i am slowly going crazy 1-2-3-4-5-6 switch crazy…

This is me on my way to work this morning. It was cold out but I don’t mind. I actually woke up and got a great start to the day. It’s almost 2pm and I’ve got a heap of things on my plate so this is a short update.  Planning for Twestival tonight, stay tuned. Magazine content is coming along prettttttty nicely.  Tickets are up for #HaiHaiTO/#genyTO, go get one. Have my 3 month review shortly, excited about that.  Lots of things to blog about, anyone wanna be my assistant and I’ll dictate my updates? Oh, that sounds like a dream. Athlete is back today, maybe I will get to kiss him again? Answered a bunch on formspring yesterday. I love you all for reading this blog and commenting. i feel like i get it, y’know, the internet stuff

I was feeling a little frazzeled. My phone froze in the night (not from the cold) which resulted in me waking up sans alarm and late for my little ‘wake up early,get shit done‘ plan. Alas… my attitude remains positive and I feel like I get it. Today I’m sharing skills, helping our newest intern learn about link building and little tips & tricks around Facebook & Twitter. Speaking of link building, if this is something you’re not too familiar with, but are looking for ways to implement SEO amongst your business, then getting in touch with professionals like Outreach Pete could make this part of a lot easier. It’d be on less thing to think about while you focus on other aspects. Digital marketing is a lot more expansive than I first realised. I’m going to suggest that we use something like these Digital Tepee SEO Services to help see where we’re at with our SEO and digital marketing efforts. Many people who run websites and businesses are likely to have use for something like Search Engine Optimisation Packages at some stage. I’ve waited worked a long time to have a job like this, and it feels great to be able to make suggestions like that. So many things happen in a day that I don’t remind myself of tell you about. For example, right now I’m eating a sub and Doritos with root beer. Last night I watched Jeopardy and had dinner at Terroni. I kissed the famous athlete before he shipped off England. I also had a mild panic attack about all the work I wanna get done . I realized I need to prioritize EVERYTHING. Finally, I went to bed later than I wanted to cause I got lost in Twitter and Tumblr. has anyone famous ever asked you out on a date?

I got asked out really nicely by a famous Canadian athlete this one time. I was in a coffee shop and he was sitting with his work mates. I walked in and he told them “I’ve gotta go talk to that girl”. He came over to me and casually said “Even if the coffee wasn’t so good, I’d still come for the music”, something like that. There was an old classic on the radio, they always played good music there. It was sweet and not too cheezy. It made me laugh.  I gave him my number and walked back to work smiling.

A couple years ago, 2007, I was in a job I began to hate so one day, I flat out quit. I started doing freelance PR. It was good glam for a while but then I was poor ass. So… I went to work at Hemingways, Toronto’s very own Little New Zealand in Yorkville. It was really fun. I hadn’t worked in a resto in a few years. It was a bit tough at first to adjust to the lifestyle but it really didn’t take long. I made friends with a heap of awesome people, mostly hot girls. I worked there for the best busiest time of year too; end of summer before Flm Fest – Christmas. I was proud of myself for not getting sad about not making enough money doing freelance work, instead I pulled up my socks, hiked up my miniskirt and started serving. No matter what job I was doing, I never lost sight of what I truly love…being social. Instead of complaining about  the waitress life I took more shifts and worked as much as I could. It was a good strategy and worked well to bond with other employees. I got a call in December from an old colleague, in recruiting who had an opportunity he thought I’d be great for. Turns out, I was great for it! I left Hems for that job and stayed there until recently leaving to work for the MuchMTV Group. It’s amazing to think of all the changes I’ve gone through. Been going through lots of photos lately, there’s only about 10,000 from the past five or so years. Wendy was one of my fav’s. She was a little crazy one just like me. We partied alot together. It was more than fun.  She moved away to Japan…

you really gotta work hard for what you want

“That’s a strange combination” was the response I got from Darius this morning on Twitter after I posted “tired.inspired.”  That’s how I feel. I told him I’d explain in a blog post and I’m quite happy to. I’m tired. I’m exhausted but I can’t seem to slow down, take a break, rest, sleep, or simply ‘do nothing’ because I am inspired. I’m excited. I want to work more and harder and pick up speed. The hardest part has now become focusing my time making the most out of each moment. It’s either working towards goals or doing things that inspire me to set new ones. It’s how entrepreneurs & inventors feel, driven.  When you bust your ass  working hard and you wanna sleep but you stay up all night to put in a few more hours because you love it. That’s how I feel. I love it. Today I am listening to Selah Sue and I did my hair like this girl with dark purple nail polish, red bandana. I checked Twitter just before posting this and Darius had just posted one of my favorite quotes… Words to live by. Have a nice humpitty hump day… * Did you see Marilyn Monroe smoking pot? It’s Britney’s birthday too, Happy Birthday once former idol. I hope this year is less train-wercky than the past few ♥ xo Casie

you make me happy when skies are grey

Woke up to a beautiful sunshine this morning. It doesn’t matter what happens in the day if I wake up and see a beautiful sunrise, I’m happy. It’s just so pretty. Remember when I posted about Movember? How are your faces growing? Good? Nasty? I hope you’ve got those babies groomed cause this Mo Sista is a JUDGE at the Toronto Movember Gala at the Kool Haus. Starts at 8pm, be there and find me if you want to win a prizey-prize. One of my Tweeps Gregory Alan Elliott told me he left a poem for me somewhere downtown and if I found it I win a  prize. Is this it? Did i find it? Ooooh me loves prizes! I’ve written lots of poems. Did you know that when I was 16 I wrote and published an Anthology of Poetry and prose called JEANS [sorry it’s not online anywhere yet, I was still a book/pen/pencil girl]. A friend and I started a publishing company and then won young entrepreneur of my city. Fancy that! This is one of my most favorites, I wrote it at 7am walking along Bondi Beach in 2004. lets not play games with each other ok?

It was freezing cold out last night. We did just what mature responsible adults do. Eat warm homemade chilli, drink wine, play board games. It was my very first time playing Cranium and I was stoked. This is me acting out “Winnie the Pooh”. Can’t you totally tell? Amy and I realized that we’ve been friends for a while yet never ‘actually’ hung out.  Crossing paths online and offline for god knows how long. It was about time. She’s in town from Quebec and it was a special treat to spend the night laughing together. I can draw pretty good…except with my eyes closed. It’s really harder than you think. You should probably try it this afternoon. Kelly may be better than me? Amy and I WON the game of Risk after. I have always hated that game but found a new love for it. Being on a team makes it way more fun. I went to bed early and woke up early and it feels wonderful. Today I’m going to a Frock Swap and then gonna Shmotter my closet. Enjoy the day. It’s beautifully chilly and sunny at the same time.

i got a new job

I just said bye-bye to my old job. I quit. I’m moving on… I’ve taken a position with Much & MTV on the Digital Marketing team. I knew when I read the description,  this job that was for ME. I remained positive the whole time and knew in my mind and my heart that this is what I truly want to do. I’ve worked really hard over the last year and it wasn’t luck that did it, it was preparation meeting opportunity.I used to work in web development Toronto and now I’m moving into new ground. I could not be happier than I am right now. I am proud to say, I have left a job and now begin a career. Thank you for your love and support. Let the wild rumpus START!! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

a sense of community, it feels like home

Lovely to wake up the the sound of nothing but Dad in the kitchen upstairs. No streetcar, highway, train or traffic. We headed out for brekky stopping at garage sales along the way. Dad picked me up in the hot rod last night. I saw everyone on the bus looking at the car and I loved it. How much would you offer for these tracks? He’s there tomorrow so I might go back. My favorite thing to do is at home is pop by the vintage boutiques. I have my favorites and never leave them empty handed. I got four pairs of shoes, three hats and a couple other jems. I picked up a vintage suitcase to bring them all in too. Sabrina said not to bring home a bunch of crap but I’m gonna get rid of some old clothes this time. Seriously, like before next weekend. Move in two weeks. Bonga’s band was playing at the Preston Music Festival so Mum and I walked over to Central Park.  Gresat music, gonna go back later. Some local friends brought their Mum’s too, it was cute. Insert joke: “Everybody and their Mom is here” haha. I was lucky that Mum, Dad and Dad’s GF were all there. Ya family! It’s wonderful to be home. I was daydreaming of moving from the city, back here. It’s so calm and peaceful. I’ve seen familiar faces all day.  Ran into my fav teacher Mrs. Bennett. I think I can call her Sandra now that i’m 27. I’ve taken in so many little things today I could write for hours. All things I don’t want to forget. Awesome. Have a great night friends. It’s beautiful out ♥

It’s interesting.  He Tweets.  I quite enjoyed a this bit of the book today when one of the characters, Zack said “To cope with this realization I chose nature’s ultimate ego-preservation tool: I chose not to give a shit”. This book had a good story to me before I even cracked the spine. I won’t tell you after I read it. I love this time of year when the seasons change. Magic.

it was so weird at the time, i couldn’t stop myself

i’m not sure what happened but it did. i light went on. it was a few things that lead me there. creative people around me, compliments on creative work, being surrounded by smart, successful, creative business people. thinking about ‘it’s not how good you are it’s hot good you wanna be’, one of my favorite books. i feel like i can’t really go back now. they say if you do what you love you will have success, i love doing this. i love writing and taking photos and laughing at myself and remembering thing things i forget. it makes me happy to do social good; social good in funness, good causes, good people. i stayed up all night. learning about things. reading blogs, commenting. drawing in sketchbook.when i have an idea i write it down. i’ve found some neat stuff lately and most i’ve posted on my tubmlr blog. it’s all the things i find around the internet that i don’t put here but like to share. i read a great article called ‘the 7 vices of highly creative people, posted on salon.com, Feb. 9, 200o. i know i have my vices and bad habits, but i have good ones too. read it here. “If you go through life free of bad habits, you won’t live forever, but it will feel like it. ”

Shocker last night from Rogers. Told me I maxed out on my internet usage and now they’re charging me per GB.  For me, that’s like trying to keep me from someone I love. Putting restrictions on the time we spend together.  I want no limits and I want to be able to spend all the time I want together.  I heard from a little bird that it’s gonna get worse too. I was really mad at Rogers, but I’m not anymore.  I’ll just have to take it! You can’t keep me from the internet. I didn’t shave the sides right down again, just a snip. Sorry @brundly_fly, I know what you said. I’d like it to grow a bit but the thing is that it’s going to be awkward and I refuse to have it look ugly. So, for now, it’s kinda same but not half shaved anymore, just short. If you want someone cool to do your hair, go see Darren. His spot is right across from Trinity Bellwoods and the vibe in there is so chill.  I love.  I love. I arrived home to find out we had two packages AND they were both for me.  Lucky day! I got two great snags. I’m not sure where the book came from but the video came from The Comedy Network. They wanna send me stuff now. THANK YOU! Getting mail is one of my most favorite things, especially surprise mail.
