she looks so pretty with blood on her face

It’s where beauty meets eats brains

So gross hot. I surprise myself all the time with my love for Zombies. I don’t like anything to do with blood or guts and cringe when I see them on TV. However…I love Zombie fun. I reckon I’ll be a Zombie pinup girl this year.

If it rains tomorrow I will not be doing the Toronto Zombie Walk for the following reasons:

  1. It’s not fun to walk in the rain with a bunch of people
  2. Blood will stain my white wellies when it drips on them
  3. It’s not so fun to be a soaking wet cold Zombie
  4. Flesh woulds will wash off in the rain
  5. I don’t want to catch a cold before starting my new job

it all started out to keep memories anyways

I started this blog in 2006 so that I could remember more stuff. I found I was always forgetting and a couple friends started to get annoyed, as did I.

Now, I love this blog, I love it everyday. I look back in time and be reminded of people, places, things, and thoughts; stories from Mum, travelmovies I saw, genius ideas, stuff about style.

I’m proud of a couple girls I know who’ve been inspired to start their own blogs. Keep it up ladies, mama loves you!! They are: Cara’s Wild on Rice, Irie’s The Shnitz, & Katie’s Tales ans Snippets.

I finally cleaned my room and unpacked most of my stuff last night. It was great waking up to a floor I could spin around on without falling into a bunch of boxes.

I hope you all have a really great day.

i got a penpal sanasaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!

Something made is just the best. When someone makes you a card and you get it, it’s like, totally amazing.  Jenie painted me a watercolor card at Christmas. It was beautiful. This is very exciting to me…meet @hillzy, my first penpal since I was a kid.

She sent a survey: The Casie Stewart-vey ♥ V.1.0 CS 2009

Here’s just a few of my answers:

Q1) Favorite colour: green

Q4) I firmly believe:

1) you can achieve if you believe

2) in love

3) it doesn’t hurt to be easy on the eyes

Q5) If  I could pack up and leave Toronto, I would go: back to Bondi Beach, Australia

Q9) Things I must have in my handbag:

1) smartphone

2) pen/pencil/sharpie

3) sunnies

Q10) My favorite part of the day is: when the sun shines through the clouds

I got out the art box and there’s lots of goodies in there and I’m gonna send something back now. Something that nobody, nobody ON OR OFF the internet has…something I made. Art.

* Side note: Hey Mum, who was my last penpal, was her name Darlene?

factory girl

I slept for 12 hours last night. I laid down, exhausted, at 8pm and was woken up after 1am. Sabrina thought I had been at the Notable TV party. My body and mind obviously needed rest.

Today’s a day for wellies, a mini and no tights….it’s gonna be 17 degrees! Oh, I love!

I’m kinda gonna miss walking through the factory each morning. It’s really pretty especially during fall when the leaves on the vines change colour.

Sabrina and I really enjoy this red vine. Don’t mind the gay look on my face! I’m much better when I smile…

There’s a lot of history and old fixtures that I enjoy; the rail tracks, old boiler room, old fire hydrants. The new office will have it’s own things to love, this I do not doubt.

The closing date for the Harajuku Lovers contest is FRIDAY! I originally messed up the date but have been informed by the sponsors that it is TOMORROW. I’ll be making the draw for the winner after 5pm.

Tomorrow night the October edition of GenYTO at Spice Safar on King West. Come celebrate with me. Come meet and greet with a bunch of TO’s smart, young, cool people. It is a night not to be missed!!

What’s up with the new Olympic Torch design? I don’t like it. I prefer a REAL torch.

i got a new job

I just said bye-bye to my old job. I quit. I’m moving on…

I’ve taken a position with Much & MTV on the Digital Marketing team. I knew when I read the description,  this job that was for ME. I remained positive the whole time and knew in my mind and my heart that this is what I truly want to do.

I’ve worked really hard over the last year and it wasn’t luck that did it, it was preparation meeting opportunity.I used to work in web development Toronto and now I’m moving into new ground. I could not be happier than I am right now. I am proud to say, I have left a job and now begin a career.

Thank you for your love and support.

Let the wild rumpus START!! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

sentimental, sent a mental note

It’s one of those days, the kind when you’re waiting for something that could make a big difference in your life. Something you really want. Lisztomania plays on my phone waking me up and all I can think of is the brat pack mashup. I love the 80’s. It feels cold outside from inside here. I lay in my bed as I write this. I dreamt of NYC last night. I’m excited for the weekend. I’ve been waiting a year to be a zombie again. Saturday night I’m going to a ball. I woke up to emails filled with positive thoughts and one about a package and the post office. It’s too early to get up and get moving but I just can’t sleep. I just can’t sleep, there are too many things keeping my mind a race today…

did ya get my costumes from the cleaners?

It’s Monday morning…I’m looking forward to Friday and all the days in between. This week is jam packed with exciting things and it is going to be f-u-n.

I’ve got my dress at the cleaners for the 1950’s Madwomen party on Tuesday.

Wednesday is Fashion Week time with Notable TV‘s Fashion Week Affair in the evening.

Thursday is my time.

Friday is GenyTO. Saturday is zombie walk.

Depending what you fancy there’s plenty of fun to be had.

I’d like to wish Happy Birthday to the Amazing Saul Colt, Courtney ‘save it for later’ Greig and my friend I miss in NZ Simon a.k.a DJ MON. Thinking of you and your awesomeness.

Have a great day guys 🙂

wild things: i rememeber it different

I guess we all do.

The book’s not many pages, some with only pictures of wild things and a rumpus. What’s is a rumpus really? We all remember the book and love it. Loved it. My mum hated it at first, not feeding the child his dinner and then the monsters.

Saw Where the Wild Things Are in IMAX last night.

Cruised Chapters before the movie and read the soft cover  to refresh my mind. In my memory it was a wild adventure of excitement, travel  and friendship. After twenty years, I only  remembered a feeling and not much of the storyline. The book is surprisingly short.

It was better in my mind. It  it always is. I’m glad I saw it.  We didn’t stay for the whole thing.

I know Max gets his dinner at the end. The voices were good, especially Kevin’s mom from Home Alone, Forest Whitaker and Chris Cooper (the weird kids Dad from American Beauty).  The wild thing kid is the is actually named Max in real life.

Go see it and be gentle with criticism, it will always be better in your memory. I’m really glad it’s in a movie now and would like to own a copy. The IMAX speaker & sound intro was really fun for me., it was my first time.

Keep calm and carry on wild things…

Go on follow my blog with bloglovin

it’s warm in my heart and my little red tights

I woke up in a great mood. It’s good day I can feel it. Had a nice brekky at Roastery with Jeff,  they have the best music. Soon as I got to the office I re-played I love the Nightlife on my Blip Station for my Twitter peeps to enjoy. It was perfect the perfect tune to dive into work with enthusiasm.

I’ve got two new penpals and am expecting mail. They’re both in the GTA so if you live far and wanna be my penpal, leave a comment and we’ll chat about it.

I’m also excited because some dear friends in the USA are sending me a camera in the mail!! Remember I broke mine? Lucky girl right here! Say goodbye to these Blackberry photos and hello to my pretty litte face nice and clear.

People went wild over this a photo I posted of my sis and I yesterday. Saying we’re Twins and stuff.  She’s probably the cutest thing…ok she ties with me. haha You can follow her on Twitter. I’m trying to get her into it as much as me but it seems I have a passion like no other!

Reminder to enter the Harijuku Lovers Contest by emailing [email protected] to tell me something you love. It’s that easy. I’m gonna pick the winner live on 12seconds.tv October 30th.

I love Fridays! Have an awesome day 🙂

some people have real problems…some kill it

It happens every year when the season change. You know what I mean, we all go through it. You wake up and wonder what to wear, what will it be like today? Outside? Inside at work? I think and say out loud “why don’t I wear a bikini under a parka so I’m prepared when it’s either freezing bloody cold or damn hot?” Ok…I exaggerate…

I remember this one job I kept a blanket at my desk all year round. I  never knew if I was planning for heat or air conditioning, never mind the unpredictable outdoor weather. It’s a problem but not like a really serious one…

I love fashion and style and clothes but don’t talk about them that often.  I’ve got a couple favorite blog spots that do cover fashion and they’re really good.

I  like their style and they’re all so damn cute. They are:

Go check them out. You will like.

if google was my boyfriend

I forgot something I said to Keri last night when we were hanging  out so I Tweeted her to remember. I had a three-way on Skype with Bob in Atlanta and Ellen in Boston, then Keri joined in from my place. I miss the famous Mayor of Twitter so I Google Waved him hello.

Sabrina’s letting me pick out my Christmas present so I shop online and send it to her over MSN. I also don’t know if I’ve won the Build a Bash party yet so I obsessively Tweet at them and upload Twitpics of me visiting their site.

I send photos to Posterous that update to a Facebook album and then post to Twitter. Oh the love is going round and round…

This morning we were chatting about Google being a good boyfriend…

Pros of Google BF

  • Very open communication
  • Easily connected to each other – in sync
  • We won’t can’t hide anything from each other
  • Her puts out alot
  • He knows what I like
  • Keeps track of all the blogs I like in a Reader for me
  • Makes my photos pretty and appeals to my artistic side with Picasa
  • makes it easy to subscribe to my life
  • He makes money for me and him
  • He’s got lots of room for me to grow and store stuff online
  • Manages groups well – open relationship?
  • Likes to travel the Earth
  • Helpful when I want to know something
  • Good at Jeopardy
  • Likes to get to know me
  • Good for maps and directions
  • Sorts mail and throws out junk
  • Could give me an even cooler office to work in
  • Helps with advertising

Cons of my Google Boyfriend

  • That smartass has an answer for everything
  • Terms and conditions
  • Uses algorithms all the damn time and I hate math
  • Kinda creepy collecting so much information about me
  • Sometimes throws the wrong things in the trash
  • He’s been everywhere so there’s hardly anything new to him

There’s gotta be more cons…I can’t help but see more positive 🙂

swinging from silk ropes over you

A couple years ago I got my first taste of a Cirque show at Fashion Cares in Toronto. I was amazed by the high flying action of the performance as they twisted and turned in long silk ropes above our tables and later on stage. My first thought, I wanna be suspended like that and wrapped in silk.

I’ve not seen a full live show here but I would like to. I’m amazed by the balancing and contortionists. I used to be able to put my feet behind my head in some bendy ways but I pretty much stop at the splits now!

There’s a new Cirque show called Banana Shpeel, A New Twist on Vaudeville. It’s a comedy and seems like it will be right up my  (and your) alley, down to the leading little blonde saucy lady. She’s adorable and ind full of sass. I didn’t see a plan for when it comes to TO yet but I will keep and eye out for us.

It’s playing soon in New York and Chicago,  so if you can, go see it and tell me all about it!  More info here.

ride that wave right into the sunset baby

I’m proud to announce, I have Google Wave invites.

I love Google and I’ve said it before. I think Google is a company that understands how humans communicate and interact and they are consistent in their efforts to make it easier for us.

Also, Google stuff is very affordable so that everyone can participate making it something adopted by pretty much everyone online.

I’m not exactly how it happened but I imagine it’s related to my natural socialness and all the other stuff I do involving the internet.  I announced it on Twitter and now I’ve got a bunch of people requesting and I’m not sure who to give away the last few to?

I have a contest open right now to and all you have to do is tell me what you love…you can enter it here. I’ve contacted a few people and if they don’t get back shortly I’ll move down the Wave list and maybe I’ll shoot you an invite too. Comments are good luck 🙂

il y était une fois

Bonjour chacun !

Good Morning everyone! Today I am reporting from beautiful Montreal. It’s kinda cloudy but I’m preying for sun.  It was a really long drive yesterday. Getting out of Toronto took forever, there was so much traffic and the weather was shit.

We stopped for dinner in Kingston there was horrible style and our waiter was wearing shorts with a tie and dress shirt. Dinner was $80 and we tried to leave out left overs but he chased us down the street with them. I left them on a patio at another restaurant.

I’ll take some photos when we’re out today and update this baby later. Bon weekend!

*good thing Jeff is bilingual 😛

you could say i will be giving thanks all weekend

Helloooo Friday! I’m so happy to see you. Aw thanks, you look great too. New hair looks polished? Why thank you,  you’re charming. No, it hasn’t been that long, I saw you about a week ago.

Yeah, we’re ALL going away today; me, you, him, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, it’s a roadtrip to Montreal baby. It’s gonna be awesome. I know, haven’t been there in a while and last time wasn’t even that fun.

Just found out little Michelle is gonna be there too. Oh yeah. I’m excited too! I’m even looking forward to the drive with you. What to wear Friday? It’s ok, I packed a few extra’s you can borrow. There’s lots of people in town , been ages since we partied together.

LOOK OUT is all I have to say…the weekend is HERE!

p.s. Fetish porn anyone?

my memory lacks initiative

I cruised home then flew to my hair appointment last night and in my head I could hear ‘tonight’s gonna be a good night’…..

The thing I love most about going to see Darren is checking in every six weeks with  updates about our lives. Both of us always have things to be excited about. I sit down in the chair, he plays with my hair, we chat and before I know it I’m root free and feeling beautiful.

I took him and a friend as dates to the Indie Week launch. I got a media pass and I WAS social media in full force.

I met a zillion bands and uploaded Twitpics of them so I could remember who’s who. That’s the great thing about the internet, it helps you remember stuff. I spent most of the time chatting to everyone on the patio  abut their bands and me being awesome. It was a blast.

I had the pleasure of FINALLY meeting the lovely little Carly from Fairley Agency in person. She’s adorable and her blog is Kap One Two. Totally forgot that Ashley works there also 🙂

I got a bunch of crap in my gift bag to look through tonight, had my nylons ripped & got my ass tapped with drum sticks. Overall, it was a good night.

I’m heading out again tonight to Hideout, Reverb and Bovine Sex Club before leaving for Montreal tomorrow. I will gladly give my media pass to someone this weekend. If you would like it leave a comment.

Jenie  and I ran into Johanna and Cassie on our way home from Nuit Blanche on Saturday night.  She just sent me a bunch of photos. Thank you.

i think this brain would be pretty tasty

Zombies……I can’t stop thinking about them….

As soon as it turned October, it’s like my body knows it’s Halloween and I wanna dress up and wear masks and makeup and wigs and stuff. I don’t like scary movies or blood and gore but I love to dress up Zombie.

The walk is coming up Oct. 24th. There’s gong to be a bunch of us and I’d love you to join in the bloody fun. I saw some photo’s on Tony’s blog of the Hollywood Walk last week and I’m pretty sure that’s what got my Zombie thoughts into overdrive.

One more thing…

I mentioned a while ago that fellow blogger and comic drawer extraordinaire Mr. Sean Ward has taken up residence in San Francisco.  His crew just produced this new video. Check ‘er out!

Have a great day 🙂

we can thank each other at the party! Ya!

pay it backward more than ever

I’m touched every time I see the Where the Wild Things Are preview. Must dig up the ‘Save the Wild Things’ shirt before I go see it.

Notable TV put up a preview video about Pay it Backward Day you can see here. We’ll get the total count this week. I spoke with Daily Challenge co-founder Darius Bashar and he said the numbers are ridiculous.

I ran into some friends there including Warren and Sass who (thankfully!) had camera’s to capture us in action. Warren broke the existing world record and was number 603. Woot!

Check out stylish little Sass from Zucket.com. She’s in the Much VJ search along with Lady Duva. I thought about entering…  Check out Sass’ video here and Duva here. Best of luck to all the girls I know!

Love that we posed kinda the same . Blog girls are so cute

gone with the windows

Nuit Blanche made me really, really miss my camera.  I can’t go on without one any LONGER! This photo is from Torontoist and by fellow top TO blogger Andrew Louis.

Queen & Spadina was a busy, busy place at 3am when we all came back to my house. Almost everyone we went out with last year was away and the night was much less artistic in their absence.

My new room is my favorite place to be right now.  There’s scattered unpacked boxes, electronic equipment and clothes. I’m watching a movie called Leaving Normal from 1992 and having a wonderful Sunday night. I purged a bunch of clothes and have a huge bag of good stuff for Mum to give to these teenage girls she knows my size.

I’m snacking on plain puffed wheat Kashi and drinking hot water with fresh cut ginger. The challenge is to remember to drink it before it gets cold. I had a bath too. My oldbathroom had a stand up shower and I feel like I’ve graduated to absolute bliss!

I’ve got lots to share this week. So much I had to plan it out, the blog beat’s picking up tempo…

that was a really great way to start the morning

I checked out to update blog on lunch and the guys beside me were gabbing away about internet, SEO and social media. I tried my hardest not to pipe up and join the conversation.

They’re in the back of this video and were wondering what the heck I was doing. haha If they only knew! I say ‘layers’ at the end, hard to hear I know. Everyone was talking loud.

I love style but in the summer it’s hot and a dress alone will usually do. Fall, that’s when all the good guys come out. I’ve got a new closet to display them all beautifully and I know they’re all dying to be hung. avatars myspace at Gickr.com

That’s the plan for the weekend, unpack all my crap and put it in its place. I don’t even mind if it rains, I would love to watch a thunder storm over the lake or stomp in some puddles.

Have a great day!

giving feels so good

In my house growing up, we weren’t religious. I remember be nice, share, give, say thanks.  Mum and Dad raised us to be good kids. This week was Pay it Backward Day and I did good with hundreds of others across Ontario.

I’m waiting to find out the final count of just how many wonderful people participated. The Queen and John location alone had over 1,000!

avatars myspace at Gickr.com

I got a heads up from a friend about an Ontario Tourist Attractions photo contest on Lenzr sponsored by Kanetix insurance and mortgage quotes.

You send in a photo of anything in Ontario you think tourists should see. (Me?) The winner gets a $200 American Express gift card and second prize gets $100. Uh, that’s awesome. Who doesn’t love cash?

This big unit is one of my favorite attractions. The lights dance every hour on the hour through the night and it’s just beautiful. Go to  Lenzr to enter.

it’s great to be alive

Watched Glee last night, ok, funny but too much singing is a no for me. I get annoyed. Watched Eastwick too. Picasa new download, face recognition through Google now. Whoa, awesome.First official day of waking up to a new view in a new house and I love it.

Last time I lived this close to water, with a view (besides living on the opposite side of this building) I was in Bondi Beach, Australia. It was a very, very happy time in my life. I feel like I’m revisiting that happiness again.

Made this from my bed:

Day one of life on the South side on 12seconds.tv

2000 small acts of kindness one big difference

I would like to take a minute to remind you ALL that tomorrow is Pay it Backward Day. I’ll be at the PIB headquarters as Chief Firecracker located at Second Cup, Queen & John (across from Much Music).

However, if you can’t make it there, find one of the 170 locations across Ontario. Finally, if you can’t make it to Ontario, you can still take part by making a donation through the secure donation form on the Daily Challenge site.

Pay It Backward Day

This time, our goal is to raise $10,000 for the Sick Kids Foundation in less than 12 hours.  Second Cup will donate $5.00 to the cause when you buy the person BEHIND you in line a coffee. In April, we had over 600 people take part in about four hours. I KNOW we can do this.

Flow 93.5 will be broadcasting live, Metro news & Notable TV will be there and MANY other cool do-gooders.

Last time I got asked out on a date by a total hunk so you never know what might happen!

See you tomorrow 🙂

high heels and moving furniture

Had a good sleep, feel rested. Fun weekend. We went antique shopping yesterday and found some jems. They need to be photographed before I tell you about them, they’re really that good.

Rode the street car to work in the rain this morning. It was packed like sardines and I had some young guys armpit in my face for half the ride. I wore my Wellies and a rubber coat. I love when it rains,  I love wearing rain gear.

The best thing about us moving on a rainy day is not going outside. We get keys to our new unit tonight; better view, higher up, more space.  I’v managed to avoid a case of the Mondays and am quite looking forward to the rest of the day. That’s all for now. Have a great day 🙂

dita von teese casie stewart perez hilton sandwich

Twitter is a great for communicating directly with anyone or to a large audience. Here’s  an example of someone famous saying something and another famous person’s famous blog with me in the middle.

Last night, Dita tweeted that ‘when russian hookers fight, they take off a shoe and throw it at their foe. FYI.’ I was like whoa man that’s crazy and replied ‘you’re at a hooker fight?’ Then she replied.

`

Today Perez Hilton posted about Dita and ‘the fight’ mentioning her response to ME.  Didn’t link back to me but whatever,  the tweet lasts forever 😛 Thanks to Pam for pointing it out, rarely read Perez anymore. I’d loved Dita for ages and think that’s pretty cool.

p.s. Check out in the latest Notable TV video from TEDxTO. Me and my outfit are at 2:46 🙂
