View PostYesterday evening I cruised over to Union Station for the free metric show hosted by Samsung. Show was to announce the launch of the new mobile device which seems pretty cool, android, big screen 5pm camera, touch keypad. O’Nizzle and I scored some last min VIP tickets and were front row for the whole show. Thanks Samsung! DANCED UP A STORM! I high fived Emily.. Oh yeah. I’m famous. Heh heh. We made an article on CTV.ca (how ironic?) and were quoted: “She approached three girls who were leaping and screaming beside me and shared a moment of “crazy eyes” with them that gave them perma-grins for the rest of the night.” Yeah that’s us and those were eyes of love. I’ve seen Metric a bunch of times but this was by far the closest I’ve ever been. We were in the media area and after seeing a bunch of MuchMusic & MTV people I was asked “who are you here for?”, I proudly said “I’m here for myself, as Casie Stewart”. Do you know how good feels? Before coming here I asked my Tweeps what I should do in Boston and O’Nizzle said to check out the legendry S&S Resto in Cambridge, Mass, so today we did. This photo was taken the year I was born. The place has been open for ages, since 1919 and heaps of famous people have dined there. Figured I should pass through too. Heh heh, ya never know how famous you’ll be until you try, ok. For reals. Check out this hot babe, the mama of the joint: It was really great! Pretty good service, ok coffee. This was my brekky, zomg it was nomnomnom. Pretty sure I recognized this guy, does he not look like Old Spice guy? Uh, yeah… It could be. Honestly. I bet Old Spice guy travelled back in time in his time machine and hand painted this image of himself, using magic leprechaun tears as the water with paint he created and blended with his own bare hands. View PostAfter walking around for coffee on Sunday for about an hour (almost everything in my hood was closed G20), I decided to day trip it to the island. I chose Wards Island as I have never been there before and was keen for a true adventure. Got the ‘I’m on a Boat’ badge on Foursquare for checkin’ in on the Island Ferry. This was a great way to start. I was dressed like a teenage dirtbag, in fact, a lesbian teenage dirtbag wearing rainboy bikini top. It IS Pride Week so, kinda fitting I guess. It was sunny all afternoon. It was hot. Spent some time staring at boats. Mum is about to sail to Bahamas on her boat next month. I dream of doing that one day too. Camera got a little heat stroke from humidity (that’s what I’m calling the water effect) and it started taking blurry photos. Regardless, I LOVE my new camera. It’s making the life-documentation process way more fun. Soaked it in some dry rice when we got home, baby is back in action now. That trick works for phones too. If anyone knows about wrecking devices, it’s ME. I’ve been through so many since starting this blog, not even gonna try counting. It was more than lovely. So relaxing. There was no noise, no distractions. I needed that. I needed a break from my busy life. I hung out on the couch at the Island Cafe on Wards Island. Read a book. A real book, like hardcover. I love the island, gonna go back a few times this summer. It’s amazing how refreshing a couple hours away can be. Enjoy the day!
View PostThe park is a hub for hipsters, style and creativity and it all rolls out of peoples closets for this sale each year. It’s my fav one to attend and I didn’t know it was on until a impromptu conversation after my lovely brekky at Niche. I picked up this awesome vintage purse from Brazil. All leather and so similar to one that Mum has (Jenie has it at the moment). I was a super hipster and grabbed a Vice mag from American Apparel on my way h0me. Got this sweet little collar and old gloves. They look so elegant! There’s a cool art installation in the park for Luminato right now. Crazy boat thingy you walk through with all these clinitygy-clangity sounds. This is a really crazy week. It’s NXNEi, MMVA lead in to Sunday, hair appt tomo with Darren, lots of posts to write and heaps to get done. I know I can do it. I have faith in myself. Good thing I spend so many years partying, staying up late, drinking and working hard…work hard play hard has been good training for this week. Ha! Happy Monday! Love you xo
View PostI got a new phone today from Motorola called the Backflip. This thing lets you stream emails and social networks into one feed and it backs all your stuff up. I’m testing it out this weekend to see if I like it better than the Milestone, that phone is gonna be hard to beat. I’m really liking Android in general. Think I might need to buy myself one of the custom phone cases to look after it though! Stay tuned for my thoughts on it. Twitter released it’s official app for Android today. Downloaded it. So far its ok. The homepage is portrait vs landscape which bugs me and it seems you can only have one account. I’ve been using the Seesmic app to publish and monitor about five accounts for work etc. The RT function doesn’t let you edit tweets first which is pretty annoying. Gonna give it a fair go this weekend along with the new phone. It’s been a really good day. Checked a few things off my list that I’ve been meaning to get done. Feeling super positive and looking forward to the weekend. Think it’s gonna rain tomorrow but I don’t mind, it’s been a busy week. Might clean my room if it’s rainy. Need to catch up on emails (sorry if you’re one of the people I’ve not emailed back yet). Gonna head over to Raymi‘s place for her roomie’s bday party tomorrow night. View Posti’m having one of those days. i’ve got heaps to do. it’s getting done but for some reason i’m just outta my head. i keep thinking, stop it, get back to work, don’t let your mind wonder, wander. i wish the sun would com out. it’s cold in here and i’ve not taken my jacket off all day. i even dressed cute today. sigh. i keep reminding myself how fun it’s gonna be tonight watching the hills with a bunch of friends at MTV. i always wanted to be able to do this. in my last post i was so excited and now i feel all weird. i said something stupid last night to a friend after a couple drinks and i think that’s what is getting me. sometimes we say things, it happens. the other day i got so upset over something that was not even necessary. i like to think i’m a simple girl but i’m complex and my mind is like a labyrinth sometimes. i go back and read things tagged writing and i feel some what at ease. it must be the creativity, left hand, wild imagination sometimes gets the best of me. i’m nervous and excited most the time, i love this feeling but sometimes it leaves me feeling open and vulnerable and i get scared. take my own advice, build a bridge and get over it. the other thing is that when you do things online all the time it’s all out there for everyone to see, they can see you, you can see them, the world is somewhat translucent. you can see, but you can’t always see through. this helps, writing it out. i got new analytics ,the other day. google, i love you but your site stats were just not cutting it…
