Make Your Skin Glow w/ Dermalogica’s Little Grey Pass

For the past few months I’ve been visiting spas around the city that use Dermalogica’s professional line of products and getting facials with their Little Grey Pass program. I was invited to be an ambassador for Dermalogica and to share my experience with you. My first Dermalogica facial was in the middle of winter (March) and my skin was so dry and dull. Since then, I’ve switched to a heavier moisturizer and added vitamins & toner to my routine. A few of my fav items below! Dermalogica’s Little Grey pass is a great way to treat yourself and improve your skin. My skin has really improved, it’s more radiant and I find myself wearing less makeup. How to Get on the Little Grey Pass train: Register at greypass.dermalogica.ca (open to Toronto + Vancouver) Call a Little Grey Skincare Centre listed on your pass (once you get it of course!) Visit spa & purchase a 60 min spa facial Get  stamps & receive products like a full size Pre-Cleanse (love this product!) The more stamps, the more goodies for you! Share your experience on social by tagging @dermalogicaCDN + #LittleGreyPass. Have great skin! (The most important part!) A few of my favs @DermalogicaCDN. Have you gotten a #LittleGreyPass yet? Hook yourself up! http://t.co/W6XZEGGsEr pic.twitter.com/ASeMRyQba1 — CASIE STEWART (@casiestewart) August 20, 2014 Planning my next facial post-TIFF. Mellow Yellow Monday

It’a super nice out today. I took off my jacket to snap some photos on my way to work and the sun was already beating down. I heard it might get up to 20 today. It’s about time I start using my Canon DSLR now that it’s nice out. Last summer I was just getting to learn how to use it as an ambassador w/ Canon for the Canon Blogtography program. I’m happy these pants still fit, I really need to get my summer bod rockin’. Since the winter was so long and cold I managed to stay inside and hibernate for months which also meant a million movies, snacks, takeout. These jellies were sent to me by Narrative PR & Call It Spring, I feel like a kid when I wear them. Especially with my backpack on. It’s a great feeling really 🙂   Our quick visit to the cottage yesterday was ok, the lake is still frozen and it’s still winter up there. The snowbank was too high to put the car in the driveway.  The water is going to be so cold this year! Luckily I have my garden at our house in the city to work on before getting into full cottage mode. It’s much more fun up there when it’s warm! Thinking of my friends in Boston and everyone in the marathon today. Last year Sean and I were in Boston that weekend and downtown right were the bombings happened the day before. I knew a couple people running and it was pretty scary. I hope everything today goes fine ad everyone is safe. Thinking I’ll venture out into the sun over lunch, check out the hood. Try and find a good photo spot, maybe read some of my book. Have a few cool things…

Where do we find the will and the courage to continue?

This is one of my fav songs on one of my fav all time albums. This weekend I sat alone, late and at the cottage kitchen table writing, finally working on that book I’m been talking about, and finally doing some web stuff I’ve been avoiding. It wasn’t until I slowed down, I realized how fast I was going. I’ve always liked MIA but “Live fast, Die Young” isn’t in my creative “take over the world” plan.  If I’m ever having a bad day, I go put on Lisa Loeb – Tails or White Stripes – Elephant. I love those albums. This is Dad and I doing the CN Tower Eggewalk about a year ago, almost to the day. It was so awesome. This Makes Me Happy When problems overwhelm, us and sadness smothers us, where do we find the will and the courage to continue? Well, the answer may come in the caring voice of a friend, a chance encounter with a book, or from a personal faith. For Janet help came from her faith, but it also from a squirrel. Shortly after her divorce, Janet lost her father, then she lost her job. She had mounting money problems. But Janet not only survived, she worked her way out of despondency and now she says, life is good again. How could this happen? She told me that late one Autumn day when she was at her lowest she watched a squirrel storing up nuts for the winter, one at a time he would take them to the nest. And she thought, if that squirrel can take care of himself with the harsh winter coming along, then so can I. Once I broke my problems into small pieces I was able to carry them, just like those acorns, one at a time.…

I’m a model you know what I mean (part deux)

It’s heart month and I’m feeling lovely. I have heaps going on this month and next and hopefully till the end of time. I love being busy.  The most hustle in Winter means more fun for summer I reckon. On Feb. 20th I’m in a fashion show during Ottawa Fashion Week with a whole bunch of famous Canadians. Yeah, ME! Crazy, eh?  The show is for Unicef and the other models are Gabrielle Miller (Corner Gas/Call Me Fitz), Rosey Edeh (ET Canada), Tré Armstrong (So You Think You Can Dance Canada), Erica Wark (CBC’s Steven and Chris), Leesa Butler (f-list.ca), Elizabeth Manley (Olympic Silver Medalist), Gail McInnes (TDot TV), Cory Lee (Degrassi), TL Rader (Professional Ballroom Dancer), and Solange Tuyishime (UNICEF Canada Ambassador). I’m not sure who I’m wearing yet but I’m hoping for something really glamourous. We’re taking the train to our nations capital and staying at a hotel for the weekend. I’ve never taken a long train ride and I know there is wifi so like, that’s the part I’m most excited for. WHAT A NERD. Oh well! I’ve done heaps of fashion shows in my life (so far) so walking the runway for charity is a total pleasure. I was going to post the most obvious song but I did once already so I started looking for model songs. Then I looked at models and ended up at this, which is sexy, with models, and right in time for the superbowl. I’m actually going to a real super bowl party on Sunday. I’ve never been to one before! I don’t think? No. Do you see now why I love Valfre so much? I always hug my besties when I see them. Hugs are good.  I must rush to a fancy steak house lunch presentation for a client which will then be followed by another lunch with a…

xylophones and zebras

i don’t always have coffee but sometimes i do. i make patterns in some things and avoid them in others. i like to avoid doing things in sequence that seem predictable. like smoking for example. i rarely smoke at work or during the day. not that it makes it any better. i love croissants. plain. butter. i don’t mind so much when it rains. it’s like winter, you have to dress for it.  wellies are obvious.  sabrina said ‘you have so many’ rain jackets. that’s because when it rains i get sad sometimes and when i have a nice jacket to wear i shift my perception that day and go ‘yes! i get to wear my rain coat’. it’s about perception. thunder roar and lightning bolt. when i was studying kabbalah i learned about shifting how i traditionally look at things and seeing them from different angles. when you step outside your comfort level or normal behavior and look at things differently, you create open space for positivity in your life.  you just gotta stay focused.  you just gotta stay focused. this is what my cup said today, so true. the way i see it #297 When I was young I was mislead by flash cards into believing that xylophones and zebras were much more common.

Giving is the Best Gift EVER!!

Last night I volunteered at an event I have mentioned several times to benefit of the Hospice of Peel. Networking for a Cause was a great success! I was selling tickets and spreading good cheer and THAT was the most fun I could have had. After work I was feeling a bit down as I have a very close family member who has recently been in hospital and yesterday had to return for some tests which was very scary. I was not feeling like my energetic self. However, instead of staying home and feeling sad, down, or upset, I put on my winter gear and headed over to 244 Adelaide to help out with the event. This opened an HUGE opportunity for sharing and giving. I was instantly filled with joy to help others and raise money for families affected by terminal illness to enjoy a Christmas dinner or buy gifts for the children of the family. It is a true fact that giving is its own gift. I gave my time and in return, (without asking) I received so much joy that everything else wonderful about the night was a genuine blessing. I met some great people and look forward to building those relationships. Here’s to the holidays!! Give & life!! All the proceeds raised go directly towards the inaugural Give the Gift of Giving program. To learn more visit the Gift of Giving site here.
