there’s a club house they hang out at

I’ve made friends with a couple peeps at The Musebox a record label that stems from Vice Mag who rep a heap of cool indie bands.  The coolest things about it being their friend is that I get to hear about all kinds of cool shiz before anyone else does and tickets to events. june 15 020-1I recently watched a vid of the Cancer Bats at the Adrift Club house right here in lovely TO.  My friend Justin was recently in NZ, AUS and UK. I snagged this guy from his FB album, that’s him on the right with the dirt stash and sneeky smile.

batsI got hooked up with tickets to go see Patrick Wolf and some other hipster bands for the Nylon Magazine Summer Music tour tomorrow night. It’s gonna be a fun time.  Sabrina’s my date already, sorry. twocrown

I have  another friend by the name of  Sean Goodchild. He is total babe and a very talented. We went to high school together and he was rocking it then and he is also rocking now.  I hope Mum remembers him when she reads this. He used to do an amazing Stomp show when we had the school talent thingy.  His new band is called Two Crown King. His voice makes me swoon. I was listening on myspace and I was taken back to when  I used to dream he was singing to me in high school.

One more thing,  if you don’t know it yet, I heart you online.

i am made of light i am made of stars

A couple years ago Mum gave me the a book called “The Four Agreements” by Don Migue l Ruiz.

It makes me feel less anxiety when I carry it around. It’s one of those you keep in your purse and when someone says something or does something to make you feel not as awesome as you should, I reach for it and read it over a couple times. I refuse to lend it out because I’d hate to not get it back. That always happens with book lending. The Four Agreements are great when you want to be inspired or motivated to keep a positive attitude. My favorite line is in the beginning and it’s the title of this post.anxiety day

island adventure guy

I had a stellar weekend. It was super sunny and I made the most of it. On Saturday I went to the island with Raymi , Phil and friends. Lots happening on the island on a lovely Saturday. There were heaps of kids in interesting costumes. I wanted to get close to take their photos but didn’t bother.  I’ll just keep those memories to myself. There’s  an art installation that plays music when you bike. We found it to be quite fun. The island it really pretty. I haven’t been for ages. Next time I’ll take my bike for sure. There’s a zillion photos from the whole day.raymi

This is the art work out, good thing Raymi got it on video so you can enjoy reliving the excitement.
There’s more photos Raymi’s blog. She posted yesterday. I slacked off and made a nice dinner for friends and avoided the internet. june 12 13 122The ferry ride back to the mainland is way more fun once you’ve spent the afternoon in the sun drinking beer. We all went back to my house for some pizza and swimming. It was great.

Luminato: An Unusual Degree of Enlightenment

The city was illuminated last night and full of people our for Luminato. I was at the Harbourfront for Cirque Du Soleil. Pretty amazing but kinda hard to see. I’m little and there were so many people closer to the stage. I had a blast cruising around on bikes and hanging in parks.

There is an art installation in the music garden that features a toilet.  I thought it was the funniest thing to pretend to use it. I laughed so hard. Oh god, I laughed hard. I got in trouble from security but it was totally worth it. She just told me to get off . My dress is from Apt 909. My favorite store.  It’s a perfect biking dress.

in this department

I’m feeling restless and I want to go to the beach. The sun is shining bright and I’m a little bit hungry. I went for a walk because I was so restless and sat on the artsy project bench and didn’t have anyone to talk to but myself. I could still hear something and I’m sure it’s my thoughts. hears a whoThey were racing around about all kinds of things that are real and not real and happening around me and inside my wild and vivid imagination. I walked into a spider web and it graced my face. No spiders thankfully.

I want to lay in the grass and stretch my arms out really wide and feel the sun on my face. I want to relax. I want to write. I will do that this weekend. I hope it’s sunny. I really should check the weather network and download the app for Blackberry.

A guy from the office sent and email in at 6 am today saying he quit. His team wasn’t really happy but there is part of me that admires him for leaving his desk clean and Blackberry in the top drawer last night before heading home. I sent him an email and it bounced back. Kinda funny, well, to me. Oh god I’m hungry now.

Do you know my friend Elsa Cohen? She’s coming to visit from NYC soon.

Sounds pretty sexual to me …. june11 004

i’m at liberty to go

Tonight is #genyto and the Liberty Village Annual Afterwork party.  Our employers are asked to grant us “liberty” to leave work early and join the Party. They shut down Fraser Avenue  and give us lots of room to have cold bevvys, good food and rad music.  Fun.

i’m your suggested contact

Yesterday I was at MaRS for Net Change Week. I was an expert at Social Mastermind // Social Media for Social Change hosted by RedWire.  I had the opportunity to share ideas and brainstorm with the ladies from Raising the Roof Canada’s only national charity for the homeless. netchange 013I really enjoyed learning about homelessness in Canada and was happy to chat about their youth initiative.   They haven’t really tapped into social media which  gave me lots of opportunity to share my ideas on how they can use social media for good. There was lots of Twitter talk!!  In the end, each group came up with a tangible strategy that they could to take back to the office and execute.

It was awesome to see  friends hard at work helping charities. Prime example, these fine gentleman…@d_hock, Andrew Lane from @nitchblog and Julian Brass from @notableTV.netchange 010-1

I’m have always been very interested in youth issues. When I was in high school I was Director of PR on the City Youth Council and we started a rock festival and opened a drop-in centre for city youth.  It was rewarding and gave me an opportunity to learn a lot about PR and how to turn ideas into reality.  In the evening session I made an appearance at Wired Wednesday. Everyone was wearing name tags with a suggested contact on it…I was theirs. New Folder1-1

absolute effing garbage

Oh, you want more money? No job security?  Hmm, well you should totally just strike then. rant

Did you know there is recession? A Global Financial Crisis? Zillions unemployed? Oh, no? OMG, let me tell you. There are thousands and thousands of unemployed people. I bet they will be garbage men and women if you don’t wanna work. They might even work for less because they are sick and tired of being on the dol and having no job at all.  I bet their babies are hungry and they need to pay Rogers and the rent and the government. Maybe we could all vote on it and whoever wants to work stands up and if you wanna bitch you can sit your ass down?  The head honcho  of the outside workers union said it’s not all about the benjamins and it’s all for job security and work hours. I don’t even know what job security means anymore. I prey that there is no strike. I don’t want to live in a smelly city like back in 2002.rant2

it’s good be a crazy cool kiwi girl

About two yearsago I worked at Hemingways, a Kiwi pub in Toronto or a couple months.I was working away on the patio one night and had been watching Conchords on HBO non-stop for about a month. It was On Demand andI could not get enough of it.

I saw this one guy who had the most uncanny resemblance to Jemaine Clement from Flight of the Conchords. At the same time,  I had also been checking out this cute boy who looked kinda like Brett Mackenzie, also from FOTC. I always have a thing for those cute ones that have the Sam Roberts hair. Seperately, I told them about FOTC, at the time it was a hilarious Kiwi show that hardly anyone had heard of. The were both nice and said  ‘ok, sounds kinda cool’ but I needed evidence. I rounded them up like sheep and got them together for a pic. Totally awesome. First pic is the real ones and the other two pictures are the fakes. They look just like ’em!

this papers not as good for drawing its better for writing in pen i like when the pencil scratches the paper its thinner than the other paper and i like that one better because you can do more with different things and make it more colourful and full of life

i don’t like to write on the back of the paper and i like when the words fill up the spaces of the flat piece of paper either and when words the same end up together it makes me smile and i like it

the reporter is always writing and chasing stories i would rather be chased than chase the lives and run in circles around my own thoughts and how i feel about the lives of other people i like to report my own stories its new and always news

its always new and always news but it gives me anxiety sometimes

Every time I get a new one I feel lucky. It’s like someone opened up world of opportunity and said, ‘Go Casie, you can have anything you want.  If you imagine it, you can have it right here in this fine little book‘. It’s a space wherre I have a conversations with my self and our thoughts. I let them out and they turn into things. I had met with a reporter yesterday which inspired me to pick up the reporter style this time.  moleskine1

I reckon that being left handed I can flip it around nicely to not get pencil lead on my hand as I so often do. heart shaped glasses xoI write in pencil mostly.  I remember a poem I wrote ages ago with a line saying how I like the way ‘the pencil flows on paper twill’. I love looking at the notebooks of other people, there is so much creativity contained in these legendary little things. I bought my last one in March and it was nearly full when I lost the little guy.  It was with my laptop and computer and  funny enough, the thing I miss most is the notebook. True story.

made for a man but good for a girl

it reminds me of him, the smell is strong, slightly sexy and sensual. i lay in my bed and i think of him and the way he smells. it’s only been two weeks since the scent first captivated my senses.  i like it.  i put it on.  it’s made for a man but  i think about how nice it is on my skinthey said play evokes emotion.  a certain style surrounds me, one of sophistication and sexuality at the same time. play could mean anything,  it makes my thoughts soar…it’s strong but soft, it’s my new favorite scent. givenchy-playthe new givenchy fragrance arrived in my mail bag about two weeks ago. i’ve been wearing it and i really like it. it’s called  play and it’s for men .   justin timberlake is the face of the fragrance.  it smells good. sabrina likes it too, i put it on today and she came in asking about it.  the bottle is designed by french artist and designer serge mansau. it comes out in august 2009 at the bay & shoppers. if you’re lucky to come across it before then, take a whiff.  if you see me, i’ll have it on.

added information or an observation

I recently met Sean Ward. He writes a blog, draws cartoons, raps and is one cool ass dude.

After we met he checked out my blog and left a few comments.

That sparked his idea about  the etiquette behind blog commenting. Especially when you just met the person or aren’t part of that blog’s community. We shared some thoughts over Facebook this week about our feelings on the topic.

The conversation can be found on Sean’s awesome blog at seanward.net.

stereo eight and a heart of glass

It’s always something. You think everything is fine and then something shows up to the party and ruins your day. It’s sunny outside and I wore a cute outfit but I can’t help but feel grey. I don’t like feeling this way. I should be happy, it’s the weekend and it’s warm out.  I found this old eight-track tape in Mum’s basement a little while ago.

I wish I had a player to play it.  picture-0591

I sorted through a huge pile of business cards. There’s lots of cool people in that pile.  I think the cards look neat when wrapped and stacked.  I feel like this is the slowest day ever.  It’s one of those day’s i’d watch Closer and listen to Damien Rice I think. There’s heaps cool things in Mum’s basement.  Lots of our old stuff. The movie Yes Man is really funny.  Zack and Miri Make a Porno is one of the worst movies i’ve ever seen.  No link to that one, imbarassed to say I even watched the whole thing. I hope it’s nice out tomorrow.  I could use a vacation day.

he just jumped, i couldn’t save him

Earlier this week I wrote about the many relationships I’ve had with hardware, computers that is. The track record of breakage expands further than computers, it includes phones and cameras too. I can’t even begin to think about all the units I’ve been though over the last few years.

I look forward to getting to work now that I’ve got a new desktop that stays there. It’s safe from the wreckage that I cause every time a laptop touches my fingers.  As I was leaving for the office this morning, I noticed the balcony door open and casually grabbed for the screen door to avoid any bugs coming inside.  There’s lots up high in condo-life.work_polson-099 I attempted to close the door when my blackberry jumped out of my hand.  He must have wanted to go. I tried to stop him, but there was no way. He was full of spite and skid across the concrete heading straight for the edge.  I screamed as if I was being pushed to the very edge myself.  It was loud and full of fear.  I tried to say ‘don’t do it’ but he jumped, he just jumped.  He went right off the edge as if he was at Taupo doing a bungy. Thought flushed my mind thinking, what have I done, what have I not done to make you want  to end it all? I watched the whole thing happen. I saw him falling over 20 stories to what became a very tragic death. picture-061I scurried to the elevator, it seemed to be taking a lifetime. I could not get to the ground fast enough. I saw a resident walk past him, his parts were scattered across the pavement.  I wiped a tear and said  ‘WHAT AM I GOING TO WITHOUT YOU?” in an angry yet very sad  voice. I picked him up and he seemed to still have some life left. ..I got all the pieces and held him close. There was no hope, he was not going to make it.  Not after a fall like that. work_polson-164

Emptiness filled my stomach as thoughts raced through my head. Another breakup to add to the rest.  It’s been a tough week,  I lost two very special friends, laptop and blackberry. I hope the relationship in this beautiful photo lasts longer than the ones I have with gadgets.

and it goes a little somethin’ like this

Great afternoon yesterday with the work mates.  I’m not very sporty nor do I enjoy playing anything with flying balls or kicking.

I made an attempt to be a team player…

work_polson-027I put on my ankle support and I played Human Fooseball. Sabrina told me she was watching it happen and thinking ‘oh no, this is a bad idea’.  I was standing right across from the shoes in the photo below.img_6864

She kicked, I kicked, she won. I got heel right in the top of my foot. I’m currently getting the SAME foot looked at for a heel that went right into it about 3 years ago. Epic fail.

I spent the rest of the afternoon drinking and sitting in the sun. I also went for a relaxing trek around the island on a boat. I liked it. The city looks so pretty from the lake.

Kelly and I were uploading pix to Twitpic the whole time. It was pretty funny because everyone that we were huge dorks and I love that feeling. This photo of us is great, love the tower in the back.

balconyYesterday I got quite a few compliments on the outfit. I think I looked kinda rocker-lesbian-ish. I like that look though, I do it well.  There’s something about the short hair and the side shave that gets the girls.

Maybe I have that look on my face that makes them give me the ‘eyes from across the room.? It happens, my friends know. It’s hot though, I like it.  Maybe it’s all the time I’ve spent at Pride in TO; volunteering, leading a team of hot babes, partying.

One time, I went to Mardi Gras in Sydney in 2004, I had only been in Australia for 5 weeks at the time.

mardigras-syd-2

It was quite surprising when I opened the Sydney Morning Herald to see a colour photo of me kissing my bff in an article about the street party the night before. It was hot and shocking. I tried to find it to show you but had no luck. I’m sure the photo is saved somewhere. It had been raining, we drank a box of goon, were wearing next to nothing and were covered in beads.

It was fun.  I’m not volunteering at Toronto Pride this year. I WILL be having my annual get together with all the girls before heading to the parade. That’s the fun part 🙂

she’s smart and sexy at the same time

When I was in Florida I met this adorable darling from Louisiana. She shocked me with what she does to fill up her time…I found it to be very interesting. Much different from my life in IT blogging away in Toronto. She’s working on a crazy Ph.D and also does fetish porn, similar to what you’d find if you would Browse around tubev sex for top quality Milf sex. I know! I don’t think I’ve ever met anybody that’s a doctor and that appears on sites like videos hd xxx in their spare time. So, I wanted to interview her. She has some crazy stories and she’s cute as a button. As I’m sure you can imagine, stories don’t get much crazier than a porn star’s. Maybe if she does cam sex in the future on a site like LiveJasmin, you can ask her about them yourself (www.livejasminefrance.fr questions frequentes).

This is Part One of my interview with Fetish Porn Star Sicilia Ricci in New Orleans, Louisiana.florida-121-june

That’s not your real name! Where did it come from & where do you come from?

l_fd7db7c8a46547c3bfc8a33244c9336a

I really liked Sicilia, because my dad’s family is from Sicily. I grew up around a lot of my Italian family and I love the family recipes and all the yummy desserts. So, I thought Sicilia would be perfect! And then the Ricci just seemed to really flow. I really like going by Sici Ricci for short!!!

You’re hot. Is the weather as hot as you in New Orleans?

Thanks my little Cas-nugget! I think I am so hot because I live in New Orleans. There is nothing like New Orleans heat. Have you ever been to a lovely spa and had a luxurious treatment and then sat in there glorious sauna and felt all refreshed after 10 or 15 minutes? Well, imagine if a scary gnome came and locked you in. Welcome to summer in New Orleans. There is no such thing as saunas in our spas down here…we just call it outside. And yesterday marks the beginning of hurricane season, so please keep your fingers crossed that there’s no Katrina stirring in the waters this year. Or, I might be up visiting all my friends from Toronto very soon!

What do you do in New Orleans besides Fetish stuff?l_adef8bccfb26c5aed4ba5122b02e6d7c

I am in New Orleans working on my Ph.D. in immunology. It’s a lot of fun and really rewarding. It’s like opening up a book of mind-boggling questions everyday and you get to use cool CSI-type experiments to find out the answers. For those curious at heart, it’s perfect.

Why don’t you tell the world how we met and where? That’s a fun tale.

Casie and I were roomies with two of our other friends at a big huge fetish event in Florida. Some of what happens there might end up at websites like watchmygf (open watch my gf now). It is called Fetish Factory and their anniversary weekend, which falls every Memorial Day, is a huge event that draws in over 2500 fetishists. We had a killer time this year and I know there will be more to come in the recent months!!!

If you could get a gift in the mail of anything you want, what would it be?

The Samurai. I tried it out about a year and a half ago now and it gave me the most intense orgasm ever. It is a long metal tube that inserts into your favorite hole and is attached to a tens unit. When you turn it on, it makes your vaginal wall muscles contract, so when you cum…you really CUM!!!

Wow. Sounds pretty intense. You’re pretty awesome Sicilia Ricci. Do you have a website were people can stalk you?

You can stalk me on myspace. Unfortunately, I do not have my own website up yet, but hopefully soon. You can see some clips of me at www.thebondagechannel.com or www.wasteland.com. Hope you check them out and I hope you like them!

does mrs. bennett know i have a blog now mum?

There’s something here you don’t get in a post on Mashable or TechCruch, CNN, MSNBC, CBC, CityTV, CTV, MTV and all those other newsy post all the time guys. You get a story. I think I should tell more stories. I like to live them out as I try to remeber what really happened. It’s hard to think of them but when I do, I gotta write it down. Ideas only last so long.

warehouse me

I came to the warehouse to work and write a bit. Theres something about being here that makes me feel so at home. When I was little Dad had a big industrial space for the hot rod shop. It smelled like tool box, wheels and work. The 32′ they build had huge Mickey Thompson tires that came up to above my waist at the time.

The home garage always had cars in it too and on the weekends Dad and his friends would push them onthe street and the driveway and work on them with their shirts off. sed so stylish. All the kids played in the backyard on the swing set with sun and hats and the sprinkler.

Even now, I still love spending time in my home garage tuning up my car and tidying away clutter from inside my house. Which reminds me, I must check up on my best friend soon. She lives in Illinois and the last time we spoke her garage door was broken! There are a few companies who specialise in garage door repair in Addison so I hope she managed to call someone out. A broken garage door can be a massive inconvenience after all.

me, the men, the machines

I’ve got bad luck with computers. You think, that being so online and web savy that i’d be all over that shit.

Well no. I’m not good with those relationships.  I break them.  I’m rough.  I’m hard on my equipment.  I’ve been through at least one computer every year since 2004 when I got my first laptop for uni….I’ll tell you about it.

My first love, a silver one to take to Australia. He was 11.5″ and I called him Richard. He was sexy, soft and sleek. After a year his disk drive  just would not open for me. One of the pixels in his eye lost it’s spark.  We came home  from down under together but shortly after our return  I took him back to the shop.  It was over.

He was replaced with a 17″ Toshiba, big David I liked to call him.  He was strong. He was great for late night movies and could bust out loud tunes that made me want to dance all night. Big David, he didn’t last. He crashed,  hard. Must have been those many late nights… movies in bed, after-parties, other people playing.

I knew I needed a rebound….

I went to something familiar, the sleek silver 11″ stallion.  This one was German, Medion. I called him Medi. He was good to me. He was the kind of guy you could take anywhere. No baggage, he was light and made me look cute when we sat for coffee and online chatting.  It ended bad. One night we had too much to drink and I spilled red wine all over Shane’s Thinkpad…and he died.  I was mortified. We all were. I had no choice in my kind heart but to give her my Medi. I was sad to see him go. He was with her now.

New Year, new job. I got a Thinkpad too. He never really felt like mine but we had a thing. He was good to me until…one late night at the Social. I had been to several events.  Why I dragged his ass around I have no idea? I should have left his ass at the office. He didn’t need to come, but he did. I drank too much and left with someone else. I left him there, totally forgot about him sitting at coat-check. He had my Crumpler bag and ipod and my favorite Moleskine. I never got them back, I never got anything back from him.

New day, same job, spare guy from the storage closet. Not as nice, but just as practical. He’s my average Joe.  I’ve never been a girl to like the Joe’s and now I might know why.  Does and average Joe just crunk out on you? Quit. Stop putting in an effort? Last night I took him home and when I pushed his buttons he made noises that hurt my ears. They weren’t pretty. They were high pitched like whining, I was scared and turned him off after turning him on. He’s at the doctor now.  I hope he’s OK.  My heart can not take another breakup like that.

Now, I sit here,  my delicate fingers and black nails press the keys on this old, slow Acer.  I feel like I’m doing time at an old folks home or posting from the Library. I’m dressed in black.  My heart longs for guy that I can spend time with, one who can handle my demands of usage and that can be worked hard and play even harder.  I need a new computer, one that is my own that can be my companion. I want to build a lasting relationship.

If you’re out there…find me. We can start off slow and ease into it. I’ll be gentle. I’ll take care of you.  You will become famous, I’ll tell all the interwebs how much I love you.

Love, the girl who’s hard on units, Me.

i see you airvertising subthing?

I often find that when I have a sub it stinks up the place like smelly armpits.  I don’t really mind it much when it is my own sub, it’s less obvious.

I do quite mind when it is some others sub thing. The airvertising is not pleasing to the senses.  I still go for subs now and then, but rarely takeout.  It’s too much and my nose knows it.
