Yep, its way easier to cut copy paste which I was having issues with before. I feel more creative now. Is it the ipad or is it the Mac product with my stylus and accessories that make using it a pleasure?  I reckon both. Sitting across the row is an older man, about Dad’s age, business suit, writing notes on a pad of paper. I glance over and think, “Man, what are you going to do with that paper?” the pages are ruffling and he’s got all these papers and they are in a stack on the seat beside him. He sips his wine. I drink my beer.  He is clearly not enjoying this trip as much as I am. It’s neat the difference in age and generation. Never had a job where I would write things down like that. I’ve always had a laptop or blackberry. It’s five years ago, six in January, that I started my very first full time job. That year I also started blogging.   We arrive in San Juan later today. I don’t think I can give up Internet for a few days. I’ve got to many exciting things to share. This IS my life and I am “L.I.V.I.N”. iPad makes me wat to write more stories. 2011, I’m gonna write more. Well, more than I do already!  Love you. Bye xo P.S. Porter doesn’t have tall cans anymore. Last week my two BFFs and I stopped by the new Awkward Portrait Studio by Awkward Family Photos to preview it before opening weekend. Lauren, Sarah, and I were joined by the lovely Greta (Lauren’s cat) for a super cute photoshoot. It’s located at Richmond & Bathurst and each 30-minute studio session includes 2 backdrops and 10 digital photos. You can also buy printed photos, merch, or the official Awkward Family Photos book. I planned for us all to bring denim jackets at the last minute and I love these ones so much. If you’ve been following me on Instagram for a while, you’ll remember last year when I posted about my first venture into textile design. Using a piece of my art made on iPad Pro, I uploaded the image to Weaver & Loom‘s digital platform and the process of creating my first rug began. 🤗 Fast forward to 2023, and I’m heading to Miami with the Weaver & Loom team! The first image below is my design from iPad, the second is a rendering of my 18 x 18 sample, the third is a color strike rendering of my 31 different colours, and the last image is my hand-knotted sample. The day I received my sample I was SO excited I decided to have a photo shoot with it! I was blown away by the construction and how vibrant the colours were. Going through the rug-making process with Weaver & Loom was incredible, as my rug went through production, I received updates from the weavers in Kathmandu, Nepal. Here’s my rug on the loom!
