Wake up at 6 am reach for water forgetting the pain and feel a sharp knife in my back. Take in medicine, deep breath, exhale. I lay down slowly as not to get that knife again and fall back to sleep. Wake up reach for water, the knife strikes again, twice. I take twice as long to get ready. Slowly put on underwear with out falling, I dress in comfy clothes. Dust off the running shoes and the knife strikes as the cat scurries by. I ignore the pain and I and I tie them up. Reminder to eat something before medicine and get change for street car. Off the bike for a while.  Everything is taking longer, taking longer. I wait for the streetcar, preying for a seat. Every bump or stop on the ride is amplified to me right now. Standing would be torture. I see a girl with a backpack, strangely I wish I could wear a backpack. I’d look like a highschooler in these Lulu’s and flower hoodie.  Cute boy briskly passes me on the sidewalk; I’m almost at medium pace. No head  turns. I want an iphone badly. Riding public transit is good for writing. Each car is full of stories waiting to be told.  I look like I’m aggressively texting non stop about something important. I am, my thoughts are important. The pain medicine sinks in as I swivel in my desk chair. Brief red carpet outing last night…

hello hollywood glamour!

The night was warm as over four hundred fine people walked the red carpet boarding the yacht. Toronto is full of do-gooders and together we surpassed our goal raising over $600o for Meal Exchange. Thank you everyone that purchased event tickets, raffle tickets and came out to have fun! Along with raising awareness of an awesome national student-founded, youth-driven charity, our donation will result in mentoring over 214 youth and providing over 7,500 meals to those in need. Thanks to Mariposa Cruise Lines for giving us a great spot to have a party and the Argo girls for coming out too. They’re lined up here to chat with Rob from Smojoe.com. Check out the photos from our wonderful photographers Rosa Park, Say Yeah, and Chris G. The next Twestival is in the new year and will an opportunity to tweet, meet and give for a global cause.  It will obviously be a night not to miss!  Have a great day. I did an interview for Daniele Rossi’s Creative Bender radio show after getting back on land. Take a listen, it’s short & sweet.

it’s the little things that matter most

Thank You Sprouter! from my heart I met Sarah Prevette and Erin Bury early this year when I volunteered to be on the team for Twestival. At the time they were Redwire and the power behind the greatness that was hosting the event. Being part of the team and getting to know them was an awesome experience. We have since worked on a bunch of things together and I try to help out where I can. The office admin girl came over and said ‘you’re so lucky’ as she dropped a beautiful green money tree at my desk. Interestingly enough, I mentioned earlier that karma goes around and shows up when you least expect it. I feel so lucky today. Thank you. Looking forward to Twestival Local on September 12th, mark your calendars!

you can’t rain on my parade

Good Morning! I feel like I could be a radio show today. I am happy to be at work. It’s a beautiful day might even thunderstorm later. The ride in is what I have been missing for the past two weeks. Breaks fixed. Wore my helmet and felt good about it. Smarter, like it keeps my thoughts all bunched up close together and in a jumble and now I sit here and they all flow out like waterfalls fast how I like them to.  Held my nose past the slaughterhouse, stinks bad man. Gross. NO strikers anymore. Good thing. Saw a soda pop  van covered in astro-turf grass. Breakfast Television has lost my interest but I like the news and weather of CP24. Hot today still humid. Thunderstorm would be nice. I like to ride through the puddles. Dad’s got a sewing machine for me and I’ve got heaps of fabric and vintage patterns at home. Really excited. Twestival Local is coming up September 12th 2009, mark your calendar. In Twestival Global raised over $250,000.00 for charity: water. It was really fun. Twitter has grown so much since February. I hope it rains when I bike home.

his name is robert but you can call him bobby

I spent the whole day lazing around in the sunshine in the pool. It was simply divine. As I laid there floating in the pool gazing up at the blue sky and occasional cloud, I thought, it doesn’t get any better than this. It did get better. Ellen checked into the hotel and Bob took me on a secret excursion. I had no idea and was I ever surprised. They knew I’ve been looking for a new laptop and Bob woke up this morning and told Ellen he was gonna surprise me with one today.  I just about died when he said ‘we’re going to get you a laptop right now’. We went, I got. I’m still smiling and I’m super excited. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I named him Robert after Bob and I’m extremely grateful to have you both in my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  This kiss is for you.

bike helmet meets babe

I’ve been avoiding wearing/getting a helmet despite Mum’s efforts to convince me I need one. This is going to be hard for Mum to read the most I think… Last night at the intersection where near my house, a 34 year old woman was  hit almost killed when a car struck her while biking. She was not wearing a helmet. The streets were closed off and as I rode by and saw the lonely bike standing beside the police car, my heart dropped. I took these photos on the way to meet Saul Colt for dinner. The accident happened while I was there and 3 blocks behind me in the photo. I’m going to get a helmet within the next week. I will be photo-blogging it all the time. If you or your company wanna be my helmet head sponsor please email [email protected]
