Events | Stanley Kubrick at @TIFF_Net ⬅ Don’t miss this one!

Last week I had the opportunity to get a sneak peek of the Stanley Kubrick exhibit now open at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. IT WAS AWESOME. I was at BOOMBOX, the annual TIFF Fundraiser. You might remember last years crazy Cronenberg exhibit. Great for fans and if you are not a fan yet you will be when you leave those doors. I hadn’t see 2001: A Space Odyssey but after being in the space ship, I had to watch it last weekend. The exhibit features rare photographs, letters, original props and costumes (so cool!), screenplays, production materials, and cameras from his nearly 50-year career. #TIFF14: CFC Annual BBQ Fundraiser for Canadian Film

Yesterday I attended the Annual CFC BBQ at the Canadian Film Centre w/ Sean and the team from 1188 Films. His company was an event sponsor and was demoing the latest Oculus Rift part of David Cronenberg’s Body Mind Change project. You may remember my slight obsession w/ POD and Body Mind Change last year.   CFC BBQ Highlights: The talented @SarahGadon show support for Canadian filmmakers at @cfccreates #TIFF14 BBQ! Live for now. #PepsiPopUp

Last night wrapped 5 days of free concerts and interactive events at the PepsiPopUp at Richmond & John downtown Toronto. I stopped in to meet up with my contest winners and rock out a bit. I like this director’s chair look, don’t you? The show opened w/ Crystalyne who is about to go on tour across Asia. They were followed by Virginia to Vegas, also from Toronto. The pop-up was really neat because it only fit 200 people making the shows really intimate. Loved this Pop Art Projection outside the Pepsi Pop-Up Virginia to Vegas lead singer before hitting the stage Style award goes to this man w/ the awesome leather pants, creepers, and killer shades As I was leaving a colleague at Pepsi said she overheard some girls on their way out say “Did you see Casie Stewart?”, “Yeah, that was her!”.  I think they were too shy to say hello so, girls, if you are reading this, HIIIII! Don’t ever be shy to say hello if you see me out, I wanna meet you! The Toronto International Film Festival is on for a few more days and I’ve got some fun things in my schedule. My mantra for the day is LIVE FOR NOW. Remember, you’ll never be younger than you are today! <3 CASIE

TIFF Bell LightBox | The digiPlaySpace IS AWESOME!

Last night after dinner I stopped by the TIFF Bell Lightbox to visit the digiPlaySpace. For the first time, TIFF invited grown-ups to get down and geek out. The After Hours event inside digiPlaySpace introduced big kids like to me TIFF’s award-winning interactive exhibition. Thanks TIFF for the invite. Some of my fav parts below! The line was pretty long for PaperDude but I’ve tried it before. Look at this dork, haha! I love playing with Green Screen. I should have done Sesame Street instead of the Ellen Selfie. That’s so overdone! Big Bird was chillin’ by the DJ booth. Not sure what was going on here but the people on the floor had a camera on them that was projecting on the wall. Pong anyone? This was some kind of digital pong/fooseball thing. Looked like fun! At the digiPlaySpace, kids (big or small!) can play with emerging creative media technologies and share innovative artistic experiences. On sale now to TIFF Members and school groups. Find out more about tickets and pricing here. Can’t wait to take EmBot here to play around! I used waterlight painting to paint my name (of course). Don’t mind that the person beside me painted an ‘O’. DOH! <3 CASIE #waterlightgraffiti #digiplayspace https://t.co/hZmQ5OPV5K — CASIE STEWART (@casiestewart) April 1, 2014

Caitlin Cronenberg Portrait Studio at NKPR’s #ITLounge

During TIFF I was a busy little bee. one of my stops was The IT Lounge, hosted by Toronto- and New York-based public relations agency NKPR. In an exclusive collaboration with fashion magazine W, Caitlin Cronenberg took the helm of the portrait studio, snapping photographs of some of the most highly anticipated celebs. The theme was Modern Vintage (which I LOVED) featuring elements of heritage and classic. Décor included antique furniture and trompe d’oeil sets, with the concept for her Portrait Studio based on Casa Susanna. There were also a ton of great brands present in the lounge including Avon, Tweezerman and Roots Canada, Cold Stone Creamery and Italian heritage brand Barilla. Natasha & NKPR, thank you SO MUCH for all the goodies. Avon was lovely and sent me a bunch of lipsticks and the Tweezerman set are the best I’ve ever had. Check out all the portraits from the NKPR portrait studio at  itlounge.nkpr.net and see the work of Caitlin Cronenberg on her website.  Happy Friday! <3 CASIE   Buy Flomax Buy Abilify Buy Aciphex
