whatever will i wear? i need your #help.

The Have a Heart Auction is on Feb. 10th and I need something special to wear. I’m doing Rogers Daytime TV that day too.  I like this style of dress, has to be short and cute. Emma Stone is such a babe.

I was looking for an image of the outfit Carrie Bradshaw was wearing on the cover of her book. Remember the cute black blazer w/ mini skirt one & she had her laptop in her hand? Thanks Google.

This is pretty cute though.

DO NOT WANT THIS. Gah.

OR THIS, OMG. …actually OMFG.

I found so many photos like this. Look, it’s me errry day 24/7/365.25.

If anyone out there wants to connect me to someone who would like to dress me for the  Heart & Stroke auction (or anything!) send an email to casie at casiestewart.com. Let’s hope mama rings in the big bux for charity.

Imma go to the gym now. ILU Byeeeeeeeee!

the fifth most awesomest thing of the day?

This is an old photo, some time in 2009. Love browsing old ones, so many memories, outfits and hairstyles. Came across mostawesomestthingever.com yesterday and it’s pretty awesome.  Give yourself a few mins to play there. Computer is 74th Mom is 26th.

Can you guess what the 5th most awesomest thing of the day is?
Starts with ‘C’ (ends with ‘ASIE’ haha I kid, I kid). No really it starts with ‘C’. Guess!

Haven’t been drawing much lately but reckon I should. There are so many things I would like to have on a tshirt like this:

These are all words from the most recent Twitter lists I’ve ben put on. I alwasy check those out. It’s  neat to see how other people view you, what categories they put you in. Some make me feel real proud too. Check yours.

Klout says CASIE STEWART is a Networker:

You know how to connect to the right people and share what’s important to your audience. You generously share your network to help your followers. You have a high level of engagement and an influential audience.

Uh hey, thanks guys.

Caught this on Tavi’s tumblr, how fitting. Creative people prone to madness? Yes. Prone to Madness & RADness.

A collage of 800 words from the front page of my blog made up this wordle. Pretty neat. Love is the biggest because I love life and love stuff all the time.

OMG. best boyfriend EVER!

Oh Ken, You shouldn’t have!

“I can’t stop thinking about you. … Every girl wants to be like you because of your adventurous spirit. “

“No other doll can hold a candle to your fashion sense, and I can’t think of anyone else I prefer to stand beside.”

“This October I was on the lookout for you at Toronto Fashion Week with my Kentourage, but you were nowhere to be found. “

“I’ll do whatever it takes to win you back.”

I won’t give up until you give me another chance. Barbie, we may be plastic but our love is real.”

Rose is real too!

Here’s the best part…

I was tickled pink when I got this package today. Still smiling. It’s so creative and fun. Love, love, love it. I bet it was so fun putting this together!

I’m a big fan of Barbie (as you know) and I’m also a huge fan of what is what Mattel is doing with Barbie & Ken online. @barbiestyle & @officialken are active on Twitter and they both have Facebook and Foursquare here & here.

I googled “Kentourage” and found out that Ken is REALLY asking Barbie to get back together.

There’s an event coming up Feb. 8th at the Eaton Centre and barbieandken.com has this on it:

There’s also a show on Hulu hosted by Whitney Port called Genuine Ken that I didn’t know about either. I like the idea of them togetether, Sweet Talkin’ Ken & Barbie Video Girl.

I hope I find my very own Ken. Maybe he will be the is the highest bidder in the auction on Feb. 10th.

Thank you Amanda for sending. You made my day 🙂

get ready to sign your name here lady OR gentleman…

I’m in a charity auction for the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

There are 20 people in the whole auction.  I have no idea who the other girls are but, I do know you will be able to bid on bloggers  Zach Bussey & Dan Levy and young darling Brock McLaughlin.

Maybe I will find a date myself?

Remember when Scar Jo sold a date on e-bay for charity? That was kinda hot, wonder how much she went for? Oh y’know, about $40,000 USD!

Let’s hope I break $100.

The event is hosted by Ally & Dani from the Girls of TO blog and all proceeds to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. See the press release here.

I was on a skipping team for the H&S when I was in Primary school so when they asked, I totally said yes. I’m nervous but mostly about what I am going to wear. Ah!

Highest male & female bidders from the audience get Nella Bella bag (my fav!) and a $100 bar tab covered by Sleeman Brewery. Let’s hope someone is sharng that with me at the end of the night ok 😉

Date:February 10, 2011. Doors  8PM.
Location: The Hideout, 484 Queen Street West
Cost: $5 at the door
Bidding begins at $25

It’s the Thursday night before GenYTO during Social Media Week. Good thing I’ve been hittin’ the gym lately.

*covers eyes with hands* OMG. OMG.

YOU wanna get involved?

I’m planning lots of fun things for the next couple months and thought I’d go ahead and extend an invitation for YOU to get involved!

There’s no limits here! Last year some ambitious peeps started GenYOTT (Ottawa), we’re planning GenYSF (San Fran), Twestival is around the corner (March) and it will be patio partio season in no time.

Send an email to casie @ casiestewart.com if you have something in mind. Here’s some ideas:

1) Sponsor or Donate to an Upcoming Event
2) Host a Contest on casiestewart.com
3) Volunteert to Help Out!
4) Advertise on casiestewart.com

Three cheers for awesomism!

This Peach Berserk dress was made JUST for me for the 2010 MMVA’s.

Have a great day,

coldest day of the year right here. no fear!

hello friends. today in between doing things i have to do i decided to brave the cold and see just how rotten it was.

played around a little. well, la-di-da!

Gif Created on Make A Gif

side note: LOVE this movie

if you go outside remember to wear sun glasses. the winter sun is just as bad for you and nothing burns the retina like snow blind. if you are gonig walking you really should wear sunscreen too. (i know you will like that i am noting this mum, i’m sure you’re rocking the 50 down in the bahamas! miss you)

i’ve made a promise to myself that i am NOT going to get the winter blues. there are waaaaaay to many things to be excited about and look forward to; making summer dresses, working on my summer beach body, writing compelling stories, taking beautiful photos, the way the sun shines on the snow, fresh cool air, staying inside and watching movies, planning events…the list goes on.

warmest most favourite winter boots ever, Moovboot Siberian huskies.

hello city i love so much. oh you, tower!

this is the same spot rannie shot me for his 140 characters project. remember this photo? ahhh, summer… that dress is from united colours of benetton when i was about eight years old. growing is for suckers, haha. RIP those glasses though 🙁

the lake looks nice today, nice and freezing cold, nice and glittery in the sunshine. remember, the cup is half full in ths department. i fired that bitch girl debby downer, restraining order.

i wonder if i will ever get married? if i do i want a hungi and a haka, old cars and vintage. not that i’ve thought about it much but i love style and this photo is really cute.  there are lots of cute photos on my tumblr. i have a fatal attraction to cuteness.

after about 10 minutes in the icy air i started to feel really cold. this is the “i’ve had enough” face. tights are often quite warm but nothing stands up to a chill in the air  like that cold. minus 20 before windchill? wind-kill!

after playing outside for a few i went to sobey’s for groceries. i think there is a grocery boy with a crush on me. i have noticed him direct eye contact smile the last couple days and yesterday he finally said “what’s up”. i see him pretty much every day when i go there. i do not want this to get awkward, for now it’s cute. today in the produce section we crossed paths and almost bumped into each other. i think he has an accent. it made me feel like a teenager and i smiled.

tonight i am making a roast dinner for some friends. mum used to make good food on sunday night’s to start the week with warm tummies and food in the fridge. i really hope it turns out ok. i’m a pretty good cook but i don’t cook that often. i reckon imma make a pavlova soon. i’m pretty good at it. it’s a kiwi thing. mum used to teach people who to make a pav but no one ever seemed to get it just right ubnless they were form NZ too.

Feeling pretty good after yesterday’s session at The Motion Room, pix & deets on that lata. Ok, off to the gym for me, weeee!

P.S. this is prety funny. Thanks Crystal for Tweeting. Fruit Ninja for REAL. If you don’t know Fruit Ninja it’s an app for ipad/iphone that is really fun and awesome.

i don’t speak java but i can if you like

This is true. Remember that one. Rumor has it you can find this written all over the city. Positive grafitti is my fav. Hearts too.

Well, hello there

Hi

I was heading to a research place where I ate this for lunch.  Basically selling little bits of my brain to mordern science. I am so very diverse in my skill set. You have no idea, I got mad skillz.

We followed Starbucker with a visit to the Toy Store. Look what I got, a sheep, baaaaaaa.

She loves it, Hello Kitty.

This is worth a few good laughs.

A couple years back I worked at Hemingways in Yorkville. I knew Martin the owner (a Kiwi) and thought as a New Zealand person they really should hire me. They did. I loved working there so much. It was really fun, the people were awesome and I made good tips. I was there during film fest time which is the best time to be there.

We had a very fun time. Eli was great cause he offered to take our photo but he had no idea what he was getting into. After about 10 photos, he got it.

Raymi played me Bad Romance on the jukebox. Have you heard mama monster’s new jam Sheibe? She says “I don’t speak German but I can if you like”. Hence title of this post, perhaps you made the connection already?

This is the happy face of me talking about New Zealand Mountains with another kiwi.

Annnnnnnnd we’re back. Eye spy Raymi has the camera. Nice new cards BTW. I need new cards now that Virgin America dropped the news yesterday about stopping service to Toronto. I’ll talk about that later. Too frustrated about it right now, must remain calm and not have a freakout. Imagine I did? I imagined but I’m not gonna do that, I promise.

End scene, it was time to say byeeeeeeee. I had another girl date to get to. We’re a cute pair though aren’t we?

Rush home shower, prep and go. I never use those Dyson dryers, I like paper towel but they are pretty rad. I’d love a Dyson vacuum. *cough cough*

My lovely date Sheryl who used to my boss in my first full time job ever. She took me under her wing and taught me heaps. So nice to reconnect. She gave me exciting news that she’s now Social Media Manager for Creative Bag so she’s like, totally Tweeting. Way to go sista!

Her and I had a great dinner at The Drake Hotel. Bunch of apps were just perfecto!

The Drake Hotel is a cool place for a number of reasons, like, Stew works there, it’s often babe central, they have good food and chicken & waffles for brekky. They also rule because I was tweeting about being there I got a DM that THIS was at front desk for me. FOR ME! Being a famous bloger has it’s perks 🙂

Next stop The Gladstone Hotel! Sheryl and I were then part of a project for the Gladestone’s Come Up to My Room art show curated by the lovely Alina Kulesh.

It was in the Art Bar. So neat up there if you have never been you should use this show as an excuse to really snoop around. You will likey. I did, see:

This skirt was to tight at Christmas but fits me now. Working out is awesome!

Then we were part of a photo essay kinda thinger. Love all this photo and camera jazz.

Smile darlin’, looking fab.

Finished the night off at The Thompson Hotel which concludes this lovely Toronto Hotel tour.

Ok that’s it for now. Time for me to find out just how cold it really is out there. Happy Saturday!

the casie stewart show has a nice ring to to it #CSS

It’s so sunny out today I’m reminded of summer. I feel happier today. Bugger this time of year, don’t let it get you down. This is a good time to find inspiration, look for it.

Wearing an outfit Dad & his GF got me for Christmas. The skirt was too tight then but fits now. You know what that means? 1) Awesome 2) Going to the gym and working out makes you skinnier.  I’m am so glad I’m getting my ass in gear. Last year I told myself ‘this year’ and I refuse to let ME down.

Tonight I’m having dinner with my boss from my first full time job ever. It was 2005 and I had moved to Toronto for a job in the fashion industry. I was certain that was what I wanted to be. I love that her and I are having a date tonight. I will always love fashion too. Been talkin’ FW 11 events & parties! Exciting.

Saw this today: “Do not fear to be eccentric in opinion, for every opinion now accepted was one eccentric” I say, don’t fear being eccentric at all.

Have an awesome day ♥

young & restless: open a bottle of wine with a shoe

I’ve gotten used to jokes about how much I love the Young and the Restless. It’s true. I do and you know it. It’s a great show and I will watch it as long as it lasts. This pic is from NZ Fashion Week. Aw, I miss my down under loves.

Anyhooters, every once in a while I learn something from the show, yesterday was one of those days.

Lilly was locked in the wine cellar with the bad Australia guy and they didn’t have a cork screw so he opened the wine, WITH A SHOE. A SHOE!

If y’all know this already and I am late to the game please tell me. I’ve had a boy try with a kitchen knife, a jack knife, a hammer/nail and who knows what else but NEVER EVER HAVE I EVER (remember that game?) seen someone do this with a shoe.

After carefully doing the appropriate research on the worlds largest video site I came up with the following conclusions.

1 ) If this guy can do it so can I.

2) I recommend you try this at home.

Here’s how. I hope you can listen in French, I think it is best explained that way.

Attention everyone, if you try this at a party or picnic, in a dark alley or at a hipster party, you WILL IMPRESS someone. You would for sure impress me. I’m going to impress someone with this right after I go buy a bottle of wine. BTW if you try this and film it, tell me I will so totally post it.

And if you ever see this please buy it for me. Is it an allergy bracelet or a symbol of my one true love?

I am here to give you advice on things that will make you cooler than your other friends who don’t read this blog or my other blog OH CASIE. There’s lots to learn. Imma a teacher of the awesome 😉

up up here we go where we stop nobody knows

jamming to this right now, play it if you got sound or you feel like jammin’ too…

I was laughing in this photo. I had noticed after a couple camera snaps there was a few people looking. I saw someone turn their eyes back to the road and they were smiling. It made me smile. I love taking so many photos, I feel like a tourist every day in this awesome city.

Wore my docs again today. Man, I really forgot how confortable they are. I got them in the summer from the Doc Marten store on Queen Street. They are the Triumph style and She Does the City wrote about them being the awesomest boot ever. Didn’t even know that when I got ’em. WIN!

Today for the first time I noticed a street sign in Union Station for Brookfield Place. It reminded be of this legendary brand new appartment building I lived in at 15 Brickfield Street in Sydney Australia back in 2004.

Well to be honest with you, it was a suberb of Sydney called Paramatta. Spent about 20 min just now Google map-walking around the streets. After Paramatta for a couple months I ditched that place and moved to Bondi Beach. It’s beautiful there…ah, memories.

This made the front of all the city’s papers today I’m sure. When I saw the caption “love you forever” it only reminded me of the book by Robert Munsch and Mum reading it to me. It was my fav growing up. Miss you Mum. Nice chatting on Skype today ♥

I hardly read the Metro. It’s quite a ‘subway’ thing for me. I saw this little ditty with Tweets  about chosing a job you love.  I worked real hard to get here. That’s what it takes.  It’s not easy but I refuse to believe I can’t do it.  I’m always on the hunt for great people to work with and cool projects. Remember that 😉

This is me fake reading. No, that’s not a book, it’s the fancy DODO Case on Andy my darling ipad. Still love it y’know. I hope when his big brother comes out in the Spring I don’t feel less love for him. That’s kinda what happens with Apple stuff eh? The new guy comes around and all of a sudden the other grass looks greener. Such is life I suppose.

Until tomorrow. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! xo

i am fit and beautiful and awesome (repeat)

Positive self affirmatrions. Try it. Manifest the life you want and make it happen. When you are done reading this lovely post looking at the pictures here check THIS out hereswhatyouare.com.

The other day Raymi took me to The Motion Room for a workout. I’ve not been much of a worker outer the past few years, however, last week I had a very different gym experiece. You know what? I really liked it too.

Shirt is from  Me to We in support of Africa, shorts are American Apparel from Bud Camp, socks from AA too. Hipster workout. haha.

It was super rad to have someone show you what to do then push you to do it.

I enjoyed this ladder thinger. I often make things into dance moves. The young ballerina in me will never die/grow up. Did you ever notice ballerina has the work ‘baller’ in it?

Pairs, duet. Good form.

I rocked the pushup plank style going down and back. I did such a good job that instead of going plank all the way he made me do pushups in between. Urgh, remind me NOT to try hard with a trainer. You will only end up hurting more.

Look at my pipes. I’m huge.

Squats too, check them muscles.

I died a little post ladder.

I dont like normal gyms cause I feel self conscious, and insecure because I don’t really know what to do. It might be different if I had a partner.  I often stick to the treadmill cause it’s self explanitory. The workout here was really fun cause we used different equipment and I had a coach. I think that’s what really makes the difference for me, having someone tell you what to do. (Keep the sub/Dom jokes to yourself, haha)

This is what really needs working on, losing a couple lb’s so my stomach is packin’ a 6 and my legs are neat & trim.

I totally forgot how insane it is using a medicine/bosu ball.

There was lots of giggling during said workout. Raymi posted heaps of pix & comments.

I’m stoked to go back. Raymi, when is next workout? This exercise was killer. If any of you peeps out there wanna try out a session at The Motion Room with yourself or me or with me AND Raymi, let me know. I guarantee you will have fun and work up a sweat.

If you are shy (don’t be!) you can ring them yourself at 647-351-8671 or Tweet @themotionroom.

In other news, I passed 5,000 followers on Twitter yesterday and joined my first prosessional assiciation SOCAP: Society of Consumer Affairs Professionals in Business. Look out world here I come!! Ready to take this rabbit year by the horns.

Ok bye, off to the gym I go!

black clothes, black boots, cold air, warm heart

Lookin’ rather tall & skinny here eh? Tall, deff not but I have been going to the gym at a regular pace. Look out summer, imma kill you this year.

Yesterday I wrote this post and poured my heart out about the funeral but then I lost it. I mean, I lost the post not my mind.

I attended a very public funeral yesterday afternoon, the largest Tornoto has ever had.

It was for Sgt. Ryal Russel who was killed last week in the line of duty.

These guys faces, there’s so much happening in this photo.

The last time I saw so many police it was the G20. I will never forget that experience. Remember when I dressed like a riot girl and went right into the madness? This was the most embarassing (or hilarious) G20 moment:

I love the way the police/ambo/fire look together in their uniforms, all standing in a row. Luckily this time there were bag pipes playing and no riot gear. Despite it being a funeral, the air felt warm and people seemed pleasant. It was clearly a reflection of how great Saregant Ryan Russell Was. I  learned quite a bit about him in the last few days and he seems like an all around stand up guy. CP24 even said he “looked good in uniform”.

There were so many Tweets about Ryan Russell. I wonder how he feels about the mass of people, road closures and media coverage of the event. I notived a bit of controversy about that. It HAS been almost a decade since our city lost an office in the line of duty.

Who am I to say what is appropriate for this kinda thing? There were over 14,000 uniformed people walking the streets. It was quite a sight to see.

Is there a special reason the America flag was leading the pack here?

This is my fav shot. Love seeing the boots sitting there empty.

My friend Joel Reilly made this lovely video tribute to Sgt. Ryan Russell.

yesterday on twitter, this happened:

GET OFF THE COUCH!

Yes, hi, imma talkin’ to YOU.

It’s winter, deal with it. Don’t feel grumpy. There’s nothing that will make you feel happier than seeing your friends and making new ones. Lucky for you, I’m quite the social butterfly and I’d love you to come hang out with me.

Here’s a couple resons for you to brush your hair and leave the house:

there’s no blue monday in this department sir

the only blue is the sky above cause we’re covered in sunshine here

and here

Who leaves those big footprints? I wish I could walk on water. I should go to the island soon.

I was thinking I missed the beach and the sunshine so I went to the urban beach, sat in a muskoka chair and felt the sun on my face. I kicked around some snow, found the sand below and even only if for a minute, I was reminded of summer.

Did you know there’s actually a formula for ‘why’ today is the ‘ most depressing day of the year‘. Crazy talk. I always thought it was some time in February but maybe that’s high suicide day or something. According to a press release by a mental health charity, the formula is:

\frac{[W + D-d] T^Q}{M N_a}

where weather=W, debt=d, time since Christmas=T, time since failing our new year’s resolutions=Q, low motivational levels=M and the feeling of a need to take action=Na. ‘D’ is not defined in the release, nor are units.

DON’T LET THE WINTER GET YOU DOWN EH!

Have fun with it.

Go exploring

But dress warm. Nobody likes a whiner.

You never know what you might find.  Hopefully it’s beauty in something 🙂

Hey, Red row boat your cuzzy Red Canoe is my neighbour. You look chilly sitting there.

Read this nice article in the Toronto Star that is part of an essay called Lessons Travel Has Taught Me by Arthur Frommer. Thought it was worth sharing with you. It was a nice read, these are the main things travel has taught him:

We are all alike.
We are responsible for one another.
There is no single solution for human problems.
All people should be “minorities”.
Travel keeps us young.
Travel teaches us humility, the best human trait.

In other news, Marilyn was hanging out with The Mustache this morning. Omg so jealous! He was charming. He also leaked that he ‘might’ get back with Nikki. They are good together really. He said the cast isn’t really friends either because they change so often. There’s been heaps of people pass through there in his long career (and my loooooong time watching) of the Y&R. Oh gawd I love him.

Hope you are enjoying the day. This song always cheers me up. Been falling back in love with Devendra lately. I had a huge one for him a couple years back. His songs are so free spirited and pleasant to listen to. I love that he’s such a hippy, obviously.

take me to rainbow house, let me wear your glasses

i love this

Starring real life couple Devendra Banhart and Rebecca Schwartz, the premise of the Oliver Peoples 2011 campaign is an exploration of authentic intimacy and sexuality. The love affair is explored in the one-of-a-kind masterpiece by architect John Lautner: Rainbow House. The contemporary California setting proved to be a perfect atmosphere to showcase the natural chemistry of the young, intriguing couple.

You can hardly see the island, the snow has frosted over my entire view. Even if I had a car, I wouldn’t use it today. There’s lots of sirens I hear out there and it appears the cars are moving slower than usual. I have two perfectly good feet who enjoy waking but I doubt they grace a snowy sidewalk before sunset, if at all. I’d like a coffee, but the kitchen seems so far away from my bed. I plan to spend the day here in hopes of kicking these sick and tired feelings. I can’t operate like this, I can’t operate on slow speed. Mum rung me this morning from Bahamas, its like she knew I was missing her. I miss warm and sunshine too. Always the best advice she has “you need rest”.  She’s right. Thanks Mum ♥

there isn’t anything wrong with a vivid imagination

Tried on this Liza wig at Raymi’s while she was gettin’ ready. Watcha think?

We arrive at The Motion Room about 10ish, I think to myself, what the hell have I gotten myself into here. I’m not much of a worker-outer so I wasn’t sure 1) if I was gonne be any good 2) if I would be into it.

However, after my computer crashing last night I figured it would be a good release of the stress I was building up. I had to convince myself that this was a great idea for a chilly Friday morning. This is my let’s go face, haha.

Stopped by Cherry Bomb for hipster coffee and who did we see? GINGER JESUS. OMG.

But seriously, look. I tried to get a better picture but I was clearly spotted by one of the girls who then proceeded to tell the others what I was doing by making camera taking hang gestures. Clearly I would be a bad papparazzi.

The rest of the day will be spent here doing work and admiring how bright the sun shines into my condo and how pretty the water looks right now. The thin layer of ice on the looks so neat, borderline artistic.

Tell you all about my workout later after I take care of some biz, Happy Friday 🙂

when you smile the whole world stops and stares

Sabrina was in NY for a couple days and she brought me back this little special robot guy. So perfect for me. There’s a heart in the other side of the diamonds. Expect to see it in regular rotation. Thanks Beans!

I told Sabrina I want to walk to the island when the lake freezes over. She told me that won’t happen and I’m not allowed to anyways. Thanks MOM.

I snapped this guy and I’m not even sure what to say about his style and hair. I found it intersting.

Fashion district has a pretty mesuring tape on the sidewalk.

Had lunch with a friend at Le Gourmand today. I don’t usually share my food but my sandwich was totally delish delish. Chicken curry, yum.

Thank goodness for FB, a package was delivered to my old work at CTV and a friend in shipping sent me a wee note.

I’m yet to go to the Tim Burton exhibit. Would anyone like to take me? I’m a good date.

what’s in the box you ask?

One of my darling friends Monika saw I was not feeling better and sent me a whole pack of vitamins from Swiss. A tiny gesture that really brightened my day. Thanks MONIKA!

Heading to Blake McGrath’s video shoot uptown right now with my sister. So running behind. Sorry sister. Listening to this to get me up and moving.

ROBOT SAYS: STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER.

Tomorrow I am going to The Motion Room with Raymi. We’re gonna do challenges and see who’s stronger. She’s got a head start and bigger nuscles I reckon but imma try and make you proud.

Ok bye. My sister is gon’ kill me!!!!

sometimes i don’t feel like it #2

That’s just it. Sometimes I don’t fee like blogging or tweeting or sharing anything with you or anyone. I’m human, as much as try not to be, I am. But then, how do I deal with those feelings? I write about it, here. Can you believe I considered starting a paper/pen jounal about my feelings. this morning. Uhh, hellooooo?

To be honest with you, every once in a while I feel completely overwhelmed by the internet. It’s partly because I’m doing what I really love doing and I created it this way and now I have to deal with all the stuff that comes with it. It get’s heavy sometimes. This week I got a couple really nice emails from people I’ve never met thanking me for what I do. Those really make me feel awesome.  Do you like reading that stuff?

Sometimes I feel like quitting and doing a regular jobby workin’ 9-5’er. I have that feeling for about five minutes until I realise I couldn’t really get away with this outfit and creative tears start burning my face.

In other news, I’m working on some really fun stuff that I can’t wait to share with you. Thank you for listening and reading and visiting. Please don’t be shy to comment, I like it. You can also email me if you are comment shy.

Have an awesome day, whatever it is you’re up to!

this inspires me -> the moment of reckless abandon

“The moment of reckless abandon where you lean back & laugh at the simplicity & absurdity of everything… the momemnt when you so fully realize, it doesn’t get any better than this right now.”

My friend Amanda had just come back from Australia and she wrote this down on a tiny piece of  envelope for me many years ago. She said it basically summed up her entire  time there.

I’ve still got that piece of paper kicking around somewhere,  it’s a great reminder to take a step back and think about all the greatness in your life and be thankful for it. I dream about going back to Australia. One day…

I’m climbing out of my cold coma and feeling a bit better today.  Let’s hope I’m on the mend ♥. I really hate being sicky 🙁

when you have a cold, nothing is fun thank you very much.

Oh man. Trying hard to figh this damn bugger of a cold I’ve got. I reckon the meds are gettin’ me cause I feel kinda shakey like I drank too much coffee but didn’t.

Please make it go away. I do not like operating on low speed. You know me, I move fast and like to get things done. This is driving me b.a.n.a.n.a.s.

For the sick but social…fml.

wahhh.

these asian dudes were dancing in the hot tub and listening to music. i went there to relax and have a break from work and feel better. i had the whole big heated bubble hot tub to myself then one came over and started talking to me. he was nice and i am usually quite chatty but was not having it this time. all i wanted was some piece and quiet. alone time.

it is very lovely in my hot tub lounge. the view is spectacular and it’s usually quite relaxing. i like to go there when it’s really cold out and stare out the window with the sun on my face while i heat up in the tub. it’s like a mini vacation without leaving the house.

decided to take a dip in the hot tub, thought it might make me feel better. rode the elevator with some painters. they were talking fast in some european language mixed with english.

email subject: thanks for being inspirational

I received this email over the weekend:

Hey Casie,
I have no idea what searchwords let me stumble onto your page and blog …. but I wanted to send you a quick “thank you” for sharing your life. I found your page by pure chance, but once I started reading a bit, your positive outlook on life got me hooked. I find that highly inspirational!

Maybe one day (if you ever travel the not so exotic Europe – or even boring Germany) – we’ll meet and I can thank you in person.

Take care and keep that positive vibe.

It’s little things like this email that really make me proud of what I do, what I’m doing. I’ve worked hard to get here and will continue working hard to make all my dreams come true.  This one time last year I got an email from international best selling author Neil Pasricha of “The Book of Awesome” and he thanked me for having “the largest collection of awesome related photos on the internet”. To me, this means I’m doing what I set out to do.

There’s so much negativity in the world around us and by blogging each and every single day, I hope to make the world a happier place. It also helps me see joy in little things and appreciate all I have. It also helps me remember. Hope you’re doing something today that brings you closer to your dreams, and if you’re not, there’s still time to change that.

as you can see my photos are blue tinty and blurry. i like it like that ok. borderline artistic.

ice rink, CN tower, snow = oh so canadian.

ice cold.

we were dancing to chromeo in the snow to keep warm (oh so hipster), stomping the snowy path making it easier to walk on. that’s why we called it a public service… this is the announcement. happy weekend 🙂
