The Brightest Light in My Life – Mum

On the weekend I spent a lovely day with Mum. She has just returned from New Zealand and brought back some treats. I feel quite lucky because she managed to find and bring back some of her old clothes for us. I got a great dress she made (yes, made) when she was about 15 as well as a gorgeous leather belt. She brought my sister back a pair of her old boots that are totally rad. Mum found some old photos of herself, she is so cool and has always been a stylish young lady! One of the things I really miss about NZ are the treats. There are so many wonderful things to enjoy! Mum packed up a goodie bag for us each! Yum yum!We stopped into Lahore Tikka House for lunch. The food was fantastic as usual. However, they are using Styrofoam plates and cups which I find to be wasteful and horrible for the environment. Maybe they will change this behavior? I did see the following things that I found to be amusing:Note the handwritten sign stating that you can have a “piece of history” by purchasing an Obama t-shirt. Nice. This needs no explanation except for “ha ha”. Have a great day!

Today I got the new issue of Wired Magazine. Yahoo!! The cover article is titles ‘The Truth About Cancer: Don’t try to cure it. Just find it.”. Looks interesting! There’s also an article about Obama & a smarter plan for tech and science. Looking forward to sitting down to read it over the holidays!

guess who’s now following me on twitter?

My homeboy Barry Obama!! Once I got this I sent him a message. I wonder is he, or his ‘Twitter updater” will message me back. That would be a dream. Maybe Barack Obama updates his own Twitter and he really is made up of all the wonderful that I think he is. ♥ I’ll stick with that positive mindset.

Fingers Crossed!

This quote has been floating around online and was first heard on National Public Radio (NPR). I think its great. I’m having some friends over to watch history unfold this evening. We’ve all got our fingers crossed for Obama. Rosa sat, so Martin could walk… Martin walked, so Obama could run… Obama is running, so our children can fly!

just one more day ♥

Sorry about your Grandma Barry. “She was somebody who was a very humble person and a very plain-spoken person,” he said. “She was one of those quiet heroes that we have all across America. They’re not famous. Their names aren’t in the newspapers,” Obama said. “But each and every day they work hard. They look after their families. They sacrifice for their children and their grandchildren. They aren’t seeking the limelight. All they try to do is just do the right thing. “And in this crowd there are a lot of quiet heroes like that, mothers and fathers, grandparents who have worked hard and sacrificed all their lives,” drawing satisfaction from the hope of a better life for their own offspring. “That’s what America is about,” Obama exclaimed, his voice rising to a shout as the crowd responded with a roar. “That’s what we’re fighting for. And North Carolina, in just one more day, we have the opportunity to honour all those quiet heroes all across America and all across North Carolina,” he said. “We can bring change to America to make sure that their work and their sacrifice is honoured. That’s what we’re fighting for.” From the Sydney Morning Herald He’s such a hero.

Looking Good All Over, Barry.

A dear friend notified me of something very interesting going on at www.economist.com. You can login as a member of the site (or signup!), choose your country and pick who you would vote for in the upcoming US Election. It is evident by all my posts that I’ve got a thing for Obama. I was pleased and surprised to see that the whole world, the ones whom are interested in The Economist, would vote for Obama as well. The countries that chose McCain are mainly concentrated in one part of the world and McCain leads in Iraq, of all countries, with 67% of the vote. Interesting point maybe? In Canada the favorite is clear, 89% of Canadians that have voted online, vote for Obama. the polls are refreshed every 3 hours and overall there are 9,120 votes for Obama and only 270 for McCain.Check it out if you find it interesting by clicking the links or the map.

I see a resemblance, no?

Pres ’08: Oct 21 – Obama (D) 50%, McCain (R) 42% I really hope that Barry beats John in this race. It looks like he is kicking his but by being so Web 2.0 because there are heaps of posts that are praising Obama yet they fall short for McCain.

This is Why he Will Lose the Election

Because we are so very surrounded and consumed by the internet and sharing online it is impossible to not have images and content spread like wildfire. The photo below, in my belief is why McCain will lose the election. I know, I know, it’s never just one thing, but THAT is enough to make you go ‘ok, what the fuck is up with that old fart?’. Like seriously. If I were him I’d just stay at home and call it a day. “My name is John McCain and I am dropping out of the election due to Internet Embarrassment. I’ve outdone my self to a point where I feel I can not turn back.” Good Luck Barry Obama. I think you’re rad and you were really hot when you were younger.

Spending Orgy to Save Wall Street?

Mr. Obama countered by seeking to tie Mr. McCain to the economic policies of the Bush White House and its “orgy of spending” and argued that he was out of touch with the needs of American workers. (article)
