Art Gallery of Ontario – Massive Gala

I was shocked at just how actually massive the event was last night. There were multiple floors, rooms, interactive art displays and lots of suits. In support of art, I decided to make my hair really stand out by adding lots of colour. I was quite surprised there weren’t more ‘artistic’ looking people, it was very corporate. Fun though! I LOVE the AGO and used to be gallery member. Thinking I’ll get a new membership again. It’ a great spot to hang out, work or escape to a world surrounded by creative works of art. It’s inspiring! Lots of posts about it in the archives, one of my favs here. Thanks Becca for these shots and the lovely Lauren for having me as her date. Read more about the event & see who was there on She Does the City. <3 CASIE

Exotic Hotels in Far Away Places…

Last night I met the team behind boutique hotel booking brand Smith Hotels. They transformed the Spoke Club gallery into a divine experience with a lavish bed, cozy bath robes, delicious mixed drinks & a catered to a crowd of Toronto media & socialites. I’ve got a meeting with them later today and hope it sparks a budding travel relationship! Photos from the event will be up soon. These are all from iPhone! Everyone got a copy of their ‘Italy’ hotel collection book and MY GOD, I want to go to Itay even more now. SO many beautiful places to explore, discover and rest your head. For now, I’ll enoy my own slice of paradise I like to call, Balconia! Enjoy the day! Hope it’s beautiful & sunny wherever you are. Oh hey, the Skydome Rogers Centre just opened. First time I’ve seen the turf this Spring! <3 CASIE Instagram Me:

Trumped For The Very First Time

Had my first visit to the Toronto Trump Hotel in February and in honor of the Trump family cutting the ribbon for it’s official opening this week, heres a few photos from the Veet Pink Carpet event. There was a performance by Lights, decadent hors d’oeuvres, pink desserts, champagne, and an Old Hollywood setting complete with Ms. Monroe. They had stylists on-hand for makeup and hair too. It was fun. Before makeup w/ the lovely Catriona. Love this Wes Anderson inspired photoshoot she posted.  Especially this photo. I foresee this in/as my future. So cute.  🙂 Ok aaaaaaand back to the event, Lights! Sheena! Last time I saw her we were at YD Square hosting that super fun bouncy castle event with Koodonation. Do you know what “microvolunteering” is? For my work that day Telus & Koodonation donated $20,000 to my chosen charity, Moving Windmills. A project that supports Malawian-run rural economic development by building windmills. Told that story a little bit here: Social Change Through the Social Web. Marilyn! I SO want to wear this outfit. My sister does an awesome throw back laugh light this.  HAHA. Love to see anyone laugh, even me! Listening/watching this episode of Behind the Brand with Brian Solis. I’ve told you about everyone before. Did you know Pinterst is three years old? Bet you didn’t. I almost feel like I shouldn’t blog this but most of you wont even watch it. Digital Darwinism my friends. Ok now, rushing to throw on heels, hat, jacket and make it to an event. Gonna get an Uber to pick me up! <3 CASIE

BRIDLE BASH! July, 28th 2012

No, it doesn’t have anything to do with weddings! Bridle Bash is an awesome party put on by the Bridle Bash Foundation who I’ve been friends with for almost ten years. This summer, the party will once again be rocking one of Toronto’s most elite neighbourhoods, the Bridle Path. Party date is July, 28th. At the last one I attended my siser and I took over a canoe, inside the pool and made the society page of The Globe & Mail: I’m volunteering my time to help out the team with social media & run the twitter. I’d love you to follow & tweet with me at @BridleBash. We’re not decided on who will be rocking the stage yet BUT in lieu of the fee for an awesome band, the Foundation is planning to donate $150,000 to the charity of their choice. Video from BB IV in 2010:  Here’s a wee bit from the press release (read it here): Bridle Bash parties have always featured top-notch talent, with previous parties featuring amazing entertainers such as Burton Cummings, former Supremes singer Mary Wilson, and legendary Motown blues band the Funk Brothers. This year, the foundation is looking for a high-calibre musical act to headline Bridle Bash V, taking place on July 28. In exchange for this one-night engagement, the Bridle Bash Foundation will donate $150,000 to the musician or band’s favourite charity. Hosted on the vast grounds of a private home on Toronto’s exclusive Bridle Path, the Bridle Bash stands apart from other fundraisers. Guests arrive in shorts and jeans, and many get into their bathing suits to watch the band from the pool. But the best thing about the Bridle Bash is the money it raises for great causes. I’ll be doing some super fun giveaways for tickets closer to July. The…

Where would you go? What would you do?

Friday is my blog’s 7th birthday and next month is my 30th birthday. I KNOW! Crazy. I feel like a child so often that I can hardly believe I’m about to cross over to a new decade. I welcome it with open arms! I’m not sure WHAT to do but I’ve entered a contest w/ TripOn and the winner gets a free trip for 32 of their friends anywhere TripOn operates.  Vote here and I’ll happily bring a bunch of you, friends from the internet, along for the ride and party. They have Buffalo, TFC games, Detroit. We could casino, concert or pretty much anything. Hard part is deciding WHERE to go? Love your thoughts!   Where would you go?

“Conversations With Myself”

I’m tempted to write a memoir with this title about my life and the past seven years blogging. I started April 2005, first on myspace, then blogger, then Tumblr, Posterous, and WordPress. Throw all the other platforms into the mix and there has been lots of change in how content is shared and how I personally deliver my stories to the world. It started out as a dairy, a place to keep my memories and back then, I never even imagined it would turn into a career and open up all the doors it has. One of my favourite posts is “A Blog is An Engine” from February 5th, 2010. “A blog is an engine and behind that blog is a person. There, in that very chair,  sits a  person with bounds of creativity. The type of creativity that you can not ever imagine because it is unimaginable to your mind. It creates.  By the time you are reading this the engine has worked twice as fast,  faster.  The engine is moved by some type of driver and the engine has many tools. It employs services to work as engines in order to make it grow. The production must try to keep up with the mind yet the creativity, it DOES NOT STOP.  It flows and drives and moves and the more it makes the more it has for it is infinite.” I’ve been toying with the idea of writing a book for a while. I wrote my first book at 16 and became a published Canadian Author so if I could do it then I can SURELY do it now. I strongly feel that the more creativity I let out, the more I let it flow the more I have.  There’s lots going on but that only motivates me MORE to do the things I…
