one of my favorite ones

This is a photo of one of my pieces I did with pastels. It is called ‘Strike Out in a Different Direction‘. It is full of light, energy, attraction, fire & passion. This is one of my most expensive ones because I like it the most. I think I will keep forever, unless an offer comes along I can not resist!! I’m planning on doing some painting this weekend. Looks like rain is on its way and thatinspires me to make art.

dear memory, please pick up your socks and get to work!

I don’t remember where it came from. I think I was watching a movie or something? If you know please inform me, I have a bad memory, as you already know. I drew this sketch as I was watching [insert movie here]. There is a chance it was not in a movie and it was my real life or something that really happened. This, I may never know. I over heard “anyone deemed rich enough to plant their own orange trees“. I think it means if you can plant your own orange trees, you aren’t doing too bad. I’ve never had an orange tree. Granddad had passion fruit trees in NZ, now that’s my favorite. I guess a passion fruit tree would mean you’re living a passionate & sweet life!

sharing the randomness – 25 casie facts

This has been floating around Facebook since January. I figured since I’ve been tagged by a ton of friends it is about time I shared 25 random facts about me. The rules go as follows: Once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. Blah, blah, blah… Here we go: I was born in Canada to New Zealand parents and have dual citizenship (Canadian/New Zealand). I danced ballet, tap and jazz as a kid and completed in competitions across Ontario as well as Showstopper in NY & Myrtle Beach, SC. I was 5 with fake lashes and red lipstick! I wrote a book and became a published Canadian Author at 14. It was titled Jeans: An Anthology of Poetry and Prose. The Toronto Star wrote and article about me titled “Push Over Keats, Teen Muse Steps Ahead“. I went to Uni in Australia and lived at Bondi Beach. It was the best year because I learned the most about myself and WHO I really am. I hate scary movies. I get queezy and I don’t like to put bad images in my head. I’m crazy enough already! I still have all my Barbies and their vintage outfits. I hope to get them made in my size one day. I have a Green Belt in Tae Know Do and once knocked out a boy (Note: James Roszell) in grade 8 at school. Mum thought I’d get in trouble but I said “Mum, do you think he’s gonna tell anyone?“ I hate the number three. I don’t do anything in threes. I grew up around vintage cars and vintage clothes. My Dad…

why pay for school when you can educate for free

I have a confession to make and am doing it publicly for education’s sake. I went to university and college over 4.5 fun filled years. I am a big fan of education and educate myself every single day. While I was in post secondary school, I rarely bought any books. I learned most the stuff I needed to pass class online; yes from the Internet. This is the library I where I used to hang out. By doing this I saved money for other important things which I am sure you can imagine. I also chose which classes I attended very carefully; the mandatory ones with attendance and quizzes. Be careful if you choose to take this route, it can be dangerous, it involves a lot of self-motivation and self-study that other people just don’t actually ‘see’ happening. In other words, I got into a few scraps with several students over how the hell I got the grade with no books while skipping class. It takes work. That’s how I did it. My thirst for knowledge has always run strong and this carried me through school. Stay tuned into things you like, follow your passions. One of my dear friends sent me this great vid called Five Minute University. Law School sounds like an option for me I reckon. Enjoy!

Give the Gift of Giving

My friend Andrew is doing amazing things this year! Daniel is 20 years old and really making a difference in our world. Check out his inspiring interview on Daytime. The most touching part I found in the interview is that he sent out messages to about 15 people and went off to school and work and later that day over 1,000 people had been invited to attend the Networking for a Cause event. As I have shown with my actions and will continue to, it only takes one voice to start a movement. Another reason to watch, Daniel has an adorable accent!! To RSVP to Networking for a Cause to benefit families in need and the Hospice of Peel go here. You will have the opportunity to speed network with other business people, entrepreneurs and professionals and support a great cause. Included in the $20 minimum donation is a drink ticket, hors d’oeuvres and the opportunity to network with other conscious and compassionate business people. All the proceeds will go towards the inaugural Give the Gift of Giving program which will use the donations to help families affected by terminal illness enjoy a Christmas dinner or buy gifts for the children of the family. Read the stories of hope for the families we are reaching out to! For more information visit the Give the Gift of Giving site ♥

WHAT IS M O V E M B E R ?

“Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a moustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for men’s health.” The Movember Foundation was started in Australia in 2004. It is a not for profit, charitable organization that implements a month long event called Movember each year in the month of November. Movember’s goal is to raise awareness around men’s health issues and raises funds charities chosen by each country involved, focussing primarily on prostate cancer. Before the Movember movement, prostate cancer was pretty unknown and not talked about. Now, due to the raised awareness, it is hoped that men know the signs and when to access help. Symptoms don’t usually present themselves until the cancer has grown big enough to put pressure on the urethra, which then causes issues with needing to urinate more frquently and having issues when urinating. If you suspect you may have prostate cancer, it is highly advised that you visit a urologist like Advanced Urology who will handle your situation with care and compassion, and talk you through diagnosis and treatment methods. However, these symptoms don’t automatically mean prostate cancer, although it is advised that you visit a urologist anyway to find the cause (which usually involves prostate enlargement). Movember unites men and encourages discussions on any prostate related topic. Even discussing remedies such as prostagenix is encouraged. Additionally, by raising awareness about prostate health, it is hoped that more men will be encouraged to get in touch with a doctor if they notice any issues so that any ailments can be addressed and treated. For example, although an enlarged prostate can be a sign of cancer, sometimes this enlargement can be benign. Above all, it can sometimes be reassuring to learn that the risk of prostate cancer…

For You ♥

The Love A courtship started with a midnight kiss, You touched the heart in me like an old French love song Waking to the morning sun, your arms around me tight, You set my soul on fire; you make things look bright We shine, a glimpse, O’ what life could be! Laughter, love, a passionate tale… My reflection in the mirror, yet I see you there? Full of greatness, it’s you, I love me. As the days go by, somehow I know, Over the rainbow, my gold, You’ll be there.

Let Them Eat Cake!

Edible Marc Jacobs. Amazing. A dear friend, Roxanne is the best cake maker I have ever, ever seen. This Marc Jacobs bag is really a cake, everything is edible on this cake, even the tags are food coloring printed on icing sheets! Roxanne has an incredible talent and passion for custom designing cakes. As I look through the photos of the many, many designs Roxanne has created I am increasingly surprised at the magnitude of talent. Each cake she makes is a masterpiece of confectionery and cake. Her website is beautifully created like each unique item she makes. I have many times opened the site, browsed through the sweet treats and listened to the elegant music that accompanies the creativity. It is with great pleasure and sincerity that I share this with you. Roxanne has a private cake studio in Leaside, Toronto where she offers designer cakes, one-of-a-kind cupcakes, custom sculpted cakes and edible marketing solutions. Her collection is a like a fashion show of couture cakes. And that in itself, is something I truly love. She has mastered the arts of sculpting cakes, mixing colour, and moulding sugar into everything from fresh flowers to fine leather. I encourage that you check out her website and if you have a sweet tooth or event requiring a special touch of class and creativity, contact her & make an appointment.

”she’s gonna grow up and write a book about you”

I remember when I was a kid and someone saying to my mother, “she’s gonna grow up and write a book about you if you’re not careful”. This book is about everything. All of me. I’m choosing today to finally put together my second book. I wrote my first book entitled JEANS, An Anthology of Poetry & Prose in 1996. It was co-written with a now distant friend and we published it ourselves at the age of 14. I figure that if I could do that at 14 then I can definitely do this now. I had taken time away from my writing for a period of approximately six years. Until, one day while sitting in on a friends class in university I began writing again. I was inspired. I was inspired by the room, the professor, and by the people around me whom I did not even know. It was as if I had been reborn and shed a new light on the world. It was back, never lost, I started writing again. Suddenly, I needed to express my thoughts. And so my pencil ran on paper twill and I just couldnt stop it. I have spent the last few years composing this compilation of my work. I have traveled, and matured greatly over the last few years, which has brought out some truly passionate writing. This book is a collection of short stories, poetry, and prose, which are all original works of art by me. I hope that you can enjoy this book and share it with friends the way that I have shared it with you.
