I’m a model you know what I mean (part deux)

It’s heart month and I’m feeling lovely. I have heaps going on this month and next and hopefully till the end of time. I love being busy.  The most hustle in Winter means more fun for summer I reckon. On Feb. 20th I’m in a fashion show during Ottawa Fashion Week with a whole bunch of famous Canadians. Yeah, ME! Crazy, eh?  The show is for Unicef and the other models are Gabrielle Miller (Corner Gas/Call Me Fitz), Rosey Edeh (ET Canada), Tré Armstrong (So You Think You Can Dance Canada), Erica Wark (CBC’s Steven and Chris), Leesa Butler (f-list.ca), Elizabeth Manley (Olympic Silver Medalist), Gail McInnes (TDot TV), Cory Lee (Degrassi), TL Rader (Professional Ballroom Dancer), and Solange Tuyishime (UNICEF Canada Ambassador). I’m not sure who I’m wearing yet but I’m hoping for something really glamourous. We’re taking the train to our nations capital and staying at a hotel for the weekend. I’ve never taken a long train ride and I know there is wifi so like, that’s the part I’m most excited for. WHAT A NERD. Oh well! I’ve done heaps of fashion shows in my life (so far) so walking the runway for charity is a total pleasure. I was going to post the most obvious song but I did once already so I started looking for model songs. Then I looked at models and ended up at this, which is sexy, with models, and right in time for the superbowl. I’m actually going to a real super bowl party on Sunday. I’ve never been to one before! I don’t think? No. Do you see now why I love Valfre so much? I always hug my besties when I see them. Hugs are good.  I must rush to a fancy steak house lunch presentation for a client which will then be followed by another lunch with a…

this one’s for the boys, you’re going to the spa!

I recently had the bext Friday afternoon escape from work ever, three hours at a SPA! Yep. I received a gift certiificate to ME Spa, not just any spa, Male Esthetics Spa that caters primarily to men. I showed up to this! Spa owner Douglas Coburn told me about his work and we picked a couple services while I sipped champagne & ate strawberries. First up was a full body scrub including face. It was so great do something good for my skin. Post scrub I went in to the bathtoom in a robe to wash off the scrub. You can kinda see it on my skin. After that I jumped into another even softer robe. I swear to you it was like being inside a stuffed animal, like one of those Gund or really expensive stuffed animals. I was already feeling less stress. Douglas used to be the Director of Esthetics at Bode Spa in Ottawa. A men’s spa is quite like any other (woman) spa except here they really know manscaping and how to ease stress of life in the city. I love hearing a guy I know got a manicure or pedicure. It shows you take care of yourself and that is sexy if you are man or woman.  If you are a dude who takes care of yourself, you will likley feel more confident. Then when you use that confidence to chat a beautiful lady, you won’t be self conscious about your unibrow, hairy back (god forbid shoulders), crackly feet, nose hairs (gross) ear hairs (ewww). Think how nice your manicured hand will look/feel on her…..    Yes. This is Douglas, super nice. I had rushed there and was all high-energy-crazy-internet-person, he was such a nice calm for my ADHD. He also writes for a magazine…

Come join us for a #genYTO #partio August 26th!

Mark your calendars cause on Thursday, August 26th it’s genYTO at The London Taphouse. They have graciously set aside a HUGE area for us on the roof patio starting at 8pm till late.  Snapped this pic on that same roof last summer,  sun setting is pure beauty. If you have never been to a genYTO night before, be prepared for awesomeness. It’s a group that was founded in January 2009 by Erin Bury, Dave Coleman, Renee Warren, Daniel Patricio and myself to combat the negative portrayals of generation Y in the media. Articles were floating around saying  we’re  self-absorbed, confused, spoiled, lazy, and entitled. Truth is – we are inspired and motivated to drive change in our world. Erin said it well on her blog: “We think we’re actually some of the most driven, hard-working and inspired people out there, so we decided to host a monthly event in Toronto to bring the GenY community out, share ideas, and of course share a couple beverages. The events now get over 100 people out each month and have inspired folks in Ottawa to found the GenYOTT events. “ This time we will have some special announcements.  Exciting stuff is happening behind the scenes with the GenYTO crew and we are looking forward to sharing that awesome with you. Get your tickets here. They’re free 🙂 Feel free to check out  the stuff we’ve done over the last couple years on Google or on my blog. If you would like to donate anything to enhance the experience, let me know. I’d be happy to get you involved. My Sims  Nintendo DS BFF Joey totally has the right idea. Have a great day! <3 CASIE

four and twenty, baked in a pie

Update: Ottawa had a Pot Protest yesterday. Check out this massive dube this guy is smoking that got him in the Metro. Nice one buddy! Canada is a wonderful country and Toronto a splendid city. Both are known places where people smoke marijuana regularly. Which is why you can always find cheap weed canada. Today is an extra rainy April day and also marks a day celebrated around the world in Cannabis culture known as 4:20 (four-twenty). Toronto has a pot friendly neighbourhood called Youngsterdam and a variety friendly places to smoke downtown. Each year in May there is a Global Marijuana March where people around the world protest for legalization and the right to smoke pot. This year’s event is Saturday, May 2nd. A few years ago I attended the Marijuana March at Queens Park. It was fun. There were over 20,000 people in the park celebrating so I figured, when in Rome!

Art ‘H’ Box Project presents…

FRANKIE RICH! South African born, Canadian citizen, Toronto based Fine Artist Frankie Rich has much of her work housed in both public and private collections across the globe. Included in the collection of the South African Embassy, Ottawa, her work, paintings and sculptures, have been exhibited to great acclaim in South Africa, Canada and the United States. Frankie’s paintings are imbued with a deep sense of spirituality, and her approach is a joyous one, perhaps best explained in her own words: “Art can be understood, it cannot be explained.” Frankie has been invited to participate in the prestigious Arts ‘H’ BOX project, an innovative, roaming screening ‘hall’ which presents major new video commissions by eight rotating international artists. The itinerant nature of the H BOX allows it to travel the world between renowned museums and highlights the exciting fluidity of video, a medium now reshaping the twenty-first century. Each year four new international artists will join the rotating programme while four others give up their places. You can see Frankie’s artwork on Sunday afternoon from 2-5pm at88 Mutual Street, Toronto, Apartment 1008, Entry code 1092.
