Photographer Hugh Crawford took a photo a day for 18 years. I started with his photos from 1982 (my year) and it’s neat how people and things look so much like life on Instagram.  One of the things I love about being on the Internet is the massive collection of photos from the last ten years. Check out the archive of all Hugh’s photos here. 1982 Looks Just Like Today, Maybe Yesterday… Jamie Livingston (October 25, 1956 – October 25, 1997) was a New York-based photographer, film-maker and circus performer. Between March 31, 1979 and October 25, 1997, the day of his death, he took a single picture nearly every day with a Polaroid SX-70 camera.[1][2] Livingston’s ‘Polaroid a Day’ photographic diary started at Bard College and though some photos have gone missing from the collection, 6,697 Polaroids remain. The collection, dated in sequence, has been organized by his friends Hugh Crawford and Betsy Reid into an exhibit at the Bertelsmann Campus Center at Bard College called “Photo of the Day”, which opened in 2007.[3] By the next year, the pictures were hosted online and became a popular discovery of several online blogs.[4] From Wikipedia The full article is on mentalfloss here. My name is Casie and I have a problem with cameras. It is at this time I regret to inform you that the little pink Fuji has finally succumbed to the little crack in the lens part that goes in an out and now has a permanent zoom error. She’s done. The crack happened some months ago and was all ‘error’ for a while, then it came back to life. I think we lost her this time. Error seems to be EMO for gadgets. I can just see my friend PTBKB reading this and laughing. (Babe, I know, we knew it was a matter of time. Shouldn’t have written that fake losing camera story last month! Gahhhh!) Honestly though, when you are this active and take as many photos as I do on the daily, life is hard for a camera. Time to draw a camera on wheels, to the emergency room or morgue! [sad face] BTW,  did you know my birthday is  Saturday 🙂

is mobile the future?

is mobile the future?

Posted this using WP Mobile app from the Android shop on my Motorola Milestone from Telus. Pretty happy with it. I can’t choose justification or edit the photos but overall, pretty good.  Chrome wont let me make these images bigger. There’s no formatting on mobile and images default to the top of the post.  I’m gonna try mobile posting a bit more this week. I post via mobile to Tumblr, Posterous, Youtube, 12Seconds.tv, Facebook and obviously Twitter. Why not wordpress too? I also downloaded Google Chrome today and think my blog be lookin’ sexy in it. Enjoy my little story. There was a girl who loved to take photos, of herself mostly. She would take photos all day posting them freely about the internet. She could do this ALL DAY  as it didn’t matter WHAT was happening NOTHING made her happier than sharing. One fine day, she was in the park and had made several attempts to get a certain shot on her little camera. A boy who looked like a hipster came over to her smiled and offered to help.  She thought his ‘skiddy’ look was kinda cute so when he asked to take her picture, she smiled, handed over the camera and said ‘ok sure’. She turned around to move back a few steps and the fucker ran away with her CAMERA! He WASN’T a hipster, or a hippy, he was HOMELESS. She cried all the way home wondering how the hell she was gonna post photos all day now! Good thing she had a sweet phone. The End.

We’ve been having quite lovely weather the last few days. The air feels like spring and resonates positivity through vibrant sunlight. I walked to and from work yesterday and thus far, am repeating again today. It makes my mind clear and body feel great. I can definitely feel the multiple hours of walking paying off already! In spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, I will be celebrating at Brazen Head Irish Pub in Liberty Village after work. They were setting up yesterday on my way to the office. I snapped this guy while getting lunch.

i won the camera, now comes the fun part

It was only January 9, 2009 that I wrote a post titled “hey universe, I need a new camera“. It is amazing what you can do if you set your mind to it. The power of positive thought baby! Special thanks to everyone that voted for me and joined Daily Challenge. It was a close race and as I wanted, I came in second place, scoring me the jazzy new flippy video camera. “This camera is not only super sleek and sexy but was also named “one of the most significant electronic products of the year” by the New York Times and if that wasn’t enough the makers of The Flip are have committed to give away 1,000,000 Flip Video camcorders to qualified nonprofits by 2012. Talk about Do Gooding!” Thanks Daily Challenge!

Hey name was Mooshu Manning. You may have her as a friend on Facebook, she was kinda popular for a while. We parted ways but every now and then I think about her. I came across this pic today and was reminded of how much personality she had going on when we used to hang out.In unfortunate Cat News of the Week, my first cat, and longest standing pet was put down this week. Many people know C4, the cat with attitude. She was very old and not doing so well. So I send out a message to her – Rest In Peace kitty!! Now you can whine and dine all you like! MUAH!

hey universe, i need a new camera!

I’ve had bad luck with cameras. I’ve been through a few. However, that was when I used to drink and go partying all the time. A text book alcoholic, I could say, you couldn’t say that without pissing me off. It’s just not nice. The Toronto Police have a checklist and you could be one too. so don’t judge me. I’ve been taking so many pictures and I really need a new camera so I can take better ones and put them here and make videos so you can see how funny I really am. I believe in the powers of positive thought and I am asking the universe to send a camera to me. You know my address uni, we’ve been friends a long time.
