TIFF day two: apparently somebody is famous

Oh man. Was in bed all day today. I need to rest. I am almost Tiff’d out. Premiere tonight thanks the lovely Cadillac Insider. Going to see CLIENT 9 The rise and fall of Eliot Spitzer. Have to go get my tickets but I don’t want to go outside yet. It sounds windy. Not as sunny today. Yesterday was an awesome day, an awesomely looooong day. Yorkville all day Tastmakers Gifting Lounge for  nails done, makeup and more. Thanks for the presents guys! That neighbourhood is growing on me, could also be that it is Film Fest so buzzing. Joe Fresh makeup is really nice. My lipstick didn’t leave marks when kissing cheeks of all the zillion people I saw throughout the day. Diesel Lounge for lunch on the patio and a mini photo shoot with hot NY photog Raphael Mazzucco. He is apparently a pretty big deal, shooting covers of Time, Sports Illustrated and Victoria’s Secret. Can’t wait to get those photos. He was also very good looking;  tall, long hair, charming. Went to Vitamin Water Backyard Social. Was fun. Did this interview with O’Nizz and had my phototaken heaps. I could really get used to this kinda stuff. Met a few peeps that made a point to come say hi and were really happy to meet me for the first time. HI GUYS! Vitamin Water party had a great bar, top shelf selection. Food was good too. Everyone was on Twitter which was fun. Hardly took any pics of my own. This is Blondetourage member, singer/actress and also ex-MTV babe Anna Cyzon. We in love, she has a great look eh. Blonde Jovi. haha Went to private secret location roof thing on King Street after with some friends then home to change for the CBC party at the…

Jeans Publishing: Did you know I wrote a book when I was a teenager?

I was a young entrepreneur. When I was 13, in grade 8, before I had internet, I started a publishing campany called Jeans Publishing with my friend Holly and the help of our Mums. We got funding to start our business and began taking on the DIY (do it yourself) circuit around Ontario attending conferences and seimnars on evenings and weekends.  We often set up a booth to talk about what we were doing and where we wanted to go. We though it was important for young people to have their work published, we were tired of people not taking us seriously just because we were youth. So, we did it ourselves. We started a quarterly newsletter called Jeans Material where we published young peoples work and sent it out to out to over 100 subscribers across Canada. Each subscriber paid $5 for a one year subscription and we printed them all ourselves. We were official with our ISSN which allowed the identification of our serial publication. We wrote an anthology of poetry and prose called JEANS and in 1996 I became a Published Canadian Author. Our book launch was at the Preston Library Branch on November 7, 1996 and we sold 81 books that night. One dollar from the sale of each book went to the local womens crisis shelter. This is me presenting the cheque. Don’t laugh at my bangs, there were horrible back then. Jeans was an acronym that stood for Junior Education & Achivement Network System (tongue twister?). I’ve hunted around the internet to find stuff about it but it was so long ago, there’s nothing. (I’m sure newspaper archives exist.) Here’s what I have kicking around the house, most our stuff back at Mum’s tucked away. We were in heaps of papers and it makes…

happy birthday canada. i ♥ you.

This one time, on Canada Day, when I was 16, I won a beauty pageant. I got to ride in a convertable in the parade and wave like the Queen. It was awesome. I always wanted to do that, so I did. My sister won Little Miss and I was Miss Teen. Long hair and braces, wow, that was a LOOONG time ago. THANK YOU CANADA for being so awesome and a country where I know I can achieve ANYTHING I want. I am proud to be Canadian. I love the Classified version of Oh Canada! Stand on guard for theeeeeeeeeeee!

#moovboot: and the winner is…

Thank you for the comments, I didn’t expect to get SO MANY!  I’m happy to announce the winner of the #Moovboot contest is… I wish I could give you all a pair to keep your little feet warm and dry. I met Bre through Twitter and IRL at the Movember party. We’ve become friends now so she probably doesn’t think she’ll be the winner BUT SHE IS! Not only did she comment & tweet with the hashtag, but she posted a twitpic and started a conversation with me about them more than once. She’s probably gonna freak when she reads this. Congrats Bre, I’ll chat you about delivery etc. The other winner is CANADA! We fucking killed it last night. I’m so proud to be Canadian. My sisters puppy Tikka is proud to. Went for pint of Molson Canadian with the fams. Don’t mind my double chin, it’s not really like that ok. Have a great day. Enjoy the gold glory. Kinda glad it’s all over and I never wanna hear ‘I Believe’ again, too bad it’s stuck in my head! ah.
