Big ups & congrats to Bret McKenzie for winning an Oscar last night. I’ve been a fan of his since the first episode of Flight of the Conchords years ago. One time at Hemingays I met two dudes who looked JUST LIKE Bret & Jemaine, post here. In spirit of my love for New Zealand and missing my family here’s a great pic of Bret from last night’s show and a beautiful video from Cantebury New Zealand. Dad used to wear Cantebury all the time when I was a kid. Love the brand long time.  New Zealand is full of babes! 🙂 Mum is in Auckland right now my my auntie’s house.  I so badly want to go back and see my friends & family. Later this year  hope!

INSPIRATION: TRAVEL

It’s contagious. I peeled myself out of bed today after a super deep sleep. Was greeted by a delicious smooth in the fridge, thanks Barbie. The sun is shining and sparkling like glitter on the lake. Turned off the news for the aquarium channel, the fish tell less depressing stories. I want to travel. I know I just got back and I know I’m going places but I just can not seem to sit still. I caught a travel bug and it’s never going away. Had dinner with a friend last night who is off to England then Copenhagen and will be there for fashion week. (One day I will too.) She told me that she will be staying in a hotel called the Holiday Inn hotel in Kensington and it sounds amazing. She can’t wait to visit England and she’s equally excited about exploring Copenhagen too. I’m so jealous! We talked about how determined I am/we are to break out of Canada and move to a bigger ‘pond’. Canada is a wonderful country but I really want to do more international travel writing, working, and exploring. These photos are from a shoot I did with fashion photog & friend Lynsie Roberts when I signed the deal to go to New Zealand for Fashion Week in 2010. I was incredibly excited for my first international blogging adventure. I was radiant. Three places I REALLY want to go in 2012 year are: Cape Town, South Africa London, England Toyko, Japan If you have any thoughts, ideas or connections to make this dream a reality. LET ME KNOW. It’s a trending on twitter and it’s making news. Is this the war of 2012?  The war we knew was coming but nobody predicted exactly what because it wasn’t invented then. What if it sneaks up one day, like Sunday and ALL OF A SUDDEN… I can’t even imagine… Just think about how ANGRY and LOST you would be if you didn’t have your Internet life, love, freedom? Would I die? I might. I know I’m being dramatic but when I think about it, it seems like a 2012 movie that I’m IN, happening in real time, right now I don’t know much about hacking but ‘Largest Attack Ever‘ are big words.  Four peeps linked to Megaupload were arrested in New Zealand and are now being denied bail. Keri knows all about hacking and online security so naturally I went to her blog. Found this post: You NEED to Care About SOPA and PIPA We can’t vote in Canada on this, we’re counting on you big time, American friends! January 24 – please vote. Sh*t is going down right now! Those feds would shut this blog down in a hot second. I’m not in the USA but I’m sure they could make me stop publishing. The internet doesn’t have boundaries the way countries do.
