We both felt so elegant while the other girls wore mall clothes.  It was our debut and the first time they were out in over 20 years. We were a hit! Thanks Mum!
