for the world you walk on love what you wear

This is my life now. I wake up and roll over to greet my love, Andy. I reckon it’s only a matter of time before I switch teams, no not like that, I mean to a mac and and iphone. I feel it’s the natural progression of my technology life. One day I’ll say “PC, i’m just not that into you, anymore”. It’s brrrrr outside today and I don’t mind a bit. The sun is shining SO bright in my condo I have to put the blinds down just to see the monitors and tv. (First world problems!) Couple reasons I don’t really care if it gets cold are LA, Dallas, SF, and San Juan. I know, it’s sad when you read it if you are not going away but you know what? I have worked my booty off since I started college in 2001 and never have I ever had this much travel planned and I’ve also never been to most the places I’m going. I am beyond excited. AAAAAAAAAAAH! Luckily, while I’m home I’ll be keeping warm cause Matchstick sent me a couple pairs of Cougar Boots last month. It’s not really been cold enough to take ’em for a walk yet but I reckon the Santa parade this weekend is the perfect event to bust out these babies. The second pair I got were red & rubber and I gave them to fellow blonde blogging babe Keri! Check her post out. Blondetourage blogtourage! If anyone finds a pair of these old school Cougar Boots in a size 5.5 or 6 please pick them up for me. You know my love of vintage and I’d totes like to rock the old schoolies. i need some time for myself sometimes and sometimes i need some time with you

Woke up and went for a dip in the hot tub. It was so sunny and bright, a great way to start the day. Newest Moovboots. My fav ones for sure. Siberian Huskies. Warm and cozy. Read some news on Mashable. Love iPad Andy so much. We watch movies in bed, sleep together. Great view from the sunroom. When I wanna relax/space out I listen to this song. I find it most enjoyable on the TTC. I zone out and feel I am floating like a feather, daydreaming about peoples thoughts and where they are going, where they came from. Where I am going? What am I doing? Putting together a relaxing playlist on itunes, I need one. I’m going to Ostara Spa on King Street for a long relaxing massage. I am stoked . It’s been ages since I’ve had a great massage and I’ve been working my ass off lately. It’s my first time going there too. Next week is busy busy. Doing a talk about Social Media & Personal Branding at The National Ballet of Canada on Monday, Tuesday I am doing Rogers Daytime TV, Thursday is the Movember Gala and I’m a judge. I can’t wait. The week after that I am in LA, SF and Dallas and I finally get to meet Richard Branson. THIS IS MY LIFE. I have to keep telling myself. I love it and I love sharing it here with you. oh man it’s freakin’ windy out there eh?

This video is old, of my fav’s. I used to be a member at the AGO. I went all the time. It was a lovely place to spend time by myself, inspiring, energizing and often gave me creative ideas to do sill things like this. Ha. I make myself laugh, that’s a pretty good skill if you ask me. Mohahaaaa. It’s Casie and I’m at the AGO and it is sooo windy here today. I don’t know if you’ve been to the AGO before but I really suggest you check it out. They’ve got a lot of great stuff happening here, lot of artists, really interesting things for you to check out. So go to the AGO because it’s really neat.

i am going to a ballet tomorrow night.

I used to do ballet. For ten years. Sometime I hated it but I always loved it. This is me last week after Raymi’s party. Dress if from this store. Look ma’ still got it. Kinda. Not top form, by any means. I was three years old when I started dance and stopped when I was 13. I did ballet, tap and jazz. I competed in NY and SC as well as across Ontario. Sometimes I was taken out of school for competitions and I wore blue eye shadow and red lipstick. I need to find our photos. I reckon they’re all at Mum’s. We have a FB group for our old studio Meyerhopher in Cambridge. Great studio and people there. It says this on the FB group: If it doesn’t kill you, it will only make you stronger. Or you will really feel it the next day. I am going to see “Robert Lepage’s “Eonnagata” starring Sylvie Guillem with my friend who is a wonderful photographer. There is dancing and beautiful music and famed French ballerina Sylphie Guellieium. This is her, such beauty. Looking quite forward to it. Midway between theatre and dance, Eonnagata pits the fan against the sword, the courtesan against the swordsman. But it also explores the embodying of one sex by the other in what is more an investigation of gender than of sexuality. The work draws on Onnagata, a Kabuki theatre technique that enables actors to represent women in a highly stylized fashion, shedding new light on the Chevalier d’Éon and revealing that his enigma is perhaps the mystery of human identity itself.

the forces of gravity were strong today

Kept me down. Ice pack and heat pack on shoulder arthritis pain. Couple friends over last night. Dinner with Dad, his GF and my sis earlier in the night. He is so funny, Dad. Watched Swimming Pool a forgein thriller on Netflix today. Pretty sexy, saw it years ago. Made me wanna write another book. It’s been long enough, I’m a grown up now. So many stories and photos from the years pased. Ate so many M&Ms this weekend. Have a nice giftpack prize for someone this week. Gonna be upgrading your Monday tomorrow with Virgin America too, tell you about it in the morning. Closer is a really great movie, seen it a bunch of times and watched it on Netflix today too. I love this movie for so many reasons, Natalie Portman, Jude Law and Clive Owen to start. My iPad has opened me up to enjoying the internet more than always blogging or tweeting. It’s helped me relax a bit, if you can believe it. Really looking forward to my vacation in San Juan next month with my Boston friends. Beach, sun, sand, friends, fun, tan, love it. I never really take a day off because I love what I do. Will be so damn lovely to full on relax. Really hope arthritis arm stops hurting by the AM. Lots of work to do and its all on computer, typing. I love Movember. So many MO’s around this fine city. What is it I love so much about it? I like a man who can grow a nice one and the donating to charity. The fun of a whole mass of people doing good is pretty darn great too. I’ve got a video in the works showing off my MO gear. The Annual Movember Toronto Gala is Movember 25th at the Guvernment. See event deets on FB here. Judging starts at 10pm so bring your best MO cause I’m a judge again this year. Here’s a pic I took in last night’s fog. It was so crazy. Blogging is a weird and interesting thing, so is life.

Piano typing my thoughts to the music. Things are so clear in my head. I love writing. I just downloaded a piano app for ipad. I don’t get why people are mean sometimes. I guess I should get it because it’s been a regular occurance where girls try to knock you down when you’re excited about something and feeling happy. What is the point in doing that? Seriously? You only make yourself look stupid and put out bad energy. It’s annoying. Being nice will get you further. So will being friends with girls who are doing well instead of trying to knock them down. Ya hear what I’m sayin? Sheesh! I need some new music. What are you listening to? What should I be listening to?

today was a full on day. scooted out to a meeting about a new project. had lunch at this cute place called Bld on Toronto Street. like it there. oh hai, lemme take this call while i take my own photo aka work. walked by and say this guy remmebering. made me sad. i paused and thought about all the soldiers who have fought for our freedom and made the ultimate sacrifice, their lives. i thought about grandad and grandpa and my family and mum and all the things that i’m grateful for. so many things. thank you for being part of my life. this is nana and grandad and mum and my aunt & uncles. i bet grandad never thought he would be on the internet! amazing eh grandad?! love and miss you. ok onto the next stop… popped into fashionably yours where i was most fabulously styled by jay strut for raymi’s 10 year anniversary party tonight at wrongbar. so many great finds in there. it’s located at 632 queen street west west of bathurst. go there say HI to JANET and JAY for me when you do. they are lovely and nice. oh what to wear? i tried on some seriously lovely dresses. it came down to the fuchsia betsy johnson or the little sequin french connection number. i look like a huge dork…i am. get used to it. i want to walk in your shoes, yes yes i do. one day i will have a boyfriend who can wear these shoes with style and look hot. and the winner is…SEQUINS. kinda knew it, i love sequins so. probably all the years i spent wearing them as a young ballerina from the age of three for ten years that did it. ok time to get ready for…

photo diary: wendesday november tenth twenty ten

where i got my ipad. an empty space lined with caution tape now, only a memory. hung out at starbucks, i read apps and downloaded information to my brain. smart. oh, to be that sweet breeze that brushes by and makes you feel warm then smile. do you men know about this store? if i was a man i would check it out. i will, they blog. i am addicted to where’s waldo like a child. i will find you all, wizard, scroll, wenda. afternoon stopover in this little spot. the 420 so well hidden from daytime traffic. i find this type of construction a joy to watch. all the little men like lego, building. is this what my building looks like under ground? fascinating really, isn’t it? so many beautiful buildings in our city. sometimes the sun hits them just right. benches for tomorrow. i don’t have a poppy. war isn’t the same now as when grandad went. the leaves are so very beautiful in the sun this time of year, look at their beauty. these ones were so dull, their colour had been lost and the wind blew them all away. dear this time of year, i love you. stay for a while, will you please? xo casie popped into the most colourful store in the city, peach berserk for some sunshine. arrived home and got this travel pack in the mail. thank you to the team at @constantbody. that is my day in photos. i will stay home for the rest of the day now 🙂

the value of believing in yourself

I had this favourite book when I was little, actually, I still have it at Mum’s there’s no way she would get rid of our old books. It retells the story of Louis Pasteur, whose unwavering belief in the concept of germs led to a cure for rabies. I loved it, I’m sure I read it over a hundred times. I woke up today thinking about it and decided it’s time, I need to do a couple things I’ve been putting off: renew licence renew health card sign up for flirty girl fitness classes (have a week pass) call my trainer and get our sessions in order It’s just after 8am (damn you internet almost 9’er NOW!) and I’m heading to get all this done this morning. I can do it. What are you doing today? Yesterday I had another date with my boyfriend Raymi. Have you noticed how I call everything my boyfriend? It helps to fill the void of not having one. I love my gadgets and my friends and they make me happy. One day I will find a nice charming tall man who loves to do nice things for me and is smart and good looking. (Bats eyelashes through the internet, hi!). Maybe when I am in Dallas, Boston, San Juan, or LA next month I will find one. Just kidding, working/friends/sister time. VIRGIN AMERICA: we’re all winners here

Yesterday I gave away a flight on Virgin America at Finch Station. I let out a few clues via Twitter/Blog and in order to be eligible you had to meet me there with an I LOVE VIRGIN AMERICA sign. I rode the subway playing Angry Birds drinking Vitamin Water hoping like crazy that people were ready to meet me. Imagine if NO ONE was there? Oh man, I’d be mortified. Well, there were a bunch of people and they all had signs! Christine was the first one to spot me on the subway car and I heard her yell “she’s here” which was followed by her running beside the car to the door where I was about to exit. Imagine my surprise when I saw all these beautiful faces! (BTW don’t judge me for the crap photos, returning my camera today as the flash seems to have died. I am a camera killer.) Analog: Digital: In order to make sure the winner was TOTALLY random I was blindfolded with my pashmina and stood in the middle of the group whilst spinning around then stopped and pointed. Not the most advanced method but deff the most tried, trusted and true. The winner was Rochelle Latinsky. Congrats! After the big win some peeps had to go back to work and I took Phil & Tyler to Boston Pizza for a little lunch date. Big thanks to my new bestie Calvin at the Yonge Sheppard Boston Pizza for treating us all. it’s the little things that count i tell ya my deary

Woke up to to a super sunny view of the island, tweeted it and rolled out of bed. Been waking up pretty tired lately, probably from staying up late w/ Andy playing Angry Birds. God I love hate that stupid game. I’ve been using my PC less now that I have ipad. Haven’t blogged from there yet, WordPress app seems to be not functioning properly. I can officially say I’ve been mac’d and it’s only a matter of time before I switch to iphone. We all knew it would happen one day… Listening to Diamond Rings – Special Affections, liking it. Got this lovely email just now: Hey Casie, I love love your blog (appreciate how positive you are in a world of blogs of people complaining) and would love to send you an organic skincare treat that I think would be perfect given your new(ish) post as Provocateur. What’s your mailing address? Thanks!! Those little things make me so happy, getting natural skincare stuff is great but the fact that someone took the time to point out my positvity and thank me for that is totally lovely. Being positive is contageous and so is smiling, so do it, live it and feel it. Your life will be better.
