the last weekend for parties before school

Good afternoon and welcome to the Annual BBQ. We would like to thank you for coming,  have  yourself a great time!

Oh hai there, I am an Impressionist painting. You can see a brilliant mix of colour, an artistic blur. Nice work.

No baseball for me. Bocce Ball. I was blue. Didn’t play a WHOLE game. Short attention span. I’ve got some pretty good skills at the old people sport of lawn bowling though. Why is lawn bowling not more popular? In Bondi, the cool kids would go to the club and drink/play lawn bowling on Sundays – well dressed and so badass.

Preparing for photos, “ok everyone get your drink, fix your shirt, hair etc….”

And a one, and a two, and a one-two-three-POSE!

I took about 15 photos in a row of Beans eating a delicious chocolate brownie. She looked so cute. I thought it would make a funny animated GIF. She did not think it was AS FUNNY as me.

Would you like a drink with your glass?

One of the best things about a work related event it you always know how you’re getting home (to the next party)….TAXI CHIT!!

I braided Sabrina’s hair and she braided the doggy’s. It was cute. Both girls sat there and let their hair get played with. I with my hair was long enough to get braided too.

The weekend has finally arrived and I’m spending the afternoon with my darling sister in the sun.  We’re going to Kid Rock tonight thanks to Subway!! Woot. Have an awesome day! xo

This time of year is great. I can feel change in the air. I followed my own advice and read my book outside on the grass yesterday.  Sabrina got a set of mustaches and I really think we should wear them at the office party tomorrow.

It seems my bike has been having dates lately…Keri messaged me a photo that my bike was on date,  well, a boys cruiser was parked next to it.  We both had quite a chuckle when the next morning as I was leaving for work, it seemed that the date was not yet over!

In other exciting news on #SpadinaWatch, there’s something coming around the corner………………..LCBO! It’s quite a good idea considering the amount of people populating the small area. I can feel the winter being warmer already!

some kind of wonderful

I can feel my allergies kicking in, been sneezing. The ride in was a fight against the wind pulling my muscles with every push. I wonder what’s for lunch today, something good I hope. The cops are the ones worst for staring at girls on bikes. Yesterday I went on a Geocaching mission with Kelly, first time but not my last time.  Gonna find one of those treasures. Wore those pants today, the ones that fit right out of the wash and stretch throughout the day. Lovely email from a friend this morning. Makes the day shine brighter.

Reminders for the Day:

1) Read your book outisde before too gets too cold.
2) Don’t bore yourself…live,  love,  write,  remember. -> go read this again.
3) You love when the sun shines through the trees and hits the bright green fresh cut grass.

turn upside down and shake the creative salt

This is my favorite quote of the day:

“There’s a lot to be said for not giving two flying fuck’s Mr. Darwin.”

It’s from my book, I’ve been reading Generation A by Douglas Coupland. I like it. It’s interesting.  He Tweets.  I quite enjoyed a this bit of the book today when one of the characters, Zack said “To cope with this realization I chose nature’s ultimate ego-preservation tool: I chose not to give a shit”.

This book had a good story to me before I even cracked the spine. I won’t tell you after I read it. I love this time of year when the seasons change. Magic.

i will not be paid in butter chicken or fancy lunch

It’s a good day. Sun on my face, wind in my hair. The air is cool yet fresh. I feel good. On my way in I was thinking about being social. Last week I was at The League of Kickass Business People at The Social, being social, talking about social media. After that I went to the Refresh Events Summer social.

I could not get ‘social’ out of my head. Social, social social.

Social Media. Social Influence. Social good. They all roll off the tongue and leave you with a feeling of happiness. There is one thing that I’ve been talking about lately with people is – how do you put a price on social media? It’s difficult when it’s all includes user-generated content (UGC) or consumer-generated media (CGM). It’s hard to put a price on something that is hard to define.

Wikipedia says Social media can be said to have three components;

  1. Concept (art, information, or meme).
  2. Media (physical, electronic, or verbal).
  3. Social interface (intimate direct, community engagement, social viral, electronic broadcast or syndication, or other physical media such as print).

I’ve been putting quite a bit of thought into this over the past few months and especially since I saw the social media revolution video. I’m gonna think about it more and come back to it.

In the mean time, do you follow me on Twitter & Facebook?

when i put them on it’s business time

The little girl beside me is Irish and with her parents. She’s staring outside the window preying with every breath to capture a glimpse of the Jonas Brothers. She’s talking about Vanessa and their bus and I’m reminded of when I was young.

I had those teen Bop posters of Joey Lawrence and Johnny Depp all over my walls. After that phase  I graduated to drawing all over my walls with quotes and thoughts and messages from friends when they came over. Mum let me do it; creative expression. Thank you.

I watched the number 23 last night and he drew all over the walls too.  “The bus!” she shouts, this little girl is so cute. Where’s my little business phone? Gah, I lose it a few sometimes a day. I wear my eyeglasses to help me concentrate. It usually works. So far so good. Two cops in full uniform sat down beside me. I stare at the gun he doesn’t notice. Good. Someone else sat down and their cologne overpowers the sweet smell of coffee, not good cologne either, something cheap.

They’re playing house music on Sunday afternoon. I wear my earphones to concentrate  too, although I’m not playing any music. It’s quite chilly today.

This week I got prescription glasses in the mail from GlassesUSA. Thanks guys!

woke up thinking it smells like back to school

Part 1

Woke up thinking I don’t want to share what I think/feel today. I’m gonna tell a story, not sure what but a story. Then I have several messages regarding a Twittascope Tweet (Twitter/Horoscope). I have trouble accessing the site, so I get ready, leave and have no idea what it says.

Part 2

Riding in the sunshine I hear “get off that bike, that’s nnot your bike”. Familiar face, man, beard, bike, running with dog on leash, he works near me. The bells are ringing and the GO train was fastly approaching. She raced it and crossed the tracks. She looked homeless and dressed in Mugatu Derilict. I asked if he wanted me to hold the dog so he could chase her. I see cops everyday when I ride around Liberty and was she she would not get away. I peddled hard across the tracks after the train and went after. No idea what I would do. I dreamed of throwing a side kick from my bike and knocking her down. Locking my bike while she scrambled then riding off on his to return it. However, I just followed her. Saw a police car and knew she was on the other side of  the car park.  Yelled out to him “she stole that bike”. Told him it was my friends and he was chasing her.  He went to get her.

Part 3

Taurus
(Apr 20 – May 20)

Your key planet Venus is encouraging you to boldly state your feelings out loud today. But you should think twice before doing something that can upset the delicate balance of power. Your life is already complicated enough; you don’t need to add another layer of emotional drama on top of everything else. Acknowledge your desires, but consider keeping them to yourself for now.

Interesting.  Desires kept for another day……………………..

Part 4

The update: I called the police station and I recon they thought I was a nut. I told them some crazy homeless lady stole the bike of this nice bearded man and I chased the cop and told him to get her. Did he get her? Was the bike returned? I believe she listened to my little voice and though I was about 16.  I did not get an answer.

I’ve been hoping to see the handsome bearded man, only then will I know what happened to his bike.

because when it’s quiet the only sound is the voice in my head

Rain today. Calming, refreshing, inspiring. I wear earphones to block out the noise. No noise. Silence helps me connect my thoughts. Creative thoughts. Creative thoughts on making things. Making things creative.

waiting……………………………#borderlineartistic on 12seconds.tv

On the way in I saw an adorable old woman with a cane who had just placed a ‘P’ sign on the sidewalk in front of her house. There was already one car parked on the lawn. “That’ a great idea” I shouted. There are a few people around the are doing it while the CNE is on.

We wanted to do that at my old house on the Danforth during Taste of the Danforth since we lived right where the action was. We never ended up doing it because we always had friends over. They parked in the spots. I should have invited them over and said “hi friends, thanks for coming. It’s $10 to park here” . Haha, funny money.

The sun just came out. Wore two different socks today.

Happy Wednesday 🙂

You got me at hello. You also got me ‘even if you drop your phone in a pool’ or like over 20 stories from your condo, or in the toilet, or in the car door, or in a beer, or off a bridge, most of which I have done. The reason I love Google is because it to me, is the most human and accommodating to my life. When you want to stay connected to your life, it’s there.  It fits in with everything I do , it connects me, makes it simple and helps me be smarter and more efficient in the things I do everyday.

Imagine dating someone like Google?

and before i knew it she was all grown up

it was so weird at the time, i couldn’t stop myself

i’m not sure what happened but it did. i light went on. it was a few things that lead me there. creative people around me, compliments on creative work, being surrounded by smart, successful, creative business people. thinking about ‘it’s not how good you are it’s hot good you wanna be’, one of my favorite books. i feel like i can’t really go back now. they say if you do what you love you will have success, i love doing this. i love writing and taking photos and laughing at myself and remembering thing things i forget. it makes me happy to do social good; social good in funness, good causes, good people.

i stayed up all night. learning about things. reading blogs, commenting. drawing in sketchbook.when i have an idea i write it down. i’ve found some neat stuff lately and most i’ve posted on my tubmlr blog. it’s all the things i find around the internet that i don’t put here but like to share.

i read a great article called ‘the 7 vices of highly creative people, posted on salon.com, Feb. 9, 200o. i know i have my vices and bad habits, but i have good ones too. read it here.

“If you go through life free of bad habits, you won’t live forever, but it will feel like it. ”

the sun is at just the right angle over the moon

Good morning. Not hung over at all.

Whoa, craziest guy. Red beard, so weird. I think he was upset I took his photo. Probably thinks I took his soul or something. Oh, Queen Street.

God she was cute, blonde and red lipstick, suitcase, selling clothes in the park. I love it. She turned and smile at me right after this. Like attracts like, again. See looks like Agyness Deyn.

Sabrina and I did a social experiment and checked out three vastly different scenes. First stop, a singles event we got invited to. Not my thing but the girls outfits were cool.

This one was my fav.

Next stop, Prince Perry & the Gladstones CD release party on the roof at the Spoke Club. Much more up my scene alley.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, such nice artwork there right now. Just noticed this one.

A hot girl pulled us in while walking home. She reminded me of Terrie Hawkes (yes, she was that hot). She offered us shots from the bar at Brant House… ok, twist my arm.

Bad night for this guy, was on the floor and couldn’t stand up. There were lots of drunk people. I was sober when I arrived but that changed pretty quickly.

My camera broke, this is about the zillionth one I’ve ruined (bows head in shame and sighs). The steel case was already breaking and now the screen is cracked. Can still take photos just can’t see them right away. AH! Will make for some interesting shots I imagine.

Nap time!

it’s like a chose your own adventure book for real

Cool storm last night. Didn’t last long but it was great; energetic, powerful, heavy, beautiful.  Drove around in it.  Got wet. Loved it all.

The rain drops were falling down in rounds and floating in the wind. It was lovely.

Later, I went to Koodo Mobile party for the launch of their Build a Bash campaign at buildabash.ca. They are gonna give away $50,000 to some coolperson to have a party. I want it.

If we’re not friends yet, add me on FB and join my party just like this. So easy. The site has some ‘issues’ yesterday and wasn’t working.

I guess everyone wants to party?

Yum, fried. Two of my favorites – rings & beer.

Classic me = spilly willy.

I won a Samsung phone, first prize of the night. I’d like to win some CASH next time. Gonna give the phone away to someone who is a Koodo lover, stay tuned.

Shared my drink tickets, I was like ‘let me buy you a drink, and you a drink’ haha. Um, we were supposed to look excited in this photo guys?

If I win the $50,000 to throw a party, I’ll hook up some sponsors and take it up about 1,000 notches. I’ve wanted to throw a massive guy for ages and I reckon it’s about time!!

Hello there adorable girl with blonde hair wearing tartan just like me. I spotted her across the bar and thought she was the cutest little thing. She spotted me too. Like attracts like?

It is official – everybody loves stickers at parties. Nice meeting all 100 of you that got them 🙂

Omg, I think it was my favorite song. Gun pointing hand dance, so cool.

the wild lion hair of @mhp

omg hello again, you are so incredibly cute.

She came over to introduce herself as someone who’s been reading for a while and said she loves blog. Also  totallycute.  Don’t forget to email me!

weekend finally. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

it’s the little things that matter most

Thank You Sprouter! from my heart

I met Sarah Prevette and Erin Bury early this year when I volunteered to be on the team for Twestival. At the time they were Redwire and the power behind the greatness that was hosting the event. Being part of the team and getting to know them was an awesome experience. We have since worked on a bunch of things together and I try to help out where I can. The office admin girl came over and said ‘you’re so lucky’ as she dropped a beautiful green money tree at my desk. Interestingly enough, I mentioned earlier that karma goes around and shows up when you least expect it. I feel so lucky today. Thank you.

Looking forward to Twestival Local on September 12th, mark your calendars!

you can’t keep me from my boyfriend…the internet

Shocker last night from Rogers. Told me I maxed out on my internet usage and now they’re charging me per GB.  For me, that’s like trying to keep me from someone I love. Putting restrictions on the time we spend together.  I want no limits and I want to be able to spend all the time I want together.  I heard from a little bird that it’s gonna get worse too. I was really mad at Rogers, but I’m not anymore.  I’ll just have to take it! You can’t keep me from the internet.

I didn’t shave the sides right down again, just a snip. Sorry @brundly_fly, I know what you said. I’d like it to grow a bit but the thing is that it’s going to be awkward and I refuse to have it look ugly. So, for now, it’s kinda same but not half shaved anymore, just short. If you want someone cool to do your hair, go see Darren. His spot is right across from Trinity Bellwoods and the vibe in there is so chill.  I love.  I love.

I arrived home to find out we had two packages AND they were both for me.  Lucky day! I got two great snags. I’m not sure where the book came from but the video came from The Comedy Network. They wanna send me stuff now. THANK YOU! Getting mail is one of my most favorite things, especially surprise mail. HINT HINT

I watched a bunch of the DVD and was Tweeting up my appearance at #hohoto (as in I wasn’t there but I was pretending via Tweets I was). I almost for got how funny Brett and Jemaine are. Remember when I met them? I decided to actually make an appearance and I showed up sober at about 12:30 as the party was closing down. Let me tell you, best time to show up. Everyone was drunk and was SO happy to see me.  Felt like a star. They raised a bunch of money for the Food Bank and it looked like it was a really good time. Nice work guys!

p.s. My site is being so slow.  Know how to make it fast? Please email me. okthxbai

one more thing: I’m in love with this girl now thanks to @misslava from Ad Girl and Tech Nerd for sharing. Omg, she’s the cutest little Raggamuffin.

it’s nice to know there’s still romance out there

It was so warm out last night. We ordered take-away Terroni and got some wine to sit in Bellwoods.  We watched people and lazed around. It was lovely really, one of my favorites. When is the Bellwoods garage sale? I love that thing. Listening to lots of Sia today. I missed her. There were heaps of weirdo’s around which made for a very entertaining scenery. This tall bike was very amusing to me as you can tell from my gay-face.  I saw a girl riding around in the park earlier but I didn’t have my camera to capture her in action. Made some new friends and they had the cutest guy. I’m not usually a big fan of animals but this guy was so damn cute.

I finally met headband guy that Jeff and I had seen around town a couple times. Turns out, all the jokes I made about him being in a band were true…he is actually in a band. They’re from Ajax and called The Johnstones.Funny dudes. I feel like today is a Wednesday because I feel boring. I’m getting my hair done tonight and thinking about NOT shaving the sides again. We’ll see what Darren has in store for me.

i wanna go away with you and lay under the stars

Check your email. Where’s that invite to the Prince Perry party on Friday? Can you make the dance show on Saturday? How is it already lunch time. Photo shoot at lunch today with Kelly. Did you remember makeup? OMG, it’s killer hot out too.

Check the date, yep, the deadline for the contest that can win you $10,000 is today. Must make video tonight. They asked you to enter, so if you don’t it’s like you don’t want the money. You do.

The reports are doubling numbers and now I need to run them again. My tires are low. Go see cute boy after work and get them pumped. It’s another sweltering hot day. I really miss Twitter in the office. It helps keep my mind on track.

Like all my stupid/smart and random ideas I have more and more on days like today when I try to get so many things done. Without that they float around in my head road blocking all the things I actually need to get done.

My phone is vibrating repeatedly. Why is my site being slow? It’s frustrating. Get  Hair done tomorrow. Stay on task stay on task. Hocus focus.

Right now I wanna be in another country with a camera taking your picture. Kelly Krushel took all these photos of me today.  She is a movie still photographer in Toronto. You can check out her work here, see her tumblr here and follow her on Twitter.

socialnomics? does that make you a socialnomist?

Sprung out of bed and yawned out loud, the sun was on my face. Slugged to the kitchen, to the loo, not yet in a race. My mind, it slipped me…such good sleep! I saw the clock, I was in SHOCK… I was nearly late!

For brunch today, I was graced with the lovely presence of British, Bangs and a Bun writer Muireann Carey-Campbell. I pulled up to see her locking her bike up in a cute blue dress, bangs and a bun and all.

It’s one of the hottest days so far, I wore the Edie dress.  Gah, I’d rather bike in my bathing suit. We had some damn good laughs over brekky. Looking forward to reading about he life in NY and Japan.

I’m waiting for friends to come over and go swimming. The air is like a thick brick cloud and it sticks to you when you walk through it.

This video has been circulating on Twitter today and I found it to be quite interesting.

we have hundreds of mc donalds toys

Things are a little different in the East end. They move at a different pace then the West. The people look different. More dogs, wives, kids, lawns, antique shops, less hipsters.

I’ve never seen a house like this before. It’s in the East end at Queen and Bertmount Ave on Bertmount, about a block North of Queen. Necessary pull over for photos. I’ve been trying to think up stories all day about the people that live here. The lady that put all these guys up. How long? What does she look like?

Her name is Shirley. She won best small garden from the city one year. Best garden. Yes, best GARDEN! Look at this baby and say ‘best small garden’ out loud.

There are so many random and tattered toys all over. It’s crazy. We collected Mc Donald’s Happy Meal toys. Mum has hundreds of them in the basement. Boxed. Original packaging. Barbies, Beanie Babies, Playmobile, Lego, Batman, Disney stuff and more.

Somebody needs a thingamabob?

So creepy. Tahnee keeps freaking out every time she looks at my screen. She said at Christmas Shirley decks the place out in lights. I can’t even imagine. Ok, I can but I don’t want to. These are most definitely different to the type of kids toys you see on Youtube. Quite frankly, I think a child looking at these toys too long would need to go to therapy.

Today was as the kind of hot I love when it’s sticky and your skin stays soft all day. I took a watermelon to a bbq in the afternoon. Love summer melons. Thanks for having me guys!

Browsed a book at their place with some valuable lessons in it. This was a cute one.

absolutely, a total need for something different

I’ve always been a little different. I when I little I would mix match the couple outfits Mum would lay out on the bed to wear and make my own. I wore two different socks one time, orange and green to match the shorts shirt combo. I remember it. A parent turned to Mum and said “You’re gonna let her go like that?” as Mum says, “If she feels confident like that then I’m not gonna stop her”. Thank you Mum. It’s important to be different. Mum made the dress I wore to the Notable TV party about 16 posts ago.

5288_658446641699_120800372_41894886_315739_n

The video of the party just came out, go watch it now! Julian talked about the the Notable brand in his toast (3:28) which is my favorite part after Raymi and I at 2:40. haha j.k. There are some cool smart young people featured on Notable TV and I like how Julian wants to give people something different. I think that’s important. I truly love the amount of motivation & determination amongst Generation Y in Toronto. There are some really cool things going on in this city. Makes me proud!

interest in spying on people engaged in behaviors

So nice out yesterday. I could have let the day last forever. Today too.  I like it hot. They were talking about mozzies while we were sitting in the grass and I was like ‘no, what mosquitos? I don’t feel them’. Biggest loser. Today I’m scratchy-mc-scratcherton.

The baddest bikes around. Pete was having a one night stand with this one and testing it out. Cervelo got the green jerz in Tour de France and they’re partying this week. Picture makes me giggle cause the leg looks kinda like the bike to me.

I was in friend heaven last night hugging everyone so tight. I missed you guys! I haven’t seen so many favorite faces all together for a while. I met some cool new people and my purse is full of business cards. Lost my keys but my glasses have been located.

Pretty much everyone in the joint tweets. I met two people that were don’t, how weird. Follow @pinkbrickroad and @dariusbashar, they’re cool kids. Patio was beau-teeeee-ful. Fun, sun, friends, beer, music, like OMG can it get any better.

Then I met this guy who is nice (sorry I forgot your name) and we chatted but he had something to say, he doesn’t get my blog. Like really, what is the point? Um, well, ah….it started because I wanted to remember stuff better and I was bored and I like writing. Now, people read it and like it and some people even say I’m inspiring. How cool is THAT! Me thanks Mum and Daddio for inspiring me.

My stickers are always a hit. I make stickers because I think it’s better than a business card at this kind of thing. They get stuck on peoples clothes and name tags and they wear them around proudly. You can’t wear a business card around and look as cool as you do with a sticker. Plus, at the end of the night you have the sticker with my URL and Twitter  making me easy to find. Plus, the picure makes it hard to forget my pretty little face.  Ha!! Two points for me.
We all tuned in to hear the exciting news that Redwire is now Sprouter , “an application facilitating real-time discussion and networking”. Their next step in their mission “to provide exceptional tools for start up founders.” Just as I was listening in the door came Toronto bloggers Ad Girl and Tech Nerd.

Darius though it was really funny to pretend to toss my baby Bobby laptop around. haha, as in not funny! Darius runs the social network of do-googers Daily Challenge.  I’ve worked with them on a few great events over the last year and I also won my little blue steel camera in a Daily Challenge contest. Yahooo! I do good.

It was a busy day and all the beer fun has left me a little tired today. I’d like to be laying in the grass floating in pool with my sunnies on. Oh, remember when I was all gung-ho about Sobey’s opening next door and being 24 hours? I set up a Twitter account cause I thought it would be funny to say what was happening there in the wee hours of the morning etc. Well it’s not 24 hours but they DO want the Twitter account.  Badass.

it’s not always easy but it’s always fun

“i can’t write today somethings wrong i can’t smile today life is a sad song my heart hurts so does my foot in my shoe, today is a sad day without you. “

This is a little poem published in my book in 1996. I’m working on getting that site up so you can see all the good stuff I did when I was a teeny-bopper. It runs through my head when I get writers block, prime example…today.

I hate the days when I have so many thoughts I can’t even get them down. If I have to think too much about what to write I save a draft and start something new and random then see where it goes.  I’ve composed three today. My mind is racing with excitement about projects and a few other things. I’m really looking forward to Wired Wednesday tonight. I feel like I weird Wednesday right now.  Didn’t bike today, my dress is too pretty.

Dating: UK men vs Canadian men from Muireann Carey-Campbell on Vimeo.

I’ve met some really rad girls in the TO blogging scene. I want to share a video of Muireann from Bangs and Bun. I watched it today and I have a crush on her accent. We’re having brunch Sunday and I’m gonna let her do most of the talking!

420 consecutive photos one train ride

and the photos took themselves on a journey

I’m really busy today. Meeting at lunch, meeting after work and I’m late to make a call right now. As I was riding the train last night there was no internet.I have made a time lapse video. I will add music this evening and you will see the train ride.

I wrote  this little rhyme in 2004, Mullet Man. That’s me at Niagara Falls about 20 years ago. The guy across the street from Mum’s house had a mad dirty 1988 mullet and he was fixing his van. I was inspired by him.  I knew he could do it.

Mullet man, Mullet Man
Out side the window,
Green van, blue van,
Mullet man plays out in the garage.
I look out there
Lights on, nothing wrong
Feeling strong fixin’ that van.
Mullet man,
You can, you can
Fix that van to run again.

Mullet man,you can, you can,
Run that van, you are the man.

thoughts on save and being safe

I feel good. I feel relaxed and happy.

I wrote something just before this and deleted it by accident. It happened just as I thought it was good. That means, I know, I know I can do it again and not to worry about losing it. Save your work.
I had just finished a thought about dealing with negative thoughts, negative people, self doubt really.  The truth is, I am the director of the movie that is my life, there’s no one else writing it for me. I can hear someone talking on another balcony. I’m sitting here and the rain has since stopped but it was fierce and roaring with thunder and there were flashes of lightening in sky.

i said gimme a lightening and then VOILA! it struck on 12seconds.tv

I’ve been up to a few things lately 1) tumblr 2) 12secondstv. I have more thoughts that process through my mind on a daily basis than this blog is ready to handle. I’ve been sharing snipits and stories about me and my life on what I like to call ‘The Casie Stewart Show’ on 12seconds.tv. It’s fun. There are so many really creative people pf Tumblr. Most younger than me that’s cool. I did some of my most creative stuff so far from 14-16 years old.
