Can Your Goldfish Do The Backstroke? #PetSkills

Over the past few weeks I’ve been doing some work with Stage TEN tv. One of the first projects is a new show called Pet Skills, it’s a live, interactive show where pets audition, you vote, and they win prizes. I’m putting this out to YOU because I’d LOVE to see some of your pets on the show!

Email some info on your pet’s amazing skill to [email protected] and we’ll follow up to arrange your audition. You won’t have to leave the house to do it, the audition will be recorded on your handy smartphone/camera.

That’s all for now! Off to MOD CLUB for our 50 Shades show w/ Army of Sass. TBH, kinda nervous! You can get tickets at the door if you wanna come. It’s HOT!

With love,

CASIE

OMG High On Life! More Hours In The Day, Please?

This art is by mr. Brainwash. A good reminder that sometimes you may feel like you're going the wrong way with your crazy ideas but you should follow them, you have a strong imagination. It will guide you!

The last couple weeks have been kinda crazy and I’m feeling like there’s more where it all comes from. Last night’s rehearsal for Army of Sass was AWESOME. I’m stoked for our show. Are you coming? Get a ticket here.  I’m currently working on a slew of things including TWO shows. Ahhh! I feel like I’m constantly rushing around on high speed. I’m dreaming about opening the cottage and relaxing.

I’ve got something cool to share with you tomorrow. Tonight I’ve got a dinner with Converse and I’m really looking forward to it. Meeting my sister shortly to shoot something for an upcoming project. It’s like I’ve spent 10 years working my ass off to try and build something and I feel it’s finally coming together. Come Friday after the show I’ll be SO ready for a cocktail to celebrate this week.

Here’s to the crazy ones!

Travel Tuesday: Vacations Aren’t Just for Soaking Up Sun!

Travel Tuesday: Vacations Aren’t Just for Soaking Up Sun!

Dreaming of an experiential vacation – wine tasting in Italy, yoga in India, surfing in Costa Rica, visiting Lower Shotover New Zealand to go Bungee Jumping?

People often think of vacations as a jaunt away to soak up the sun but one way to REALLY enrich your life is a vacation where you learn something or take on a new experience. An RV vacation is a very popular choice for many people who want to go and see new sights and cultures from the comfort of their own vehicle. Those that do embark on such a vacation will want to make sure they have quality equipment, like Lifeline rv batteries, on board before doing so.

A couple years ago I went on a solo surf + yoga vacation to Costa Rica, it was so much fun. Visiting this country was on my bucket list and I had always wanted to tick it off. With this being said, if it wasn’t for a friend of mine recommending I checked out a site like https://små-lån.com (as she knew I was struggling financially), I don’t think this trip would have been possible, but I am glad that I was able to make this happen. While I was there, I learnt how to do aerial silks and perfected my wave riding skills in the ocean. This was the little cabin I stayed at in the jungle at Anamaya Resort.

In 2013, I ventured to Thailand and took a cooking class in one of my fav cuisines. I came home with new skills and a bright outlook on a different culture.

I recently chatted with TD Canada Trust about how to make an experiential vacation a reality. These types of vacations are often seen as more costly and harder to plan. BUT, if you knuckle down and plan it out, you can have the experiential vacation of your dreams. Today I’m sharing some tips on how to MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Screen Shot 2015-03-17 at 3.56.57 PM

According to their recent survey, 62% of Canadians are likely to consider going on an experiential vacation if they could find ways to save on costs. This is understandable, but it is not impossible to find good holiday deals. We don’t have to break the bank to visit another country. It may also be worth checking out these handy holiday saving tips to hopefully find a way to save for the trip of your dreams!

Fortunately, TD Canada Trust has tips on how to help make your experiential vacation affordable with travel loyalty rewards and/or creating a vacation savings account. It starts with knowing the full cost of the trip.

Screen Shot 2015-03-16 at 12.27.53 PM

Here’s something to think about from VP of TD Credit Cards, Christine Hunter:

“A lot of people think experiential vacations cost more than ordinary vacations, but that doesn’t have to be the case…. It all depends on where you want to go and what you want to do, but you can always find ways to help you save that could make your trip more affordable.”

On that note, my goal this year is to visit Paris, France for the first time and take a lesson in French cooking. Thanks TD Canada Trust for the tips because I think it’s about time I open a bank account for vacation saving.

To help take the financial stress out of vacation planning visit tdcanadatrust.com. Also, check out my last partnership with TD Canada Trust where I talk about Money Tips for Millennials. I’m here to help!

Windy Weather Forecast

Recorded this 6 years ago at the AGO in the Frank Gehry stairwell. I was standing in front of a fan. It was raining out. The wind whipping at my windows reminded me of this today.

Not sure what my fascination with the wind is but here’s another windy forecast. This was a pretty exciting day, #PIBTO, we had over 400 people buy the person in line behind them a coffee. Great memories. Anyone remember?

I have 75+ videos on my Vimeo channel. I think it’s about time to get making videos again. It’s been YEARS since.

Life as Art in the Beaches: #WarmingStations

My sister and I checked out the art installations in the beaches yesterday. So neat! They’re open till the 25th so you should pop down and check them out ASAP.

Also went to the Parkdale Flea Market and had this amazing cookie. There’s an Oreo in the middle!

On Friday I met up with artist/designer/photographer Ibraheem Youssef for a portrait session in his Portraits by IB collection. I took him through my internet and creativity fuelled, hyper connected reality.  We did a quick Meerkat livestream at Jimmy’s coffee then popped into graffiti alley, Queen West to capture a video in the sunshine.

Sunday Magazine Selection: Wired, W, HouseBeautiful

Sunday Magazine Selection: Wired, W, HouseBeautiful

The sun is shining, and I’m gonna head outside, make the most of the day. Spent the morning finishing up House of Cards Season 3 and reading magazines. I won’t share any spoilers but man I really love that show. Clair Underwood (played by Robin Wright) is amazing.

I remember doing a magazine review a few years ago (2011) and putting a little cut out of my face on the magazine, funny.

Finished S1 of Transparent on Shomi today. Good show. The music is really great.

I’ve added NextIssue added to my weekend relaxation routine since starting the trial last month. I love reading magazines but buying a whole stack is 1) heavy and 2) expensive. This morning I  read Wired, W Magazine, and HouseBeautiful. I’ve been given a code from NextIssue that allows you to get free 60-day trial of the app too.

Download NextIssue – Easy as 1,2,3!

  1. Click here -> bit.ly/1EaIH3L
  2. Enter code 60Free

I love scar Jo’s hair right now and am still on that mission to grow mine out. Now that I made it through House of Cards without being influenced by Claire’s hair, I feel I’ll make it to a bob no problem.

This *slight* winter warmup has be thinking about the cottage and what we can do this spring to make some changes around there. We’re building a new deck and I’d love to get some new patio furniture and curtains. There’s so many great design ideas out there. I’d love to get my sewing machine in action and actually MAKE new curtains for the cottage.

These lamps are lovely. I’m sure there’s a Pinterest on how to do this in detail.

It’s been ages since I made anything but I really want to this spring. (I feel like I say this every single year but this time I mean it!) Maxi dresses, skirts, slip dresses. I really need to work on spring cleaning the house and spend less time on the Internet! I was so excited that Lilly for Target was coming to Canada but now that there’s no Target, I’m determined to create some things myself!

Bring on Spring!

Garden Party! Ted Baker London SS15 Preview at Casa Loma

Garden Party! Ted Baker London SS15 Preview at Casa Loma

Last night I went to Toronto’s castle to check out the Spring/Summer 2015 collection from Ted Baker London. I love Casa Loma, it’s especially beautiful at magic hour or in the summer (great garden out back!).

These are one of my latest pairs of shades from Polette Eyewear in France. Polette is an online optician, a leader on the French market, glasses are made-man, and come in a various material (wood, hand-polished acetate, plastic, metal). These are the Monroe. The Monroe Apple has purple mirrored lenses and light green frames! Looooove.

The Conservatory inside Casa Loma was decked out like a beautiful garden party complete with a string quartette playing pop songs.  You’ll have to believe me because I accidentally deleted the Vine I made.

More gorgeous prints are coming to a Ted Baker London store near you. In the GTA there’s stores at both Yorkdale Mall and the Eaton Centre.

I would like to make a flower wall like this too.

Love these colours and this peach bag. I have the FW2014 version in Candy Apple Red.

One of the things I love about the Ted Baker London brand is the attention to details. Ted is alllllll about the details. The clothes were beautiful and the food was great too. We had deep fried asparagus, candy sushi, ahi tuna, and my fav was a tiny little beef cupcake.

BANANA PHONE! Ok, that’s all for now, off to DX3 conference and then Stage TEN TV to talk about making shows. Stopping by  the Lacoste SS15 preview to wrap up the workday.

Sending sunshine your way! 🙂

Fraud Protection Month + Keeping Your Money Safe

March is Fraud Protection Month in Canada and last week over dinner w/ a few other bloggers  I learned all the ways Interac is keeping your money safe.

Back in 2009, fraud from card skimming resulted in $142-million in losses and as  of 2014, $16.2 million. That’s over $125 million not lost on debit card fraud! Chip technology is making it hard for criminals so they’re moving away from Interac fraud. Yahooo!

The Facts on Interac

Here’s a breakdown on some of the things I learned and find most interesting.

When you use Interac online to make a purchase, none of your financial details, card numbers, or login info are shared with the retailer/third party. If something goes wrong, you aren’t liable for losses resulting from circumstances beyond your control related to the payment. So, go ahead and spend your hard earned money without worrying you’ll be compromised.

I was kinda worried about Interac Flash (tap to pay) not being secure but it’s SO CONVENIENT I was happy to learn it’s secure. A single transaction can’t exceed $100 and you’ll be asked for PIN if it’s over.  There’s also a cumulative limit for Interac Flash transactions. When your limit is reached n(ex. $200), you’ll be asked to insert your card and PIN. This resets your limit

At interac.ca/en/securityInterac gives you security facts and myths. The more we all know about this stuff the better, keeping your money safe and in your bank (or in your closet!) is important.

Canadians 35 and younger (millenials yo!) are less concerned about payments-related fraud. The main thing to remember is that Interac fraud is on the decline! Check out the #FPM2015 hashtag to learn more about Fraud Protection Month visit interac.ca for more info.

I Can Do Anything. I Can.

I wrote this years ago and just found it and that’s why I love having a blog.

I don’t think I’ll ever stop blogging. It’s been 10 years. I’ve written so many things. I can hardly believe so much has happened in that time. I think bloggers have to love their blogs. You spend so much time there, blogging. It’s a collection of stories and photos. Happiness, reminders, lessons, friendships. Trips around the world and my old hometown.

I’m going to blog forever.  It’s the best thing I thing I’ve ever done.

@livingselfish @casiestewart

Now that spring is around the corner you can count on me mention it almost once a day. I can’t wait. A little warm up in the weather and there’s smiles all around. Love this Michael Kors skirt for Spring 2015.

I’ve been creating a story on the Selfish app  Storia App with a few of my fav things from fashion weeks, magazines, and around the web. Check it out hereCim Cim has joined and added a few beauties, I’d love you to join too.

I’ve been building a few other stories including Lights, Camera, ACTION!,  #NailGame, Netflix Addict, and Travel Adventures. I’m about ready to start up a Cottage Life story! Only a couple weeks till spring is fully here! 🙂

Did you hear that Zoolander 2 is on it’s way? Here’s a look at what went down during the Valentino show at Paris fashion week today.

Here’s a few of my fav shows from the past week in Paris. Chanel always has a great show, brings something different to the traditional runway show.

These gold pants tho. Love.

Daylight, Saving Grace, Feel That Sun Upon Your Face

Flowers for you from @casiestewart

Started the day bright with a nice little brekky in our home office. I do social media coaching and consulting aside from my blog so the morning is when I check those appts off my list.  My love for granola is still going strong. I need to get some good running shoes. I’m ready to hit the pavement again too. I love daylight savings spring forward.

That sun, feels so nice. Warm air, free hair. This photo has a couple ‘Sia’ comments on IG. Busted out the leather this weekend and threw on a fur vest. Anything to ditch the old winter jacket! Glasses are from Polette Eyewear in France, jacket Rudsak.

Had lunch w/ April in Kensington. So bright and colourful round there.

Went to buy her some flowers and realized I forgot my wallet. Thank heavens for Uber being connected to my card so I could pay by phone. Have I mentioned my excitement about mobile payments coming soon? Learned about it a bit in a dinner with Interac last week for Fraud Protection Month. Read the post here.

I think I’ll do a bit more work and head out for a walk since we’ve got more daylight today. It’s amazing the motivation that comes from a little sunshine. Take it where every you go 🙂

Wanna Earn Free Leafs tickets? Follow @TheFordFanatic :)

I usually get to one NHL hockey game per year. This season I’m taking Sean thanks to MLSE & The Ford Fanatic. I love going to the see the Leafs play and I hardly ever remember who wins. My friends and I often go to Leafs as I said, I try to go to at least on NHL hockey game per year, and sometimes we find it exciting to make up our own fantasy hockey teams to see who would win, so being able to see this game was an amazing opportunity to share this with him. This year, Ford Canada has partnered with the Leafs to help #fansgofurther. To date, between MLSE and Ford through the FordFANatic, approximately 4,800 tickets have been awarded to fans for 24 home games. I love it!

How you can earn free Leafs Games tickets

The purpose of the program is to engage, surprise and delight fans in a season-long program awarding positivity and passion both online and off . Fans have the opportunity to earn tickets and watch a game in the Ford Fan Deck. Follow @TheFordFanatic and take part in their weekly challenge. There’s still a few weeks left in the season. Official R&R of the contest can be found here.

Behind the Twitter handle is Sarah D. and she’s been a Leafs fan as long as she remembers. Being Canadian, it’s in her blood. Growing up in rural Nova Scotia, Sarah and her peers cheered for any of the original 6 teams but, Sarah’s cheers have always been for the Leafs. Sarah was 18 when she first saw the Leafs play, when she came to Toronto to see a pre-season game. She remembers it as one of the most surreal experiences of her life, being able to see Darcy Tucker fight someone right in front of her, got her hooked for life!

My first game was when I was 16 and won tickets to see a game after Darryl Sittler presented me with the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Cambridge. Drove to Toronto with mum and a family friend, we saw a game at Maple Leaf Gardens. I have such fond memories of that day.

To win tickets to a game before the 2015 season is over, follow @TheFordFanatic and take part in their weekly challenge. I’ll be at a game on the 31st of March. Will be spring by then!

Distracted Driving is a Modern Problem

Distracted Driving is a Modern Problem

Last week I mentioned the OneTap app in a post along with the importance of NOT texting while driving. If you have an Android phone, download this app right now. Think of the olden days when people drove around without distraction of a mobile phone, then think about now…so many distractions. Even the smallest things like a sputter from your car can cause distractions! If your car is very loud and splutters all the time, you might want to soundproof your car. It will stop distractions from your car that the OneTap can’t prevent as well as making conversations inside the car much easier. Now, soundproofing your car doesn’t have to be expensive either, as long as you get it from the right place.

Screen Shot 2015-03-05 at 4.07.38 PM

OneTap is an app that keeps drivers focussed on the road. I know updates can be distracting (my phone is buzzing all day!) but there’s no text, email, tweet, or status update worth risking your life. Looking at these texting and driving statistics should be enough to make you realise this, as there are a shocking number of accidents that happen as a result of it, and I’m sure those involved would turn back time in an instant and put their phone away before turning on their engine. All kinds of small distractions can be so easily avoided. When you look away from the road it’s like driving blind and an accident can happen in a split second, which could end badly for everyone involved, it might end with you being charged with something like vehicular homicide and requiring the help of someone like these criminal attorneys to take on your case.

Key features of OneTap App

• Prevent distractions from calls, texts and alerts
• Activate manually, or let it detect when you’re driving and turn on automatically
• Easily review collected alerts when you arrive at your destination
• Track your driving habits and be safer behind the wheel
• Keep on eye on your family’s distracted driving
• Send and receive urgent calls and messages—OneTap will notify you when you should pull over to receive an important message

Screen Shot 2015-03-05 at 4.40.34 PM

Download OneTap here and I’ll keep you posted as soon as it’s available for iPhone!

DRIVE SAFE and keep your eyes on the road!

Days Go By and Still I Think of You

Hello darlings! Feeling fresh today with my new hair. Got bangs. Going for that Sia look. House of Cards has me teetering on the cut/grow hair situation and today I’m back to growing it. This is the awkward stage so I’m trying my best to make it through. If I can hold out a couple more months, I’ll be fine!

Had an awesome rehearsal for Army of Sass last night. I can’t WAIT till the show. I will have tickets in about a week.

I’ve had morning meetings and appts all week and today is my first morning dedicated to blogging. I’m about to make a nice brekky and catch up on the Y&R. Yes, I STILL watch it!

Got new glasses by Derek Cardigan from Clearly Contacts and have a contest launching later today. If you’re interested in my sweet Carrera Marble laptop skin you can get one here. I make a small commission from each sale so if you do buy one, THANK YOU. This Wes Anderson book Sean picked up is so awesome.

Ok, back to the drawing blogging board! Have an GREAT DAY. Enjoy that sunshine! ☀️

* I’ve always loved this song/video!

Grey Winter Mess, March Mehhh

Welcome to the ugly part of winter. Slush, grey, gross. No shoes look good in this weather, even your gum boots, no matter how stylish are full of salt and stains. Broke out this old military style jacket because after a few months of the other winter warmies, I need a change. How long till spring again?

Thanks Starbucks Canada for the sweet gift, used it to buy a bunch of their new pastries from La Boulange.

Had my hair done at The Loft Toronto today to take out the pink/purple. I absolutely love this salon. The whole place has a vintage feel and the plate wall makes me happy every time I walk through the door.

Rushing from the 1188 office to a dinner meeting, then burlesque. Our show is coming up and I’ll have tickets soon!

More updates tomorrow, for now, gotta run!

Converse | Every Pair of Chucks is Unique

Converse | Every Pair of Chucks is Unique

Yesterday  Converse announced the global launch of “Made by you”,  a campaign celebrating fans of the brand (like ME!) who have been expressing themselves and their creativity in Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers for nearly 100 years. I’ll have more to share about this cool campaign and how I’m part of it. See my oldest pair vs. my newest pair of Chucks after the video.

Six Word Story: “We’ve been around the world together.”

These are my oldest pair, got them at Uni in Australia and have worn them in heaps of countries since. My friend worked at the shoe store in Bondi Beach and we wore Chucks everyday. I drew all over them, I drew all over everything back then. They say ‘Cas&Shazz’ on one side (my first fashion brand), creativity, courage, vav hey vav (Kabbalah reference here), and my friend wrote SLAYER. So many memories. I have about 20 pairs now.

Converse Chuck Taylor: Did you know…

  • The Chuck Taylor All Star is the most legendary and iconic sneaker of all time.  Over 1 Billion Pairs sold
  • Worn by creative minds throughout the decades, the Chuck Taylor All Star was adopted by the music, fashion and art world as a badge of self-expression
  • The Iconic sneaker has been used as a blank canvas by some of the most innovative fashion designers such as Maison Martin Margiela, Commes Des Garcon, Missoni and John Varvatos
  • Chuck Taylor All Star is more than a sneaker, it’s an idea.  A powerful message that is a blank canvas waiting to be filled.

These are my LATEST Chucks, the limited edition Andy Warhol. I was hoping for the red Tomato Soup ones but there weren’t any in my size when I was sent these ones in advance last month. I’ve got my secret agent at Converse on the hunt for a pair though!

Hope you’re enjoying the day. I’m about to venture outside where it’s crazy snowing. WHEN WILL IT END!

Travel | Nuit Blanche à Montréal

ZIPLINE, MONTREAL, TRAVEL, TOURISM, CASIESTEWART

This weekend Sean and I went to Montreal as you know. It was a short but fun trip. I love Montreal and even though we were gone and back within 24 hours, a getaway is always nice. Here’s a little sneak peek of what we got up to!

Only packed one small Sully Wong overnight bag for the trip. I’ve become a master at packing lite!

It’s quite lovely taking the Via Rail in the daytime. We sat at the front of our car and were able to experience the beautiful trip in the sunshine.  The sun was so bright the car was heating up, it felt like summer!

There’s wifi on the train so we were able to get a bunch of work done. Sean’s beard is getting so big!

Huge thank you to Fairmont Montreal for all the treats they sent to our room. A bowl of fresh fruit and a card arrived just after we checked in.  We popped over to the Apple Store to pick up a HDMI cable so we could watch some House of Cards and plan our night.

Next they sent a gift bag with our media passes and some delicious chocolate treats from a French patisserie.

We stopped into a church on rue Sainte-Catherine for a poetry reading in the pews before heading to Place des Arts to see all the action.

There was heaps going on! We walked through a couple domed filled with winter activites before heading up the stairs to try the ZIPLINE. It was longer than I thought and went over the entire crowd at Place des Arts. Huge thanks to Montreal tourism for the media passes because we were able to skip the line!

IMG_0226.JPG IMG_0215.JPG

IMG_0218.JPG

Nuit Blanche Montreal was definitely a different experience than Toronto but one not to miss. It wasn’t too cold once you got outside and heading from one place to the next. We had heaps of fun cruising the streets and checking out all the different activities. There were over 200 events taking place that night and we only got to see the tip of the iceberg. Check out all the activities at montrealenlumiere.com.

Thank you Tourismé Montreal, Via Rail, and Fairmont Montreal for sending us on an adventure. Can’t wait to get back to Montreal this summer and experience activities in the sunshine!

Montreal | Hi-Speed Blogging in the Sunshine at 90MPH

Toronto > Montreal | Hi-Speed Blogging in the Sunshine at 90MPH

This week was a busy one and I’m looking forward to a nice sleep at the Fairmont Montreal tonight. We’re on the train heading to Montreal for Nuit Blanche and thanks to Montreal Tourism.

Remember that contest I entered and a bunch of you guys helped me fill the train? I didn’t win the contest but they invited me to come along for the ride and experience Nuit Blanche Montreal.

Bae working away, looking all cute.

Earlier this week I was working form the new 1188 Films office and dressed the place up with some spring flowers.  There’s 8 days until daylight savings, if you;re counting down like me.

This is the before face of going through the worst pain I have felt in my entire life. I’ve been having high blood pressure along with those chest pains I mentioned so I’m unable to take my old contraceptive and got a IUD. I wasn’t expecting it to be so painful and felt nauseous after, it was brutal. Good thing it’s a five year plan. I’m thankful my doc was so lovely and took great care.

Lucky for me, House of Cards is BACk so we binged a couple episodes last night while I was in recovery. Much better today and back to my regular bouncy self. Claire Underwood, I love you. Maybe I should keep short hair? This internal ‘cut it or grow it’ battle never ends.

We’re on the train for 4 hours, currently going aboout 90MPH. I’m glad to have NextIssue and will be reading magazines once I hit publish. I’ve been reading magazines I never used to buy since I’ve got them all at my fingertips now (Nylon, More, Condé Nast Traveller, Dwell).

This cover of Vanity Fair is awkward, no? Loving the images in Condé Nast Traveller. Makes me want to just pack my bags, sell my stuff, and travel the world! The digital reading experience is so neat and full of extra content you don’t get in a traditional paper magazine.

You can download NextIssue here and give it a try for 60 days free w/ code ’60Free’. Some weekend reading ideas below. Saveur is next on my reading list.

Screen Shot 2015-02-28 at 11.56.21 AM

I’d like to send a HUGE thank you to Netflix for letting me now Mean Girls is NOW ON NETFLIX IN CANADA. They sent a little handwritten style note with the shirt below.  Loved coming home to this yesterday.

Another thank you to Charming Media and Skechers for the new kicks. TBH I hadn’t thought about wearing Skechers since the height of Britney Spears days but these little runners are really comfortable. They’ve got memory foam and and very light. A good reminder that spring is around the corner and I should have been be working on my beach body Anyhoo, I’ll be putting these to work after the weekend.

Make sure you’re following me on Twitter and Instagram @casiestewart, I’ll be posting heaps over the next 24 hours!

With love from a Via Rail train on Telus mobile wifi, we just passed Kingston and the sun is shining nice and bright. So bright in fact that it feels like summer in my seat. Love it!

I’m a little bit late the game with this but it’s still February and there’s always time for LOOOVE!

Earlier this month Lauren and I were featured in the latest lookbook for Le Chateau. This was especially fun for me since I used to work there back in high school, Fairview Park Mall in Kitchener FTW!

Le Chateau gathered some of their favourite Toronto media, had us pick outfits, and scheduled a shoot day to capture the love. Ours is BFF love obviously.  See the whole gang in this post by She Does The City or on the Le Chateau blog.

We had heaps of fun shooting! Lau and I have been having our photos taken together for years so we’re ready to roll as soon as the camera is on. We picked the same necklace and gloves without even knowing. We planned the same hats in different colours. Dressing the same as your bff is really fun.

I loved the cuteness in Daniel and Julio’s photos. All the love! Find them on Twitter at @DoTheDaniel and @Fashionights.

No matter what you’re doing, do it with style.

No matter what you’re doing, do it with style.

I can’t express enough how writing a blog is like therapy for the soul. Also cheaper than a therapist! You help yourself by writing it, and being able to look back helps you move forward. I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed but overall excited about things I’m working on. February is aways the most difficuly month, it’s so cold and SAD.  It’s not always rainbows and butterflies over here! I’m a real human. 🙂

This is my life…

Was at St. Michaels hospital yesterday, I thought the hallway looked nice. Have had some chest pains the last while so trying to figure out what’s going on is one of my latest missions.

Had an X-Ray the other day and was referred to a special clinic to book an ultrasound. Hospital gown chic.

Remember, no matter what you’re doing, do it with style.

A couple weeks ago I was on set at a Toronto studio w/ Canadian jewellery designer Sally Han of Shop for Jayu. Last summer Sally and I exchanged emails about their first look book and I wasn’t available to take part at the time but this round I was. We had heaps of fun on the full day shoot and I’m happy to share the final product!

For my looks I went with, ‘Glamour Calling’, inspired by big hair and bright colours a là 1992, and ‘Vintage Traveller’ inspired by Twiggy & Pan Am Air in the ’60’s, with a bit of Edie Swgwick.

The other bloggers featured are Jodi Blk in monochrome and Victoria Simpson from Haute Canada in with the pink balloons (and the legs!).

Here’s a behind the scenes video by David Sztrimbley and a peek at the lookbook. See the whole thing here and check out the latest collection at shopforjayu.com.

End Distracted Driving with #JustOneTap

End Distracted Driving with #JustOneTap

I’m not gonna to lie, I’ve texted while driving. Even worse, been stuck in traffic and taken photos. I’m sorry, it’s not ok and we are all guilty of it. I’ve made a point to put my phone out of reach or on the passenger seat. I know that if I get caught that I could get in trouble and have to attend an online traffic school or worse, get into an accident. That is something I’m sure no one wants. I know I don’t. Distracted driving is one of the main causes of accidents and if you’ve been involved in once recently you should contact an Accident claims specialist. There are plenty of lawyers out there that you can use, so you won’t struggle to find the right one for you. If you are unsure about who to use, then it might be a good idea to check out a law firm like lamber goodnow to give you a better idea of what sort of law firm you should use.

Distracted driving is a HUGE PROBLEM and a Canadian-owned, Calgary-based startup has an app for that. AppColony has developed OneTap, a brand-new, free app for Android phones ( IOS version coming soon!) designed to help end distracted driving in Canada. They surveyed Canadians and found some statistics we can’t ignore.

OneTap automatically senses when a user is driving and blocks out unnecessary distractions, while allowing you to stay connected. Even though you can just contact someone like this springfield il car accident attorney if you do get into a crash, it’s obviously better to avoid it altogether, not just to help decrease your own stress levels but also in case someone gets hurt. This tech is a brilliant potential solution to this ongoing issue.

FEATURES • Prevent distractions from calls, texts and alerts • Activate manually, or let it detect when you're driving and turn on automatically • Easily review collected alerts when you arrive at your destination • Track your driving habits and be safer behind the wheel • Keep on eye on your family's distracted driving • Send and receive urgent calls and messages-OneTap will notify you when you should pull over to receive an important message

For more information on the app visit getonetap.com, watch the video below, and download from the Google Play store here. I’ll keep you posted for when the iOS version is released.

Recently, Toronto Police used a hearse to drive home the issue of distracted driving. In the last four years, Toronto officers have laid more than 82,000 charges for offences related to distracted driving (source). THIS IS SERIOUS STUFF GUYS, PUT DOWN YOUR PHONES.

Be safe on the roads out there and please, please don’t text and drive! There’s no message, or social update more important than your life.

One of The Great Things About Monday Is…

When It Is Dark

I know that Monday feeling, back to work, especially in -40 with windchill weather can be a real downer. BUT one of the great things about Monday is it’s the start of a new week and you never know what the next 5 days will bring.

I always find myself looking at the world/into my computer screen with wonder and excitement. Not knowing what emails about coming your way, who’s been creeping your socils profiles, what the world has in store for you. So, keep your head up, put a smile on your face, and greet the world with s sense of wonder and opportunity will come your way.

his weekend I recieved a link to a short film by kate Yorks that I was a PA on about 2 years ago. It’s now online! It’s been shows at a few film festivals in North America. You can watch below. Great job 1188 (Sean’s company) and congrats Kate!

Couch, Kleenex, Sneezing, Blarghhh, I’m So Sick

Couch, Kleenex, Sneezing, Blarghhh, I'm So Sick

I have the worst cold, I’m so sick. I feel like hell. Sneezing every couple minutes and the amount of kleenex I’ve gone through today alone is disgusting. I’ll be staying inside all weekend and recharging my batteries.

Valentine roses are still looking pretty.

Went to the Artist Project last night and it’s really cool. It’s on all weekend, definitely worth checking out.

Can’t write anything today. Can’t think. Ordered some spicy takeout and am drinking heaps of water. Pretty glad to have this week’s episodes of Y&R on PVR. There’s nothing I’d rather watch right now!

#TBT Thailand: Panoramic Views of Somewhere Warmer Than Here

#TBT Thailand: Panoramic Views of Somewhere Warmer Than Here

Came across these photos on my phone and forgot I even took them. I love how panoramic photos capture a time and place. Fond memories. These were all taken on my trip to Thailand just over a year ago with Contiki Canada. They took 17 of Canada’s top content creators on the trip of a lifetime. We had so much fun. these photos were taken in Bangkok, Chaing Mai, Koh Tao, and Koh Samui. Go back in time and relive my trip in posts tagged Thailand.

I would absolutely love to be somewhere warm right now but have too much going on to drop it all and get away. So, instead I’ve cranked the heat and dehumidifier and am sharing  travel photos. Enjoy!
