Day 619: Things That Make You Feel Alive

We drive up to the cottage last night and it was so great to wake up here. Went for a walk/run on the road and the cold air was so refreshing. Most of the leaves have fallen, you can see right through the forest. Went for a dip in the lake when I got back and you may think it’s crazy but I love it so much. It hurts and it’s hard, but the feeling after is hard to describe. It’s a high that you don’t get from anything else, it does something to your mind and body. Watch my video here & do more things that make you feel ALIVE! I look forward to cold plunges in the lake so much that I ordered a stock tank to set up on our patio in the city. It’s on backorder but we’ll have it soon. I also ordered platform Ugg slippers and can’t WAIT for both to arrive. Hope you are having a relaxing weekend. Love from the lake xo

Day 585: Thanksgiving Weekend 2021

Slept in a bit then went for a nice walk w/ Sean. The leaves are so beautiful. I left without my phone but ran back to get it. I should have changed out of my platform Crocs (not great for long-distance) so I only went to the end of the road and back. I took a little detour when Sean went off on his run and went into the woods to surround myself with trees. I just looked up and took in their beauty, breathed in the fresh air. F-yeah, forest bathing. ? We had a pretty chill afternoon. Sean had a broth cooking with the turkey leftovers and we watched a couple episodes of ‘Bad Sport‘ on Netflix. I spent a bit of time in the sun reading my new book, The Perfect Neighbour by Susana Beard. I absolutely love the new outdoor couch. Around 5 pm when it was nice and warm, we took the dock out. It’s always a little bittersweet and seems like a daunting task before we do it. Managed to finish the job in about an hour with no major injuries. Always a worry, trust me! The water was cool but refreshing. Looking forward to colder temps and making a nice ice hole for winter cold plunges. It’s insane to think we’re both are looking forward to the lake freezing, who are we!? Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving weekend to celebrate the harvest. We’re returning to the city and after 5 days in the woods, I feel refreshed. Also, the blog is back on track and we’re up to date! Here’s a great (short!) week!

Day 360: Wednesday Workout

Today was a good day. Went for a guided run on the treadmill with the Peloton App. I love their fitness trainers and music. I also did a barre workout and it reminded me so much of ballet as a kid. From 3-13, I spent heaps of time in the studio with multiple classes each week. I learned so much from Ms Lisa, not just about dance but strength, persistence, hard work, and how to stand tall, walk with my head high. Took another short dip in the ice today, a cold plunge hurts but feels great after. I didn’t last too long today, it was windy and that makes it harder. I’ve got some friends in the city who want to give it a try so we might find a spot in the city next week. Looking forward to our weekly trip to town today, Walmart here we come. Wonder if they’ll have any plants in yet? Last year I got a beautiful Monstera and a Fiddle Fig at Bracebridge Walmart, each for $25. In the city I paid $80 for a Fig tree the same size! Sending you good vibes through the internet, hope you’re having a great week!

Day 277: The Ice is Nice

Today was the first day the lake was fully frozen. The ice is nice. This year, we’ve been up on the woods from frozen, to not, and back again. What a year! Tomorrow we’re going back downtown to spend a few days in the city and pickup Emily. Don’t worry Mum, Sean is standing on the dock here. It’s safe! Once making sure it was fully frozen, Sean cleared a section for an ice rink and cold plunge pool. He’s really been into Wim Hof Method the last year. It’s amazing how a dip in ice water gets your blood pumping and leaves your muscles feeling fire. ?

Scandinave Spa Getaway for Two

Scandinave is a great spa tucked away in the woods at Blue Mountain. They’re got all the spa services of any other place but with the addition of Scandinavian Bath nature spa experience. The renowned Scandinavian Baths include a Finnish Sauna, Eucalyptus Steam Room, Thermal & Nordic Waterfalls, Hot Baths, Cold Plunges & relaxation areas. I’ve been here before but this time it was REALLY COLD. It’s a great place to visit but I’d advise against going in a Polar Vortex.  Sean and I braved the blowing wind for about 45 minuted. In less brutal conditions, people stay for 2-3 hours. AED 🙂 The roads driving back to the city were pretty gnarly. The snow banks were as high as the car and snow was blowing all over the place. Coming back to the city brought on a wave of traffic and city stress. I’m ready to book a vacation somewhere HOT! <3 CASIE online Pharmacy Greenline Walter Pharmacy overnight drug online Online Pharmacy USA
