yep, watching from the window

It’s one of those good days. Sitting with the girls watching reruns of Sex and the City on DVD. The four of them are so comforting, like home made chicken soup. Made some of that yesterday afternoon, dinner tonight.  I’m watching Season Two, Miranda is not at her hottest and Carrie still smokes. She just started therapy.  Every time I tell Dad I’m watching SATC he asks ‘out which window?’. He’s really funny, my Dad.

today i reach for the sky

Had a nice dinner at the Gladstone last night. Deep fried Brie, amazing. Saw fireworks in the sky from Queen West over the lake. They were at Ontario Place but i’m not sure why, July 4th maybe?  This guy was wearing a headset and on the front he had a sign that said cheap and on the back easy. Unique characters on Ossington in the night.

she's pretty easy

It’s lovely outside and I’m gonna enjoy it. I love lazy Sunday. My sister and friends are on their way for pool party. Hangout out with Jenie is the best, she makes me the most happy.

something about girls on bikes

I get on my bike and go for a hike I ride through the streets, push pedals with feet. The wind in my hair, sun on skin fair, these’s something magic about it. I love.

i love girls on bikes

it felt like a movie

I’ve  always wanted to go, since I was little. I remmeber watching old movies with the girls serving onbaby blue rollerskates and the classic cars lined up in rows. Finally happened last night…

I wore an vintage dress and brought a cardigan, felt kinda schooley. We were the only ones in an old car, 1960 Desoto, baby blue. We sat in the back, there’s no seatbelts and it’s like a couch back there. It was perfect. You’re not supposed to bring alcohol but everyone does. It would probably help if they had the bar open, they didn’t. You tune into the radio station as the movie starts to play. It felt like a movie.

I watched Transformers, didn’t like it. That Fox is mighty sexy though.  The drive-in is at Polson Pier and they play two movies each night. It’s open on weekends and you can take a whole car load of people on Sunday’s for only $25. That’s a pretty good deal.

Their middle name. I don’t. Mine is Diana, after the Princess of Whales. Mum loved her. We had a bunch of different paraphernalia with her on it around the house. That’s a funny word ‘paraphernalia’.  I always thought she got married the year I was born but it was really the year before.

 nuit blanche 2007 - U of T

IMG_3295There were vases with a wedding picture of her and Charles in the main bathroom at home. I think they’re still there actually. I always look for things at garage sales with her face on it. More and more books get added to the collection all the time.  I love her too.  She was always so elegant and well dressed among all the other things that make her wonderful. I ran into a pair of her shoes a couple years ago at the Bata Shoe Museum. It was Nuit Blanche 2007 the year they had Lower Bay station open.

Every once in awhile you get asked ‘if you could meet anyone from history who wold it be?’ I want to meet her.  I always want to meet her.

i miss that hat, was a really good one. karrera made the earings from guitar picks

a little story: swimming lessons

Each summer Mum would put us girls in swimming lessons. In one particular lesson we had to put our heads under the water to pick up a ring from the bottom of the pool. All the kids took turns and when it was mine, I didn’t want to put my head under the water. The Mum’s were all watching to see what the kids would do. Instead of getting my head wet and reaching for the ring, I turned to a little boy beside me, batted my eyelashes and said “Will you pick it up for me?”  Mum’s jaw dropped and so did the little boy to pick up the ring.

The end… the beginning.

there’s a lot of babes that live around here

You know what’s fun? The recycled rubber they use as the ground on kids play things in parks. Had a blast jumping on that stuff last night. You should try it if you haven’t, just don’t fall.

New Folder5july1 004-1

I think you’re gonna like my friend she said, her name is Jessie and she’s kinda like you. Kinda? Hmm. Red/black vs pink/white, side shave, same height, smiley and fun attitude. Yeah, just a bit.  My pink is fading, gonna get it fixed tomorrow.

The bbq area on top of Sobey’s is visible to anyone over 4 floors at Cityplace and last night it was rocking. It’s kinda like being at a club just you’re not at a club and bottle service is cheaper. A private club, I like that.

leggy blonde

i am doll eyes, doll parts

I came across two things in the last 24 hours that go with doll parts and wanting to be the girl with the most cake. Hole also may be getting back together. That could be good or it could be really bad for Courtney.

1) Barbie Doll parts jewelery. Kinda creepy? No.

I’d love Barbie boobies and I like the hands necklace.

It’s  a one-of-a-kind necklace with eighteen barbie doll hands chopped with silver end caps. The collection is made by Margaux Lange and she has a pile of Barbie parts stuff on her Etsy store.  I like this beauty smile ring too.

2) Last night I had a Mojhito cupcake with white rum, lime, mint & cane sugar.  Cocktails by Gateau was at my place last night for a Canada Day bbq. They can come over with the cupcake cart anytime.  She won my heart playing MJ.

happy birthday canada you sexy thang

In 1996, on the weekend before Canada Day in my hometown of Cambridge, I was a contestant in the annual 04.04 116Miss Teen pageant. Since I was little I had always wanted to ride in the convertible waving like the Queen with a sash and tiara. That year I was in a group of about 18 girls all competing for a chance represent our city for a year at events as the Miss Teen.

I had to write a speech about why I was proud to be Canadian. Before our speeches we had preliminaries and I was the first person to ever get 100%. They asked about Canadian history and politics, good thing Mum prepped me before my interview. I got up on stage in the middle of the mall podium to recite my speech for the audience. I was a natural. The judges scored me the highest and that day I won my first (and so far only) beauty pageant. I got to ride in the convertible for the Canada Day parade like it was my job. That was my favorite Canada Day ever.found the photo in a box from dad

Canada Blog friends wrote about me recently, check it out!

hey there batman, haven’t seen you around

I have no attention span sometimes. At home on computer listening to TV and barely watching.  I get on the computer and am Tweeting away to people then I click on a link and get distracted. I see I got  email.  The movie was over 30 minutes ago.

casie and jenie

I’m thirsty and I get some water then reach for the fridge. I open the door and close it again before walking over to the balcony with my water.  Checks phone.  Emails and a missed phone call and a text from Twitter. Look at the TV, what show  is this?  Step outside.

casie and jenie

Go back to computer and remember what I was doing. I keep cleaning up this external drive so I can fit all the new photos on it. Got lots done…check Facebook  for a break. Clicks on a  link and reads something then reaches for the water glass and then the phone.

casie and jenie

A couple years ago Jenie and I decided to have a photoshoot at the Keg Mansion while we were there. Found these tonight. We were both darker and longer in the hair. I think I should grow my hair now that its so short. I love this Batman shirt, it’s thermal-like and really soft. I hope  she as it still.

cover me in rainbows and let me dance all night

Every year when the party is over I think, that was the best Pride ever. Then, when the next year rolls around it seems to be ever more fun than the last. Definitely the case again this year.

pride 2009 friends-1

On Saturday we went out the Northbound party in the then hit up Subspace. I had quite the outfit that night! There’s something so awesome about wearing latex.

pride 149

Didn’t make it to the Parade on Sunday, watched it from homer instead. The live coverageon CP24 was totally humiliating. Matt Babel and the other girl were not funny at all and they kept saying the gayest things. I don’t mean gay as in gay pride, I mean ‘dude, that was so not funny’ kinda gay. There is a big difference.

pride 197-1

We danced the night away at Fusion to the dirty beats of Mr. Matt C. It’s been a while since I heard tunes that really moved me like that. It was awesome. There were a heap of really cool peeps there. Had a blast hanging out with them all including this dude….

pride 181-1

and this babe…

pride 173-1

The thing about Pride weekend is that every one is so happy and open and free. The people are nice. There’s not attitude, well, except from the diva’s but that’s not frowned upon.

pride 168-2

I saw a hottie doing something I’d never seen before…fork as a cig holder. Um, yeah! FYI, pobably works a-ok as a roach clip too if youre in a jam.

pride 166-1

Overall, awesome weekend. Hopefully my voice comes back  but until then, I’m reminded of just how awesome Toronto is as a city and I know we throw the best Pride. The rain also held up pretty good despite the forecast, told you my theory was true.

pride 156-1

I found this dude to be super creepy. Before I went inside I say his extendo-camera reaching in to the patio party to get some footage. Good way to get a sneak peek without paying cover. Urgh, lame. I bet they were doing it all over the place. Creeping in windows and houses and crap like that. I’d be pissed if he creeped up behind me, would scare the crap out of me!

slept in past noon for the first time in ages

Omg it felt so good to wake up in the afternoon for once. I always get up early, morning person. Often spring out of bed and wake up smiling.  Today is a beautiful day. So much talk about MJ on the tv, going on now about how he was so in debt. Who lent him all those millions? Got flowers again last night cause Jeff won another medal.  There’s a heap of rocking bodies at the track meet. It makes sense but I just didn’t realize how many until I got there!

casie 001

The beaches are swim at your own risk, that’s too bad. Put my rainbow bikini on first thing when I got up. I’m heading out tonight for Pride. Pretty excited. I went to the Underground, I don’t like it there. So dirty and it made me feel like I’m in College. There was a live band and they played lots of stuff for sing along which made it fun. It’s the kind of place you should expect to get beer spilled on you. There’s bras of  good little tramps all over the ceiling, nice decor. I love the Pride commercials with the mayor and the police, so gay.

casie 003

Wanted to hang out with Sabrina last night and was standing there wishing she would walk in the door.  Few seconds after she walked in with little Michka and we were all excited. It was perfect. At Pride in 2005 on Dyke Match Saturday, same day as today. That was one of my fav years. We may actually have had the most fun ever that day.

pride2005

Outside time now.

GO ENJOY THE DAY. It’s beautiful.

take a look at yourself and make a change

Mum rung me while I was at the track and told me about MJ. I knew he went toi love you michael jackson!! the hospital and while I was biking he passed. Poor Farrah, will forever be remembered in the shadow of the world greatest pop icon. I realize now much I love him  when I look at photos,  listen and see him dance in videos.

Jenie and I used to watch Much Music for hours and learn his moves and make up dances. We’ve got a stack of MJ collection cards at Mum’s from when we were kids.  He’s got dark black skin black and wearing the red leather jacket in some of them,  he looks hot.

God, I love him, always will.

Michka made a tribute picture and sent it to me this morning. She looks great as MJ.

gearing up for the best party of the year dudes

Canadian Track and Field Champs last night, got a media pass (p.s. it’s cool to blog). I found it nerve wracking to watch a friend race. It was beautiful sitting there in the sun.  I love summer nights.

Camera3

I got to go on the track and I also got flowers because Jeff won a medal. Girls love getting flowers.  Baton Rouge for dinner was not really that good, I expected better. That’s what you get for setting expectations!track 017-1I was thinking about making voice notes on my bike ride to work. I always have great ideas but typing on my non-qwerty keyboard while riding is like a deathtrap. God, Mum’s prolly having a heart attack thinking about that. I think it will be fun to voice note, upload. Morning ride podcast maybe. I was practicing chatting to myself this morning and enjoying it as I so often do. We’re good friends, me and my thoughts.  Haha, crazy person. hair done awesome 014-1There’s gonna be so much Michael Jackson at Pride this weekend. Wore Superman undies today, Spiderman yesterday and Big Bird the day before. Having a theme week I think…leading up to dancing in the street  & fun outfits all weekend.  I really hope it’s sunny on Sunday. It never rains on Pride. I think it’s all the positive energy and gayness that the universe joins forces with mother nature to keep the sun shining down on everyone.  Yeah, that’s my theory. mascara eyegasm2I’m still using the vibrating mascara. I like it. If you wanna get a coupon for it and try it out Matchstick & Maybelline give you one here. My site’s been kinda slow lately and I’m gonna fix the baby and make some changes this weekend. Sorry, it bugs me too.  Lunch bike ride time.  Have a good day.

raining cats and blogs

I love it. The thunder in the sky. The energy that lights up the dark clouds when lightning strikes. The pounding of rain drops on windows of cars as they drive on the wet pavement.

I jump every time it rattles the windows and I screech a little with excitement. I enjoy the rush, it scares me a little but I like it.IMG_7234-1

I’m reminded of being in Florida last month. We were at a late night pool party and the air was damp with humidity as it had been hot all day. There was a flash of lightning and a crack of thunder.  It felt like only a second before the rain poured down. It was warm and wet and felt soft on my skin. I was in my bathing suit but  I wanted to be free. I removed it and tossed it into a pile. There in the hot Florida night I danced naked in the rain.  Arms over my hear to the beats of the music. I was free at last.

add some spice to your life already

Girls were working out in the park.  They start in a circle then change formation to watch the teacher. I stopped to have a sit in the grass and relax.hair done awesome 002Needed to  cool down from the hot heat on the bike ride. Was tired on the bike today, really warm out today. Humid.

Sat down for a cold refreshing one on the bench and felt calm.  Gonna get a new style today.hair done awesome 003The stuff is in my hair is hot and it feels like I’m in direct afternoon sunlight on a hot summer day.  It kinda burns a bit but it’s good.  I’m starting to get excited for Pride. I get talking about past times and all the girls start calling and we make plans.  OMG its so fun.  I love.

hair done awesome 005Its hot, burning right now a bit. I love coming here. I was so crazy with a mind a racin’ that I wasn’t relaxed. Now I’m relaxed. Beautiful outside right now, lovely. I looked at your picture but it wasn’t you it was an inposter of you circa something. I laughed. Facebook on phone means double notifications and major annoyance. Don’t like it.

Do like getting my hair done. The colour is setting in.  Its gonna be bright. hair done awesome 008

I’m  gonna freak out at first like I always do then love it. It’s going to be perfect for the weekend. I love it.

the joy and freedom of facebook and twitter

have been stripped. have been taken. have been blocked from the office.  i knew the day would come.  i just knew it. what’s next? i’ve still got myspace but i don’t like myspace. i want my twitter and facebook back. it’s not as fun on mobile.  my new blackberry flip has the short keyboard not the qwerty. i miss tweetdeck.  i miss the computer that went missing and the one that crashed. i miss my old blackberry that jumped off the balcony. my camera battery is dead right now and i couldn’t take any pix on my lunch ride.dirty girlfriend i want to ride on my bike all day. it’s really hot and lovely outside. had a good meeting last night and then went to the rhino for dinner. stayed at a friends house and wore the same dress to work. total skid. getting my hair done tonight thank god. i want it to be nice and fresh for Pride. new shave.  friend rented a limo to come to the city on sunday for the parade and we’re gonna cruise. god, the weekend can not get here soon enough.queen street

it has its benefits

I realized this morning as I put on my new vibrating mascara followed by my unreleased Givenchy fragrance that blogging really does have its benefits. Mum reminds me sometimes.  I’m always thinking about the next step. Last year I got a heap of cool jazz. Last night I got invited to Dermologica thanks to Marie from Karmacake.ca. I left with a whole skin care routine specific to what I like/need to make my face look extra lovely. It’s fun to meet other bloggers and this time it was all girls who were all very nice. Camera2 I’m excited to see where this bloggy takes me, it’s growing and I’m having lots of fun writing it. I’m also thankful for the opportunities it’s given me! I like going back and reading crazy thoughts that came out of my head and I often wonder “what was I thinking?”. It’s part of the fun of having a crappy memory!  Sometimes when I have a bad day or feel like crap it’s comments from you that completely change my mood and make me smile. Thanks for reading it.

The new Wired just arrived at my desk…it’s a good day.

lay me down on a bed of clothes-es

I love  vintage shops and clothing swaps but rarely buy stuff from retail chains.  I donate but I can’t seem to get rid the piles. I love them too much  but I hate putting them away.

Last night the pile was so big and I was so tired that I pushed them over to the side and laid down in a bed of clothes and dozed off. june 22 024-1

BUT…before I went to bed there I noticed attack of the spiders…gross.

so, like what’s new man?

I was thinking about how many times you hear someone say ‘What’s new?’ Stupid question really. Each day is new, the sun rises and grass grows and you have feelings and you buy stuff and you live. There’s always something new. Virtual Insanity plays in my headphones and I listen to my blip station and think of all the things that are new since yesterday.  I could write a heap of posts each day about new thoughts and things…

I’m really looking forward to going home to see the cars that Dad’s been working on and how much they’ve changed. I didn’t get to see him for Fathers Day. Last year he drove down in the raddest hot rod.  Jenie, Dad and I cruised down Queen Street. It was a perfect day. The Ford in the pic might be finished now but I know there are new ones around the shop. There’s always something old that becomes new there. june 22 013-2

wet and muddy all over the place

On Saturday I went to Edgefest. It wasn’t the most fun I’ve ever had but Karrera and I sure made the best of it.

Metric @ Edgefest 2009 from Casie Stewart on Vimeo.

I confirmed my girl crush on Emily. It was the first time I’ve seen Metric in real life. Yep, kinda love ‘er. I was happy to see today that Metric is now following me on Twitter.

We hung out in the car for a bit and tried to escape the rain, no chance. However, there was a beer tent with an overhead that saved the day.

It really should be called something line ‘Line Fest’ because if you want to get a beer, food, use the loo or see anything, you gotta wait in line. I hate lines. I don’t really know what I was expecting in all honesty. The line for the porta-potty was the worst. For events or weddings in Palmdale or Lancaster CA, Platinum Pro Portables can provide luxury porta potty trailer rentals. Maybe if they had known this before hand, there would have been far more portable toilets at this place. I have a friend that jokes ‘Just do it, it’ll be warm for a second’ and let me tell you, I almost did.

It would have been great to have my Wellies, I ruined a pair of shoes for the day. There was heaps of people sliding around in the mud. I coached this drunk lassie to take her shirt off with a bunch of by standers. It was quite comical. She seemed to really love the attention.

We cruised home after Metric. I wanted to see her and I did. She was great. I think that will be my last Edgefest. I felt like it would have been more fun if I was in College or highschool.

guess who came over?

Her birthday is coming up and Grama wants to have a party. She’s turning 100. She loves to dance and get down. She doesn’t mind a few drinks or a toke either.   You’d never know how old she is by her body. I think she’s had work done but she’ll never tell us. gramaThis one time she came out for Halloween and she was a hit. All the boys were checking her out from behind and dancing with her. When she turned around, they were shocked to see her age all over her face.  Oh, Grama, you so funny. There’s a video of her…but it’s really quite creepy.

that’s how you make a girls day!

You send her a box filled with vibrating units. Happy Friday to me! I received a box filled with vibrating mascaras. I gave one to Sabrina already, as usual. I’m looking forward to seeing what Kelly thinks of it too.

vibratingmascara 004

I love that they sent a special one in a bigger package for me and a whole bunch to share with vibratingmascara 002friends all nicely wrapped with bows. I’m one of the first peeps in Canada to get to test it out and as they say ‘share the vibe’.  It also came with a party book about style and how to have a good time with your friends. That’s up for grabs, I mastered that ages ago.

Ok, I tested it out out just now. It definitely vibrates, kinda shocked me at first how much it does! I’m gonna try it again tomorrow when I have fresh lashes. I’m heading to Edgefest tomorrow and I am SO stoked to see Metric. J’adore Emily.

eyegasm/vibrating mascara from me on Vimeo.

One more thing, you can get a discount coupon to purchase it from here and more info on the vibrating unit here. Happy eyegasms!!

the issues that matter most

Part One: There’s been a big thing going on to save our Internet in Canada from regulation and big business control ling it I’m pretty sure I mentioned it during Net Change Week or Raymi speaking at the town hall meeting. Good news, Liberals announced support for Net Neutrality on Thursday, hopefully the rest will follow their lead. We all need access to the internet.

this is how i feel, may 2009

Part Two: How you feel about yourself. That matters. I’m a positive girl , it’s a daily challenge but it’s more fun to be happy so I try each day. I’ve gotten pretty good at it. This week I’ve received a couple negative blog comments from a recent reader. It’s too bad that they find pleasure in leaving anonymous comments and have nothing better to do but type in my URL and take the time to press every key with bad intentions. The reality for the commenter that there is no such thing as anonymity if you post on a blogs. It is a bit annoying but mostly just dumb.  Having a blog is creating something new everyday, it’s a modern art form. On my blog,  I write about my stuff and take picture of me.  It’s very fun. may11 083I read a crazy article about a Canadian girl suing Google for negative remarks made about her on a Blogger (Google) hosted blog.

“I’m tall, I’m blond, I’ve been modeling for many years, and people get jealous,” she told the Daily News. “If I had to deal with everyone who is jealous, I wouldn’t have time to do anything else.” Her lawyer called the site “libelous” and “defamatory.”

The only way to really leave an anonymous comment, is to keep it to yourself. I always hoped that after high school people doing stupid things out of spite or jealousy would dissolve.  Maybe one day.

i like when the sun shines through the clouds

I love biking in the rain. It’s so refreshing riding through the puddles. Yesterday I rode home and I got 100% soaked. It was great. The rain was warm and the only thing that make it not great was that I don’t have my Wellies. Bugger, still haven’t found them. june 16 005

The other day before it decided to rain so much we hit up the Spoke patio for a friends event. We pretty much just went for sitting in the sun. It’s so lovely up there in the early evening.  We’re not buying condo’s at the moment. I’ve had a couple thoughts of moving back down under lately.art of patio 2We were surely the youngest people there. It was kinda funny because there were these cougars who had very obviously had their share of work done and they were snarking at us and giving us cut eye. Michka was ready to snap but she kept her cool.  There were lots of fake boobs around.

art of patioBeans was looking sexy like a Miami real estate agent. I liked it. It fit with the whole theme of the night.  I really enjoyed watching the photog’s creep around with their cameras. It was pretty awkward. They’d make eye contact and mutter “Photo?” or “Take your photo?”. I think I’d hate that job, always rather have photo taken really.

I met a really cool girl but I can’t remember her name. Not suprising! We went off  about Facebook and Twitter and Blogging, the internet, my favorite stuff.  She said she was gonna read and comment on blog. I like when people do that, not just say they will. I’m sure she’s out there somewhere.

I’d really appreciate if the sun would come out already.

it’s all for a notable cause

I’m giving you a heads up about a meetup for a good cause tomorrow in support of the National Kids Cancer Ride!

New York Fries and Notable TV are having a massive meet-up tomorrow, June 18 at Yonge & Dundas Square. My friend and  Notable TV Founder Julian Brass set a goal to take over downtown’s busiest intersection with hundreds of fry-eating people all supporting the National Kids Cancer Ride.

NY Fries will be donating $1 from every regular fries and meal sold on June 18th to the National Kids Cancer Ride. Awesome!

Join the group on Facebook and I’ll see you there tomorrow!

crazy going slowly am i

Sometimes I just can’t seem to relax. My mind races with a hundred thousand thoughts at a time and I lose my concentration and have no focus. I think there’s a good chance it might have to do with how much time I spend on the Internet soaking up information. My daily intake of news, facts, and randomness is very high. I constantly multitask and when I’m not on the Internet I have blackberry that receives three different emails, Blackberry Messenger and has wireless access.  I’m addicted to information. I’m very creative. My mind never stops.june 16 032

I think back to learning about entrepreneurs and how the really successful ones work their asses off.  That’s what you gotta do to get anywhere. I’ve been so busy lately and but not just going-places-busy, thoughts-process-busy. It’s really good and I like it but sometimes it gives me knots in my stomach and I feel like I’m going to puke. That’s how I felt this morning. I got up extra early so I could get to the office and check some things off my list before everyone else got in. The ride in was nice and my bike makes me feel free. I managed to get a bit ahead but I’ve still got a full day staring me in the face. Lunch meeting, after work meeting, concert, opening party, then finally bed. It’s days like this I sing the song from Sharon Lois and Bram and think it’s OK, you’re gonna be OK. It’s just another day. june 16 031-1
