Everyone talks about the weather, but no one does anything about it.

It’s hard to deny the fact that we might be facing snow today. Actually, it IS fact and there is nothing I can do about it. Title is a quote by Mark Twain which I’m sure you knew already. When ever someone complains about the weather, this quote runs through my head until I can’t hear them anymore. There’s no point in complaining! I reckon it’s my last chance to don my favourite winter wear and go to bed early (aka hibernate).

The sky looks grey and gloomy. I’m brewing up a sage tea to gargle with for the sore throat I woke up with. I managed to avoid getting sick all winter but alas, I am a mere mortal and it got me. Here’s  Mum’s sage tea remedy for sore throat and thyme bath for colds.

THIS IS WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT!

Found these old photos of Mum & Dad. Where exactly is this one with the CN tower. I think it’s right near my place?

Turned my living room into a DIY studio and made a few accessories.

My BFF Keri Blog came back to town yesterday. I’M SO GLAD SHE’S BACK. We watched the show Rogers did on me last month. I can’t wait to show you once I get it online.

I’m at FITC (Future. Innovation. Technology. Creativity.) this week from Mon-Wed. The conference features over 70 renowned digital creators from around the globe sharing knowledge of the best and brightest in the digital space. It’s my second year as a Digital Corespondent for TAXI, one of the worlds leading creative agencies. See last year’s writeup on designtaxi.com and this blog.

Planning to put on my glasses & nerdy disguise to soak up as much info as I can. It’s going to be a couple quiet days while I get my voice back and kick this cold. I stayed in all weekend with a movie marathon trying to recharge my batteries but it seems my body is telling me to chill out. I guess it’s a good thing summer isn’t quite here yet.

Have an awesome day 🙂

P.S. Did you notice the changes I made to sidebar, added Instagram, Pinterest, subscribe by email, and Tumblr feed. You like?

Relax & Recharge Dem Batteries, Girl.

I’ve been having a lovely relaxing day at home. I love Saturdays with no plans but home and the couch. Repaired some furniture, watched a few movies, sorted an array of business cards, and played Barbies with a mini munchkin. Movie marathon currently in progress so far we watched Hard Candy w/ Ellen Page, a psycho thriller and Waynes World. Next up looking for rom com and some foreign film to remind me of travelling.

These photos are from my  trip to our nations’s capital for Ottawa Fashion Week earlier this year. Have been using my camera less since I switched to iPhone and forgot about all kinds photos on it. Doh!

In the spirit of being Canadian, this video sums up all aI learned about prohibition on my trip to the Canadian Club HQ last month. The infographc is on PR newswire and you can read some of the other kids write-ups about the tour on Sidewalk Hustle and Notable.ca.

It was done by the same film studio that did the vid I was in for Puma last year, 1188 Films.  We had so much fun with this campaign, celebrating After Hours Athletes. Hey, sometimes a victory is making last call 😉 This vid was the promo for the event, which was one of my fav parties ever. See the party vid on Puma’s YouTube.

Have an awesome day!

Art Gallery of Ontario – Massive Gala

I was shocked at just how actually massive the event was last night. There were multiple floors, rooms, interactive art displays and lots of suits.

In support of art, I decided to make my hair really stand out by adding lots of colour. I was quite surprised there weren’t more ‘artistic’ looking people, it was very corporate. Fun though!

I LOVE the AGO and used to be gallery member. Thinking I’ll get a new membership again. It’ a great spot to hang out, work or escape to a world surrounded by creative works of art. It’s inspiring! Lots of posts about it in the archives, one of my favs here. Thanks Becca for these shots and the lovely Lauren for having me as her date. Read more about the event & see who was there on She Does the City.

Exotic Hotels in Far Away Places…

Last night I met the team behind boutique hotel booking brand Smith Hotels. They transformed the Spoke Club gallery into a divine experience with a lavish bed, cozy bath robes, delicious mixed drinks & a catered to a crowd of Toronto media & socialites. I’ve got a meeting with them later today and hope it sparks a budding travel relationship! Photos from the event will be up soon. These are all from iPhone!

Everyone got a copy of their ‘Italy’ hotel collection book and MY GOD, I want to go to Itay even more now. SO many beautiful places to explore, discover and rest your head. For now, I’ll enoy my own slice of paradise I like to call, Balconia!

Enjoy the day! Hope it’s beautiful & sunny wherever you are. Oh hey, the Skydome Rogers Centre just opened. First time I’ve seen the turf this Spring!

Trumped For The Very First Time

Had my first visit to the Toronto Trump Hotel in February and in honor of the Trump family cutting the ribbon for it’s official opening this week, heres a few photos from the Veet Pink Carpet event.

There was a performance by Lights, decadent hors d’oeuvres, pink desserts, champagne, and an Old Hollywood setting complete with Ms. Monroe. They had stylists on-hand for makeup and hair too. It was fun.

Before makeup w/ the lovely Catriona.

Love this Wes Anderson inspired photoshoot she posted.  Especially this photo. I foresee this in/as my future. So cute.  🙂

Ok aaaaaaand back to the event, Lights!

Sheena! Last time I saw her we were at YD Square hosting that super fun bouncy castle event with Koodonation.

Do you know what “microvolunteering” is? For my work that day Telus & Koodonation donated $20,000 to my chosen charity, Moving Windmills. A project that supports Malawian-run rural economic development by building windmills. Told that story a little bit here: Social Change Through the Social Web.

Marilyn! I SO want to wear this outfit.

My sister does an awesome throw back laugh light this.  HAHA. Love to see anyone laugh, even me!

Listening/watching this episode of Behind the Brand with Brian Solis. I’ve told you about everyone before. Did you know Pinterst is three years old? Bet you didn’t. I almost feel like I shouldn’t blog this but most of you wont even watch it. Digital Darwinism my friends.

Ok now, rushing to throw on heels, hat, jacket and make it to an event. Gonna get an Uber to pick me up!

BRIDLE BASH! July, 28th 2012

No, it doesn’t have anything to do with weddings! Bridle Bash is an awesome party put on by the Bridle Bash Foundation who I’ve been friends with for almost ten years. This summer, the party will once again be rocking one of Toronto’s most elite neighbourhoods, the Bridle Path. Party date is July, 28th.

At the last one I attended my siser and I took over a canoe, inside the pool and made the society page of The Globe & Mail:

I’m volunteering my time to help out the team with social media & run the twitter. I’d love you to follow & tweet with me at @BridleBash. We’re not decided on who will be rocking the stage yet BUT in lieu of the fee for an awesome band, the Foundation is planning to donate $150,000 to the charity of their choice.

Video from BB IV in 2010:

Here’s a wee bit from the press release (read it here):

Bridle Bash parties have always featured top-notch talent, with previous parties featuring amazing entertainers such as Burton Cummings, former Supremes singer Mary Wilson, and legendary Motown blues band the Funk Brothers. This year, the foundation is looking for a high-calibre musical act to headline Bridle Bash V, taking place on July 28. In exchange for this one-night engagement, the Bridle Bash Foundation will donate $150,000 to the musician or band’s favourite charity.

Hosted on the vast grounds of a private home on Toronto’s exclusive Bridle Path, the Bridle Bash stands apart from other fundraisers. Guests arrive in shorts and jeans, and many get into their bathing suits to watch the band from the pool. But the best thing about the Bridle Bash is the money it raises for great causes.

I’ll be doing some super fun giveaways for tickets closer to July. The event will be sold out so when I say it’s a hot ticket, I’m SERIOUS! To learn more about the Bridle Bash and the Bridle Bash Foundation visit bridlebash.org. Join the event on Facebook here!

Where would you go? What would you do?

Friday is my blog’s 7th birthday and next month is my 30th birthday. I KNOW! Crazy. I feel like a child so often that I can hardly believe I’m about to cross over to a new decade. I welcome it with open arms!

I’m not sure WHAT to do but I’ve entered a contest w/ TripOn and the winner gets a free trip for 32 of their friends anywhere TripOn operates.  Vote here and I’ll happily bring a bunch of you, friends from the internet, along for the ride and party. They have Buffalo, TFC games, Detroit. We could casino, concert or pretty much anything.

Hard part is deciding WHERE to go? Love your thoughts!

Stop and see the flowers, they’re nice.
