Heading to Manhattan and Staying in a Dream

Bag packed and heading to Porter after work. Catching a 7:30pm to Newark, NJ w/ my press escort aka Patricia. My trip is with essence cosmetics, the UK’s #1 brand who also happens to be the title sponsor of JB’s tour. We arrive in NY just in time to head out on the town for Thursday night drinks. I was last in NY in January and about a year before that so pretty stoked to be back in the Big Apple! We’re staying at Dream NYC in Manhattan and apparently all of JB’s peeps too. Tomorrow I plan to sleep in then hit up the NY Ted Baker store to get a new outfit for Friday night. Hardly packed anything! Counting down till 5:30pm when I head to airport. Hellooooooooooo long weekend! Have an awesome day! <3 CASIE

Ruby Tuesday Baby in Coral Crush

Good morning sunshine 🙂 Hope your day is off to a great start. Brandy Melville bag with “Friend of Saul” and “The Next Zuck” buttons. Got the Zuck one in Austin at SXSW.  Love this Ted Baker makeup tote and I have about 10 of these new Maybelline lipsticks. They’re all the same colour on the outside so it’s kinda hard to know which is which. Today’s colour is Coral Crush. These Sperry’s are so old and starting to crumble but I love them so much. I saw a new similar style but they had different animal prints and they were too tacky.  In other news, it’s beautiful out. I love it. Remember, you will never be younger than you are today, make the most of it! <3 CASIE

Toronto Pride 2013

Toronto Pride was a blast on Sunday. Danced in the street, had some drinks, and saw heaps of familiar faces. Ran into my sister on Church! Met a lovely deaf couple on a patio and fully had a conversation. It was nice to put my sign language skills to use. My ASL used to be pretty good but when you don’t use it, you lose it. This lovely boy on the left is my friend from Ted Baker’s 25th birthday party. Renaldo and I have photos from the last few years at Pride. Always with the great outfits! Love these outfits. Want one. Do NOT love his shoes. Those things creep me out. These animals really creeped me out. The rest of the photos below are less safe for work so this is your warning! Hope you had a lovely long weekend. Much love and light, <3 CASIE

Devil in the Blue Dress, Ford Blue

On Friday I went to Ford Canada’s annual Ford Blue party. I sat in this sexy blue 2013 Mustang, wore my fav Ted Baker London blue dress, and ate a bunch of blue candies. I love Ford events and how the brand consistently caters to media with small details to make sure they have a great time. The food was excellent, the entertainment was fun, and I had a few drinks of my fav Grey Goose. Last year I travelled to Detroit twice with Ford and I really got to know the brand personally and learn that they reall know how to do social well. Ford is one of the top social brands in the world. Definitely a brand other brands should be following. Thanks Ford for hosting us for a great night. They even had a shuttles running to take everyone back downtown from Sound Academy. I’ll be at the Auto Show next week to check out all the new cars Ford and the other auto companies have in store! Thomas Sabo SS13 Launch at The Shard, London, UK

On December 5th I went to the SS 2013 launch of Thomas Sabo. It was at the Shard London, UK. There had NEVER been an event there and it doesn’t open to the public until FEBRUARY 2013. Amazing experience to be one of the first Canadians in the building and post the first Instagram’s checkins OF LIFE. Ermahgerd. I got to meet Thomas Sabo himself and the new brand ambassadors Poppy Delevingne and David Garrett. Poppy was lovely and energetic with an accent I wish I could borrow. David is an American/German, violin playing, bad boy with long hair, great style, and a beard.  Both total babes. There were a pile of celebrities there including including Formula 1 driver Nico Rosberg, Jade Jagger, British Pop group Sugababes and Ellie Goulding. The new GOLDEN SILVER line is all about tri-colour matching Sterling silver, rose gold and yellow gold. I wore that gorgesous dress from Ted Baker London, with a Ted’s purse, vintage jacket, Top Shop tights, Thomas Sabo jewellery, and Jeffrey Campbell shoes. It was so much fun. Here’s a little recap of my night! Makin’ history…

Rockstars don’t call themselves a rockstars, but in this case Marketing did.

This article originally appeared in the Nov. 30 issue of Marketing as part of “Being Influential”. Casie Stewart has been many things. She’s worked as a consultant, brand ambassador, spokesperson, copywriter and community manager. Until this autumn, she juggled freelance work as each along with sponsorship deals with brands like Canadian Club, LG and Cadbury seeking mentions on her life blog and social streams. Then in September she made the jump into the agency world, accepting a position as director of social media at Community, a small Toronto-based agency that works on campaigns for clients like LiveNation, Heineken and Bacardi. Stewart says she’ll maintain her social presence (which includes 14,000+ followers on Twitter) despite her new nine-to-five and is participating in upcoming influencer programs by Ted Baker London and Telus. At Community, Stewart is using her personal network of influencers and experience as a blogger to inform client work. As a sought-after influencer, Stewart’s participated in dozens of social campaigns. These are four of the best. READ HERE.

Faded Soul, Napajiri Jacket, Blondes, Ch*Armz

About a month ago I got this jacket from Faded Soul online. I love it. It’s got a cool shape, nice front pockets, has a big hood, and fits like a poncho. I creeped online to learn it’s from European brand Napajuri. They have a really cute campaign with a couple travelling across Europe in the clothes. People get to vote on what they do on the journey. I want to BE IN this campaign. It’s so cute. She’s blonde too. I’ve been asked where I got it so I checked and there are still more!  The site is fadedsoul.com and you can find it here. Mine is a size small. I think there might be a fur hood to add from what I see in photos. Hat H&M, pants Yoga Jeans from ShopGirls, boots Sam Edelman, bag Nella Bella Faded Soul is a new Canadian internet store that is owned by a friend of a friend. They have heaps of stuff for guys and girls. They’re on Facebook and Twitter too. Brock ordered some sweet John Varvatos shoes and posted photos here. I was immediatley attracted to this other brand I’d never heard of called ‘Blondes make Better T-Shirts’. The shirts are, well, blonde and fun. I got the ‘Skinny’ and ‘Pull’. Tres cute. Last week I was sent this striped ballet shrug from Ch*arms. I wasn’t sure what was arriving but once opened the package I knew these were gonna come in handy.  I also got set of sleeves that velcro to your bra strap for under short sleeve shirts. I wish I thought of this! They retail for $28 and can be purchased online at ch-armz.com. I have some more fashion things to blog this week; new jeans, Ted Baker opening, Thomas Sabo project. Congrats again to Obama. I’ve been on his team for…

Trying New Things: Decorating w/ Cry Baby Cakes

Had an absolutely lovely afternoon last week! On April 20th I was invited to a cake decorating class w/ Firebird Delivery and Cry Baby Cakes. I discovered Brooke Cowitz, chef & owner of Cry Baby Cakes, a few months through my friend Charley and I’ve been obsessed ever since. Her cakes are incredible, each one is a work of art. Look at these!!! Firebird Delivery brought together a stellar group of women to learn from the best and decorate with Brook at her Cry Baby Cakes studio. The space is so cute, it’s full of light and filled with carefully curated new & vintage. And lots of plants! Cry Baby Cakes Workshop Brooke took us through a workshop and Firebird delivery provided us with everything else we needed to celebrate 420 together. It was perfect. 😎 View this post on Instagram A post shared by Brooke Cowitz (@crybaby.cakes) View this post on Instagram A post shared by THE APARTMENT 🛋 VINTAGE STORE (@theapartmentlife) I really wasn’t sure how to decorate mine so I scrolled crybaby.cakes Instagram for inspo and decided on a flowery design with pink & yellow buttercream. It got more elaborate as I went on, I added pink gumballs, a ribbon of vintage-inspired icing, edible flowers, and glitter. Voila! There were about 10 of us there and each cake turned out so unique. Highly recommend following Cry Bay Cakes and keeping an eye out for her next workshop! If you’re looking to get anything cannabis delivered to you fast AF, check out firebirddelivery.com. 👍 I cut into my cake when I got home and it was delicious. Gave a few slices to friends so I didn’t eat the whole thing!

I’ve Got No Roots, But My Home Was Never on the Ground

People often think short hair is low maintenance, it’s not. I  mean it’s quick in the morning on a daily basis but this short blonde hair is totally high maintenance. Through my partnership with Sassoon this year, I’ve had regular salon trips to trim my hairline and bleach + tone touchups every 6 weeks or so. The crazy thing is, I’m almost always just between having it cut or needing a cut. I wouldn’t change it though, this short blonde hair is something that makes me unique, stand out, feel good, I love it. I really love getting my hair done at Sassoon Toronto. Kimberly, who does my blonde is hilarious and I would love to have beers with her. She is also blonde, same age, has a beardy BF, and incredibly good at getting the perfect blonde. Last week 2 things happened that were super great but stressful. One, I learned never to change my blonde and two, was in a commercial shot by 1188 (Sean’s company!). At my Tuesday hair appointment, I told Kim that I wanted to go ash blonde. A little more ashy blonde, this on someone with long hair isn’t that big of a change. On short blonde, it is major. My hair is normally the ‘Baby Blonde’ you see below, ash is the light blonde in the bottom right. Big difference! SO, Kimberly did what I asked and gave me a beautiful ash blonde. When I sat up from having the colour washed, I was like WHOA. No. Omg no. I didn’t like it. To anyone else, it was a cool ash blonde but to me, I looked like someone with brown hair! I don’t know what I was thinking changing my look. I’m never doing it again, and the week of a shoot fml. The team at Sassoon, especially Kimberly were so cool about it and we gave it…
