hello LALA LAND, i’m comin’ w/ my @nellabellabrand!

Was frantic yesterday running around looking for something to wear in Dallas that is ‘Western inspired’. Have no fear, the tickle trunk I like to call my closet room is chalk full of theatricical outfits. Jeans hanging up there are my Shop Girls Yoga Yeans, only jeans I’ve worn since I got them. Really comfy and slimming, this all coming from someone who does not like wearing pants so, I mean serious. Keri also came through with a rodeo shirt that will be perfect. I knew exactly what I was looking for and it was surely not this. Well, in some variation but not together… Before shopping I stopped by to see the lovely Tarek at Nella Bella and look what I got… BTW took the nose ring hoop out (Mum :)) so Dallas and customs don’t think I’m a punk. Shaved head/mohawk style looks kinda punky but the blonde hair is distracting, so… I try to take the safest route and go for cuteness when I visit to the airport. I feel like thatis somehting @barbiestyle (aka Barbie) would say. Haha. I wonder if I will see that one customs guy again? Whoa, tangent. Back to this this lovely HUGE bag, he said I needed this colour for LA. SO true. Thank you! I picked up a couple others that will come out during my travels. One is the famed Nella Bella London bag in red. The small part holds my passport and essentials and the big part fits my iPad (Andy) and netbook (Robert) in it perfectly. The big yellow guy is so handsome. If you ever wonder the white rabbit furry guy is from Ruby Boutique in New Zealand. Ok, flight time. Catch ya on the flip side AKA, in the air on Virgin America!

ho ho holy cow! here come the holidays!

Can you believe it’s almost December?! Time sure flies, eh? I’m getting ready for a month of travel (hello sunshine!), gift giving (to you from here) and looking back at all the great things I’ve done this year. My friends at Notable TV have put together a list of things to make your holiday shopping easier. Here’s a few of my fav’s. Marc Jacobs – Bang & LOLA. The ads for these are so very pretty. Have you smelled them? Nice. Booze is always a good idea, especially if you are going to a party (or coming to my house), they recommend Jose Cuervo Silver. Saturday night Brown Barbie and The Blondetourage hit up the Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange India party at the Munition Factory. It was fun. Thanks Smirnoff! Doesn’t this look like a bunch of fun? Super cute, Keri & Raymi. Say wha? 5 rupees? No way. More blondes! Blonde Jovi! There was heaps of food and a market with all kinds of things I reckon you’d find in India. Man I love a good theme party. Christine, April, Carly. Babes. Dance party! Lauren’s BF Sean is the best. Great sport takin’ heaps of photos of us, THANK YOU! OH “you don’t wanna party in a sari” #smirnoffXchange

OH is ‘overheard on Twitter if you don’t know by now @itsbrownbarbie is my charming and oh so stylish roommate Sabrina. #smirnoffXchange is the hashtag for tonight Tonight’s Smirnoff party is a ‘Nightlife Exchange’ with India. I wrote about it in the ‘hey, wanna go to a party?‘ ticket giveaway post about a week ago. We were chatting about what to wear and if we should India theme our outfits and Brown Barbie said “you don’t wanna party in a sari”. She looks so cute dressed like this, much different than her usual Barbie style. There’s a couple reasons, the fancy material she has on below is highly flammable and all that fabric could cause a party foul and easily get ruined. Just think, heaps of fabric, high heels, copious amounts of alcohol, sounds like trouble to me. I’m wearing a vintage kaftan that was Mum’s from the 1970’s. She shortened it back then and I’ve tailored it a little to fit me just perfect. Love wearing Mum’s old stuff cause when I blog it she pops in to check and is happily surprised. The place we are going is called Munition Factory and the Smirnoff crew started setting up early this week. Pretty stoked to show you photos of it all tomorrow. Last night was a blast. I can’t believe how many good looking MO bro’s we have in our city. Ok let’s do this. Did you know that Canada raises the most Movember money? WE ARE THE BEST. Harry & Lloyd, also a classic. Did they even have Mo’s in the movie? Fun fact: My Dad’s name is Lloyd Give me your jackets. a love note

Sometimes I feel like I need a break, from you, Internet. It’s not you it’s me. I get overwhelmed by just how intense our replationship is. We’re always together. We know what each other are up to, where I am, who I’m with, where I’m going and everything I’ve got planned. You know all my thoughts left in drafts and all the things I didn’t say. The next week is full of work so it’s not the time to make any changes in our relationship just yet. The week after that I’m going to San Juan for a week and I want to take a break. I hope you won’t be upset with me. I’m gonna take that week to reflect on all the things we’ve done this year. There is so many. I was just thinking about how each day of our lives together has been documented and I want to cherish that. Do you ever go back and look? After our ‘break’ we’ll have missed eachother so much that we can get started fresh again and take on the new year. Love, I’m taking you to LA for a week over New Years and we’ll be spending lots of time together there. I can’t wait to show you where we are staying. You will love it. december beach body countdown has started.

There will be abs. I know I’m small but I am not really that fit. I wanna go away on my vacations next month and feel good. I wanna look at photos and think ‘you look great’ not, ‘detele that one, you look gross’. It happens all the time. Don’t judge me. Ok, think what you want. I tried on my skinny jeans (which by the way are a very unhealthy size) and said if I fit these I have a body image disorder. They don’t fit. When I lived in Australia I came home so skinny, remember Nicole Richie running on the beach, yeah that was me. So gross. I’m getting in shape this time. Ate healthy yesterday and have has breakfast two days in a row. It takes dedication and a bunch of little steps to get results here! I started this blog to keep more memories it used to say “people. places. things. thoughts: in attempt to keep more memories“. If I write things down I’m more likley to make it a reality so that’s what I do. On that note, heading for a brisk walk to Yonge & Dundas Square to catch some pix of the Santa Parade (largest in the world) and ride a mustache (not a real one a skateboard one for Movember!). After that I’ve got a 90 min massage at Ostara Spa. Looking quite forward to everything today! I’m ready for the holidays. Gimme a candy cane.

It’s a real place, although it sounds imaginary. It’s an entertainment company in New Zealand. I reckon one of my best Kiwi mates is in their commericals at the momment. Kms can you confirm? Venus have you seen my friend? I’ve been quite missing NZ since I went back. Now that I’m grown up and I went, I got a taste and I’m hungry for more. Just found out my best cuz is having a BABY. Yes Mum/Dad/Gay, Matthew! Him and I are the closest, four days apart. He came to visit me in Australia at Uni, crazy mofo, like me but a handsome young man. I really want a hungi. Do you know what that is? it’s a traditional Marori way of cooking food in the ground. Best meal ever. If I have a wedding ever there willbe a hungi and Dad will do the haka with my uncles. He, whoever he is, will be scared. Our sky was very pretty yesterday. Drove all over the city. So pretty the sky on a sunny day. Do you take a minute to look up? Can you see the Tower? It’s hiding. Went to a friends new photography studio. If you want/need space with all the equipment. Ask me, I hook you up. You can take my photo too if you like. Love picture taking. Imma play with some of the gear over the winter and see what I can cook up for you, internet. That was yesterday. Those skintone lacey tights are from Winners. nice little saturday

Woke up feeling real creative and walked straight over to Zoey. It was sewing time. I fixed up a couple things that needed fixing, hemmed a dress and made some alterations to an old jem of Mum’s for the Smirnoff India party next weekend. Got some healthy groceries and supplies for detox week. I wanna slim down over the next two weeks before I’m on the beach in San Juan and LA. I am so excited. Gonna go to Ikea with a friend this afternoon and then to his new photogrpahy studio. Staying in tonight. I’ve been staying home and getting lots done this week. It feels really good. Making up for all the time I’m gonna be away next month. Skyped with Mum from the boat yesterday, they are in Charleston, SC now and finally have good enough internet to video. I miss you so much Mum. Can’t wait to visit you in the Bahamas mama. How cute is this we made the same face. Love! Hope you are enjoying the day 🙂
