My sister and I used to play The Quiet Game. Be quiet for as long as you can and first person to talk loses. I lost all the time. DOH! That’s not what this post is ab out THOUGH…
One of the things I have ALWAYS loved about my blog is when you leave comments. Starting now, like right NOW, I’m going to reward one commenter each week with a prize. It’s going to be a cool prize and I am going to send it to you, in the mail, with my own money. All you have to do is leave a comment on ANY post from Sunday – Friday. Winner will be picked on Saturday and mail sent out Monday. Comments will be shown in the sidebar so you can see who else is hanging around, who you are up against, or make friends. After all, you already have a common one here. (I mean ME!)
You have been getting to know me for god knows how long and when you comment, I get to know you. It makes me feel more human, this is not just a dot com or a magical blog-thing that updates itself, there is a real live person here typing on keys and smiling at the camera. Also, you commenting makes me feel like I am talking to myself less. Not that i mind talking to myself or that there is anything wrong with that.
So there, The Comment Game starts NOW and everyone who comments today on any post is entered to win a prize. This contest has no end date. It will hopefully go on forever (just like my blog).
Don’t be shy. Have fun! It’s just you and me here on the internet.
BTW this is my fav song right now. Her name is Lorde and she is from NEW ZEALAND too! 🙂
I haven’t commented on a blog in awhile. OH HAI!
OH HAI old friend. Nice to see you back 🙂
Yeah! What’s up with people not commenting anymore!?
Le sad. Wah. Comments are awesome!
Damn! I commented yesterday!
THAT STILL COUNTS! You are totally in for sure now.
The fine art of commenting is dying the long slow death that letter writing experienced. I think the only thing that can save it is if more blogs connect the commenting system to one of the big platforms like Facebook, Google Plus, twitter, etc. I used to love Disqus because it made it easier to connect accounts and allow people to comment without having to create yet another login account to manage… but most folks don’t even want to create or join Disqus so the blogs that experience the most comments (like TechCrunch) are the ones that connect with one of the big social networks (Facebook in their case)
Thinking about using Facebook commenting this year.
Awesome. I think it will be happening all over the web. I am hoping Google will realize this and make G+ a true commenting system that connects the web-o-sphere directly into its search engine…pure SEO magic. They finally hooked up its own Blogger platform to G+ so I think it’s coming soon. They need to buy Disqus already.
Can I comment on how much I love you, your style, your blog, your attitude, and your creativity. Just stating the obvious. xox
Yes, those are THE BEST comments.
What a cute blog post. I feel like comments have been replaced by ‘likes’ and although a ‘like’ is lovely to get, real words are always THAT much better. It’s nice to make a connection with people and feel a little more human, even if we are all behind computer screens.
Hope you’re well!
XO
PS. I ALWAYS lost the quiet game with my sisters too!
Is it nerdy that I’ve made one of my new years resolutions to comment more on the blogs that I read?
Not nerdy at ALL. I love it. HI HI!
I love a contest where I actually get to TALK! Wahoo!!!
What a fun concept. Perhaps I need to come up with something fun… some sort of online “Punch Buggy, No Punch Backs” inspired game. I say forget ‘poking’ someone online, lets go for the punch!
Since you shared a song it only seems fit for me to express my love for music. Casie, be sure to check out this tune which I cannot get out of my head no matter how hard I try. “Uh!” by Fujiya & Miyagi.

This is going to be F*U*N!!!
I gotta agree that it’s good to get comments. I agree with the above poster who said comments are getting replaced by “likes”. I am guilty of this. Words are much better than “likes”. Well anyway Happy New Year!
Casie such a great post. Things have got so busy that we all need to take a few minutes and connect with each other. Love this idea. You started talking way before you were a year old. One day we were out and Casie has her two word sentences going. This little girl turns to her mother “Mom that baby just talked, mothers says, no, babies don’t talk. I just looked at her and thought, oh yes she does. Love mum
I love the new design of your website. How did you get the home page to do what it does? It seems to aggregate all of your social posts from everywhere! Pinterest, twitter, etc. Very slick.
@paisano:disqus Thank you. It’s done using @rebelmouse, I love it too. @meganberry, formerly of @klout hooked it up. Aggregates everything!
I use Rebelmouse (well, not enough actually but I have an account). Thanks for letting me know. Megan did awesome job. I used to use a wordpress plugin called LifeStream that did something like this but not nearly as well and not on the home page. I think this is the wave of the future… everything we do from many platforms filtered back to your home page which should be ground zero to your brand or who you are. Well done, my friend.
Wow Just amazing! The photos are so beautiful and romantic. Looks like it was planned perfectly 😉
