My Bloggy Lies Over the Ocean

Oh hey, guess who? It’s me your friend from across the internet. Working away at the computer most the day. Monday is my ‘don’t leave the house and write as much as you can’ day. Spend a bunch of time sitting on the couch with my Macbook yesterday but fell into scrolling things on the phone, deep into a Netflix binge and did nothing from my To Do list. I find the weekends are really important for me to chill out. I used to blog every single day and it was really draining. Now, I aim for 5 posts per week and if I feel inspired to write a few more, good for me. The more documenting the better. Today when I did leave the house I was at Lit Espresso bar on Roncy and the staff were trying to name one of the girl’s blog. A staffer guy said ‘My Bloggy Lies Over the Ocean’ and I thought it was so funny, got totally distracted paying for my sweet treat. Title today inspired by that guy, good one buddy! These are my latest glasses from Polette Eyewear in France. I really love them, they sit high on the face and the thin frame is different than any other glasses I have. L’usine à lunettes by polette offers highly-competitive prices, no compromise on the quality. Frames from $9.99 to $49.99 and lenses from $9.99 to $89.99. I love that they have HEAPS of different selections. They’ve just launched E-Pollette, lenses that protect your eyes from screens. SO SMART. Ordering those next. catching waves & feeling the power of the ocean

Feeling like I have heaps on my plate. You know that feeling? Yeah. Good thing I enjoy making lists and checking things off.  I’m going back & forth planning my trip to Costa Rica and haven’t event started to face the car situation. My coffee is cold. Insurance, licence plate, kinda overwhelming considering I’ve never had a car. I’d love to be outside right now. I should be getting in the shower, meeting in an hour. I spend so much time writing emails these days. Accounts receivable is a fun part of my job too. I hate math. I ate so much yesterday. I could use a visit to the gym. Wonder if I got mail today? Have a meeting this afternoon to get my first piece of MERCH. You gonna want it. Stoked.  Tonight is the Greta SS 2012 show. Toronto Fashion Week starts Monday. THIS IS MY LIFE> oh my gaga. When I get stressy I take a deep breath & think…I’ll be here this time next month 🙂 This is a good song: My girls at PinkMafia have an awesome Britney Prizepack to give away, contest closes on Thursday, October 13th and all you have to do is: Tweet @PINKMAFIA4LIFE your fave Brit lyric using the hashtag #BritPackPM and they’ll set you up with the most amazing prize pack ever. Have an awesome day, enjoy the sunshine!

boyfriend the ocean played live music for me

Best sleep of my life last night. Ocean, I love you. Your melodies were the perfect lullaby. Best bed ever. Huge wooden headboard is my love. So beautiful. Went walking Pensacola Beach by myself last night. It was so lovely. I had no idea the Gulf water was so warm. About to head to the beach now post brekky. Map of where I am here. This is the pier right outside my hotel. Remember the Gulf Oil Spill last year? Covered this same beach in tar balls for about eight miles. Same Pier. Oil came ashore on the beach overnight, and the waters were closed to the public. Geologists dug trenches aong the beach and there were veins of oil buried in approximately 4-6 inches of sand. Crazy eh. “It looked like tobacco spit and smelled foreign, and it pooled in yesterday’s footprints as far as you could see. State officials called it the worst show of crude on shore from the gusher 120 miles away.” Tampa Bay News It’s all clean now but still sad to look out my window to a beautiful view knowing it was once damaged by oil.Click for more photos or oil spill info. These kids were playing in this shell making shadows. I’m going to do that tonight. It was really cute. Passed by some bars but wasn’t in the mood for drinking. Hey Creep! Got the cutest bikini to compliment my pinup girl summer style. Love it. Saw this doggy in the window & had to have it 😉 This resto clearly has a sense of humor. haha Breakfast time then beach for this mama. Have an AWESOME DAY! xo CASIE

i touched the ocean, you touched my heart

Collected some sand before leaving the Cape. Very beautiful out today. Sun is warm, water is totally freezing. Really enjoyed our stay at the Fairbanks Inn. Had a nice chat with the couple who owns the place before we left. They were happy to learn I was a writer. Lots of famous writers have hung out in Provincetown since the 1900s. Looking up the history is sure to be inspiring! En route back to Boston now, might grab a bite with friends before checking into Boston Logan and catching Porter home. I succesfully did not drink or eat too much all weekend. Got a serious sweat on dancing last night. Closed out the night singing Katy Perry ‘Firework’ top my my lungs, grinding with a sexy gay boy. It has been too long since I did that! In love with my black & white saddle shoes. The originals were totally run down and the other day I said “I wanna get a new pair”. Twenty mins later we were walking on Newbury Street and Ellen saw these Vans. They were the very last pair, size 6 and I’d only seen them on the internet not IRL. Total jem I picked up this weeknd! Got a few other goodies too. Oh how I love traveling! Catch you at the airport. Happy Sunday, bon weekend! CASIE P.S. WTF Toronto, snow? Gah!

take me to the ocean and lose me forever

Hung out with my sis the other day. Quite hilarious when we hang out,  the older we get the more similar, we are,  especially our mannerisms and the way we talk. We spend half the time laughing out loud. For real. People always say we sound the same on the phone, especially our parents.  More and more we look similar  in photos, too, it’s totally crazy going through her pix.  It was so nice down by the lake and watching the sunset If you live her or near the water somehwere, go there more often. Jenie took this pic of me, haha. Pop’a colla. There’s nothing like hanging out with her. Our cousin is coming this week FROM NEW ZEALAND. First young cuzzy that’s been over this side of the planet since I was like ten. Super exciting. Hanging out in the beaches with Carly this afternoon. So nice and heaps of trees around,  much different than the concrete jungle where I spend mosta my days. ♥

Activate Stockyards: Largest Location in the World!

I recently went to the media opening of ACTIVATE Stockyards, their largest location in the world. IT WAS SO FUN! Sarah and I had a blast playing the games, my favs were the Mega Grid and Hoops (trivia + basketball). Check out all the games here, the laser game is like being in a spy movie or trying to rob a bank where you’re dodging lasers across the entire room. Activate is the world’s first interactive gaming facility and total TikTok viral sensation. Their latest spot is in the Stockyards area, following massive successes in Mississauga and Cambridge (my hometown!). Activate Stockyards is a massive facility spanning 19,218 square feet, with 19 unique game rooms, including the famous Mega Grid (my fav), Push with 452 light-up buttons and the precision-driven Strike game. ”We are thrilled to be bringing Activate’s largest location in history to Canada’s largest city, Toronto. This exciting new location is a fantastic addition to the vibrant Stockyards neighborhood. We can’t wait for Toronto’s bustling community to experience the largest entertainment concept in the world.” Adam Schmidt, Founder & CEO of Activate Highly recommend checking this out with friends, your partner, or family. one of the funniest things was when my Apple Watch thought I had taken a fall after diving to hide in one of the games. Prices start at $29.99 for 75 minutes of gameplay and they limit the number of people who can book at a certain time so it doesn’t get too busy. See packages and pricing on the website at playactivate.com. Running around for all the games was a great workout so 75 minutes is more than enough time to have fun. LMK if you check it out! Love to know what you think. Message me on Instagram here!

Pantone: Unlocking the Language of Branding and Culture

Earlier this year at SXSW in Texas, I had the opportunity to sit down with Elley Cheng, President of Pantone. In this exclusive interview, Cheng discussed the profound impact of colour on communication and branding + shared an exciting collaboration with Grammy-nominated Tierra Whack. I also had to ask her, what’s your fav colour?! Known for its widely used colour-matching system, Pantone sees colour as more than aesthetics, it’s a language that conveys emotions, messages, and brand identities. Colour and Culture After noticing that Elley wore Pantone shoes, we discussed evolving colour trends in culture and society. Elley pointed out that colours are constantly evolving, with their meanings shifting over time. For example, the evolution of pink illustrates a dynamic relationship between colour and culture, from gender norms to millennial pink, and the evolving brand of Barbie. “Color doesn’t stay static, just as culture doesn’t stay static,” Elley mentioned how pink has “gone through a vibe shift.” What was once a colour with limited gender connotations, pink now carries diverse and complex cultural significance. Understanding these cultural shifts is an important consideration for brands as they craft their identities and messages. As Cheng emphasized, “We want to showcase the way colour can express a thought, a brand’s meaning, or what they stand for. It’s the most direct and quickest way to hit the person’s psychology.” Building a Brand with Passion Elley highlighted Pantone’s role in facilitating communication through collaborations, such as the recent partnership with Grammy-nominated rapper Tierra Whack for her album release. Working with conceptual artist Alex Da Corte, a curated palette of colours was inspired by Whack’s persona and artistic vision. This collaboration is a testament to how colour can powerfully express a brand or person’s identity. “Color and culture are very strongly tied because one creates and…
