I get on my bike and go for a hike I ride through the streets, push pedals with feet. The wind in my hair, sun on skin fair, these’s something magic about it. I love.
I’ve always wanted to go, since I was little. I remmeber watching old movies with the girls serving on rollerskates and the classic cars lined up in rows. Finally happened last night… I wore an vintage dress and brought a cardigan, felt kinda schooley. We were the only ones in an old car, 1960 Desoto, baby blue. We sat in the back, there’s no seatbelts and it’s like a couch back there. It was perfect. You’re not supposed to bring alcohol but everyone does. It would probably help if they had the bar open, they didn’t. You tune into the radio station as the movie starts to play. It felt like a movie. I watched Transformers, didn’t like it. That Fox is mighty sexy though. The drive-in is at Polson Pier and they play two movies each night. It’s open on weekends and you can take a whole car load of people on Sunday’s for only $25. That’s a pretty good deal.
Each summer Mum would put us girls in swimming lessons. In one particular lesson we had to put our heads under the water to pick up a ring from the bottom of the pool. All the kids took turns and when it was mine, I didn’t want to put my head under the water. The Mum’s were all watching to see what the kids would do. Instead of getting my head wet and reaching for the ring, I turned to a little boy beside me, batted my eyelashes and said “Will you pick it up for me?” Mum’s jaw dropped and so did the little boy to pick up the ring. The end… the beginning.
You know what’s fun? The recycled rubber they use as the ground on kids play things in parks. Had a blast jumping on that stuff last night. You should try it if you haven’t, just don’t fall. I think you’re gonna like my friend she said, her name is Jessie and she’s kinda like you. Kinda? Hmm. Red/black vs pink/white, side shave, same height, smiley and fun attitude. Yeah, just a bit. My pink is fading, gonna get it fixed tomorrow. The bbq area on top of Sobey’s is visible to anyone over 4 floors at Cityplace and last night it was rocking. It’s kinda like being at a club just you’re not at a club and bottle service is cheaper. A private club, I like that.
I came across two things in the last 24 hours that go with doll parts and wanting to be the girl with the most cake. Hole also may be getting back together. That could be good or it could be really bad for Courtney. 1) Barbie Doll parts jewelery. Kinda creepy? No. I’d love Barbie boobies and I like the hands necklace. It’s a one-of-a-kind necklace with eighteen barbie doll hands chopped with silver end caps. The collection is made by Margaux Lange and she has a pile of Barbie parts stuff on her Etsy store. I like this beauty smile ring too. 2) Last night I had a Mojhito cupcake with white rum, lime, mint & cane sugar. Cocktails by Gateau was at my place last night for a Canada Day bbq. They can come over with the cupcake cart anytime. She won my heart playing MJ.
In 1996, on the weekend before Canada Day in my hometown of Cambridge, I was a contestant in the annual Miss Teen pageant. Since I was little I had always wanted to ride in the convertible waving like the Queen with a sash and tiara. That year I was in a group of about 18 girls all competing for a chance represent our city for a year at events as the Miss Teen. I had to write a speech about why I was proud to be Canadian. Before our speeches we had preliminaries and I was the first person to ever get 100%. They asked about Canadian history and politics, good thing Mum prepped me before my interview. I got up on stage in the middle of the mall podium to recite my speech for the audience. I was a natural. The judges scored me the highest and that day I won my first (and so far only) beauty pageant. I got to ride in the convertible for the Canada Day parade like it was my job. That was my favorite Canada Day ever. Canada Blog friends wrote about me recently, check it out!
I have no attention span sometimes. At home on computer listening to TV and barely watching. I get on the computer and am Tweeting away to people then I click on a link and get distracted. I see I got email. The movie was over 30 minutes ago. I’m thirsty and I get some water then reach for the fridge. I open the door and close it again before walking over to the balcony with my water. Checks phone. Emails and a missed phone call and a text from Twitter. Look at the TV, what show is this? Step outside. Go back to computer and remember what I was doing. I keep cleaning up this external drive so I can fit all the new photos on it. Got lots done…check Facebook for a break. Clicks on a link and reads something then reaches for the water glass and then the phone. A couple years ago Jenie and I decided to have a photoshoot at the Keg Mansion while we were there. Found these tonight. We were both darker and longer in the hair. I think I should grow my hair now that its so short. I love this Batman shirt, it’s thermal-like and really soft. I hope she as it still.
Every year when the party is over I think, that was the best Pride ever. Then, when the next year rolls around it seems to be ever more fun than the last. Definitely the case again this year. On Saturday we went out the Northbound party in the then hit up Subspace. I had quite the outfit that night! There’s something so awesome about wearing latex. Didn’t make it to the Parade on Sunday, watched it from homer instead. The live coverageon CP24 was totally humiliating. Matt Babel and the other girl were not funny at all and they kept saying the gayest things. I don’t mean gay as in gay pride, I mean ‘dude, that was so not funny’ kinda gay. There is a big difference. We danced the night away at Fusion to the dirty beats of Mr. Matt C. It’s been a while since I heard tunes that really moved me like that. It was awesome. There were a heap of really cool peeps there. Had a blast hanging out with them all including this dude…. and this babe… The thing about Pride weekend is that every one is so happy and open and free. The people are nice. There’s not attitude, well, except from the diva’s but that’s not frowned upon. I saw a hottie doing something I’d never seen before…fork as a cig holder. Um, yeah! FYI, pobably works a-ok as a roach clip too if youre in a jam. Overall, awesome weekend. Hopefully my…
i have a dude voice from me on Vimeo.
Omg it felt so good to wake up in the afternoon for once. I always get up early, morning person. Often spring out of bed and wake up smiling. Today is a beautiful day. So much talk about MJ on the tv, going on now about how he was so in debt. Who lent him all those millions? Got flowers again last night cause Jeff won another medal. There’s a heap of rocking bodies at the track meet. It makes sense but I just didn’t realize how many until I got there! The beaches are swim at your own risk, that’s too bad. Put my rainbow bikini on first thing when I got up. I’m heading out tonight for Pride. Pretty excited. I went to the Underground, I don’t like it there. So dirty and it made me feel like I’m in College. There was a live band and they played lots of stuff for sing along which made it fun. It’s the kind of place you should expect to get beer spilled on you. There’s bras of good little tramps all over the ceiling, nice decor. I love the Pride commercials with the mayor and the police, so gay. Wanted to hang out with Sabrina last night and was standing there wishing she would walk in the door. Few seconds after she walked in with little Michka and we were all excited. It was perfect. At Pride in 2005 on Dyke Match Saturday, same day as today. That was one of my fav years. We may actually have…
Mum rung me while I was at the track and told me about MJ. I knew he went to the hospital and while I was biking he passed. Poor Farrah, will forever be remembered in the shadow of the world greatest pop icon. I realize now much I love him when I look at photos, listen and see him dance in videos. Jenie and I used to watch Much Music for hours and learn his moves and make up dances. We’ve got a stack of MJ collection cards at Mum’s from when we were kids. He’s got dark black skin black and wearing the red leather jacket in some of them, he looks hot. God, I love him, always will. Michka made a tribute picture and sent it to me this morning. She looks great as MJ.
Canadian Track and Field Champs last night, got a media pass (p.s. it’s cool to blog). I found it nerve wracking to watch a friend race. It was beautiful sitting there in the sun. I love summer nights. I got to go on the track and I also got flowers because Jeff won a medal. Girls love getting flowers. Baton Rouge for dinner was not really that good, I expected better. That’s what you get for setting expectations!I was thinking about making voice notes on my bike ride to work. I always have great ideas but typing on my non-qwerty keyboard while riding is like a deathtrap. God, Mum’s prolly having a heart attack thinking about that. I think it will be fun to voice note, upload. Morning ride podcast maybe. I was practicing chatting to myself this morning and enjoying it as I so often do. We’re good friends, me and my thoughts. Haha, crazy person. There’s gonna be so much Michael Jackson at Pride this weekend. Wore Superman undies today, Spiderman yesterday and Big Bird the day before. Having a theme week I think…leading up to dancing in the street & fun outfits all weekend. I really hope it’s sunny on Sunday. It never rains on Pride. I think it’s all the positive energy and gayness that the universe joins forces with mother nature to keep the sun shining down on everyone. Yeah, that’s my theory. I’m still using the vibrating mascara. I like it. If you wanna get…
I love it. The thunder in the sky. The energy that lights up the dark clouds when lightning strikes. The pounding of rain drops on windows of cars as they drive on the wet pavement. I jump every time it rattles the windows and I screech a little with excitement. I enjoy the rush, it scares me a little but I like it. I’m reminded of being in Florida last month. We were at a late night pool party and the air was damp with humidity as it had been hot all day. There was a flash of lightning and a crack of thunder. It felt like only a second before the rain poured down. It was warm and wet and felt soft on my skin. I was in my bathing suit but I wanted to be free. I removed it and tossed it into a pile. There in the hot Florida night I danced naked in the rain. Arms over my hear to the beats of the music. I was free at last.
