Hey lovelies. It’s been a busy month with heaps of events, NXNE, MMVA,  Vancouver, and Montreal. I’m dying to get back up to the cottage and will be doing so after Red Bull’s Solstice event at Cabana Pool Bar on Friday night. I was there last weekend, it’s a pretty sliiiiiiick summer party spot. The best part of the whole night are the after parties. Summer 2012: These Are A Few of My Favourite Things

As I was looking at photos I remembering heaps of cool things I did over the past few months. I am so thankful for the Internet, Twitter, Instagram etc. cause I could forgotten moments if I wasn’t constantly documenting. I started blogging in 2005 as a way to ‘keep more memories’, seven years later it’s the best thing I could have done. It works as a constant reminder to be grateful & show gratitude for all the wonderful people & experiences in my life. These are some of my favourite things I’ve done in the last few hot months. Summer Highlights 2012: Muskoka Weekends & Boating. Montreal weekend. Skydiving in Boston. Harley Riding. Outdoor Rock climbing w/ Ford & Bloggers. Beerfest w/ Carly & Lauren. Partying w/ the girls. Filming w/ Coral TV & growing the channel to over 1,000 subscribers & 125,000+ views! Hanging out w/ Mum. Driving on the Ford Track in Michigan w/ media from around the world. Oh and this guy 😉 Speaking at NXNE. NXNE Parties MMVA Show, Gifting lounges, & parties Banff World Media Festival, first time out West! Birthday falling on the same day at Hawaii’s company launch Being a Production Assistant on a short film in Orangeville. Hitting the beaches in Miami & Ft. Lauderdale, Florida Doing the Edgewalk of the Cn Tower w/ Dad Working w/ O’Nizz & Raymi for Menkes, video is 20,000+ views now! The next few weeks are super busy. I’m realxing this weekend in preparation for FNO, Fashion Cares, ten days of TIFF and end of September activities. Here we go!

Speaking today at NXNE, two panels back to back from 9-11am. Here are some things I found from SXSW earlier this year. Simple but good to keep in mind, esp. if this is your first rodeo. My favorite things from this list: – Stay on topic – Always respect the audience The audience is giving you their time to hear about a topic. You can talk about yourself the rest of the day! Perform your knowledge, be yourself. Schedule & description: There is a huge opening party for NXNE Interactive tonight. Imma need to schedule a nap I reckon. Naps are key. This is the big rig that will be travelling across the country seeing millions of people go through the Ultimate Pepsi Taste Challenge. It converts from a truck to a full on Pepsi station to hang out in. They call it “Poptimus Prime“. This time last year I was hosting my own little Pepsi party for Pepsi Throwback. I’m sure you remember THIS: The team has a whole bunch of stuff planned and there’s a good chance you’ll run into their young energetic group assembled with people from across Canada. This is a full 360 of what I saw at the media preview taken from iPhone. You’ll notice they’re really using technology to make the ol’ taste test we knew as kid, super modern. Hey look, Shannon was on the board as I was AT the challenge! TALK ABOUT SOCIAL! In the afternoon I caught the Bud Light Mojito truck giving out free beers. Rumour has it they will be around MuchMusic all month and near King Spadina. Two drinks, perfect for afternoon stop in the park. When you are on the go 25/8/366 you are likely to run out of iPhone battery. Bobcat from Boston sent me this rad charger for my birthday. Charge at home, keep in purse for on the go. It gives you about two hours talk time. Essential for beach party, park chilling and boat rides. Made by Brookstone. Next stop was William’s Landing in Liberty Village for the launch of Somersby Cider by Carlsberg. This is the Carlsberg man John Porter. Cute accent! LISTEN TO IT HERE: Psychology of Narcissism & How It Affects Brands I listened to it last night, I think you will like it. I make a couple jokes half way through and the discussion really gets going there. I mention a few brands and we all get some info from Dr. Jacob Small and clinical psychotherapist from New York. It’s about an hour with the final Q&A. Let me know what you think. I’m doing a similar talk about psychology, narcissism and brands in July at NXNE. Read this article today by Brian Solis on paidcontent.org. He’s a leader in the world of digital communication and I really like reading his stuff.    He does a lots of studies on charging markets and research etc. Here’s a few excerpts. I’d say give it a read if you are a brand, a blogger, a robot or a human. Some good meat in the report.  “Digital influence is one of the hottest trends in social media and it is also one of the least understood. Like some relationships on Facebook, “it’s complicated.” Klout, PeerIndex, Kred and many others are investing millions of dollars to understand how our social media activity translates into influence. Within the last 90 days alone, Klout took in a Series C of $30 million from Kleiner Perkins at a whopping valuation of $200 million. PeerIndex also recently announced aninvestment of $3 million. The market for influence is only heating up with more entrants expected to debut and acquisitions or mergers likely on the horizon.” Scores do not matter as much as the context of relationships Brands need to take responsibility for translating these numbers into insights Businesses need to develop meaningful social influence strategies and define desired outcomes. Speaking | BRANDS & NARCISSISM, SXSW

I chuckle to myself at this title and the fact that I’m called upon to talk about the psychology of narcissism and how it affects brands. I know it has a lot to do with how technology and society have changed the way we communicate but it’s still kinda funny. I reckon Mum thinks it’s funny too. I’ve not changed much since I was a kid, seriously. Our SXSW panel was really awesome. The room was packed, we had great discussion and there were lots of questions following. I enjoyed meeting psychotherapist Dr. Jacob Small and discussing my own ‘personality disorder’ and how narcissism is extremely prevalent in todays society. During our panel I learned that Narcissism as a clinical disorder is being removed from ‘the book’ and added as merely a symptom of other personality disorders. Good looking panel, eh? 🙂 It was ADVANCED Level. Oh yeah. Interestingly enough, a couple days before this panel I was written about in local Toronto weekly, The Grid about being an introvert then the very next day an extrovert. I definitely have both sides to my personality but I’m clearly a highly functioning crazy person. I’m speaking at NXNE in June about the same topic and hope you’ll be there to see it.
