You’re the next living leader of the world.

Inspired. I’m so into the narrative of this video. I’d love to write for something like this. I saw the Levi’s FW 2012 preview about a month ago at Burroughs, it was creative. Not your average fashion show. I want  that button down dress the babe with the fro has. I like that the campaign is GO FORTH.  Ford conference I was at last month and the new Ford campaign is GO FURTHER. Banff World Media had me repeating ‘innovate or die‘.  Notice a pattern here. Technology & innovation are changing everything, you can do anything now. ANYTHING. SHIFT IS HAPPENING. “You’re a queen, you’re a king, you’re the solo act in a sold out show at a six story stadium, and you’re proud, you’re a hero! You got a hero’s grip. Swingin’ by a single stitch. You follow your heart, follow the leader, you’re the leader.” Beatles Banditos just arrived in an email from Mr. Brainwash.

Don’t Get Mad, Get Rad!

Hola! Hope you are enjoying the weekend. Jenie stayed over after an awesome night at a few SummerWorks events. I was up early to meet the team from Coral TV for brekky. Was the first time all the hosts on the channel have met up with the team. First of many! We’ll be doing cameo’s on each others show before you know it. This week Sara Lynn and I had promoted vids on YouTube and both are over 4,000 views. Crazy awesome! Lucy, Candice, Me, Julie, Sarah Lynn Photo by Julie Stopped by Eaton Centre & the 3F store on the way home. Saw ‘Don’t Get Mad, Get Rad on a shirt, like it. Was so lovely to walk in the rain, the sun was almost peeking out. La Senza sent me over a lingerie set from the new ‘Show Off’ Collection and I exchanged it for sizes today. The entire collection is incredibly BRIGHT. I picked this fun set. Va va voom! Feelin’ the love La Senza, thank you! Lots of sales at 3F right now before new Fall/Winter stuff comes in. I got a denim jacket in coral and didn’t even realize it was called ‘coral’ until I got home. The annual Perseid Meteor shower is tonight. Science is AWESOME. It’s going to be magical. Hope you have someone special to share it with. MIght take a drive into the country when it peaks around 1am. Lauren did a great post on CBC with all kinds of details of what to look for and where. WE ARE ALL MADE OF STARS!  OLYMPICS FTW! Official outfit. Blogging is a SPORT!

Bot & Sold on Twitter (RE: Article from @FastCompany)

A couple of times over the last few years a photo of me has been used as a Twitter bot. I didn’t think much of it. I figured there was nothing I can do other than report for spam.  To be honest, my first thought was “you’ve made it” then it happened over a handful of times and it was kinda unsettling. Have I been targeted? What is going on here and why does this keep happening? Yesterday, Keri sent me this article from FastCompany  “Who’s That Woman In The Twitter Bot Profile? by Jason Feifer. I got a couple Tweets about it too. @casiestewart remember how there was a twitter bot of your Sunshine girl pic? Seems like you weren’t the only one! bit.ly/P2cemr — Breanna Hughes (@unbrelievable) August 9, 2012 They’re sometimes called “bimbots”–the army of Twitter bots with pretty profile pictures. Who are the women pictured in those photos? This is the story of the quest to find out.” Omg, it’s a thing. I read on… “After dozens of searches, a pattern emerged: Most bot photos had a long digital tail, having been posted on dozens of sketchy porn sites or blogs devoted to the barely legal. Occasionally, I’d be able to track a photo back to what seemed like an original source–like when a bot’s photo showed up alongside many others of the same woman, all posted to the fratboy site Barstool Sports. The site claimed her name is Aurora. But when I reached out, as was always the case, nobody cared to explain where the photos came from. …I tracked two bots back to the 2009 SUNshine Girls calendar, a lingerie showcase produced by the Toronto Sun. (I guess newspapers have to make money somehow.) The calendar only offered the models’ first names, and the paper’s photo…

I found some gold at the end of the rainbow, I’m giving it all to you.

Found this cool portrait project from NY called Humans of New York while I was creeping Catherine’s Twitter. Photos are all done by Brandon Stanton. He also writes stories. I love stories. Rediscovered this cool web app that shows you Google maps in  interactive polar panorama images. Queen Street West, Toronto – Trinity Bellwoods Nasty Gal Accessories page girl. I might be obsessed with NG. I found these cool painted records on their blog yesterday.  In Other News:  As long as the world does not end in 2012, I will be online for the next ten years. AT LEAST!  I renewed my domain for a decade. I will be 40. Holy shiiiiiiiiite mang. I’m working on a new site design & blog this month. I can’t wait to share it with the world. Thank you for reading, commenting (why u no comment?), and following along my adventures. I’ll be celebrating eight years of blogging in April 2013 and I think it’s time for a party. And the world heaves a collective sigh of relief. 😉 RT @casiestewart: I have renewed by domain till 2021. WORLD, I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE! — Christine Estima (@christineestima) August 8, 2012 I am a little in love with these screen shots from the video shoot w/ Carty this weekend. You watched it ya?

Today’s Special: @Pinterest, @NastyGal, @SummerWorks, @DigitalJournal

These are some of my Pins from this week. Pinterest has become part of my daily routine. I love style so much and I’ve been pinning everything I want from Nasty Gal. I want everything. It’s torture. Their ads stalk me on many every single website and their email makes me drool. They’re hip on social and have a beauty of a blog with new lookbooks all the time.   Today Catherine posted an interview with Michael Rubenfeld, Artistic Producer of the SummerWorks theatre festival. Her and I chatted at the VIP Soiree last month and she included me in her article (see below). August 7, 2012: Digital Journal – Toronto blogger Casie Stewart (L) chats with journalist Catherine Kustanczy before the SummerWorks Soiree in early July. Stewart, who worked as the community manager for MuchMTV Group at Canadian broadcaster CTV and received mentions in the Wall Street Journal and Mashable (among others), is in charge of the festival’s blog this year. Read more. July 9 2012 – Casie Stewart (left) and Catherine Kustanczy at the SummerWorks Summer Soirée held at the Great Hall in Toronto. Photo by Della Rollins for the Globe and Mail The second photo was taken for the Globe & Mail but not published. (I don’t think??) My most recent post on the SummerWorks blog is about Hawksley Workman and one of his songs I love. He’s performing as part of the festival on Saturday. Off to Thompson Hotel roof for fashion soiree. Have a great day/night/morning wherever you are!

Lifestyle Blogger: Video by Steve Carty

I shot with Carty about two weeks ago for the first time. Last week an opportunity came up where I needed a short intro about me on camera. After seeing a bunch of Carty’s video, I knew he was the perfect one to hire for this project. This app is called DSLR Slate  ($9.99). I’m not experienced enough in film producing to get this app yet but it’s cool. It makes sounds. I shot, edited and delivered this video yesterday.youtu.be/UsHXz-RaF24?a Casie Stewart Lifestyle Blogger @casiestewart shot on the 7D. — Steve Carty (@stevecarty) August 7, 2012 Photo by Carty, edited in Camera+, collaged by Diptic Happy MondayTuesday!
