New Lens for my PENs!
Deliver from Olympus today. New lens! Asked if they had any kicking around I could play with and voila. This is what they sent over. So far, it’s preeeeeettttty rad. Retail on it is $329 an it is for the Olympus PEN2. Product info here. Scrape. Zoom is intense. I can see so far. I can creep so far. This is my friends condo across the street. I don’t think he’s home. This is looking down about 40 stories. Boat love. Love boats. Weeeeeee. Scooting downstairs to get some lunch then back up to get ready for photoshoot for a new top secret campaign that is national and on the internet. Next month from August 9-19th is SummerWorks Festival which features Canadian music including Buck 65 & Hawksley Workman and an array of performances picked by a jury. I’ll be blogging a bunch of festival things, doing some interviews, and attending all kinds of stuff. Did you know what I love theatre. I was in the Sears Festival, played a hot box girl in Guys & Dolls, and did a few plays in high school. I love the stage, what can I say? Tomorrow night is the Summer Soireé and I would love to see you there. Dinner is hosted by award-winning playwright and actor, Michael Healey and takes place at the Great Hall. Purchase a ticket here. It’s an elegant three-course meal prepared by chefs Mark Cutrara + Alexandra Feswick (who are on the cusp of opening their new Samuel J Moore Restaurant on the main floor of the Great Hall). Apps and cocktails will be served at 6:00pm and the meal at 7:00. Semi-formal attire. Let me know if you’ll be there. Country By Day, Downtown by Night
Walked two hours today running into people in the streets between work meetings. I love this city. Amazing how rejuvenated a quick getaway makes you feel. Arroved home to a brand spankin’ new Olympus PEN camera. It’s E-PM1, a mini DSLR style camera. The lenses from my other camera’s fit it and i can’t wait to snap some new shots this week. Sadly it’s time to return my Hamilton watch I had on ong term loan. Glasses are those cat eye ones by Derek Cardigan for Clearly Contacts. Blue bracelet was made by Katiya. Good Morning world! How are you today? I’m thinking I might evacuate my closet of old items and finally see the floor. It’s practically an episode of hoarders in there right now. Shame on me! Tried Chipotle for the first time the other day when I was at YD Square for Koodonation. It was good. Hung out at Peach Berserk this week helping Kingi with some internetty things. She made me a shirt with my face on it 🙂 You know you gonna want one. Lots of nice things in the store. Colour explosion! Looks kinda gloomy out. Winter is coming. The cold yesterday reminded me how much I love to hibernate. Snuggled up on the couch in wool & blankets and fell asleep with the TV on. New camera arrived Friday, Olympus PEN E-PM1, 12.3 mpx. It’s more compact than the PEN 2 I’ve been shooting with. I’m part of the Olympus Pen Ready Project; 1,000 photographers around the world shooting with the new compact PEN Canera. I’l #884/1000. Beerfest 2011, The Sheepdogs, Sunshine & Rain
Welcome to the Social Media Lounge. Turned out great cause we had food & beer service inside our lounge with a roof over head. Considering how hard it rained here & there, appreciated it heaps. You get one glass like this to fill up with different beers. I had heaps of beer tokens and was the Suga Mama for my peeps. I surprisingly didn’t get drunk and was sober when I came home. Thankful for that. I’m growing up, clearly. I also love being Suga Mama. My Converse at the start of the day. Crisp, white, cute. My Converse now. Dirty, muddy, ruined. Sheepdogs chilled in our lounge for a bit. ET Canada was there doing stories. I love guys who look like Jesus. I’m not religious but that look has me hooked like Sunday morning. Nice meeting you babes. You’re gonna be huge. These pix are for you Mum!! Told them about you 🙂 Fan girls. (fatal attraction to cuteness) Top of the Budweiser Big Rig! The Blondetourage Does Baseball
Yesterday was an epic day for a ball game. O’Nizz, Keri, the boys and I were invited to hang out with our friends from Keek.com for Roberto Alomar Hall of Fame Day. It was awesome! Check out our box! Roberto Alomar was my fav player as a kid. I loved being there to watch the Jays retire his number and hear him speak. You are legend! Where’s Waldo? Can you see him? Two mounties walking behind. I had a huge crush on him when I was little. Remember how much of a babe he was? Swoon. He’s still pretty good looking TBH. I was fan girl crushing pretty hard. The entire stadium was PACKED. I heard the game was sold out! Whoa. His speech was very kind. My fav thing that he said was something his Mum always told him “be humble”. We had a ‘gay ol’ time’ singing “Take me out to the ball game”. I can only imagine how hot it would be to sit in the sun for the whole game. I didn’t see any umbrellas, are they even allowed? Probably not eh. Remind me to bring a huge hat if I ever sit down there. Hey there sports fans: Seany, Sammy, Ross. I can see my house! Two studs right here. Home run! It was Ross’ birthday. It’s beautiful out today! Doing a wee bit of work them meeting a babe for a bike to the beaches. Later in the day brings a Bellwoods hang and tonight I’ve got a date with my computer. Ate this ice cream last night. Doesn’t it look delish? It was. Last night I opened a box of creativity and started working on my first short film. I shot it with Olympus PEN, camera is wicked. I’m loving iMovie. Man, switching from Windows Movie maker to that is like a whole different generation of awesome. Keri got me hooked on this jam and it keeps popin’ up on my Spotify. I love it now. I’m a rad driver. Have grown to love driving since I’ve been doing it more lately (Toyota Matrix, Chevy Cruize, Ford Fusion). My fav one today was the Tijuan. VW driving blogger blonde. OUTTA THE WAY BUDDY, MAMA’S COMIN’! haha No seriously though, ripped corners mega hard. Crushed the brakes, tested them good. Liked having a pro driver in the passenger seat too. Track driving is fun, I like testing high performance things. Keri is a good driver. She has a VW and it’s featured in her show The Canadian Explorer. Starting to quite enjoy the Olympus PEN camera. Took some getting used to. When I get better I’d like to try some difference lenses. Fancy, huh. Wear good shoes for optimal driving performance & cuteness.
