The same thing we do every night, Pinky…

Great time Thursday at JapanquakeTO. I wore this red one piece pantsuit number. Been crazy busy the last couple days with some client stuff and trying to take over the internet world. I have so many stories/photos to share. I really like to blog when things happen, the whole reason I started this thinger was to keep more memories.

Totally thought I busted my Olympus camera but realized this morning I just had the battery backwards. Blonde much! Car has been in parking for the last two days, I like having it but man, parking downtown is a real b*tch. Guess what, Toyota loved my post about the whole ‘gettting towed’ thing and they are going to reinburse me the $180. Sweet as eh! New tatttoo(s) are healing nicely (see red  <3 below). Got vodka in the mail yesterday from Smirnoff but I think it was an April Fools, the bottle came with it’s own speakers. What am I supposed to do with that? Drink it alone in the park with my ipad? Maybe.

Really looking forward to my trip to Boston on the 14th for a few days. Alwasy nice to get out of the city, always nice to come back too. I’m working today with a client then have a dinner this evening with a friend. Really looking forward to that 🙂

Happy Saturday,

CASIE

#BahamaMama: Please Save Our Oceans From Plastic!

This post was written by my Mum while she was living on their boat in The Bahamas!

Plastic, we all use it everyday but do we really think about where it goes when it lands in our rivers and oceans? To see mans intrusion of plastic clutter, washed up fishing nets and lost shoes on these beautiful beaches of the Atlantic Coast  is very sad.

We explored the Atlantic Ocean beach of Cambridge Cay which is part of The Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park, the first land and sea park in the world.

The park covers 176 square miles beginning at Wax Cay Cut in the North and Stretching southward some 22 miles to Conch Cut and extending out approximately 4 nautical miles on either side of the cays.

It is a no-take zone by both land and sea-nothing living or dead, can be removed from the park.  The park can only be reached by boat. To have the opportunity to visit this park is amazing.

Miss you, love Mum.

yesterday on twitter, this happened:

Enjoy a NICE cold beer? Check out this new thing from @MolsonCoors!

My friends at Molson are a bit wacky but very cool people none the less. They sent me this new thing they’re working on and I wanna know YOUR thoughts. The marketing teams call it a “Taste Buddy”. This prototype is from R&D, its a mix of lycra & neoprene. One size fits any tongue.

It’s a tongue koozie to keep your tongue warm when you are drinking ice cold beer.  Kinda like those beer koozies in the summer. Ahhh, Summer & cold beer.

These guys take this cold stuff seriously, eh?

“an all-around plugged-in pioneer” #personalbranding101

I recently wrote an article for Levis about Crafting Your Persoal Brand. It came out this week and I’m pretty proud of it.  I shared some tips that will help you (or anyone) to build and showcase their talents online. I hope you will check it out.

“Casie Stewart knows a thing or two about leaving an online footprint. Recognized by Klout as one of Toronto’s top tweeters and bloggers, she has plenty of tips on how you can leverage social media channels as an invaluable element to your personal brand.”

Here are some tips on building your personal brand to help  establish yourself online:

  1. Set a goal: Make a plan for your brand. What are you passionate about? What do you want to be known for?
  2. Start a blog: Use WordPress, Tumblr, Blogger or Posterous to create a free home for your online activity.
  3. Find a mentor: Find someone who is doing what you want to do and introduce yourself, learn from them and get inspired.
  4. TGIF: Twitter, Google, Internet, Facebook: Create profiles for yourself online and update them regularly with things that align with your brand.
  5. Get Involved: Seek out events related to your passion and get involved by volunteering. This is a great way to grow your brand, meet others and learn from experts.

I’ve been building my personal brand online for over five years. At first, no one read my blog, and I had no followers on Twitter. We all have to start somewhere but have the potential to go anywhere. In the words of Napoleon Hill, “What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”

what are you talking about?

This is what I’ve been talking about recently on Twitter. Kinda cool. I like visuals and things that are pretty.

I’m not a big stats checker upper or anything but sometimes I like to look at charts or graphs. I really love Sysomos and their social media monitoring and analytics tools. They track things like sentiment analysis, workflow, Facebook & Twitter. Pretty neat stuff.

Are you using somehting cool I should know about? LMK!

BTW remember when I was hiring and some of you applied to work for me? Well, it’s ALIVE now. Meow. Check out The Central Counties! If you register and submit a story about something cool you did there you can win a helicopter ride.
