awesome. happy friday. bon weekend. * thanks to @ibarr for Tweeting it
Borrowed from my myspace blog and written in 2004. I had a bad house guest and was kinda bothered by it… Thank you so much for coming. Let me take your coat. Would you like a drink? You’re welcome and yes thank you so much for coming. Chat away. Smile, nod, agree, nod. Yes. No. Of course. Now, are you hungry, should I make something? Another drink? You’re welcome. Would you rather I take you out? Feed you. Bathe you. Tuck you in, in my warm little bed, and rock you baby, right to fucking sleep. The sun rises yet you are not awake. You want coffee? You want breakfast? You want, and need, and need more wanting. Oh, yes it is lunch. Are you hungry now? Do you need something from me? I want a fucking break. You need too much attention for my short attention span. Do you need to need me to do things all the time or can you do it your fucking self? Can you just go back home to your own house ? You have overstayed your welcome. Yes. You’re welcome. Now go and make yourself a nice fucking day.
Something funny happened last night. Was chatting with friend and fellow top blogger Sean Ward before he went on a radio show. I listened to him do live prank calls on the radio for a live audience. I’ve never listened to such a thing and I almost peed my pants with laughter. Nice work. Created some new blogs last night, good things in the works. Been really creative lately. I really wnat to share but they need some work before coming out. Went to the indy cars at lunch. Made a video for Dad. He took us when we were young and I’ve loved it ever since. The sound of the engine flying…I love. One year I got to go in the pits and meet some drivers at the Indy. It was the best Indy experience ever. It was years ago when it was sponsored by Molson and a bigger deal I think, well, to me at least. I was about 18 years old. Haven’t gone since but still I love the sounds. this ones for dad from Casie Stewart on Vimeo.
In case you were wondering, or if you weren’t, I’m gonna tell you anyways.. I’m still vibrating my eyelashes every morning with the Maybelline mascara. The mascara is really quite good. Been a while since I actually liked one for the product vs. the price. Smelling ever so sexy in Givenchy Play. Play comes out in August and features Justin Timberlake in sexy photos. Maybe you remember my sexy ones to match? I’ve got a new pair of prescription glasses on the way from Glasses USA thank-you-very-much. Black rimmed ones like an old man but good for a young lady. Tomorrow night is #Genyto at the London Tap house downtown. I’m looking forward to seeing smiling faces like the ones in this photo of @kathrynboland,@rlangdon, @MichelSavoie & @kevrichard . There will be lots of cool kids there. It’s Rayanne’s birthday too so look the fuck out. Someone on Twitter just said I look like Toni Collette bur more bitchin’. That’s hot.
Finished up the day with some work writing, always nice. Biked home. Changed out of the white dress, felt a raindrop on my face. Got to Wired Wednesday in time to say a few hello’s to familiar faces and get a seat close to Saul. Learned about Zoompass, BrandMentions Brand Tracker, backtweets, yoono and saw the babes form Scribblelive. Lots of cool people and good ideas. I learned stuff and I like that. Looking forward to seeing many of those beautiful faces Friday for GenYTO. A hot 12 inch sub and I sat down at the computer. Opened email, RSS reader and started reading a post from How to Make My Blog. That lead to new tabs and my internet excursion. I’m just getting in to backtype now; seeing all my comments and searching my name through the interwebs seeing what’s out there. Out There: a marketing & pr agency I made up in Entrepreneurship class in hignschool. Got a good mark. Mum will remember. Been thinking about L.A. lots lately, California in general. Made a new friend at the LA Times. Traveled deep into the internet on the couch finding new things and blogs last night. Didn’t stay up too late, got a good sleep. Had a nice date with myself.
I was biking home on Monday night and stopped to the side of the road before crossing the street. I was feeling sad that day and then double sad I didn’t have a ticket to my favorite show. My ringer was off but I reached for my phone to have a peek. Karrera was calling that exact minute and she had an extra ticket. I’ve seen John Butler in Toronto a few times since my first time in Sydney 2004. The crowd was so into this show and we all watched with amazement while sweating our asses off. Good vibes in the air. It’s his solo tour and I was thinking I would miss his long dreds and the stand up bass. I didn’t, he over satisfied my need for good music. I have so many videos and photos. The opening act was Nicky Bomba, also totally wicked and Australian. Karrera is moving to BC today. She had just gotten back that day from seeing all kinds of bands for a week at Rothbury Fest. ZAAmazing stories about Grateful Dead and Willie Nelson. I hadn’t seen Lisa Baker in ages, I miss her. We’ve all been friend since we were kiddios. Thought of her the day before when Now & Then came on before bed. Coincidence, no. Ocean is my favorite song. I made about 5 videos while he was playing, the song is long and beautiful. There’s some more videos here. If you’ve never heard of John Butler you…

Post was updated as the memortial was on ok… Starts in about an hour and a half. Watching live on CNN. They expect the MJ Fan page to go over 7 million after today. I wanted to get in on the live stream early. Heard rumors the memorial might break the internet! Ok, it’s started now. By the looks of Twitter, it’s the only thing happening in the world right now. Good one MJ. Nice work. By the way sleeveface.com. Totally hilarious…
Rode against the wind the whole time and my hair is frizzy like Andy Warhol. My teeth hurt from wearing my retainer. I don’t mind because they are so straight when I wake up. I haven’t dealt with death that much, lucky me I guess. My family is all in New Zealand so if someone passes, I’m not there to be with them. That’s unlucky. My high school had a really high suicide rate. Yesterday Martin Streek, my fav man at the Edge called it quits. I saw Shane‘s Facebook and was shocked when I read his blog and got the story. I used to run into Martin and his smiling face often. We made friends one summer. My most fond memories are the summer days when Jenie and I used to go down to The Edge and hangout out with him while he did the Thursday 30. It was so much fun, as soon as he saw our faces he would say ‘OMG, it’s the Stewart Sisters, you guys are so hot’ . We’d give hugs & hang. He was always full of smiles and jokes. I’ve gotta find the photos now, I think I know where they are. He will be missed by me, was always my favorite man on the radio. I remember the Jager tattoo, he was really fit for his age. Nice eyes too. Rest in peace my friend. FYI: There’s Martin Streek nooner on the Edge today. I’m listening live. ♥
I was connecting to the lyrics this morning and fighting a wave of sadness. Coffee, double latte. The office was freezing as I took off my sweater to cover my legs under my desk. ‘Be productive and you’ll get distracted’ I told myself. I listened to my blip station, starting on the second page after the Michael Jackson. Wasn’t in the mood for him today, started with Pretty Young Thing but it didn’t work like it usually does. ‘Get on your bike and ride around at lunch’, I tell myself, ‘that always works’. It did. I ran into a friend who joined me for a sit and chat in the park before I headed out on a Liberty Village tour. It was lovely. My hair‘s not pink anymore, it has a peach slice in it now. I got peanut butter cookie mix and Cheerios. I hate buying groceries. I never know what to get and I always think I don’t like anything, but I do. I love cooking but hate groceries. I like to make things up with whats around the house. Creative cooking. Had a creative weekend, enjoying the flow that comes with a new sketchbook. Came up with a good idea at lunch today. Ran into Golly on my way back. We met last year and I wrote a cover story about him in an arts & business magazine. He’s a positive soul, cheered me right up. I’m really looking forward to the TV lineup tonight. It’s one…
Twits Mag Canada is an online magazine dedicated to all Canadians on Twitter and they just did a story on ME. You can read it here: Me and Twitter: Casie Stewart – The Twitaholic. Don’t be shy to leave comments on their site or mine. Have a great day! “She blogs, she blogs and blogs and… she works full time. She’s busy, that’s what she says, but she’s still got a lot of energy and would be bored if she wasn’t doing stuff all the time.”
I’m watching American Beauty…for the second time today. I love this movie. It’s creepy and yet I find the story so captivating that when it came on again, I didn’t change the channel. It’s brilliant. I have two favorite parts beside the girls dance with the roses and the music. I like when Angela says “OMG, you like totally love him, you wanna have like a million of his babies”. Later, Jane says “Well, I guess I’m not a very nice girl than am I”, I like that part. Had the sketch book out. Drew a unique interpretation of the creepy video camera guys room. The room with all the videos and the white walls. He’s weird and I like him. Cooked up some chicken soup from scratch yesterday. You’d be proud Mum, turned out great. It was spinning in this photo. I love cooking and baking. Haven’t been in the kitchen much lately, should do something about that really. Now & Then just came on, reminds me of grade 8 and Lisa Baker. Stunningly beautiful video of Niagara Falls in motion, all time lapse photos. Very cool.
It’s one of those good days. Sitting with the girls watching reruns of Sex and the City on DVD. The four of them are so comforting, like home made chicken soup. Made some of that yesterday afternoon, dinner tonight. I’m watching Season Two, Miranda is not at her hottest and Carrie still smokes. She just started therapy. Every time I tell Dad I’m watching SATC he asks ‘out which window?’. He’s really funny, my Dad. Had a nice dinner at the Gladstone last night. Deep fried Brie, amazing. Saw fireworks in the sky from Queen West over the lake. They were at Ontario Place but i’m not sure why, July 4th maybe? This guy was wearing a headset and on the front he had a sign that said cheap and on the back easy. Unique characters on Ossington in the night. It’s lovely outside and I’m gonna enjoy it. I love lazy Sunday. My sister and friends are on their way for pool party. Hangout out with Jenie is the best, she makes me the most happy.
