WMCFW Day 2: Blog, Blog, Fashion Baby

Day 2 of World Mastercard Fashion Week was pretty fun. My fav thing (as I already said) is seeing all my fashion friends in one place. It’s a riot to make laughs, see outfits, and have cocktails together. I saw three shows David Dixon, DUY, and Line Knitwear. LINE was my fav. I alwasy love their collection and have a few LINE peices in my wardrobe. Vine is so awesome for fashion shows. I’ll take a few more tonight at Lucian Matis, Ashtiani, and Korhani.

My hair is wild today. Leftovers from my fashion makeover last night. Lipstick is Coral Crush my Maybelline that Lucky used on me last night. I went out and bought it right after! Owl sweater is Emma Cook from Top Shop I got in England. Wool & warm for this urghhhh weather.

Shows on my WMCFW schedule for tonight are David Dixon, DUY, and Line Knitwear. I’ll also be stopping by a food & fashion event with The Coveteur & Holt Renfrew.

World MasterCard Fashion Week FW 2013

It’s freezing guys. Too cold for fashion week! WTF is up with the snow? This is what backstage in hair & makeup looks like.

I got a mega VIP experience last night and had my hair & makeup done by the lovely Lucky. We used to work at MuchMuaic/MTV years ago. Stopped by the RESERVE lounge for sponsors for a cocktail and went home early.

Hailo Will Change Your Attitude About Taxis Forever

I took a Hailo to work this morning not remembering (you know my bad memory) that this episode was coming out today. Ha! I totally LOVE this app. It’s honestly the BEST way to taxi yourself around. No calling an operator, no fiddling with cash at the drop off, and they drivers are nice. I haven’t called a Beck in weeks. Thanks Hailo! Nella Bella FW 2013 Media Preview

This photo is from the FW 2013 launch for Nella Bella the other day. Sean & Brock, both so handsome. I’m glad I cut my hair too. Moto jacket is from Nasty Gal’s first ever collection (SS 2013). Obsessed with that site BTW (HINT HINT BIRTHDAY IS COMING).

This private event , hosted by Nella Bella’s Creative Director Tarek Al-Azbat introduced to us and the media to many firsts for the six-year-old fashion house. New products include scarves, cowls, a PDA carrying case, multi-compartment tote and more wallets.

I’ve had a few NB bags over the years and have literally worn them out by taking them around the world and on a zillion adventures. It was lovely to be there supporting Tarek and celebrating with my fashion ~~friends~~ family.

I’d really like this big ol’ black one. It is similar to a style from a couple season back that I absolutely LOVED!

Received quite a lovely gift in the mail from my love, Ted Baker London today. Was invited to be an ambassador for the launch campaign in Canada last year and I’m back for Spring! This year celebrates the 25th celebration of Ted Baker London and they’ve got some fun stuff planned.

For Spring 2013, Ted Baker London has launched a Finishing School. I loved this idea because I went to modelling school as a teenager, which was much like finishing school.

Under Ted’s orders we’re all in detention this week.

The first 500 lucky students to enter their line of the day through Twitter, Facebook or Instagram will receive a limited edition tote adorned with their line.

One student will be chosen and rewarded top of the class by a fashion blogger for especially creative and inspired entries. Prize for that is a beautiful leather satchel embossed with their initials. Inside my divine package was a brand new patent leather clutch with jewel enclosure. I love the little details in each item. If you pop into a store it’s definitely something to take note of.

The inside is the same as the purse I got over the holidays with the Ted Baker French bulldog print. I have this scarf too. I would love one of these little doggies one day. I’ve never had a dog.

Latest app in my photo collection is DBLCAM. Uses both front & back facing cameras to take one picture, tell both sides of the story. It’s free. I love using multiple apps to make creative images. I was making collages of my face and text LONG before apps like Diptic (collage) and Over (text). Learn about those apps by watching my show on Coral TV (iPhonography/Overgram). Filmed a couple new eps in the park today that’ll be released in the next few weeks. My show hits the internet airways each Friday afternoon at youtube.com/coral.

Watched Sixteen Candles last night. Love the style Molly has in the Brat Pack movies. I am going to go shopping this weekend and buying myself some new spring clothes. I’ve been cleaning out my closet and have a huge bag to take to the Salvo for donation. Spring cleaning feels so good.

View was looking pretty nice when I got home from work. I love daylight savings because it feels like getting done work an hour early. I watched the yellow eye of a storm move across the skyline for 20 minutes till the air was filled with hail.

It was a great day for mail too! Opened this lovely tea package from Tetley to find a magical little tea pot & cup for all my teas. Thank you!

Received a Fashion Week Survival kit from FLAUNT. Thanks guys! Totally unexpected and appreciated! It’s got fabric goodies, body tape, silicone nip covers for daring outfits, and an eye mask which I will use tonight. I’m ready for a good sleep.

The other day a bunch of us went out to Sensation, the launch for a massive house music thing this summer sponsored by Bud Light. It was at Andrew Richard Designs, one of my fav venues. I have seen it magically transformed so many different ways over the last few years. Thanks Becca and She Does the City for these pix.

I bet when you see this thing at a construction site near you the first thing that comes to mind is not shoes? It’s ok, I would have never thought that EITHER!

I own one pair of CAT boots (See: Stella in brown) that I’m wearing right now and have worn, walked, and biked in since they arrived in September. They might be the most comfortable boots I own.

I got that Super Bass: Bass Boomz Bluetooth Speaker

No, not Nikki! Although I did have a real heart on for that song when it came out. Keri and I played it on the repeater and danced in our jogging pants. Last week I was received this awesome little portable, bluetooth speaker. Took it to the hot tub lounge and hellooooo, it’s so loud. Sounds wicked!

Bass Boomz is the same company that sent me those wicked Swarovski headphones a couple months ago. They gave me a 50% discount you can use if you want to order a speaker (BBZ649103). On Valentines we went to the Hot Pop Factory’s first ever 3D Kissing Booth. I packaged up our print and gave it to my love for Valentines Day. They just posted the video. It was so fun. I love, love, love 3D printing. See other neat stuff they make in blog posts here and here.

Don’t be late to the meme!

You know what I’m talking about. If your boss comes up to you says something about the ‘harlem shake’ you better it’hope it’s not about doing one, or you might as well Gangnam Style right out of the office.

We posted a b-l-o-g at work written by Dylan about people coming late to the meme. It’s basically THE WORST thing you can do for your company, office, or brand. You risk being known as ‘behind the times’ forever.

When it comes to memes, either get on that bus early or don’t get on at all.

The viral video game is all about speed.

Going “viral” is a funny thing. You can’t know if your video will ever go viral. You can’t plan for it to go viral. You can’t predict it will go viral. You can’t guarantee it will, or force it to go viral. The only thing you can ever really know about a viral video is that its popularity has faded. Eventually, everything viral dies. Goes six feet under. Kicks the bucket. Buys the farm.

Time Travel, there’s an app for that.

This was at Ottawa Fashion Week after walking the runway wearing Rachel Sin for the closing celebrity show. SO much fun.

I totally remember taking this photo and laying in my bed with the sun on my face before going to work. I worked in Liberty Village for an online gaming & casino company. Made lots of good friends there. The thing I love most about his app it that it helps your memory. So many things happen in a day that it’s hard to keep track. I take a lot of photos and this app, keeps all my blog & social media memories alive.

Community Service

On Friday, March 1, some of the girls from Community Agency and I cleaned up Trinity Bellwoods Park over lunch. If you don’t know it, Bellwoods is in the heart of Queen West, between Strachan and Bathurst. It’s one of my fav places to hang out in the summer or bike through with friends. If you search ‘Bellwoods’ on my blog there are heaps of entries!

March 1st was YWCA’s Big Day of Change, a Canada-wide day of action for young women to do something good in their community. Friday this week is International Women’s Day (IWD), an annual commemoration that began in the early 1900s.

Our ‘Community Service’ was organized by my friend & Copy Writer Carlimia. She was featured on She Does The City earlier in the week with 12 women who organized events to make positive change. Thanks to Becca Lemire for snapping some shots too.

We had so much fun doing this together that we want to make Community (Agency) Service a regular thing. It felt so great to be outside in the sunshine at the park again. I can’t WAIt for Spring/Summer to be out in the warm air. Luckily daylight savings isn’t far away!

Do something nice for someone today. It will help you avoid a case of the Mondays. 🙂

CAA and Life-Side Assistance Savings for You

Last week I got a CAA membership and I’m pretttttty excited about it. Why you ask? Remember having an SPC card as a student? Well, a CAA Membership is kinda like one of those for adults. CAA offers Life-side assistance in the form of savings and rewards from heaps of partners in North America.

I’ve never owned a car but when I started driving my Mum had CAA memberships for both my sister and I. She didn’t feel safe with us on the road without knowing we had CAA, just in case something happened. You would not believe how many times it came in handy. I remember saying “It’s ok I have CAA” and getting a friends card towed, a boyfriends car towed, or saving the day when someone accidentally’ locked the keys in the car. (No not me, never!)

I really enjoy driving and having a CAA membership makes me feel safer, especially for long highway drives. Would have been great for our trip to Austin for SXSW last year! Doh.

Over the next couple weeks I’ll be sharing some of my shopping, dining, and entertainment savings that come with having a CAA Membership. I was honestly shocked to see just how many partners they have including a full service travel agency. I’ll be exploring that option in great detail.

Most of all I’m looking forward to shopping discounts at Gap & Banana Republic Factory stores, finally visiting the Ontario Science Centre, and taking my BF out for a dinner and a movie.

Big Brother where are thou? In Canada eh!

Last night I went to Slice TV/Shaw Media HQ for the premiere of Big Brother Canada. It’s the first time we’ve had our own season in Canada and people are going crazy over it. I watched one season religiously when I lived in Australia in 2004. I joined a bunch of media and seasoned BB Celebrity Dan Gheesling.

No i did not eat this slop! Gross. A cup of berries did me just fine.

There’s a great bar on the 16th floor lounge at Shaw media. I hope to go to more parties there.

There was a Head of House (HOH) competition and it was hilarious how sad the competition was. Aaaaaand hat’s all I’m gonna say about that!

I really hope this guy Peter wins. He’s already a YouTube star. I vote for the NERD!

It’s pretty crazy/fascinating that you can watch the housemates 24/7 online. I remember reading 1984 in high school and being really interested. Doesn’t surprise me at all that I’m on the Internet writing about my life over a decade later.

In other news, tonight is the Nella Bella Spring SS launch, then a party at ARD with Bud Light Platinum, and a Grey Goose Cherry Noir event at Bloke & 4th. Is it the weekend yet?!
