#ShareLove Pride 2018! Video + Parade w/ Telus!

A couple weeks ago I was invited to Telus Toronto to share some of my Pride memories. I’ve been going to the parade since I was a teenager. Dad took my sister for our first time when we were in high school. It’s been a place for positive self-expression, to celebrate, to join friends for their first Pride after coming out, or to remember friends who have past. Every year we get together to share love, joy, and friendship while dancing in the street together. Pride is an opportunity to #ShareLove and inspire LGBTQ+ youth. Watch how Pride has impacted the lives of those from the LGTBQ+ community. pic.twitter.com/JUFwaVe8S9 — TELUS (@TELUS) June 20, 2018 Thank you, Telus for having me in to share what PRIDE means to me. I am so proud and glad to work with a company that supports diversity, LGBTQ, and gives back in communities across the country.  This weekend I’ll be walking in the parade with Telus. I love being there and feeling the happy energy flying all around. Sending you sunshine and I hope to see some of you at PRIDE! buy Citalopram no prescription buy Topamax http://buywithoutprescriptionrxonline.com/prednisone.html

World Pride 2014 – TORONTO

Pride was SO MUCH FUN. I’ve been going for years and this year, Toronto was host to WORLD PRIDE and it was bigger and better than ever. After coming back from the cottage on Sunday afternoon I met up with all my besties and my sister and we danced the night away. Can you believe that it rained then there was a double rainbow right over Church Street and the closing ceremonies? Could not have been more perfect. Surely a day to remember 🙂 Nice, @MattMillsTO your gorgeous rainbow shot got a nod from famous #Toronto photog @SkyJacked793 ! @CBCToronto @CBC pic.twitter.com/F8ejpwkDYl — Paul Nazareth (@UinvitedU) June 30, 2014 World Pride 2014 Photos   <3 CASIE

Events | The Most Pride in the World

Have you seen these yet? They’re beautiful! This weekend I had Saturday morning coffee with Andrew Dobson. He’s the blogger babe behind dobbernation.com and regular writer for Metro News Canada. We checked out the rainbow crosswalks in The Village and gabbed about adventure. It’s so lovely to chat one on one with a friend in the sun. I almost got a ticket from this hot cop but told him I was getting a photo and jumped in the car with a smile. Toronto Pride is extra special this year because it’s World Pride and we’re hosting! I’ve been going to Pride since Dad took Jenie and I when we were kids. Have some really great moments and blogged about them around this time last year.  From now to the end of the month is crazy time w/MMVA, NXNE , Pop Up Perrier, 2 speaking gigs AND Pride. I’ll have heaps of stories to share and it will feel great when July long weekend rolls around. Here’s a few of my fav photos from Toronto Pride over the years. Thank googness for Google! All the pride photos I’ve every posted rounded up in one quick search. Toronto Pride Memories Jenie + Me, Stewart sister power! Last year w/ Sean on Church Street With love, CASIE

Toronto Pride 2013

Toronto Pride was a blast on Sunday. Danced in the street, had some drinks, and saw heaps of familiar faces. Ran into my sister on Church! Met a lovely deaf couple on a patio and fully had a conversation. It was nice to put my sign language skills to use. My ASL used to be pretty good but when you don’t use it, you lose it. This lovely boy on the left is my friend from Ted Baker’s 25th birthday party. Renaldo and I have photos from the last few years at Pride. Always with the great outfits! Love these outfits. Want one. Do NOT love his shoes. Those things creep me out. These animals really creeped me out. The rest of the photos below are less safe for work so this is your warning! Hope you had a lovely long weekend. Much love and light, <3 CASIE

A Brief Look at Toronto Pride History

I’m IN the parade this year for ShaSha Bread Co. Love their ginger snaps & everything else.  Gonna be amazing. I have to go early to learn our choreography for the show. First time actually being ON a float. Our routine has to do with water umbrellas and babes. Get ready for it! I’m stoked. Best Pride hair evahhh. Pride 2007 w/ my sis & Randy.  We got lots of media that year, global attention. Pride 2008 w/ parade leader & Kory. Omg we had so much fun this year. The lovely Ricardo. Look at my shoes here, WTF CASIE? Blackberry too. Eww. 2009 Pride was a real ‘party hard’ year. I had a crazy party animal BF at the time. Pink hair too. Saw Cindy Lauper last tear at Pride 2010. Hit the parade w/ my sis as usual. Saw Jazen & Erica. So tall, giants! Will see my sister today. Weee. We used to have buttons that say “I love my Gay sister”. Gotta get ready & head to rehearsal!!!!!! See ya on the streets. red (life) orange (healing) yellow (sunlight) green (nature) blue (harmony) purple(spirit) P.S. Say HI to my new girlfriend.

Day 254: Get Up, Dress Up, Show Up

My marketing professor in college used to say this to us. Each day we had her class, she expected us all to dress like we were going to work. I have always loved a good outfit and dressing nice for school was something I took pride in. Even though I’m not going anywhere or seeing anyone, I like to dress up on Monday to start the week feeling good. Today I did my hair, put on makeup, and a dress. Each time I popped downstairs my dress fluttered around like I was flying. A simple pleasure. I felt great all day and had a wonderful burst of creativity in the afternoon before my last meeting. I don’t dress up every day but in my experience, putting on a great outfit is usually a great way to make yourself feel better. By Friday, I’m usually in a cozy outfit with messy hair and no makeup, but it’s the end of the week. ? I finally looked up the quote! Turns out, the full text is “no matter how you feel, get up, dress up, show up, and never give up.” It’s by NYT best-selling author Regina Brett and I am now following her on Twitter. Isn’t the Internet great?!

Day 201: Dinner Date – Kibo Secret Garden

I had an incredible dinner at Kibo’s Sushi’s newest location, Kibo Secret Garden, an intimate, high-end omakase and sushi house in Yorkville. They have 23 locations in the GTA! Kibo Market in the Junction Triangle (near our place) is definitely a local favourite. I was excited to hang out with Natalie and attend my first dinner event in a LONG TIME. We wore masks and were socially distanced from other diners & staff. We sat at the omakase bar and had a great view of the dinner served by Chef Jin, with barriers between us and other guests. Omakase is a Japanese phrase meaning ‘I leave it up to you’ that describes the traditional Japanese dining style where the culinary experience is left in the hands of the chef. We also enjoyed their selection of Japanese sake and beer. ? Dinner Details The menu highlights the highest-quality fish, seafood, and premium-grade meats. Bo Seo, CEO & Founder, takes pride in only serving fish within 24 hours of its catch. We had the 20-course dinner omakase, starting with Kobacka Soup (sweet pumpkin & rice), Hirame nigiri (Japan), Kurodai (black seabream, Turkey), Kanpachi Nigiri (Japan), Madai Nigiri (red snapper, Japan). Next, we had a round of sashimi with king salmon, fluke, bluefin tuna, yellowtail, mackerel, and amberjack. Honestly, it was so good. Other items on our menu included bluefin tuna belly, ika (squid), oyster, Wagyu Beef, lobster, prawn, black cod, and sea eel from Japan. I haven’t had much sushi the past few months and everything was an absolute treat. The presentation was also incredible. I reckon it was the fanciest sushi dinner I’ve ever had. “Everything from the location to the design, to the menu has been thoughtfully chosen to create a luxury sushi dining experience. I can’t wait to welcome people in!”  Simeon…

Day 105: A Fear of Impending Doom

I took a selfie and didn’t realize how dark the sky had gotten. Sean is inside Canadian Tire while I wait in the car. We’re meeting someone at McDonald’s in 20 min to buy some lights for the cottage.  I’ve felt anxious for days. I’m tired. Yesterday I napped for almost four hours, today I napped for one. I hardly ever take naps, I guess my body is exhausted? It’s Pride today and it’s gone online like everything these days. Last year we were in the parade with Telus. A couple of years ago we were on the Netflix float with the cast of Orange is The New Black. I’m finding it hard to locate happiness, I have to actually put down my phone and look for it outside in the world. The phone is full of things that stress me out. I watched CP24 today and there is a lot of gun violence, riots, fighting, sickness, and death. It’s hard to handle. I’m grateful I saw my family on Friday. It makes me smile just thinking about hugging and laughing together in the sun.  Jen Kirsch published an article in The Star that pretty much summed up how I’m feeling. Been thinking about how she mentioned the anxiety we feel with this pandemic, the risk, the guilt, sadness, regret. Going out, seeing people, did we say/do the right thing? I feel some guilt that after about 80 days of blogging, I’m behind on 10 days. But then again, that’s pretty amazing I blogged that much at all! Can’t feel guilty, gotta let it go, it’s ok.  The sky cleared up a bit and the sun is out. Sean is walking to the car and we have 7 min to meet the guy.  Everything is gonna be ok.

Been Using Miracle 10 for 3 Months – Here’s My Results!

I get heaps of beauty products and I try to use them all but, I only have one face. I often share them with mum, my sisters or friends. A couple months ago I was invited to The 10 Spot to try out Miracle 10 and get a mani. In searching email I found out that I was first contacted in 2013 about this product, created by a Canadian skin care company and developed by The Plastic Surgery Skincare Clinic Inc. I kinda suck at sticking to a beauty regime but I gave Miracle 10  try for 2 months and actually documented my face as it changed. This product was gifted to me and I didn’t have to blog about it BUT I noticed a difference and since I took all those selfies I owe it to myself to share!

After 5 Years, We’re Taking Our Relationship Next Level…

It’s with great pride I announce my official Ambassadorship with Telus!  Over the past five years I’ve worked with Telus on a number of things (see here) and they’ve helped me out with service, covered roaming, and been there every single time I’ve lost/destroyed my phone.  This week they announced #TeamTelus, 15 hand selected bloggers from across the country. “The Team TELUS line up stars 15 awesome, interesting, smart, creative, down-to-earth, caring and stylish personalities from across the country. To recognize Team TELUS for their support, we are providing them with mobile (and in B.C. and Alberta, Optik TV) service, devices, VIP access to events and reader giveaways.” Read more about TeamTelus here and get to know the rest of the group! Tonight we’re all celebrating our awesomeness at TELUS HQ in Toronto. Earlier today a couple of my Telus peeps showed up with a HUGE box of goodies to welcome me to the team. My welcome box was picked specially for me and includes a few things they knew I’d love including a new Ted Baker iPhone case (my brands are colliding!), Kate Spade portable charger (fashion + tech together), selfie stick (obvious one there!), a gold Shine fitness/sleep tracker (wearables!), a Bluetooth speaker, chocolates, and a Shoppers gift card.  I’m really happy to make it official after working together since 2010. My first EVER mobile phone was with Telus back in the 90’s when they were Clearnet. I’m excited to see what fun adventures and things I’ll be covering with the team this year. Check out the rest of TEAM TELUS here. TIME TO CELEBRATE! CASIE
