Every once in a while I go through days I don’t feel like blogging. I don’t feel like sharing. I don’t have anything to say. I just don’t feel like it. This is #7 in a series of posts with the same title. Today was one of those days. Sometimes I wonder if anyone notices…and then I go to Twitter. 🙂
Have some giveaways coming up for holiday, an exciting announcement, and two upcoming trips. Been practicing my editing skills on a new video. Spending lots of time at home lately too. New job has filled my life with social excitement and responsibility in a completely different way.
This week is the calm before December storm that starts next week! I really love the holidays.
Went to the Grey Cup Players Gala Award Party at MTCC on Thursday. It was fun. Got to thank my Telus peeps in person for party and game tickets. Lauren and I danced front stage while Kardinal performed and then we went home (to the internet). I’ve never been to a REAL pro football game, only college or Uni. AND, in other amazing news…I JUST FOUND OUT JUSTIN BIEBER IS PERFORMING AT THE HALF-TIME SHOW! OMFG. Judge me, I don’t care. I love the Biebs. Our shirts were delivered today along with a football and some Grey Cup gear from Telus. THANK GUYS! Excited for the event tomorrow 🙂
If you SUBSCRIBE right NOW, you’ll also get this timeless offer of over 5,000 comments and a bunch of categories.
One of my favourite things about blogging is discovering. Late last night, Katherine Lowe (NZ) posted this song from a Kiwi artist and she, Lorde, is my new favourite. In her tweet Katherine said it would be, and I believed her. I know her from NZ. She has great taste and an awesome blog. No really katherineisawesome.com. I creeped all Lorde’s social profiles and listened to all her music.
Arrive at work with a smile on your face. Listen to your favourite song. Feel happy. You will never be younger!
I recently filmed a video about my involvement in Movembr with Cision Canada. Cision is leading global provider for PR, marketing and media software, services and tools. I made a GIF about it, obvs.
Thanks to the team for having me in their offices and supporting our efforts to raise awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and male mental health initiatives.
Here’s the official photo from the MoSistas Toronto calendar. GET A CALENDAR HERE! Not into calendars? make a donation at movember.ca/casietewart. I’ll be at the Gala on Movember 30th judging the Best Mo’s!
Welcome to 50 Shades of HEYYYYYY! Bad joke, whatever. I got bored of the book and only made it half way.
In other news, yesterday I peeped the 2013 leathers from Danier. I could use a new jacket, mine is ripped. There were some pretty lovely coloured leathers and a few bags I could have easy just walked out with. (I kid, I kid.)
No really though. Love you leather long time.
These are some of my favs!
Upstairs was the preview of Princess Tam Tam 2013, (who I was just introduced to) with adorable french llingere. “Princesse tam.tam, c’est une marque de femmes pour les femmes… Une saga unique, des produits et des couleurs étonnantes et détonantes.” Hello, I love you too. The styles are super cute, as the shapes and colours. I’m crushing on the bright undergarments that would undoubtedly give you a bounce in your step (but not your bra!). Ha!
Thanks Brill Communications for this lovely little camisole from Princess Tam Tam and vest from Danier.
I’ve put a new leather on my holiday wish list and have my eyes on spring swimwear. I’m thinking these ones would be a good fit.
Today a special edition of Marketing Magazine came out and it’s all about social media! If you turn to page 28, you’ll see a one pager titled “The Perks of Being an Influencer” and it’s all about me. (Note yesterday’s post about the film!)
It details some of the campaigns I’ve been a part of over the last few years and a bit about my new role at Community as Director of Social Media. Thank you Marketing Magazine for featuring me! Photo was shot by the wonderful Steve Carty.
Go pick up a copy if you are interested in the internet AT ALL. It’s full of great features about the web, bloggers, social media, and of course marketing!
Earlier this year I was filmed for a documentary called ‘It’s All About Me‘ directed by Antoine Gaber (LA/Toronto). The first trailer is now online and HERE IT IS. The film is all about GenY and technology. I always get nervous when something I’m in comes out. Gah! It’s getting submitted to festivals around the world later this month. My scenes were filmed at Darren Kwik Studio and Bicyclette Boutique on Queen in March 2012. I can’t wait to see the whole thing next year. MY FACE ON THE BIG SCREEN GUISEEEEE! Show your love Like for the film on Facebook/itsallaboutmemovie.
I’ve been spending the weekends charging my batteries lately. Monday to Friday are so busy that by the time Saturday morning rolls around all I want to do is cook, clean, and rest. I went to Cavalcade of Lights presented by Great Gulf on Saturday for the first time since I’ve lived in Toronto. It was magical! Sunday I cleaned the house, baked brownies, and made a delicious dinner for myself before watching the AMAs. Here’s some of my fav tweets from the weekend.
These panoramic ones below were taken using 360 on Android. So beautiful!
Have an awesome week my friends. Remember, you will never be younger than you are today SO MAKE IT A GREAT ONE.
Thank you everyone who entered the LAZY PANTS contest. After putting all the names in random.org, the WINNER IS SHELDON. Thanks bro! I’m wearing mine right now after spending most the day horizontal on the couch being lazzzzzzzy. Take a look at the entries and please enter next contest. I’ll try and arrange another giveaway soon! Last night I ventured uptown to Yorkdale Mall for the VIP pre-opening of the $220 million expansion. Yorkdale added 145,000-square feet of space 800 more parking spots, 27 new stores and a high-end food court. Five upscale stores are making their debut in Canada: Microsoft, Tesla Motors, Ted Baker London, Kate Spade and Ann Taylor Loft.
As an Ambassador for Ted Baker in Canada, I was extremely happy to hang out in the store, try on clothes and meet the entire team. I got a few goodies too, Scuba dress, bulldog scarf, I haven’t been to Yorkdale in ages and it’s really quite a lovely destination. Stop into the Ted Baker store this weekend for a chance to win a $2,500 shopping spree. Hellooooo!
It’s Thursday. It’s almost the weekend. I’m not really a lazy person but I love to laze I really do.. When I get home from work, especially in winter, I change out of my day clothes once I walk in the door, and slip into something, a little more confortable…
And when I say confortable, I mean something ACTUALLY CONFORTABLE. I have two pairs of LAZYPANTS and they are so cozy, the ‘ultimate in sweatpants technology’ for confort and style. In Toronto, you can them at Holt Renfrew, Leigh and Harlow, TNT, DEW, and they retail for $80.
I have a pair for you, one lucky man or woman.
Pick your own size and colour too, just for you.
HOW TO WIN:
Tweet/Link to a photo of WHY YOU NEED LAZY SUPPORT?
You must explain in 140 characters or less why you need some assistance with your laziness.
Props for creativity and using #thatslazy
One winner, picked FRIDAY 5PM. Pants to be sent next week.
Examples: Born lazy, broken leg, car in the shop, exhausted from training elephants, climbed a mountain, surfed all day
I tried to make a cat daddy GIF to go with this post but failed ok. FAILED! I know there’s a photocopier in this one but the sun is so lovely at my desk when I arrive early.
These are my new boots from CAT footwear. TBH I had no idea they made stylish girl boots and when I recieved the email to pick a pair, I was instantly in love. The Stella, leather boot is available in black or brown for $249.99. There’s a few nice styles online at catfootwear.com. Thank you CAT for sending, feeling the love!
Check out CAT on Facebook/Pinterest here. I’m into this Earthmovers campaign they have goin’on.
Hope you are having a wonderful day. I just stopped into Dark Horse Cafe on Queen for a sandwich & coffee in the sun. It’s beautiful out!
Beards and blazers, boys with long hair, fancy dresses, I can’t help but love the style of Ted Baker London. The first Canadian store in opens this weekend and I’ve been chosen as an Ambassador. I have such a heart on for this look, Royal country elegance.
The Ted Baker Blog is Muse & Views, they’re on Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube. Creative, classy, their AW 12 campaign is ‘Survival of the Fittest’ and they say things like ‘be a glitter bug in Ted.’ I love it. Good brand, good branding.
It’s a match made in heaven, romantic really.
Stop by the store Friday-Sunday for the weekend long, picnic in the woods celebration. During store hours, don’t show up late for a bonfire! They’re giving away a $2,500 shopping spree, some other prizes, and treats.
Things I love are this collared sweater, blazer, and printed jeans. There’s some beautiful dresses for holiday, looking forward to trying THOSE on!
Ladies & gents! #MOgasmTO is back for the third hairy year. Some friends and I launched this at The Gladstone Hotel back in 2010. This year we’ve got a bunch of fun things planned including Mark Shannon’s Photo Booth, musical guests, Speedboats & Big Explosions AND the launch of the official MoSistasTO 2013 Calendar. Caldar was shot by Kevin Luc and styled by Alison from King & Fox.
Last year I won a nailing contest (with hammer) and lost an arm wrestle.
There are awards for best moustache, auctions, and drinks. Come out Friday to THE DRAKE HOTEL after 8pm, have a drink, get a calendar. It will be great to see you. Everybody and their MO will be there 🙂
Make a donation to me or my team HERE. The link to order a calendar will be live SOON.
Got some new jeans in the mail from Mavi Canada! THANKS GUYS.
Told them on Twitter how my most fav jeans were Mavi’s in highschool. I worked at the mall and wore jeans all the time back then. I picked out Galaxy Blue and Snakeskin in the Serena style ‘perfect fit’. They actually fit perfect. The snakeskin ones are stretchier and than the blue ones.
There’s lots of new technology in how denim is made these days and the new Mavi’s are more like pants (vs. jeans). I never forgot that Mavi means ‘denim’. A girl in my high school married a guy from Turkey (where they are made) and she was one of my style icons back then. (Props if anyone can guess who she was? Blonde hair, petite.)
You can get a pair of Mavi’s at Jean Machine. Check out the whole collection and fun website at ca.mavi.com. Happy Friday!
When it is sunny out my desk is alllllllll sunshine and rainbows. It’s magical! We’ve almost made it to the weekend guys. I wish you a happy day. Make it a memorable one. Do something nice for someone. Soak up some sun and pass it on 🙂
Unified looks are here for social platforms and they have been changing right before your eyes.
Lauren is hosting a chat about the crazy Twitter election exploding with memes and lighting the internet on fire. I’m going to be at Medieval Times eating with my hands and friends. But not friends hands. Cause that’s gross? Thanks CBC for showing this ad for Lita’s at Nasty Gal. Clearly targeting advertising correctly, I was wearing a pair when I saw this. NASTY GAL STOP TAUNTING ME. Just kidding. I love.
Meme Chat w/ Lozzie – Thursday at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT on CBC Your News Live Online w/ experts in web culture and politics.
