The Big Clean of 2017 vs The MMVAs ?

What a great weekend! We had heaps of rain but I *actually* sat down and got a lot done. Sean and I also did The Big Clean of 2017! This week my friend Misty and her daughter + sister are coming up to the cottage with Emily and myself. It’s going to be super fun. relaxing, visiting and GIRLY. I’m really looking forward to it! Misty is from Australia (but lies here) and her sis visiting from the motherland. Shrimp on the barbie! Haha. IN OTHER NEWS… Sean won TWO MMVAs last night at the show! We were deep into the big clean when I checked Twitter to see they won the first one and seconds later saw a second tweet. A Little MMVA history… Over the last 10 years, my relationship with the MMVAs has gone through some major changes. Back in 2007-2008, going to an MMVA party was the coolest thing and being on a list or getting a wristband was the ultimate. FF to 2009 when I worked at MUCH. I was the Social Media Manager for the 2010 show  (imdb) and worked tirelessly for months, then ran social behind the scenes during show night. In 2012, Sean was nominated for Down With Webster video and I came out to celebrate his win after the show. It was in the early stages of our relationship and I remember thinking he was SO COOL. (Still is!) In 2015, he was nominated again for Zed’s Dead and did the red carpet before the show. I really wanted to go but he didn’t have plus 1. He went with his partner on the project (Grandson & Son) and he sent me this photo! We’d stopped at Yorkdale on the way home from the cottage. He got into his clothes as fast as…

Waiting for it, that green light.

I wasn’t really feeling like myself today. I don’t really know what it was but there’s a good chance it had something to do with the drinks Sarah and I had AFTER seeing Book of Mormon last night. It was totally hilarious, highly recommend. So funny. I slept in and dragged myself most the day except for the amazing creative idea Shawn Hawaii  (A+ real estate agent!) and I had in the middle of the day for a 12th anniversary blog party next month. After doing some planning I started having anxiety about the whole thing and thought maybe it’s silly to plan a huge party for myself? For the blog? (This idea is really good tho and it would be SO FUN.) It’s a lot of work and might be expensive, but it’ll also be a huge thank you to everyone who’s been part of the blog all these years. You reading right now and every other set of beautiful eyes that’s ever graced these pages (web pages ?). All the agency people I’ve made friends with and so many great clients. All my friends from the internet (which is actually real life because they are the same thing but you know what I mean). It would be so wonderful to see everyone and their smiling faces in a room. I might even cry if that happens. Happy tears! ? Being on the internet is hard sometimes and other times it’s awesome. Theres days when I daydream what it is like to be a person who doesn’t Facebook or check notifications. Someone who can go for a walk without checking their phone or taking a photos. I mean I can do that, I just don’t. In other news, there’s new LORDE. New Zealand represent. Love her.

#SaveYourScreams #MMVA 2014: 2 Noms, 1 Commercial!

The 2014 MMVA show is next weekend and this year is an exciting one for me! Sean and 1188 Films are nominated for two awards in Post Production AND my sister is an MMVA commercial now playing on your TV. I’ve always loved the MMVAs and in 2010 I was the Social Media Manager for the show while I worked at MuchMTV. 1188’s nominations are for Hedley – Crazy for You and Sam Roberts – We’re All In This Together. He’ll be attending the show with his team and I’ll be prepping to hit the town after and *hopefully* celebrate them bringing home another award. Cross ya fingaz! Last year Sean & 1188 worked on Drake’s ‘Started from the Bottom’ which won video of the year. In 2012 they won an award for Down With Webster’s ‘Big Wheels’. Keep an eye out for my samurai-sword-swinging sister on your TV. Jenie Stewart is in an MMVA ‘Save Your Screams’ commercial. It’s pretty funny, they made the girls look pretty rough and fight against each other. Love it! Watch Jenie’s 2014 MMVA Commercial #SaveYourScreams It’s also pretty exciting Lorde will be at the show. GO TEAM NEW ZEALAND! She’s killing it! So proud of Jenie, Sean, and Lorde! As for me, I’m getting a Chevy Camaro convertible for that weekend from Klout so I’ll be feeling pretty great too. Happy Friday my friends! <3 CASIE

We Wouldn’t Be Seen Dead Here in The Day

Another night another costume! Brock, Lozzie and I went to the Rue Morgue/Netflix Canada party at Courthouse. It was SO GOOD. I have never been to a Halloween party with so many ahhhhhhmazing costumes. Honestly, there were heaps. I saw a few peeps that didn’t recognize me until I started talking to their face. I love Halloween so much. I am not a religious person but if there is one thing that I practice, it’s Halloween! It’s at least a week-long celebration every year. Roxy, Lauren, Becca There was some craaaaaaazy stuff happening at the Rue Morgue party. This girl above was getting tortured. The girl below had a glass box put on her head then it was filled with bugs while she was tied to a chair. No escape/terrifying. Another girl had REAL leeches stuck to her body then ripped off. Scary! SIMPSONS FAMILY. He actually had sound bites in his costume. He made the finals. I ain’t ‘fraid no ghost. Brockbusters! Day of the Dead (Spanish: Día de Muertos) is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world in other cultures. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. It is particularly celebrated in Mexico, where the day is a bank holiday. The celebration takes place on October 31, November 1 and November 2, in connection with the Christian triduum of Hallowmas: All Hallows’ Eve, All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.[1][2] We were going to the ladies room and this huge guy in a straight jacket and chains ran at us. I was terrified and actually scurried to hide behind something. It was so creepy. He was locked in a cage the rest of the night. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. SHARKNADOOOOOOOO! MILEYYYYY. Tim Horton’s Hallowselfie. So Canadian. pic.twitter.com/bWVatYXQ0V — GORE-n HallO’wNizzle (@laurenonizzle) October 26, 2013 Family…
