IF YOU’RE AWESOME & YOU KNOW IT CLAP YOUR HANDS

Oh heyyyy there you, life, blog, friends! It’s Friday morning and I was up super early. Working on that doc I mentioned today. Had awesome meeting last night with some of my team for upcoming project and was so inspired I found it hard to sleep (aka got lost in Pinterest. Sigh). There’s so much going on all the time I’ve been feeling a bit overwhelmed with that fact that all kind of things I’ve wished for and worked towards are actually happening. It makes me nervous excited which is in fact, my most favourite feeling. Ever. Let’s start the day with this Tweet and let it carry you. #FF via blog for Rayanne; She is awesome and you know it, clap your hands! 🙂 If you’re bored, then you’re boring. — Rayanne Langdon (@rlangdon) March 30, 2012 Thanks Becca for this snap of Morgan and I from Brock’s showcase during Canadian Music Week last weekend. I believe those boys are at the Juno’s this weekend. If you’re not from Canada you might not know what the Juno’s are. We’re pretty good at making music in the Great White North. Popped by Diesel’s flagship shop for the Spring/Summer 2012 preview event the other night hosted by Flare and LOULOU mags. Hung out with blog friends, looked at clothes. Had my hair done just before, thanks Darren. Drinks were non-alcoholic which was refreshing. Going to a zillion events all the time is tiring and dehydrating. I appreciated the short event and fresh juice. Drink more water. Look at this handsome afro man, Babe Lincoln: These are a few of my fav items. They’ve got a pastel mint leather jacket that I would love to own (hint hint). I’ve not been a big wearer of Diesel since highschool but there was a bunch of things I could…

The First LomoKino Music Video Ever! ‘Water’ by Beach Party

Woke up this morning earlier than usual and really excited. I can’t help it, this is my life and it’s real and all the things I always wanted to happen….ARE HAPPENING. Another reason to wake up with a smile was a lovely message from my (fantasy) boyfriend in South Africa, the very talented Dylan Culhane. Remember this handsome face? Of course you do. Photo via We Are Awesome Dylan’s lomo skills are FAR beyond mine and he’s shot the very first ever LomoKino music video! The vid is for Cape Town-based band Beach Party and was shot entirely with a LomoKino camera on various types of Lomography film stock. The final product is a stop motion animation with more than 4,500 frames of 35mm film, set to a ‘damn catchy surf-rock tune’. Read the article and some words by Dylan on Lomography. Make sure you imagine his South African accent 😉 Here’s the vid: Beach Party – Water from Dylan Culhane I wasn’t sure about taking my Diana camera from Lomography but after waking up to this and jumping around to fun beats, I’ve packed it. Hopefully my shots this time will turn out better than the last batch!

Berlin Party Time

Where did I leave off? It seemed like only the beginning of Fashion Week… yesterday. This city moves so fast you gotta catch up with it. There is no time to waste, let alone sleep. The best thing is that “fashion week” is more than just fashion. It’s about the city and the style on the streets and the parties and the people. And that’s exactly what I did. Wednesday: Attended the invite-only VICE/Rdio party where a friend was DJing… something we all adore by solomun Lots of hipsters and the usual, but good music and good friends and good drinks and good fun. Made it home just in time for the last train. Party win! Thursday: Skipped out on a fashion party to attend a geeky girls dinner at a restaurant in Mitte (the middle) where I chatted about the tech side of life with girls from other startups in Berlin. Friday: Went to a sexy club called Watergate where it was the Diynamic Nacht party, a record label based in Hamburg that specializes in sexy house music. And damn, was it hot. Danced until dawn and took the tram home (Berlin’s version of the streetcar). Saturday: Went to a tiny tiny club, Paloma Bar Sunday: Went to mauerpark Monday: Picked up my friend from Osaka from the train station and he cooked me some soba noodles and 豆大福 Tuesday: Went to the Berliner Philharmonie and listened to some Brahms, Tchaikovsky Wednesday: Boiler Room. That is all. Just an average week in the living of my life. – Jessica, in Berlin

I woke up to a feeling, every little thing has meaning.

Went to a really cool Boston bar last night called Lucky’s. They have a drink named after me called Firecracker. Omg it was so good. I think I had too many. Preparing for a 2pm hangover. My flight today was cancelled so I’m getting home later tonight then planned. Bob and I are going for breakfast and I’m going to get the greasiest thing I can. Extra time at the airport (cause of delay) is good for getting work done. I’m sure I’ll have a breaking life report by then! Happy Monday. Keep fit & have fun xoxo

Viva Las Casie

I reckon three days in Vegas is too long. I’m over it. Spent most of last night going to lame parties and taking taxis. The coolest thing is that we found the ‘secret pizza’ place in the Cosmo and had a pizza party. It is hidden behind a sushi place and outside of it is a pool table with gorgeous vintage furniture. I drank PBR and played with my iPhone while the others played pool. There were a bunch of celebrities at one of the parties but I really don’t care. That chandelier is the worlds largest Swarovski. It’s beautiful and spans three stories with stairs and an elevator. I had a great sleep and today I’m planning to walk the strip and check out the sights. I would love to see Chris Angel!

The Virtual Mirror for Styling Your Face

Your face is extremely important to you and if you have/like to wear glasses you wanna have ones that make you feel good. Mum used to always say “looking good is feeling good” and its so true. My favourite vintage waldo-ish glasses are really scratched so when ClearlyContacts asked if I wanted a new pair I was IN! They have this cool new feature that’s a virtual mirror for trying on glasses. I played around with it today and it makes the online shopping process WAY easier. Check me out gif styling & shopping at Whole Foods earlier today: Clearly Contacts is offering a promotion tomorrow to all first time customers starting at 9am (EST) and the first 10,000 glasses ordered are free. YES FREE! Promotion doesn’t include sunglasses. To get your free pair visit them on Facebook or click on photo below. I decided on a new pair of nerd glasses and black Ray Bans (so excited for these!). There’s a good chance they’ll be waiting for me when I get home from Vegas. STOKED.

Party like it’s 2012! Dim sum dance party w/ Mansion

We had all the blonde blogging babies out that night. Love those babies. Last night I watched Swingers and now all I wanna do is call my besties babies. All our boys were there too. Love these love birds. Lozzie & Seany. Emma is one of my style ICONS. You can find her managing my fav vintage shop @CTS_Queen. She is a beauty and always has the most rad outfits. She picked out my gold dress for the night from the shop, I cut it and added a bow + belt. Check the dance move of the guy in the background above. Ha! The cute baby boy with her below is her charming BF Brendan. Alliteration is my fav literary love. All photos are taken by my lovely PA Miss Kate Killet. THANKS KATE! These dudes were part of the dancing dragons. We were really at a Dim Sum spot. I didn’t eat any, I’m not really into Dim Sum. I heard there were serving lobster too. DANCING DRAGONS!! Blondetourage rides again, Lauren, Me, Raymbo! BLOG POWER! That’s like GIRL POWER Spice girls style. We’re modern stylin’ Spice Nerds. Sammy & Ross are in Jamaica right now. DAMN YOU JERKS! j.k. Have fun boys. Bring me back a rum. My sis Effie was dressed almost same as Lauren. TWINSIES! Thanks Mansion for a fun party! Toronto Rebels Unite.

Lozzie and I are on stage callin’ numbers for bad kids Rebel Bingo with James Flames tonight….kinda like this: You should probably get a ticket. If you miss it, well, you’re probably not that cool anyways. Check Lauren’s bloggy for more secret details. Tickets here. In other sexy, rebel news, the Youtube takeover went live today for the Durex Savvy Lover campaign AND the documentary features Raymi! Nice work to all the peeps behind the campaign! I worked with Brand Momentum as a copywriter for Durex earlier this year and some of my topics included ‘Turning your walk of shame into a stride of pride” and ‘manscaping’. Super fun stuff to write about! Get some freaky Friday tips from four of Durex’s ‘sexperts’ on the Durex FB here. The FB app uses Pinpoint Social, Daniel’s company, fancy huh?! And finally, the most beauty marriage ad I’ve seen that, yes, brought tears to my eyes. (MUM, BOB, don’t get any ideas about ME! Just watch it!) It really IS time. Thanks to Andrew Stewart, my digital brother for sharing. Can’t wait till his wedding one day. ♥ Off to the postie to pick up a package then to mee Lau in Kensington, then to rehearsal. I hope it’s shoes or the camera I’ve been waiting for! You will be older tomorrow so BE YOUNG TODAY!

Toronto Fashion Week – Buckler, Boys, Babes

Attended five events last Thursday night – two fashion shows in the tents, Movember media launch, Buckler at F-Stop and GSUS at the Hoxton. It was a workout. Lucky for us they were all close together. Living downtown is essential to making the most appearances in a short time. This is Sport Partying 🙂 Check this out – found three of a kind! We were certain a model farted. Pointing & laughing made the situation a WHOLE lot better. Kate snapped all these photos. She’s a darling. Me, always working. Yes, those are my real lashes 😉 Fritz (Fritz Helder) had the most rad Docs. Not avail at the Doc Martens store. He found them somewhere downtown but I will not reveal his secret! I love the simplicity of Buckler. The models were cute too. Check out Kate’s other photos on her flickr here.

Music: TinyDanza Come In First Place At Indie Week!

I first met Galen from Tiny Danza in 2009 at Steamwhistle. My hair was long & a very different blonde back then. Nice beard Galen. Brock’s been working with them for a while now and last weekend they WON Indie Week. So proud of all the boys. They’re had some serious hustle the last couple years and for that, mad respect. Also much respect ‘cuz we both rock shirts with our own brands on ’em. HUSTLE! October 17th, 2011 // Toronto, ON –  Following a thunderous show at Tattoo Rock Parlour Sunday night in Toronto, Tiny Danza have won the opportunity to showcase in Ireland for Indie Week 2012. Tiny Danza was chosen as the top band of the festival by a panel of industry judges out of more than 200 talented acts at Indie Week 2011 and have solidified themselves as the band to watch in the coming months. This is one of my fav’s. Enjoy! 🙂
