I’m a gangster for real, I feel so damn gangster

I love this photo. Took it today as soon as I got home from the airport using the 360 app on iPhone. I find this city so beautiful to come home to.

Have you heard of Pigeon John? Khayyamm always has good tunes and I was introduced to him when we were in Sin City last week. He’s not really a gangsta’ and neither am I.

I came all the way home TO THE FREEZING COLD in Havaianas. Crazy woman! Packed socks in my bag so I was warm on the plane but couldn’t not be bothered to get other shoes just to run to the car. I was tired and lazy.

My ankle is really swollen and my foot hurts. I have an old injury from about five years ago that is painful every now & then (love that movie). Urghhhh. I did however. spend the entire day on the couch (the internet). I’m doing hot/cold on it and have a castor oil compress for the night (thanks Mum!).

I’m always stoked to check the mail when I get home from work/vacation. I was VERY pleasantly surprised with a bunch of jewellery I ordered from Etsy (late one night) and a box with the warmest, wooly, winter slippers EVER.  They’re called Glerups and they’re from Denmark with a lovely family story about how they’re made. Glerups are made from 100% natural wool. Swoooooooon!

Being Kiwi I’ve had wool slippers before but never as fancy as these.  (I feel Mum is going to ring once she reads this saying she needs a pair!) Check out other styles (men, women, slipper, shoe) at Gerlups.ca. I got the black Women’s Slipper that retails for $99 CAD. I’ve been wearing them since I got ’em! They are SO incredibly warm. Thanks for sending Sadie!

I GET MY FASHION PILLS FROM THE HIP PHARMACY.

Love this blog foudre.co, it’s full of beautiful fashion photos. One of the reasons I really love tumblr is there are so many passionate fashion bloggers lovers & brands there (McQueen, Vogue). Pre-Fall collections are coming out now and I love, love pre-fall. It’s that romantic time between hot & cold where you can go bare legs but still match a scarf & coat. There’s so much variety that time of year. Accessory heaven. This image is from Foudre & is Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2012.

Pop Culture Prescription:

I wish I was heading to Germany for Berlin Fashion Week. I’ve got friends there I REALLY want to visit. I love Fashion Week season. New York SS 2012 Fashion Week is Feb. 9-17 which is also Social Media Week, Valentines, and the Toronto Auto Show. I’m in a charity auction for Heart & Stroke Feb.9th (Love a Heart), have to be at Auto Show (and am on a panel SM Week Feb. 17th.  I would love to scoot to NY for a couple days to catch a few shows & meet up with fashion blog friends from around the world. Hmmmmm….?

You never know what might happen so make the most of each day. Ok?!

Welcome to Fabulous. Dream it. Do it.

Last pic in the hotel before Leaving Las Vegas. Classic movie.  My hair is slowly growing crazy, crazy growing slowly. Hurry up. Gelatin will make you hair & nails grow fast. Buying Jello tomorrow. Whenever I’m in the USA people always stop & compliment my hair. It’s unique there I guess. I see cute short haired blonde girls in Toronto and on the internet all the time so it always catches me off guard. Roots are quite popular too. Getting them done by Darren Kwik this week.

The night before I left was CRAZY. When I got to the door at TAO I gave the word I was here and a tall hot VIP host named Logan walked me through the crowd to the private party. (Exactly how I imagined it should would be in Vegas TBH.) I remember always ready about Paris Hilton hanging out there.  Thanks NextGen & my friends for a fun night. Met some rad people. The dance floor was insane, so crowded. I only went there for 5 minutes at a time before scurrying back to bottle service. I don’t care if that sounds snobby, it was awesome and I was livin’ it up. There are these huge faces of CT all over the Luxor for his show. He creeps me out. Bonga is kinda obsessed with him. (I hope he reads this HAHA!) I did not gamble or see any shows the entire time I was in Vegas. I did make it to Spearmint Rhino for a lap dance from a lovely shoe model. It’s like one of those things you just have to do.

While wastng time before the airport I wandered into a little shop in the hotel and met this charming babe, Shahar from Argentina/Israel. I love that Israeli accent. I have a thing for accents, in general actually.

He gave me a facial. No jokes, like, a really nice expensive one. It was so relaxing and the perfect way to cap off three days in Sin City. See that Gold Age Treatment for $2,500?  Had that all over my young, little face and brought home a few other products too.

Quite content to be back home on Toronto. On Friday I head to Boston for the weekend! Did you see that Olivia Chow crashed a conference today? I love her and live in her riding. I blogged about conference crashing this week at CES.

Had a photo shoot on the strip today with Canadian photog Taylor Jackson. Noticed a bit of a trend eh! There were more drunken Disney characters that I didn’t snap. The man in the Minnie Mouse is a sure way to scare some kids. Saw a leprechaun midget on a mic too. Count on hearing “only in Vegas”? About a million.

Thinking we should do a drunken Disney parade some time. I’m guessing there is nothing Walt’s company can really do about it! Mooohahahaha.

Leaving for the airport soon and will be home tomorrow. Toronto I love & miss you <3 xo

I reckon three days in Vegas is too long. I’m over it. Spent most of last night going to lame parties and taking taxis. The coolest thing is that we found the ‘secret pizza’ place in the Cosmo and had a pizza party. It is hidden behind a sushi place and outside of it is a pool table with gorgeous vintage furniture. I drank PBR and played with my iPhone while the others played pool. There were a bunch of celebrities at one of the parties but I really don’t care. That chandelier is the worlds largest Swarovski. It’s beautiful and spans three stories with stairs and an elevator.

I had a great sleep and today I’m planning to walk the strip and check out the sights. I would love to see Chris Angel!

I am so clever that sometimes I don’t understand a single word of what I am saying.

This is where I live for the next few days. Luxor pyramid. can you believe I (randomly) had an Egyptian cab driver drop me off who wish me well in a language I didn’t understand. You should see how it lights up at night. Disco pyramid!

I’ve heard the expression ‘only in Vegas’ a bunch since arriving less than 24 hours ago. I get it now. What a crazy place. Driving the strip last night was surreal after seeing it in movies and on tv my whole life. Hello, hello is anybody out there?

Today I’m working from this massive Whole Foods market where they sell everything from booze to Toms and every single type of food. I made myself some pho which was really good but I put in WAY too many onions.

Last night I met my friends at the Bellagio where we went to a party at The Bank then Hyde then Spearmint Rhino. Super fun. We had security and a driver, things I could totally get used to. The DJ was THE one and only DJ Jazzy Jeff and bubbles were falling from the ceiling. At one point I think the smoke set off the fire alarm and the whole place spent about 3 minutes with no music.

I wonder how people that live here 24/7/365.25 days of the year handle it? I guess you get used to it.

In other news I have a photoshoot on Friday and am doing something on TV back home on Monday. Scooting back to hotel now to change shoes and go to YouTube party. Ran into Twitter friend/fan Alex Kinsela from home at a party last night and he invited me to today’s Mashable party. We have never met and we finally do in Vegas. Crazy. I guess anything can happen here!
