Part one of the first episode! We’ll be filming in the Canadian Rockies at the World Media Festival next week. I’m super stoked to head out there for my first time! Please subscribe to Coral. I can’t wait to share more of THIS with you!
It’s been picked up and curated for the on the Banff World Media Festival website already and showed up in my Google Alert. Cripes! I wanted this for a long tine and now it’s a REAL THING.
No turning back now! THIS is my life, thanks for being part of it!
Been loving a couple online shops lately. I don’t buy as much in real life as I do in my dreams but I like the ideas they give me to spice up my existing wardrobe. This image is from the Wanelo email. Wanelo is “a way to find unique products and stores you have never heard of.” I’ve been drooling a bit, figured I should share!
I hate the emails from Nasty Gal, they read my mind and know exactly what I want/am wearing. The ads follow me around online, taunting me with things they know I want. JERKS! These emails are what made me cave and buy a few pairs of Jeffrey Campbell shoes. Everything they send out is so nice and they have a monthly lookbook.
I think I have all these outfits on some vintage variation.
I love Jane Fonda in this Pucci Pre-Fall outfit. My fav collections are Cruise & Pre-Fall almost every year. One day I’ll have a boat and get to wear the cruise collections. Until then, I’ll settle for Mum’s boat and her vintages. 😉
Some wisdom shared by two of my fav fashion blogging ladies, Gala Darling, a Kiwi blogger living in NY and Gala Gonzales, an It Girl from Spain, living in London who travels the world for fashion. I partied with Gonzales in NZ at Fashion Week once. They’re both awesome girls you should know. Follow G.Darling and G.Gonzales.
On this day last year I arrived in Pensicola, Florida for work. We stayed in Margaritaville. It was beauuuuuutiful! Planking was a thing at the time and I tried to create a new trend ‘mermaiding’, it never picked up. See some pix here.
There were over twenty entries for the Sherway Gardens Spring Style contest and the winner is… VANESSA GRILLONE. Thank you everyone who entered. I’ll have more giveaways this summer. Some of the entry tweets below.
I’ve always taken ‘The Wizard of Oz’ very seriously, you know. I believe in the idea of the rainbow. And I’ve spent my entire life trying to get over it. Judy Garland
I have been loving Viddy lately. I don’t work for them but I met some of the execs at CES in Vegas and we were insta-friends. The image above is a bunch of vids I’ve made. They’re so bright and colourful.
Even this GROSS is not soooo bad.
Random Love Note.
Heard some really good tunes at FOAM – Future of Art & Music event this weekend.
This week I got a vile of sweat in the mail from El Tabador, the lucha loving Mexican midget from Koodo. I’ve been a Koodonation ambassador for almost a year. Together we donated $20,000 in my name to a charity in Malawi called Moving Windmills. Posted a TED talk with the founder last year.
Last night I went to this event that featured ‘Dirty Car Art’ check this out:
The night before I FINALLY met Candice, aka Edgy Veg who is also a host on Coral TV. Another one for the babe BLONDETOURAGE! Look how happy we are, cute.
We both have nerdy iPhones.
I’m in Mississauga for the day at a clients office teaching the ways of the web. Love it! Enjoy the day 🙂
There were a heap of entries! Thank you. I have a special code for two people to get 50% off a NXNEi pass. If you are interested, please let me know. First come, first serve!
My panels are BOTH on Thursday, June 14th at 9:30am and 10:45am. I hope you can make it! See the full schedule for details.
I loved seeing the human side of these people. It was inspiring.
Attending the show was great. I know George socially but I’ve never actually been to a live taping. This was the final show of his 8th season. Yesterday was a special friends & family presentation with the cast of Cosmopolis before they walked the red carpet at the Canadian première.
I should have taken a pen & paper because I forgot I wasn’t allowed to use my phone. NOTE TO SELF.
These actors made me think about myself, my career, my life. It’s really quite magnificent to be in the same room and hear them candidly speak about their lives, insecurities, and work. All photos by JJ Thompson. Thanks to the lovely Erin & CBC for sending right away.
He was watching a clip of himself from a movie with Reese Witherspoon where he played a very small part. Despite making millions, five twilight movies and dating K.Stew (who is on the cover of Vanity Fair July 2012), he’s lacks confidence, security. He was modest and slightly soft spoken.
He said he avoids the media because he doesn’t really know what to say and he isn’t that smart anyways. I imagined him to be more, more strong. He was undoubtly charming and his accent had my eyes light up with hearts like an old Loony Toons character. Tempted to rush the stage, I held back. Safe to saw, I was swooning.
The way Rob sat in his chair vs. David Cronenberg showed a lot about their characters. Cronenberg, a seasoned and incredible film maker, sat back in his chair, open body language, head held high while R.Patts was the opposite.
George asked David Cronenberg if anyone ever tells him “it should be done this way” or “do it like this”, he paused before answering and said “it’s been a long time before anyone told me what to do”.
Double swoon. The confidence he has in his work and artistic ability to create is insanely motivating and attractive, professionally.
Being weird is something I’ve really come to embrace and so has Paul Giamatti. Growing up I always had this artistic ability I couldn’t fight that lead me to be different, blaze trails and have ‘interesting’ fashion sense.
Giamatti is an excellent actor and I was surprised to hear him talk about having anxiety. He defined himself as being a bit weird and enjoys playing random characters that show up in movies playing a poignant role. Before shooting with Cronenberg & Pattinson he had some anxiety but is seems it’s a normal thing for him, any many actors to face when on a big project. You forget that the characters in moves are real people. Well, I do.
You will have a good chuckle hearing Giamatti talk about giving the US president a swift kick in the ass.
The special episode of GEORGE STROUMBOULOPOULOS TONIGHT will air on CBC on Thursday, June 7 at 11:05 p.m. (11:35 p.m. NT).
Be yourself, nobody will ever be a better you, than you.
Heyyyyy it’s Monday! Up early as today we start filming for CoralTV. My show is called THIS: The Hot Internet Show and it`s gonna be a mix of fashion, travel, lifestyle with a tech twist. You know how important technology is to my daily life, I`m practically a walking wifi with iPhone attached. So from ‘This is My Life’ on the blog for seven years to THIS on YouTube. I hope you’ll all tune in. It’s gonna be fun.
These photos are from Bloke & 4th with Lauren last week. It’s so nice to have a best friend. We had an awesome dance party at the Future of Art & Music event this weekend (FOAM).
This afernoon I’m heading to CBC for an in-studio exclusive, interview by Strombo with David Cronenberg, Robert Pattinson, Sarah Gadon and Paul Giamatti, to discuss their provocative new film, Cosmopolis.
Move over K.Stew, seeing your bf R.Patts at @Strombo tomorrow. C.Stew FTW! Nbd.
I always try to get the most work done on Monday’s in order to start the week off right. Get yourself a big coffee, put a smile on your face and listen to some good music. You always have to choice to make the most of the day or to let something/someone else determine your happiness.
Take charge. You are the director of your life.
This video is pretty funny! “When I walk in the barn, this is what I see” Jiggle part cracked me up.
“So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I’m still trying to figure out how that could be.”
Excited for the Perks of Being a Walflower movie. Trailer came out last night during the MTV Awards. If you are in Canada you can not see this trailer but you can watch at mtv.ca. I have never understood why MTV Canada does not let you embed their videos. Lame guys!
‘
Song frm the trailer. So good. “I’m never changing who I am“. Lead singer is potential boyfriend Dan Reynolds, dreamboat.
I publish a lot of things on the Internet. I’ve been told is it’s hard to keep up with’.
To me it is art. I have an obsessive compulsive obsession to make/build art/things/memories. Documentation is addicting. I’ve had days without Internet, I start scratching, yelling, freaking out, no just kidding, I do get antsy around 4pm. It happens more in weekends, sometimes I don’t feel like it then I miss it.
A Viddy I posted of a wizard guy with a fushingi ball was on the ‘whats’s hot page’. I used to go CRAZY using 12seconds.tv years ago, similar thing but not as awesome. Viddy is like Instagram for videos! It has filters, music, and a 15 second time clock. My profile is viddy/casiestewart. It’s intrgrated with Facebook timeline if you have’t noticed.
I really love the DIY projects from Honestly WTF. I pinned this gorgeous Louis Vuitton studded collar from the 2012 Cruise Collection and a couple weeks ago I (started) one just like it. Mine’s not ready to come out yet.
Weather is gloomy. About to do some work around the house and vaguely movies, currently on something about British school girls in boarding school on Cosmo. The sun came out for a few seconds, captured its soul. If you are still in the dark ages with an old phone you can browse any user’s Instaphotos in Statigram.
Cleaning up my office today was so good. I’m BACK! Made sewing corner and set up my sewing machine. I call her Zoey and its really about time we spent some time together. I have some patterns I’vebeen dying to make and this is the perfect time. There are so many simple things in style I could make and heaps of DIYs on the web.
Note on paper says this probably was written a year ago, fitting for today. Title of post was scribbled on the paper too. I don’t know the significance. I have a bad memory.
It’s cold outside,
Wanna stay warm,
Wind whipping my windows,
Winding my thoughts,
Whirl wind, words spin
I always wrap things around my head. I like my head covered. I like the way it feels. Thinking about wearing a gorgeous vintage silk turban tonight.
This is one of my old favourite quotes by the best Dr. around. This almost blank notepad was uncovered when I excavated office junk mountain. It’s amazing the treasures you find cleaning!
Must get ready & find something to wear tonight. Lauren and I are going to the Future of Art & Music warehouse party, ‘FOAM. It’s at Brickworks and there are all kinds of art, music, food & beverage things going on. Lozzie Pops did her first segment on the news for CBC today. I woke up early to catch her. So cute. Fav person on Canadian TV.
