Ben’s at Home Win’s best Feature at Canadian Film Fest!

This weekend I went to the Canadian Film Festival premiere of Ben’s At Home, directed by my friend Mars  Horodyski and Dan Abramovici. It’s a romantic comedy where Ben decides to stay home and not leave his house. In doing this there’s some drama, laughs, and romance. HUGE congrats to Mars and Dan for winning BEST FEATURE  at the festival. They’ve been picked up for distribution AND have a web series on the way. So neat to see someone you know really killing it. I’m looking forward to the web series as Ben blogs about staying home for an entire year. I couldn’t even imagine doing that! BEN’S AT HOME TORONTO PREMIERE Running Time: 74mins Genre: Romantic Comedy Producers:   Dan Abramovici, Mars Horodyski, Anneli Ekborn Director: Mars Horodyski Writers: Dan Abramovici, Mars Horodyski Editor: Mike Reisacher Cast: Dan Abramovici, Jess Embro, Jim Annan, Inessa Frantowski, Craig Brown, David Reale, Rob Baker, Kimberly-Sue Murray,…

Couch, Kleenex, Sneezing, Blarghhh, I’m So Sick

I have the worst cold, I’m so sick. I feel like hell. Sneezing every couple minutes and the amount of kleenex I’ve gone through today alone is disgusting. I’ll be staying inside all weekend and recharging my batteries. Valentine roses are still looking pretty. Went to the Artist Project last night and it’s really cool. It’s on all weekend, definitely worth checking out. Can’t write anything today. Can’t think. Ordered some spicy takeout and am drinking heaps of water. Pretty glad to have this week’s episodes of Y&R on PVR. There’s nothing I’d rather watch right now! <3 CASIE

A Good Watch, A Wood Watch, A Good Wood Watch

It’s been ages since I wore/had a watch but just before the holidays I was contacted by JORD and got to pick out my fav wood watch from their classics collection. I was looking for a ‘boyfriend’ style, androgynous watch and went for the Fieldcrest black in a classic midsize. I like the monochromatic wood face that shows the intricacy of the grain. Here’s a better photo from their Instagram. If you need help choosing a watch, take a look at reviews on www.hotrate.com. A photo posted by JORD Wood Watches (@woodwatches_com) on Jun 6, 2014 at 9:13am PDT Since I picked such a unisex style, it’s been worn mostly by my BF! He absolutely loves it. Ladies beware, if you get one and have a BF, you might not have it for long. The collection is reasonable with prices ranging from $120+. There’s some really beautiful woman’s watches in…

My New Friend from France, Polette Eyewear

Eyewear have always been a staple in my wardrobe. I’ve always had a large variety of costume glasses of different shapes and sizes. I’d much rather have a bunch of affordable styles instead of one or two fancy ones.  I like variety but I’ve also been known to lose and break them (unfortunately!). Late last year I was contacted by Polette eyewear in France and offered a spot on their blogger team. In exchange for sharing my fav glasses from the site, I get to pick a couple pairs EACH MONTH.  Perks of the job guys, squeeee! I can’t wait to stock up and share new shades every couple weeks. My First Polette Eyewear Order:  Devil – rose coloured lenses Léosummer – yellow/green fashion lenses Gracie Mile B – blue/black lenses Polette has a pretty neat story. Founded by Pierre Wizman, a young entrepreneur at 16, he launched the website in 2011 with his…

Tech | Buffer Festival Industry Day 2014

About a week ago I attended the first ever Buffer Festival Industry Day. Here’s a quick little snip of some of  my fav moments! It was great listening to top YouTubers talk about their experiences in brand building and projects. I was right up front to admire Harley from Epic Meal Time’s beard. He was my fav on the panel and it was neat to hear how the Epic Meal Time brand has evolved. A couple years ago I was at a Biz Media party and the team from Epic Meal time was there (blog post here w/ photos). They made a bacon volcano and bacon roses to go along with a suite of other epic meat creations. There was a meat photobooth too. I arrived just in time to catch my friend Brad Ford from Contiki chatting about brands, fans, and influence.  This is one of my fav topics and it was cool to…
