i feel like a celebrity in this room with you

Woke up and had as couple great phone chats with friends. Fun night out with the work mates last night. I seriously love my work. I love what i’m doing and the people. Tomorrow May 2, marks 6 months working with MuchMTV. I was in my old job for two years and knew it wasn’t where I wanted to be. I needed to be doing somehting I loved. I loved twitter and blogging and publishing and internet and I knew I could find a job where I could show that love in a big way. I found it. There are so many new jobs popping up all the time, we’re a lucky generation to be able to say “Hey I want  __________ and I’m gonna get it.” One of the video’s I did for My City Lives last week talks about GenyTO and the group of like minded individuals behind the idea that started it in Jan 2009. I’m so inspired by the friends I’ve made over the last couple years. You can watch the vid’yo here, having trouble embedding it for some reason. I got a new phone today from Motorola called the Backflip. This thing lets you stream emails and social networks into one feed and it backs all your stuff up. I’m testing it out this weekend to see if I like it better than the Milestone, that phone is gonna be hard to beat. I’m really liking Android in general. Think I might need to buy myself one of the custom phone cases to look after it though! Stay tuned for my thoughts on it. Twitter released it’s official app for Android today. Downloaded it. So far its ok. The homepage is portrait vs landscape which bugs me and it seems you can only have one account. I’ve been using the Seesmic app to publish and monitor about five accounts for work etc. The RT function doesn’t let you edit tweets first which is pretty annoying. Gonna give it a fair go this weekend along with the new phone. It’s been a really good day. Checked a few things off my list that I’ve been meaning to get done. Feeling super positive and looking forward to the weekend. Think it’s gonna rain tomorrow but I don’t mind, it’s been a busy week. Might clean my room if it’s rainy. Need to catch up on emails (sorry if you’re one of the people I’ve not emailed back yet). Gonna head over to Raymi‘s place for her roomie’s bday party tomorrow night. the more we get together the happier we’ll be

Walked to work with the cousins this morning and showed than around the MuchMusic studio. It’s really nice having them here.  I’ve never had a cousin around my age visit me before. We had a fun at the game last night, but baseball, I’m just not that into it.  The Rogers Ctr was quite empty and we ditched our already good seats in the 200’s to move in to the 100’s super close.  Will post about that later. Thanks Mum for sending this little shirt dress, love it! This is an interesting vid from the Rogers blog with stats on how we use technology. It’s fascinating to think about how communication has changed in the last 10 years, 5 years, 2 years. My main source of communication is Twitter and I rarely actually ‘talk’ on the phone to anyone. Twitter is where I get the bulk of my info and most friends I hang with these days, all tweet. I love it. Text, gchat and email rank higher than voice over phone line for sure. In other entertainment news, the World Cup ACTUAL cup will be @muchmusic for MOD today.

schools out for summer

Look who’s a Degrassi student today! I was running into a meeting earlier today and my boss asked if my shirt was new and if I was going to the big meeting this afternoon. “No” I said, “oh, it’s a DEGRASSI meeting” he replied.  I look like SUCH a keener and I love it. Abby gave it to me last night as a thank you for inviting her to my Hills party.  She works with the show which is awesome cause it’s gonna be airing on MuchMusic. BTW if you ever wanna come watch The Hills with me at MTV, just ask! I’ll be hanging out there on Tuesday nights. Remember last week when I filmed with My City Lives, the vids are aliiiiiive! 2006 – first post + cartoons i drew, was blogging on myspace with poems, worked in fashion, had been back from australia for one year, moved to Toronto in the Annex 2007 – wasn’t really that organized or posting that often, started working in IT, learned to love the internet more, was doing freelance PR, lived in the East End 2008 – posting regularily , dark hair, started borderline artistic, signed up for twitter, partying often, living Queen West 2009 – doing it daily, loving it, drawing, tweeting, doing charity stuff, got a job doing what i love, moved to a condo by the water 2010 – who knows that the future holds! Thanks for being part of it.

I’m excited. Like, I mean, reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally, excited. There are so many things happening around right now that make me want to puke a rainbow of joy for weeks on this thing. Sia Concert – Tonight: She’s performing on MTV Live. I’m working at The MTV Temple instead of MuchMusic. Awesome. Hills Finale – Tonight: I’ve got almost 30 people coming to ma Hills party at MTV. I used to have Hills parties at my house. The friends who are coming all blog and/or tweet. Hellz fucking yeahz. Jays vs Boston – Wednesday: My cousin Isaac and his GF are here from NEW ZEALAND. Last time I saw him (the only time we met), I was 12. It was 1994. Birthday – May 8:  Officially TBD. I’d like to have a “haven’t met you yet” party, everyone comes and meets everyone else #casie. Florida – May 27-31: just talked to my friends yesterday and I’m so excited. Ready for a vacation with friend I haven’t seen in a whole but I love. Gonna dance heaps. MMVA – June 20: Watch it play out on Twitter #mmva The G20 – June 26-27: right near my house.  Rumor has it I need a pass to get to and from work. Been asked by York/Ryerson to take part in a doc about it. Filming me daily. Um, can I G20 Summit Rental my condo on Craigslist? Big money. I got shot by Erika Ruth about 2 weeks ago. Here are some of the pix. It was a super nice day out, sunny, warm. I was internetting down by the lake in the sunshine. My outfit:  singlet, american apparel bikini, cut off shorts, fishnets, Dr. Marten combat boots, ribbon laces. Then I chilled out on Canada’s largest tall ship, Empire Sandy. It got a little windy as I reflected on my day. This one is my fav. I’ll have the whole set from her later this week. Stoked to see how they look. I take my OWN photo so often, it’s really nice to have someone else do it. THANKS ERIKA! She can take your photo too if you want too visit her blog or tweet her @erikaruthphoto. Today is World Malaria Day. I tweeted & donated as well as posted an End Malaria pic on Daily Booth photo like the rest of the Malaria Envoy. Here’s 5 Ways You Can Support World Malaria Day online via Mashable. I also made Pho today. Sabrina said it was the most adventerous meal she’s ever seen me make. I don’t cook very often. I can, but I don’t. It was easier than I thought and I was able to make it less salty and use really nice meat. It turned out great!
