H1N1 ~ HINI = hiney = haha :P ( flu+who)

I’m going to the TFC game today with a friend. Excited and dressed the part. My friend has a TFC scarf for me so I can really be ‘in’ it. I’ve been once before but this is birthday related which makes it better. This picture wants to be on it’s head. I’m not fighting it. I think that H1N1 is a better name for the flu but it also looks like ‘hini’ which sounds like ‘hiney’ which rhymes with swiney which is funny. And the flu was named by the WHO. Make the connection. I did. Stephen Harper called it the Mexican Flu the other day. I LMFAO. Had breakfast at School in Liberty Village. They’re kinda slow and the patio wasn’t open. I like the way it looks there. Very schooley. I was at the CONTACT opening last night. Will

what a beauty she was

I had an awesome weekend. I’m digging that I’m not making myself feel like I have to blog on the weekend. Now that it’s springy and warm outside I want to get out and enjoy it. Really, really gotta get my bike on the road. I’m wearing open toed shoes today. The Gladiators. Today is Samuel Morse birthday and Google’s logo is in Morse code. I dig it. I’ve thought about getting a poem I wrote tattooed in Morse code. I like the way it looks.Cara and I went to Frock Swap on Saturday afternoon near Kensington. It was lovely. I snagged a few nice dresses. I’m lucky that so many vintage dresses are mini and they fit me just right. I always find a few jems. I wore these Pooh’s on my head while I was there. I liked them, they made me feel cool. I wore a strapless long dress tho show the shoulders to the sun. They got some love for sure. I also picked up a few new pairs of glasses. Necessary to have about a zillion pairs. I lose/break a few each year and I’ve got a drawer full of backups. Happy that the sun came out to play.

gone beserk!!!!!!!!

I’ve been called crazy more times than I care to count. So, when I wanted something really unique and crazy couture I could only think of Peach Beserk. If you’re the kind of kid who doesn’t like to be seen wearing the same things as someone else or you’re looking for that unique, stylish prom dress, get it there. You can have whatever you like printed, fitted and made just for you. I ordered an Edie Sedgwick print stretch dress for my birthday in May. I had an awesome time just being in the shop and learning. I took part in drawing a design, making the screen and then using the paint to do my very first screen print. I have a feeling this could become my new favorite. Imagine the freedom! My dress had been worn a few times and I carefully put my little design & name on it. PB has heaps of famous ladies wearing their stuff including Jennifer Love-Hewitt, Portia de Rossi, Bif Naked, Caroline Rhea, and Miss Paula Abdul among others. I kinda wished I was back in high school so I could make a crazy print prom dress and show all the kids that I was cooler than them. I remember I wore pants to one once and that was a real shocker back then. Peach Beserk just recently launched an online dress designer. They also ship to anywhere in the world, so don’t be shy if you’re not from Toronto. If you didn’t check it out when I first told you, check it out now! You will love it. I do.

something sweet in the air

Tonight I am meeting with the team of organizers for Pay it Backward day, which is on Saturday at 1pm. It’s going to be a fun Saturday afternoon! I hope to see lots of peeps out for a good cause and great fun. There are lots of sponsors and entertainment planned. Sign up on FB. I’ll be there, being myself and having fun of course. I wonder who’s bringing the Bailey‘s for my coffee? Or just anything sweet really. Saying that I would really love someone to bring a baileys anyway. I’d definitely love it if someone brought a Baileys Red Velvet drink for me to try. That would be very sweet. Although I guess I just have to wait and see what happens. Hopefully someone will see my hint about the baileys though! I am joking before anyone asks, it would just be a rather lovely thing for someone to bring! More importantly though, you should all make sure that you can come to the Pay it Backword day, it would mean so much so many people, so it’s really worthwhile doing. I can guarantee that it will be a fun Saturday afternoon! So bring your kids, bring you whole family and just be prepared to have fun! I know that I will certainly enjoy myself… particuarly if someone brings me some Baileys… Today is the birthday of my favorite Toronto Blogger, Raymi the Minx. If you don’t know her, you should. She is the best diarist and has the awards to prove it. I saw these cupcakes while I was getting groceries at lunch and captured them all to send through the Internet to Raymi and wish her a Happy 26th Birthday!

Today is Barbie’s 50th Birthday. I love Barbie. I still have all mine from when I was little including two corvettes, hair salon, house, TONS of clothes, accessories, shoes and much more. My favorite Barbie is Peaches & Cream. This is Hawaiian Beach Barbie wearing the Peaches & Cream Dress from 1984. She looks so great. Who’d know she was 50! I’m keeping all my Barbie clothes so I can have them made for me one day. I have heaps of gorgeous vintage dresses! Lucky for me there is now a whole line of Barbie clothing coming out. The Barbie blog has all the details and is written by Barbie. This week Jeopardy is featuring a category on Barbie TONIGHT for her birthday! Barbie is also on Twitter. Yahooo!

what the cool kids are doing these days

Partying! Imagine a sexy downtown loft filled with hot, young, internet innovators and cool kids. Dancing to downtown beats and raising glasses to each other…sounds good doesn’t it. Last night I had the pleasure of attending #GenyTO Meetup #2 at the Centre for Social Innovation. It was awesome. The bar was bubbling over with booze and there was even a movie premiere for Toronto’s 175 birthday (video below). This time the crowd was even larger as we joined forces with the SXSW & CanLIT groups. The #Genyto meetup/tweetup brings together some of the most creative and ambitious young people from the Toronto startup, marketing, PR and tech communities. For all the photos check my Flickr photo stream ♥ TO in 6 Words from Suresh on Vimeo.

Got an eye for Google, a good idea?

(CNN) — Got an idea that could change the world, or at least help a lot of people? Google wants to hear from you — and they’ll pay as much as $10 million to make your idea a reality. Google Inc. will award $10 million to solicit ideas it believes could benefit the world. To help celebrate its 10th birthday, the ambitious Internet giant is launching an initiative to solicit, and bankroll, fresh ideas it believes could have broad and beneficial impact on people’s lives. Called Project 10^100 (pronounced “10 to the 100th”), Google’s initiative will seek input from the public and a panel of judges in choosing up to five winning ideas, to be announced in February.Google announced the project live on CNN on Wednesday morning. “These ideas can be big or small, technology-driven or brilliantly simple — but they need to have impact,” said Google in a press release. “We know there are countless brilliant ideas that need funding and support to come to fruition.” Rest of article………….
