Lifestyles of the Queen West and Fabulous

[View the story “As Keri says \”Best Night of the Week!\”” on Storify] As Keri says "Best Night of the Week!" Thursday is always a good day. There are less than 15 working hours till the weekend so make them COUNT! I’ve got a busy day at work and am excited about upcoming projects. Being Director of Social Media here at community is so fun/crazy/exciting. Each day is a new adventure! Storified by CASIE STEWART· Thu, Jan 10 2013 07:33:11 Good morning! I’m kinda in love with you Brandy Melville.

Welcome to my new fav Queen West hot lil’ spot. Look at all those signs! Need the Queen West one for the office.  The shop is right in the heart of my neighbourhood at Queen/Spadina and completely filled with everything I enjoy wearing. This is the FIRST Brandy Melville store in Toronto (from LA). These are the things I got; skull scarf, girl tank, aztek change purse, John Galt flower print backpack. I am in LOVE LOVE with new backpack. I actually stalked it online for days, almost ordering, and today I GOT IT. That’s US, the big smoke! The Brandy shop is online at @brandymelvilleC and instagram at @brandymelvillecanada. I posted a few photos to each platform. I feel a shop and drop addiction coming on…drop all plans, shop for everything. Asked them about doing a holiday giveaway, so will keep you posted on that! If you stop by LMK in the comments what you get. I kinda want the whole store. Santa, can you hear MEEEEEEE! <3 CASIE

But right now, we are alive and in this moment I swear we are infinite.

“So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I’m still trying to figure out how that could be.” Excited for the Perks of Being a Walflower movie. Trailer came out last night during the MTV Awards.  If you are in Canada you can not see this trailer but you can watch at mtv.ca. I have never understood why MTV Canada does not let you embed their videos. Lame guys! ‘ Song frm the trailer. So good. “I’m never changing who I am“. Lead singer is potential boyfriend Dan Reynolds, dreamboat. And I love her. And you.

THE INTERNET IS FULL OF TRINKETS

Meet one of my most fav gifs ever. Found it yesterday and it’s done by friend & photog Nate Kogan. NATE! How fun is this, the moves the glitter. I’m in love.  SO CUTE! Have you checked out Keri Blog recently? She’s still been a nomad since January 1, 2012 & just kicked off her security show, Smarten Up Internet. Keri’s got the beat on how to keep your computer and gadgets safe and she could hack your computer from a wifi right in front of you. She hacked me once, September 14, 2011 exactly at 4:20. I just realized the time. We were at a coffee shop in Toronto. I didn’t even notice until she Tweeted, from MY account. Hey guys it’s @KeriBlog and I just hacked Casie’s account. — CASIE STEWART (@casiestewart) September 14, 2011 Thank you for tweeting: So funny. It hurts. corporatetwits.tumblr.com companies dealing with social media “issues” — Scott Stratten (@unmarketing) April 10, 2012 Attention everyone: I think you’re awesome. Whatever you’re chasing this morning, catch it or I’ll think less of you. Lots less. — Jus Frais (@jusfrais) April 10, 2012 Watched this hipster vid on Lauren O’Nizzle’s blog. Her blog is full of haha humor. That reminds me, I haven’t gone for Ethiopian food in a while. I’m a little bit obsessing over the HG. I can’t help it. I don’t know how to explain this. Sorry/you’re welcome. I just about died laughing my all off. First one I saw was Hunger Games Effie then Hawaii & Kate.  The band is a Swedish group of cool kids and they made this to promote the song. Thanks Kate for the low down. They released their song on Spotify. I don’t have Spotify anymore because of this, then we talked about it at Canadian Music Week. Den officiella…

IF YOU’RE AWESOME & YOU KNOW IT CLAP YOUR HANDS

Oh heyyyy there you, life, blog, friends! It’s Friday morning and I was up super early. Working on that doc I mentioned today. Had awesome meeting last night with some of my team for upcoming project and was so inspired I found it hard to sleep (aka got lost in Pinterest. Sigh). There’s so much going on all the time I’ve been feeling a bit overwhelmed with that fact that all kind of things I’ve wished for and worked towards are actually happening. It makes me nervous excited which is in fact, my most favourite feeling. Ever. Let’s start the day with this Tweet and let it carry you. #FF via blog for Rayanne; She is awesome and you know it, clap your hands! 🙂 If you’re bored, then you’re boring. — Rayanne Langdon (@rlangdon) March 30, 2012 Thanks Becca for this snap of Morgan and I from Brock’s showcase during Canadian Music Week last weekend. I believe those boys are at the Juno’s this weekend. If you’re not from Canada you might not know what the Juno’s are. We’re pretty good at making music in the Great White North. Popped by Diesel’s flagship shop for the Spring/Summer 2012 preview event the other night hosted by Flare and LOULOU mags. Hung out with blog friends, looked at clothes. Had my hair done just before, thanks Darren. Drinks were non-alcoholic which was refreshing. Going to a zillion events all the time is tiring and dehydrating. I appreciated the short event and fresh juice. Drink more water. Look at this handsome afro man, Babe Lincoln: These are a few of my fav items. They’ve got a pastel mint leather jacket that I would love to own (hint hint). I’ve not been a big wearer of Diesel since highschool but there was a bunch of things I could…

The First LomoKino Music Video Ever! ‘Water’ by Beach Party

Woke up this morning earlier than usual and really excited. I can’t help it, this is my life and it’s real and all the things I always wanted to happen….ARE HAPPENING. Another reason to wake up with a smile was a lovely message from my (fantasy) boyfriend in South Africa, the very talented Dylan Culhane. Remember this handsome face? Of course you do. Photo via We Are Awesome Dylan’s lomo skills are FAR beyond mine and he’s shot the very first ever LomoKino music video! The vid is for Cape Town-based band Beach Party and was shot entirely with a LomoKino camera on various types of Lomography film stock. The final product is a stop motion animation with more than 4,500 frames of 35mm film, set to a ‘damn catchy surf-rock tune’. Read the article and some words by Dylan on Lomography. Make sure you imagine his South African accent 😉 Here’s the vid: Beach Party – Water from Dylan Culhane I wasn’t sure about taking my Diana camera from Lomography but after waking up to this and jumping around to fun beats, I’ve packed it. Hopefully my shots this time will turn out better than the last batch!

Berlin Party Time

Where did I leave off? It seemed like only the beginning of Fashion Week… yesterday. This city moves so fast you gotta catch up with it. There is no time to waste, let alone sleep. The best thing is that “fashion week” is more than just fashion. It’s about the city and the style on the streets and the parties and the people. And that’s exactly what I did. Wednesday: Attended the invite-only VICE/Rdio party where a friend was DJing… something we all adore by solomun Lots of hipsters and the usual, but good music and good friends and good drinks and good fun. Made it home just in time for the last train. Party win! Thursday: Skipped out on a fashion party to attend a geeky girls dinner at a restaurant in Mitte (the middle) where I chatted about the tech side of life with girls from other startups in Berlin. Friday: Went to a sexy club called Watergate where it was the Diynamic Nacht party, a record label based in Hamburg that specializes in sexy house music. And damn, was it hot. Danced until dawn and took the tram home (Berlin’s version of the streetcar). Saturday: Went to a tiny tiny club, Paloma Bar Sunday: Went to mauerpark Monday: Picked up my friend from Osaka from the train station and he cooked me some soba noodles and 豆大福 Tuesday: Went to the Berliner Philharmonie and listened to some Brahms, Tchaikovsky Wednesday: Boiler Room. That is all. Just an average week in the living of my life. – Jessica, in Berlin
