a fashionable woman is always in love…

And so it began…the day of closet organizing. I photographed about 100 pieces and there’s  many more to go. It’s a huge job. I had a garbage bag size pile of clothes to take to the swap and at the end of the day all the leftovers go to charity. It was at Amy’s friend Daniella’s shop Chasse Gardée, Queen and Dovercourt. So many nice things in the shop. I spotted about 20 pairs of shoes I’d love to own.  Smile for the cam-cam ladies! People brought clothes throughout the day so the merch was always changing. I ended up going back later with Keri and donating more clothes. Oh it felt so good to give them away! We all managed to find a few jems. There was lots of really nice stuff (vintage, designer). Demin jacked I’ve now altered, vintage dress and brand-new-tags-on FCUK mini dress with pockets. Steal. I am now the proud owner of a room where there are no clothes on the floor, EVERYTHING is clean and has a home. It’s been ages. I feel like my mind is free from clutter, finally! I’m thankful for my first job at the GAP in 1996, everything is perfect folded. I’m totally inspired to host my very own swap with wine and cheese. Stay tuned. I reckon before the holidays (which are very quickly approaching). It’s so beautiful outside today, like a second summer. Enjoy it. I’m going for a bike ride. Woot – Sunday Funday! p.s. Taylor Swift was hilarious on SNL last night and I love her.

that was a really great way to start the morning

I checked out to update blog on lunch and the guys beside me were gabbing away about internet, SEO and social media. I tried my hardest not to pipe up and join the conversation. They’re in the back of this video and were wondering what the heck I was doing. haha If they only knew! I say ‘layers’ at the end, hard to hear I know. Everyone was talking loud. I love style but in the summer it’s hot and a dress alone will usually do. Fall, that’s when all the good guys come out. I’ve got a new closet to display them all beautifully and I know they’re all dying to be hung. That’s the plan for the weekend, unpack all my crap and put it in its place. I don’t even mind if it rains, I would love to watch a thunder storm over the lake or stomp in some puddles. Have a great day!

a productive means of communication

It’s Friday, thankfully. I feel like this week is a month… I got mad yesterday. Really mad. It was like everyone who crossed my path was out to make me angry and it worked. I’m a pretty happy girl as you know but I just couldn’t fight it this time. Also, someone in my office keeps tipping off my boss about me being on Twitter… not fun. I’m productive. I get my stuff done here. I don’t understand why someone is out to get me! Gah. Perhaps she should spend her time looking up erp software so everyone ELSE can be more productive too? Sheesh. She would be better off looking up a manufacturing software even though that’s not our business. Lots of packing to do this weekend before moving next week. Gonna need some help as my back seems to have two fractures in it.  I need an MRI now. Tragic, I know. I feel like watching the Breakfast Club or Annie Hall and curling up on the couch. Something to make me feel good. The air outside is cool and breezy,  my dress blows pretty in the wind.  I miss summer vacation. Is it 5 yet?

It’s a good day. Sun on my face, wind in my hair. The air is cool yet fresh. I feel good. On my way in I was thinking about being social. Last week I was at The League of Kickass Business People at The Social, being social, talking about social media. After that I went to the Refresh Events Summer social. I could not get ‘social’ out of my head. Social, social social. Social Media. Social Influence. Social good. They all roll off the tongue and leave you with a feeling of happiness. There is one thing that I’ve been talking about lately with people is – how do you put a price on social media? It’s difficult when it’s all includes user-generated content (UGC) or consumer-generated media (CGM). It’s hard to put a price on something that is hard to define. Wikipedia says Social media can be said to have three components; Concept (art, information, or meme). Media (physical, electronic, or verbal). Social interface (intimate direct, community engagement, social viral, electronic broadcast or syndication, or other physical media such as print). I’ve been putting quite a bit of thought into this over the past few months and especially since I saw the social media revolution video. I’m gonna think about it more and come back to it. we have hundreds of mc donalds toys

Things are a little different in the East end. They move at a different pace then the West. The people look different. More dogs, wives, kids, lawns, antique shops, less hipsters. I’ve never seen a house like this before. It’s in the East end at Queen and Bertmount Ave on Bertmount, about a block North of Queen. Necessary pull over for photos. I’ve been trying to think up stories all day about the people that live here. The lady that put all these guys up. How long? What does she look like? Her name is Shirley. She won best small garden from the city one year. Best garden. Yes, best GARDEN! Look at this baby and say ‘best small garden’ out loud. There are so many random and tattered toys all over. It’s crazy. We collected Mc Donald’s Happy Meal toys. Mum has hundreds of them in the basement. Boxed. Original packaging. Barbies, Beanie Babies, Playmobile, Lego, Batman, Disney stuff and more. Somebody needs a thingamabob? So creepy. Tahnee keeps freaking out every time she looks at my screen. She said at Christmas Shirley decks the place out in lights. I can’t even imagine. Ok, I can but I don’t want to. These are most definitely different to the type of kids toys you see on Youtube. Quite frankly, I think a child looking at these toys too long would need to go to therapy. Today was as the kind of hot I love when it’s sticky and your skin stays soft all day. I took a watermelon to a bbq in the afternoon. Love summer melons. Thanks for having me guys! Browsed a book at their place with some valuable lessons in it. This was a cute one.
